I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS As the wild owlet Pokemon sputtered and coughed, it was probably clear that it did not like Sigurd's underhanded tactic. It was almost as if Sigurd himself was mocking the wild Hoothoot for being too slow on getting its prey. "What did you think of that, slowpoke? You can't catch up to me, no matter what you do!" Sigurd squawked out in such a boisterous way, and it may have ruffled the other Hoothoot's feathers a little. Perhaps he was showing himself off as the alpha male of a flock of birds, but he was goading the wild Hoothoot about it as a display of mocking arrogance. "Nice job, Sigurd! Let's follow that up with a Tackle attack!" The tiny bird Pokemon began taking to the skies as he somersaulted into the air before heading straight towards his opponent while intending to knock it over. She was proud of Sigurd's progress, especially since he did solo a Wurmple by himself. Perhaps he might consider himself as an example to her other Pokemon that they should follow his tactics in battle. However, he was being unnecessarily rude to the wild Hoothoot as experts of bird Pokemon would say that birds were territorial and needed to assert dominance over smaller flying type Pokemon despite their own size. Despite Sigurd's tiny size, he was the type to be boisterous in a battle with other bird Pokemon. She did feel bad for the wild Hoothoot, but she tried staying out of it somewhat. At the end of the day, wise people would never get involved in a fight between two birds who just wanted the same dinner they were pursuing. The girl assumed that because the Wurmple was caught already, the smaller owlet Pokemon would blame them for letting it go hungry, and dragging it into a battle. With such aggressiveness coming from the petite Hoothoot, it was best to let Sigurd handle this shortstack anyway. [ OOC ] @staff | 322 words to egg MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Used Tackle! Sigurd [Keen Eye]: Normal ... Used Tackle! The hoothoot cawed angrily, annoyed at the provocation of the pidgey. It was already hard enough just competing with the other Hoothoot in the area, but now this pidgey dared to show its face in the night time? It was bad enough all the squabbling during the day of the diurnal birds, waking Hoothoot from its slumber, but then when it was awake, now it found that it had to compete with one of them for food? Well if this pidgey wanted a fight, it was going to get one. The hoothoot charged towards Sigurd. Sigurd was no slouch however and had already made its way into the skies, preparing to divebomb straight into the wild hoothoot. The hoothoot flapped its wings quickly, meeting Sigurd head-on, and colliding in the air. Since it was attacking from below, gravity was not on its side, and it sustained far more damage than it had dealt. "HOO! HOOOO!" The hoothoot shouted once more as if to taunt the bird back, puffing its feathers out. THE NIGHT TIME IS MY TIME!

{ } The little owl Pokemon attempted to tackle the opponent down with a successful hit despite having worse accuracy. As both of them had collided into the air, the poor small Hoothoot was knocked out of the air though it seemed to retain its anger towards the tiny bird Pokemon. "Ouch! Why you...!" Imaginary steam had risen from the Pidgeys head as Sigurd was knocked back from the impact, and landed on the ground with a thud. How could this wild Hoothoot have a good aim despite Sigurd throwing sand at its eyes? "Sigurd, are you okay?" She asked her Pokémon with concern for his well-being. The Pidgey got up, and nodded back to her in a reassuring way. The Hoothoot bragged about the nighttime being its time where it was more attuned to. Before Sigurd could retort, she gave him the order. "Sigurd, let's try using Tackle again!" He soared through the air with grace before attempting to dive-bomb at the Hoothoot again. The petite bird Pokemon was only focused on slinging retorts and insults during the heat of battle, perhaps he might've gotten the Hoothoot too fired up in this case. Hoothoot was the one true ruler of the night.
And this...this BIRD OF THE DAY had the nerve to attack it? With a human at its side no less! That was probably the most despicable thing about all this. What did a Pidgey know about the beautiful nighttime and all that it had to offer? It was beside itself, this bird would never understand the true beauty, not like it did. So it had to defeat this one now, even if its eyes were burning because of the sand that had been tossed into its face earlier, so what? It could still fight, and it probably saw better in the night than this bird anyway! Was...it even dark out? Hoothoot couldn't tell anymore, not with the sand in its eyes.
But now that it thought about it, it was hungry. Perhaps it spent too long thinking about that, because Sigurd came down upon it with another tackle, draining some more of its fight before moving back to his trainer. The Hoothoot stumbled. Oh, now they were going to get it. Well, the Pidgey would have gotten it, you would just have to take its word for it, because instead of hitting with a tackle, Hoothoot slid on its face, past Sigurd, to the trainer's feet, before squawking loudly and quickly rolling back to its side of the field.
Some human didn't deserve to touch it.
Not the PHARAOH OF DARKNESS!! It looks like blooming weather! (No effect!)! Have some Battle Music! Wild Hoothoot |Level 6| HP: 56% (14/25) Status: -1 ACC Hoothoot used Tackle! Hoothoot had a little too much of the Sand you gave it earlier and missed! Surrender unto me all your worldly food items, for I am the BEACON OF THE NIGHT!
Amaryllis's Sigurd |Level 6| HP: 81% (18/22) Status: Normal Sigurd used Tackle! Sigurd did 6 Damage! That's some nice accuracy you have there...would be a shame if someone were to....use Sand Attack again.

{ } As the wild Hoothoot tried to fight back, it ultimately slipped and fell where it was rolling away to her feet before it rolled away to the battlefield. Sigurd was getting pretty annoyed by the fact that it was proclaiming itself the bird of the night. Perhaps he should be trash- talking the poor Hoothoot some more, considering that it couldn't aim to beat him in the air. What a joke. To be graced by a nocturnal bird Pokemon who fancied itself as an Emperor of Darkness, only to fall short of its aim not being the greatest due to literal sand in its eyes. However, the female trainer had other plans besides having Sigurd bully it. Taking out a Pokeball, she then chucked it straight at the wild Hoothoot's face. Some might say it would be Pokemon abuse by a bunch of Pokémon rights activists, but this was all part of a normal routine with average Pokemon Trainers, nothing too serious with wanting to capture wild Pokemon, and stripping away their freedom, no. If anything, the Hoothoot could be useful in navigating dark areas at nighttime. OOC: @staff | 187 words for egg | Used a Pokeball MADE BY VEL OF GS

The twilight overload's bright orange eyes would normally grant it with amazing vigilance but so focused was the Hoothoot on the battle with the day bird, that it was completely caught off-guard by the capture attempt. Nor did it help that some of the grit was still in its eyes. The Poke Ball struck the owl exactly where Amaryllis had aimed it, right between its glowing orbs. Once... Twice... Thrice...

{ } With the capture as a complete success, she picked up the Pokeball containing the newly caught Hoothoot and put it away as Sigurd returned back to his cozy perch. "You did well, Sigurd. I assume Cherrygrove shouldn't be too far off now." She walked further on as the moon shone down on the duo during the night. She had gotten the hang of battling, but there was still more to come as the horizon showed the lights of a city up ahead. It wouldn't be too long that she should be reaching the next city as other new wonders would greet them as soon they arrived. Sigurd yawned as he tried not to nod off to sleep though she would recall him back inside the confines of his Pokeball nonetheless if he needed a good sleep on the way to Cherrygrove. As the night went on, it was also pretty clear that she should be hitting the hay at a resting place in the city. Some may wonder...what kind of Pokémon reside near the city's streets as of now?
