Ekans may have been hit with a Gust attack, but she held strong, able to finish the job she was given. "Ekans!" The snake Pokémon then called to her trainer, but Venom had never taken his eyes off the battle for even a second. "I know Ekans, good work. Ill take it from here." The gripped his next Sport Ball, and took a deep breath, getting ready to throw it. "Okay, lets try this again. Sport Ball go!" Using all of his strength, Venom tossed the Sport Ball right at the now paralyzed Butterfree. After the butterfly Pokémon got sucked inside, the ninja narrowed his eyes at the shaking sphere, hoping it would work this time.

With the clock still ticking, and another Sport Ball destroyed by the wild Bug types, Venom was beginning to feel himself slowly backed into a corner. Even so, this ninja was no quitter. Gritting his teeth, Venom quickly came up with their next battle plan. "Okay Ekans, this time, give Butterfree a double dose of your Poison Sting!" Ordering Ekans to use her weakest move twice, Venom hoped it would be enough to weaken Butterfree to the point of capture, while still keeping the butterfly Pokémon healthy enough to score them big points. "Ekans! Ekans!" Opening her mouth up nice and wide, Ekans fired a barrage of poisonous darts at the flying Bug type Pokémon.

Venom got his grin back once again, as he watched his snake deal double damage to the butterfly. The ninja was still a little unsure though, not sure if it would be enough to get him his first capture of the Bug Catching Contest. But as the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained. "That was great Ekans, now its my turn again! Go Sport Ball!" After pulling out his fourth Sport Ball of the contest, Venom threw it as hard as he could at the wild Butterfree. Hopefully four would be the his lucky number.

Once the Sport Ball stopped shaking, Venom smiled, walked over, and picked it up. "Alright, we got our first capture of the contest." The ninja then turned to his trusted serpent, and gave her a smile as well. "Nicely done Ekans. Thank you." Ekans was happy to receive such praise from her master, and blushed, while smiling back at him. "Ekans. Ekans." Venom put the Butterfree's Sport Ball away for now, and turned his attention towards another area of the National Park. "This is good, but I doubt it'll be enough to win the contest. We need to find and capture something even better Ekans. Lets keep looking. We don't have a lot of time left." With that, Venom and Ekans headed off to another part of the park, hoping to find the best Bug type Pokémon this contest had ever seen before time ran out.

As soon as Venom heard the sound of movement, he quickly turned, and waited for what ever it was to show itself just like always. However, the second he saw what it was, a great number of sparkles appeared in Venom's eyes, and his composure vanished almost instantly. "Oh my Arceus! A Venipede! This is the first time Ive seen a Poison type from the Unova region! So cool!" The Poison type trainer got a big smile on his face, as his gaze locked onto the small centipede Pokémon before him. Seeing this, Ekans blushed out of embarrassment, looked down, and shook her head. "Ekans." Pointing right at the wild Poison/Bug type Pokémon, Venom gave Ekans her next order. "Ekans, we have to catch this one! Use Glare!" Ekans looked over at the Venipede, and sighed, but still obeyed her trainer's order. "Ekans! Ekans!" The snake Pokémon gave Venipede a truly intimidating Glare attack, hoping to get this over and done with quickly.

Just as she'd done throughout this entire contest so far, Ekans had set the stage perfectly. As Venipede stood there, paralyzed and unable to move, Venom pulled out another of his Sport Balls. The ninja didn't mean to get ahead of himself, but he didn't think the centipede Pokémon would be as difficult to catch as the last two Bug type Pokémon he and Ekans had encountered. Still, his next move would be the determining factor on that. "There's no way Im letting you escape. Catch it now Sport Ball!" Venom threw his fifth Sport Ball right at the paralyzed Poison/Bug type, never once losing the sparkle in his eyes, as he continued to stare at it right up until it got sucked inside the orb.

Venom took a moment to watch the Butterfree fly away, but he didn't care. The ninja was far more focused on his latest capture, as he smiled, walked over, and picked up the Sport Ball containing Venipede. "Yes! We got Venipede!" Venom was very excited, thinking that this Venipede might make a great addition to Team Toxic once the bug catching contest was over. However, the young man's attention was quickly diverted once again, as he turned to Ekans just in time to watch her start glowing. The Poison type trainer was surprised, and also very excited once again, knowing what this meant. The snake Pokémon continued to shine brilliantly, and grow in size, while also changing her appearance as well.
When the light finally faded away, a new Pokémon had appeared before Venom in Ekans' place, one that could finally look at him at eye level. "Arbok!" The newly evolved cobra Pokémon hissed her name out, showing off her new level of power. "Alright! This is awesome!" Unable to contain his excitement, Venom shouted out, clearly very happy with this new development. Arbok smiled at her trainer, and blushed too, happy that he liked her new form so much. Once Venom's excitement finally died down, he turned once more, noticing the Weedle that had appeared before them now. True, Weedle was a Poison type Pokémon, but Venom was far more interested in the Venipede he'd just captured.
Besides, he wanted to see Arbok's new powers for himself. "Alright Arbok, lets see how strong you are now. Go get that Weedle! Crunch attack!" Venom pointed down at the wild Weedle, and Arbok grinned, baring her fangs. "Ar! Arbok!" The cobra Pokémon lunged forward, right down at the Weedle, her mouth open up wider then ever before.
OOC: Ekans evolves into Arbok, and replace Bite with Crunch please. Thanks.

Paled and shaking the little bug realized just how much over its head it had gotten but... It wasn't a coward. In an effort to show some of its own mettle it whipped its stinger out at the retreating head of Arbok.
