Thread Limitations Here on ZZ you are allowed more than 1 simultaneous thread for each of your characters. However, in order to keep things like Inventory & Experience manageably uncomplicated we have a few limitations: 1) Pokémon cannot be used in battle for 2 different simultaneous threads. If this does happen, whichever battle concludes first will have the experience applied and the other will net zero exp.
2) The Maximum number of modded threads per character is 3. This is broken down as follows... - 1 Solo Journey Thread (Quests, Dream Seer, the Gauntlet, etc) - 1 Event Thread (X-Mas, Festival, etc) - 1 Group Thread (Quests, Journeying together, or PvP*)
3) Additionally, you are allowed 1 Estate Modded thread, but it falls upon the Estate Owner to manage. They do not promise any timeline for replies like the staff-managed RP areas. Communicate with the owner if you want to RP in their estate.
4) Otherwise, you are allowed as many un-modded threads as you can handle.
*Note: PvP does not net any experience so it is not necessary to ask a mod to manage a for-fun battle.
Group Roleplaying The simplest way to start RPing with others is to create a thread with "Social" or just simply the word 'Open' in the title. The Group Page is usually only necessary for large groups of 4+ members or even clans who may want to stick together for a period of time to display all achievements by the group. It is possible to advance in one's journey as a group; though Gym Battles and some things do require it to be done solo. Groups can start anywhere in Johto if at least 1 character in the group has legitimately reached said location, but only if no modding is required. If the group is tackling a quest, for example the Slowpoke Well in Azalea, it would only be practical if all members of the group are that far advanced into the roleplay. Be warned, Group Threads (excluding quests) are not typically added to the Moderator Reply List. If you want to have a wild/NPC battle in a group thread, thus requiring a Moderator's attention, you must post a mod request and make it very clear when a mod is to jump in between the players. If it's a group journey thread just put [Mod] in the title so mods know to add it to the reply list from the get-go. You will still need to be clear when a mod is needed in the posting round.

Universal RP Areas (Ilex Forest, Whirl Islands, and Events) Universal RP areas are threads in which everyone participating is in the area at the same time and thus able to interact with one another without having to setup a specific group thread. Universal areas tend to have restricted thread creation so anyone in the area must RP with others in the same thread. However, there are differences to a Universal RP area over a regular group thread: - Due to the nature of Universal RP threads, the Poke Radar does not apply.
- The maximum number of wild pokémon that will appear is 3 at any given time, no matter how many trainers are in the area. This number may be RNG'd.
This means that if there are more trainers than pokemon you will all have to decide amongst each other who gets to participate in the encounter. Sometimes a mod may spawn with a particular target mentioned. If so, that trainer will have first dibs.
- If there is an active battle in a Universal area, a new set of pokémon will not be spawned in the area until either 1) the existing battle finishes, or 2) the 5 day mark (minimum). Whichever of these happens first.
- Since Universal threads are 'group' adjacent, any spawns will be treated as a group battle when possible. So if there are two trainers and two pokemon spawn it will be a double battle; not two solos. Triple battles will generally be avoided but they aren't impossible.
- Normally it is only possible to capture 1 pokemon in a battle. For Universal threads each battle participant may capture 1 pokemon in the same battle so long as it isn't the same pokemon.
- Biking in (non-quest) universal areas comes with its own risks. If you try to bike in an area with other trainers who do not own a bike, you must dismount and travel on foot.
Island Trial Amulet Encountering Alolan pokemon also has a few special rules associated with them for Universal RP threads. These are as follows: - As long as 1 person has an amulet in the area an Alolan may spawn and anyone is allowed to capture it.
- Alolan pokemon target trainers with an amulet first. As such they are given priority for battle, but may choose to turn it down.
- Only the strongest Amulet's bonuses are considered if multiple are in the area.
- Encounter % chance is lowered by 3% for every trainer without an amulet in the area.
- The number of Alolans possible simultaneously cannot exceed the number of trainers with amulet.
