Moderator License

Modding is the lifeblood of roleplaying. It is a force that binds us and allows rich stories to unfold. Sometimes it can appear daunting and complex, especially as we use damage calculators and mechanics that mimic the Pokémon video games. We find that this creates structure and fairness upon which depth and creativity can thrive. However, modding is not all about number-crunching. Roleplaying as NPCs in quests, trials, and other challenges offers a perspective outside of your own characters and allows you to engage with others, creating a vibrant community.

We believe that everyone has the skills to mod, remembering that the most important skill is of course writing! With the introduction of the Moderator License ordinary members can take the reigns of the NPCs at their leisure and enrich the journey of their fellows without the stress of being staff!

To obtain a Moderator License you must have demonstrated a proficiency in modding in the past, or have completed the Apprenticeship Program.

Depending on your experience we may recommend taking the Apprenticeship Program and obtain the license that way.

Benefits

Aside from being able to give back to the site, there are a number of other reasons you may like to start modding today. Firstly, you are entitled to mod points and some of the other perks enjoyed by current staff. Check out the Moderator Reward System to learn more!

Also, once you have a license it's yours forever. Along with it comes the title of Technician, which will allow you to update character profiles even if you are no longer a moderator.

I'd like to apply for a Mod License!^^

Additional comments: I have ample experience as a Moderator and over the past few weeks I've been shaking off the rust somewhat and modded a variety of threads including Alolan Trials which I wasn't really familiar with to begin with!

Additional comments: Not certain how "active" I will be (since then I would just have signed up as mod, if needed), but there have been a few times, where mods have been busy where I had thought about taking a post or two, and with this it would be possible.

Additional comments: I haven't been around for a long time, I probably won't carry on with my own characters either. But I check back regularly and really like the progress that the forum is making. Every now and again, I really want to help with modding but my life has changed quite a bit so signing back up to be a mod just to disappear indefinitely again felt wrong. With this, I feel like I can get my mod fix here and there but not feel so tied down to mod regularly or come up with forum ideas (Ill just feel guilty if I'm not 110% active as a colour) mainly due to life. Hoping to be considered, even if its just once in a blue moon.

Regardless, the forum is doing great, well done for all the work that's been put into this place.

Additional comments: Like Morri idk if I ever will pick up my old characters, but reading some old threads I had an absolute passion for moderating and personal stories to make everyone’s experience more unique. So I’d love to be helping take the pressure off of the staff team when I can by taking some of the current members into their own little side stories!

Additional comments: I am hoping to be much more active, and have been able to get on much more than I used to be. I loved being a mod, and I would love to help take some of the weight off of the staff by taking care of some posts, and maybe help create some neat stories for people!

Additional comments: I would like to go on permanent record as saying this is a fantastic idea. Last time I got back here I was itching to mod and sat on my thumbs wondering if I should apply for staff before I knew I had the time. Being able to help out as and when I can without the pressure of sticking around as staff is just a great concept and I wish I'd been the one to come up with it. If/when I remember how to organise myself (or when I graduate, whichever comes first!) I'll probably return to staff, but for the time being gimme one of those fancy license thingies!

Additional comments: Was also a game corner mod twice. I know I have been iffy with posts and all but I think it was just due to my mindset I had that sort made me procrastinate accidently. Gotta love the mind, in any case. I think it would be nice to have a licence to show I can do it without risking my position on site and without making myself procrastinate. I do understand, however, if I am denied.

We've made quite a few tweaks and changes so it'd be good for you to familiarize yourself with them ^^

That is great to hear Silverwing, however, as with Blaze you would need to finish the Trainee program first and your activity has been very spotty. We'd like to see you back around contributing where you can and just being a part of the community for a while before becoming a moderator.

However, if you've read the State of Emergency thread then you'll know that at the current time all members can moderate. If you want a reply to your thread, you reply to someone elses.
