Callie's phone continued to chirp with the incoming sounds of Chatter's, texts, and whatever else she'd plugged into. She didn't seem all too 'tech' savvy, but when it came to apps and the social media side of the internet, she probably knew quite a bit. "Oh Clef, somebody said they'd love to try and groom you! I keep sending pics in and it's just fantastic. I want to tell him yes, but the signal is so spotty. Let's try to hurry this up so we can go ahead and get back where there's some wifi and signal. Do that Metronome thing again." Unaware of the powerhouse she possessed, Callie returned to her phone with Clef-xoxo returned to her strange Metronome ritual.
Oblivious to the internet world Callie was in, Clef just continued to fight for her trainer. The finger waggle, followed by the power up of the attack was all the anticipation Callie needed to stir up the bored masses sitting at home, not enjoying hot battles and cute Pokemon like this. "Clef! Don't hurt Squirtle too much! It's just so cuuuute! We need to take selfies after this, girlfriend." Unclear if she was talking to Berry, Clef or Sandy, it was probably best to just let it ride. Besides, there was a battle to be had. Clef-xoxo's move had been randomized, and it seemed as though-
Despite how much Clef waggled her finger, nothing was happening. The sheer power needed for the attack previously was too much, and she was going to need a turn to cool down. Callie didn't even noticed she didn't get an attack this turn, and began to dote about Squirtle again. "Oh my gosh, she's so cute and I bet she's strong!" Callie praised, probably causing Clef to get a bit jealous. Picking up on the emotions, Berry deemed it necessary for Clef to 'cool off' with a bit of a Water Pulse. Shooting water all over Clef, her fur was soggy and whatever product that was in it had probably washed out. The battle hadn't taken her attention off of the phone, but ruining her Pokemon's hair seemed to get Callie's attention. "OH MY GOSH, LOOK WHAT YOU DID! IT'S GONNA TAKE ME ANOTHER FEW HOURS TO GET HER FUR DONE LIKE THAT AGAIN! WE'RE TOTALLY NOT GOING TO FOLLOW EACHOTHER ON CHATTER NOW." Callie's Clef-xoxo - Level |26| Health: 15/93 Current Status: #allwashedup Cooldown turn! Sandy's Berry - Level |28| Health: 71/71 Current Status: Just die already! Successful Water Pulse!

Your Words in my Head
Knives in my Heart
Sandy watched as Berry was able to deliver an effective Water Pulse. All things considered, Sandy hoped that the battle would wrap up soon. She was getting sick of it. Callie had barely looked up from that...device once this battle. Cell Phones were fine, but not when your head was buried in them all the time. She took a deep breath, but for now said nothing. She looked to Hotaru, who was currently resting up beside Scatter. She could have really been hurt, and it was partially because of Sandy herself, but partially because Callie wasn't paying any attention to what she couldn't see behind the camera lens.
"Come on Berry, use another Water Pulse." Sandy commanded. It was then that Callie spoke up, and Sandy, though holding her tongue this whole time, could not anymore. "No offense meant..." she said softly. "But...I don't even think I would um...follow you on...Chatter.." She continued. "You can have as many cute pictures and followers as you want but I think what matters most is how your Pokemon feels and reacts during a battle and sitting there giving Clef half hearted commands and complimenting my Squirtle....thank you by the way, at the same time is.." she cleared her throat. "Not Good.." And it was like that the girl once again lost any courage.

"GOOD. Cause, like, I'm totally going to tell everyone on Chatter what a meanie you are. Tsh," Callie said in her best angry voice, furiously tapping away at her phone. It was more of a halfhearted threat than anything, given how absorbed in her digital world the woman was. "Oh Clef, you sweet, beautiful Clefable.. um, I guess Sing or something? Maybe we can even try out for Johto Idol!" Callie trilled, waving a hand around dismissively. Clef sighed, ignoring the sad attempt at a compliment from her ditz trainer. Sandy would surely be grateful there wasn't another round of Metronome in store, given how well that move had panned out for Callie so far. Berry tensed as Clef moved forwards, mouth parting to let the first few notes of an undefinable song out.
"YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!" Callie shrieked, the sheer volume of her voice cutting off the sleep-inducing lullaby. Spinning round with an angry cry at having been disturbed, the Clefable unfortunately left herself wide open for Berry. Frowning at Callie, Berry shrugged to herself before taking a deep breath and spouting out a great blast of water that exploded as it made contact with Clef. Whirling from the blow, Clef briefly faced Sandy and Berry once more, face a mixture of shock and sadness before she simply fainted. True to typical Callie fashion, it took the beauty a belated minute to realize Clef had gone down, peering out around her phone. "Drat. I lost the signal again AND she's gone and fainted."
Sighing irritably, Callie recalled Clef to her ball and waved a finger at Sandy. "I'm not done with you yet! I've saved the best for last after all! Meet WigglyTUDE!" she chirped in a bright voice, as if losing one Pokémon didn't faze her at all. Sending forth a Wigglytuff, it was clear where the Pokémon had gotten her name from; she looked extremely grumpy. Swelling herself up and glaring down at Berry, WigglyTUDE looked quite menacing for such a plushy, pink Pokémon. "Isn't she CUTE? And she's so much stronger than Clef! All my Chatter friends love her!" Callie giggled, beaming adorably at her partner, a look WigglyTUDE deigned not to return.

For maybe the first time in a long time...Sandy felt absolutely exhasperated. How much did it take to get through to this girl? She was so...absorbed in her phone that she hadn't even noticed her Clefable had fainted. But Sandy wasn't going to argue the point anymore. If she wanted to waste her life with half of herself absorbed within a virtual world, she couldn't stop her. Though...she hadn't been expecting another Pokemon. Sandy was about done speaking to Callie, and instead, turned to her Pokemon.
"Berry, take a rest, Scatter, you switch in." Berry hopped back over to where Hotaru was recovering, and in her Place, Scatter landed neatly on all fours. He was tired of this girl also, and it didn't help that someone like Sandy was feeling the exact same way. They'd show her what a real team was.
"Scatter, Sing." The cat started with a low growl as he looked at the opposing Pokemon. Their kind were famous for putting others to sleep. Well maybe it was time he did the same, as he tried to carry the melody across the foggy field.

As Scatter switched into the battle Callie was too busy messing with her phone to realize that Sandy was ready to begin the next round. She kept taking pictures and shooting videos of her Wigglytuff trapped in her technology obsessed lifestyle. The young lady had seemingly forgotten the battle was still going on until she heard Sandy give an order to her Pokemon in which Callie finally put her phone down only to realize she had let her guard down for too long as Scatter began to sign a soothing lullaby. As he did Callie desperately tried to react to the attack hoping she was not too late. " Like I was totally not ready you cheater. You should have waited until I said I was ready before you made an attack. WigglyTUDT lets show this cheater how to fight fair with your own sing attack." Although WigglyTude tried her best to start up a melody of her own it was not fast enough and she began to close her eyes from Scatter's wonderful song before she drifted into a deep sleep unable to make an attack of her own and leaving Callie outraged that she was not able to do anything about it. " You cheater how dare you. I cannot believe your Pokemon managed to put mine to sleep it is not fair."As she was at a boiling point and as she finally managed to get a signal again she snapped a picture of Sandy and sent it out to all of her friends warning them of the supposed cheater so they would not try to battle her. After sending the photo to all of her friends Callie was still angry but she had at least thought what she was doing was justified. " There now all my friends know your face and that you are a cheater. Hopefully this will prevent them from wasting their time with you like I have." Following her angry words and text her signal went out again causing Cassie to nearly lose her mind as she desperately wanted to keep ranting about how much of a cheater Sandy was to all of her friends. Knives in my Heart
Sandy wasnt to sure what was going on. Callie was one moment, buried in her phone. Sandy watched Scatter as he sung the Pokemon to sleep. The Wigglytuff fell to the ground, clearly caught within a deep sleep. Scatter looked back to Sandy, nodding in approval of her move choice. However, not everyone was so pleased with the choice.
"But it wasn't um...wasn't unfair I..." Scatter's mellow expression turned to one of concern as Sandy was starting to become scared. They had never come across someone like this before. He exchanged concerned glances with Berry. However, his tail didn't begin lashing until she flashed a photo of Sandy. "Hey I-- I told you not to do that...I...I.." Her voice sounded pleading, and Berry had enough. <<That's it, we need a Bodyguard!>> Berry concluded as she hopped up, pressing the button on one of the Pokeballs resting on Sandy's belt. It cracked open, revealing a very familiar fire rat.
Munchy's ears twitched as Berry quickly relayed the story to him, and he glanced back at Sandy, the slight tearing at the corners of her eyes enough to make him growl lowly. <<Oi. You take another picture and I'm going to burn that thing to a crisp.>> his tone was threatening , and he stood in front of Sandy defensively though she tried to ward him off, tried telling him it was okay. But his glare would not leave Callie for a moment.
Scatter turned back to the sleeping Wigglytuff. He had to carry on with this battle. So he began calling up an Ice Beam, his breath growing colder at each passing second until an icy orb formed at the back of his throat.

Callie seemed to be a bit more irate compared to the start of the battle, and although it had gone in her favor for the majority of the time, it still seemed as though she were dragging it through mud. The process could have at least been more enjoyable (and quicker) if she could get her nose out of the phone. But, her fingers and thumbs were whirling on the touch-pad as she posted angrily to Chatter. She'd probably feel bad in twenty minutes and take it all down. That is, unless it went viral. It could be the chance she needed! "WigglyTUDE, C'mon, let's get up and finish this. We still need to get to the groomers so I can post the before and after pics for Clef." The words fell on sleeping ears, so Tude might has well have been deaf.
Munchy was on the defensive, and as soon as Callie saw the firey rat, all bits of 'cheating' had been dissipated. "OH. My. Gosh. He is just soooo cute! I think I made him mad though. Hold that pose, little guy!" Callie snapped a photo, ignoring the battle at hand to dote on the Quilava. "I think my Chatter friends will forgive you since I got a picture, hold on, lemme check..." As flighty as she was, she had luck on her side at least. Clef-xoxo had been one challenge enough, but WigglyTUDE was best put down quickly while it slept. Scatter felt the same way, probably, and was already charging up beam.
While Munchy and Sandy dealt with Callie, Scatter released the frozen beam that had gathered in the back of his throat. Time seemed to stop, practically frozen, as the icy blast struck the sleeping Pokemon. Although it did not wake, the plush fat kept the Wigglytuff safe from freezing or getting too much damage. WigglyTUDE shivered, and Callie crossed her arms. "What if I made you my profile pic for a week or so? Would that get you up?" Silence. "Well, I guess i'll have to think of something else. I can't change it anyway out here. Signal is so bad..."

Sandy looked down at Munchy as he continued to growl. He didn't like this woman and he was inclined to let her know. Though she reacted to him in a way Sandy hadn't...well, expected. Most people were scared of Munchy, but it was almost like Callie was immune to anything and everything. Sandy took a deep breath. She really didn't care for the internet, and she didn't care about forgiveness from Callie's hoarde of internet friends. What she wanted was to be finished with this battle already.
Scatter, had been letting his cold throat warm up, watching flecks of ice fall from the Wigglytuff's ears. But he snorted at Callie's words. How stupid was this woman supposed to be again? He shook his head. Hopefully the rest of this battle, wouldn't go too horribly. He looked back to the other Pokemon, still napping on the floor. He wasn't sure what he would do when it woke up, but he'd figure it out. Maybe his ability would save him. But was this thing even a girl? He didn't have time to think on it.
"I...I really don't have anything to be forgiven for..." Sandy answered shyly. "I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, and you were going to try and use the same move." It was probably lost on Callie's ears, but the Pokemon had never heard Sandy so totally irritated before. "Scatter, use Double Slap!." The cat charged towards it this time, turning last second to attempt to tail slap it however many times he could. (Count, ??/400) (Scatter uses Doubleslap.)

As Callie fiddled with her phone, a song began to play from it, the sound tinny but obnoxiously loud. "WAKE UP!" Callie shrieked over the music, cheeks splotchy with anger as she glared at her still slumbering Wigglytuff. Though WigglyTUDE's ears twitched from the noise, she remained in dreamland for now, oblivious to her trainer's furious huffs before she turned off the song. "Oh I'm so going to make Clef my profile picture for like, a solid month. And no groomer for you either! Ugh, you're so undependable." Tapping away on the electronic device, Callie once again disengaged herself from the battle in her quest to acquire a decent enough signal through the persistent fog.
Scatter, rolling his eyes at this insufferable woman, leapt through the fog like a phantom feline. His steps quiet but steady, the Delcatty picking up speed before whirling round with his tail tensed up tightly. One solid slap to WigglyTUDE made her body jiggle from the impact, an effect that rippled over most of her body. Scatter turned again nimbly, the second slap's sound almost muffled by the plushy skin. A third rotation was all the feline could manage before he became mildy nauseated from the attack, the final slap cracking right off WigglyTUDE's head so loudly it was incredible the dozing Pokémon didn't stir from the force.
A camera shutter rang out in the silence that followed, Callie grinning manically to herself as she snapped a picture of Scatter. "So like, where did you find that kitty cat? SO cute. I could definitely replace WigglyTUDE with one!" the woman babbled, flashing a bubbly grin at Scatter as he returned to Sandy. Callie ran extremely hot and incredibly cold, her interest in the battle peaking and waning at seemingly random intervals. Thankfully WigglyTUDE remained blissfully ignorant of her trainer's callous words, faint snores still drifting out.

Knives in my Heart
It took a lot to actually bother Sandy, who was usually more docile than anyone you could hope to find. But this woman had been riling her up since the start of this seemingly never ending battle, and Sandy had almost never wanted to be done with a person so badly. Her Pokemon were tanky, an attribute that a lot of her Pokemon didn’t share at the moment. They could take a lot of hits, and dish out just as many and sometimes even twice as painfully. The way Scatter’s ears flicked back and forth told her that he too was annoyed at every word that left this woman’s mouth. If there was ever a time to leave, it was before her Pokemon resorted to pleasantries.
“Listen um….Callie, was it?” Sandy asked as the woman continued to yell at sleepy Wigglytuff, fairly uncomfortable with what she had been witnessing up to this point in time. With the amount of time that she stood with her nose in her phone, the harder it became for Sandy to understand how her Pokemon listened to her in the first place. “I’m…n-not a lifecoach or anything, but I really think you may want to treat your Pokemon better. Neither of them needs to be better than the other.” She took a few steps forward and kneeled beside Scatter, placing her hand on his head briefly. “Isn’t that right boy?” Scatter let out a purr, nuzzling slightly into her hand.
<<Guess so. Though we all know I’m better than the turtle.>>
<<Listen, you know- nothing Feline. You--!>>
“The point I’m trying to make is,” Sandy continued, cutting Berry off before she and Scatter could start an all-out war. “Is that you probably shouldn’t threaten your Wigglytuff with…” She trailed off at Callie’s next comment, exchanging looks with Scatter as it seemed clear to her the woman heard absolutely nothing of what she said.
<<Please don’t tell her where my Kin live. They’d never forgive me.>> It seemed however Sandy was equally as exhasperated, throwing her hands up as she stood back up. “Scatter…D-Double Slap. Just Double Slap this battle into a void please….ugh…” She didn’t mean to sound rude at this point, but Callie had been doing it the whole battle so surely she could stand for Sandy doing the same in a moment of irritation. She returned to her place while Scatter gladly leapt forward once again.

Having braved the chance to kindly tell Callie she might want to consider treating her Pokemon better, Callie shot her a rather disinterested look from the top of her cellphone as she fiddled around with it. " Uhh. Lame. Not like you have to put up with them. And you have suuuuuuuuper cute Pokemon so easy for you to say. There's a reason why WigglyTUDE is named that way. Too much at-ti-tude. Toooootes." Huffing as she put down her cellphone once more, she sighed as her Pokemon appeared to be still sleeping on the job. " Like, whatever. Not as if I wanted to win this stupid fight or anythin'." Rolling her eyes, Callie seemed to not hear Sandy's words. Thankfully inaudible it seemed, the prompt for Scatter to DESTROY this bratty teen so they could getaway was promptly taken up. Or maybe it was the threat of the spoilt soul finding out where its kind lived and putting them through the same agonising hell. Speeding forward to the completely vulnerable Wigglytuff that rocked backwards and forwards, soundly asleep, the feline Pokemon raised its paws and began dabbing forth with a slap like force to its movements. Hitting once. Twice. THRICE. It appeared no end was in sight. There was more however. These moves weren't your average Double Slap consistency. They were backed up with a critical strike that were laying into the pink puff. Not stopping at a fourth blow, Scatter raised his final paw before dabbing across a considerable blow to the Pokemon and delivering the fifth and final hit. Tumbling backwards, its voice weakly crying out as it awoke from its slumber, it lay on the ground, not responding albeit a twitch. " Uhh." Scoffed Callie as she saw her Pokemon lying there. " You can, like, stop playin' dead y'knooooow. Gosh." Almost as if cutting into her Pokemon's element of surprise, the Wigglytuff sighed as it lay face down. Deciding to finally get up, the Pokemon flipped forward, it's face wide awake and looking terrifying. " My Wiggly can totally do better. Double Slap!" Ordering her Pokemon to attack, the Pokemon wobbled forward, whisking its arms from side to side as it raked away at Scatter. Nowhere near as impressive, Sandy's Pokemon was able to dodge at least one of the blows meaning a total of four hits made their mark. Realising her attempt had fallen short, Callie let out a massive scream. Although... It would turn out it wasn't because of her Pokemon's battling short comings. " WHY IS THERE NO SIGNAL?!" She had returned to her phone, trying to reconnect. Trainer Battle

Callie was one of those things that Sandy couldn’t wait to leave behind, had she been totally honest. She never liked thinking badly of anyone who didn’t initially deserve it but she wasn’t sure if this woman heard herself talk or if she did, which would have been even worse. If she actually heard herself and continued talking the way she did. Scatter’s ears perked upwards, and then fell as he looked back at Sandy, who seemed frustrated, and he understood why completely.
<<Come on, Sand, we’ve gotta-- >> Though he paused, his ears picking up the sounds of Callie’s irritating high pitched voice. Of course, the woman heard not a word that Sandy said, and she didn’t seem to intend to take a listen. Sandy stood behind him, pinching the bridge of her nose though clearly adamant not to allow anything else to fall on deaf ears. Scatter let out a sigh.
<<Up to me then.>> The Wigglytuff woke up with a start and tottered towards him, and he could not move past the blows it managed to strike, though he shook his head defiantly. He would not be brought down by this woman and her pampered, though he would admit, tough pets.
<<Yo, Wiggly, tell your trainer to... chill out!>> He said before shooting an Ice Beam towards his opponent. Berry pressed a paw into her face.
<<You did not just say that.>> But of course, of course he did. Stupid cat.

Getting quite tired herself of how long this battle had dragged out, Callie resorted to commanding out a move in a rather snappy manner. The quicker she could move away from this long standing fight, the quicker she could make it back to civilisation where technology was rampant and wireless signals were abundant. There were no doubt millions of updates on her news feed she would need to gloss over. Not to mention friend requests to accept, messages to reply to. If anything she was probably being forgotten and losing popularity because she hadn't updated in the last 5 minutes. " WigglyTUDE, Double Slap. HURRY IT UP, GOSH." Breathing heavily and with a reluctance to do anything for this uppity slag, the Pokemon turned and was greeted by Scatter's rather cool pun. Not quite realising what the feline Pokemon meant, it all became clear when the Pokemon magically firing off a powerful ice beam. Hitting the Wigglytuff square in the chest, it soon became encased in a solid chunk of ice. At this point, it had no stamina to fight it off and the thought of being trapped away in a prison of ice was a lot lore enticing than putting up with Callie's antics. Sandy had finally pulled through this hard slog! Trainer Battle

Scoffing at Sandy, it seemed she had made a rather powerful enemy here today. " Like, rude. Totes. #RUDE. This isn't over. You are soooooo gonna hear about this on Chatter." Flicking her hair off behind her shoulder as she turned and proceeded to vacate, it almost felt as if a depressive, looming cloud had been lifted from the area with her presence now gone.

Your Words in my Head
Knives in my Heart
Scatter shook his fur as the battle finally ended, and Sandy merely took what Callie said with less than a grain of salt, watching her as she stormed off talking about Chatter. Not yet up with the times herself, Sandy let out a sigh. “I’ll be happy if I never have to do that again.” She spoke finally, smiling at Scatter though he seemed to be focused on something else. He watched the beauty retreat before bounding forwards, plucking an envelope form the grass and turning, head held high as he trotted back to Sandy with an envelope between his teeth.
“What’s this?” Sandy asked as she took the envelope, blinking in surprise as she pulled the money from the envelope. “Did she drop this? Don’t you think we should --?“
<<No.>>
“But Scatter that’s—“
<<No.>> The same tone resounded from the Squirtle that had climbed onto her shoulder, and Sandy noticed as she looked up that by now Callie was long gone. There would be no chance to give this back, and part of Sandy was grateful if it meant she didn’t need to encounter her again. “Alright, fine. You guys win. We may as well get going, that battle took up most of the day and Hotaru needs some rest anyway.”
And so they spent the night at the Pokemon center, only to return to the route as soon as Daylight broke. Hotaru happily trotted after Sandy, rested and replenished since the fight with Callie the day before. Her tounge lolled out of the side of her mouth as Sandy tentatively placed a hand on her head. “Alright Hotaru, just be careful today okay? I know the Nurse said you were okay but don’t over exert yourself.” Berry, still sitting atop her shoulder, looked at her curiously.
<<I don’t think ‘easy’ is a setting on that one.>> She commented as the wolf took off like a shot, running around in circles ahead of them. Berry looked ahead of them, disinterested while Sandy smiled sheepishly. “At least she’s enthusiastic?”
<<And she has the attention span of a Magikarp!>> In any case, Sandy was just happy for a new day, after yesterday’s events she sincerely hoped they’d have an easier day today. Or at least that Callie had either moved on or was one of those women that didn’t wake up until noon. “Just keep an eye out Berry will you?” She asked as she turned her gaze to mess with her Pokenav, perhaps looking for directions or information.
<<Why me?!>>
“Berry.” Sandy’s tone was soft but stern, picking up on Berry’s tone of reluctance.
<<Fine. But if she breaks a paw doing what she’s doing I’m not responsible.>>

Recovering both mentally and physically from the previous encounter with Callie, Sandy and her team of Pokemon felt that it was best to stay the remainder of the night within the safety of the Pokemon Centre. Healing up her team and getting a good night's rest, it was tiring for all that had been in the presence of the idiotic Beauty. As soon as the sun rose up into the sky, the trainer decided that it was safe to emerge. Surely at this time of the day, Callie would still be fast asleep. Then she would have to do her make up and other things so basically, she was safe, for the mean time. Leaving the Pokemon Centre's automatic doors with both Berry and Hotaru by her side, the nearby route was a completely different experience in the light of day. The route was short but it was clad with various trees, bursting with lush, green foliage. There had to be a number of wild Pokemon in the area, hiding beneath the undergrowth. In order to level her team up, she had to encounter and defeat them.
Allowing Hotaru to run rampant whilst Sandy, herself, checked her Pokenav for some directions, it left the poor Squirtle in charge of keeping her eye on this over active canine. Running on ahead to explore, the Mightyena bounded into the thick ferns and began to sniff around in excitement. It was almost as if she had picked up on the scent of something. Nose going wild, Hotaru rustled closer and closer, until she found herself standing in front of an entrance to an underground burrow. Tongue hanging from her panting jaw, the Mightyena was about to let her nose investigate further when there was a sudden, frantic series of scratchings. Bursting out from the shadows, a wild Nidorina emerged, practically barking at Hotaru to back off and get away from her home. Snorting, growling and scratching her claws against the earth, the hostile Nidorina would end up attacking Hotaru unless she was pulled back.
