In reply to Venom's challenge a notable voice yelled out at them just as they started running through the grass. "SCYYYTHER!"It was loud enough for many to potentially hear, but the ninja would undoubtedly make sure he was the first to arrive. Upon entering the presence of the proud mantis pokémon it locked its arms and stared at the boy and his serpent. It did its best to hide the shiver that shot down its back upon meeting eyes with Arbok. Shiny: Oc3KsSBG1-421-42

As soon as Venom and Arbok heard the call of one of the two Bug type Pokémon they'd come to find, Venom got a big grin on his face, as they both turned and rushed towards the source of the call as quickly as they could. As one would expect from a ninja, Venom was the first trainer to arrive on the scene, with Arbok not far behind him. Venom was honestly a little surprised that his new plan actually worked, but he was definitely not complaining. "Found you. Arbok, we cant let this one get away from us. Show Scyther your Glare attack!" Venom's confidence and determination had been renewed, and Arbok was overjoyed by this, as she quickly followed her trainer's order. "Arbok!" The Poison type Pokémon gave Scyther a far more intimidating glare then when they first crossed paths a moment ago, getting things ready for her trainer. Venom was way ahead of her, as he already held a fresh Sport Ball in his grip, waiting for Arbok's Glare to take effect.

Used False Swipe! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used Glare! Arbok's stare intensified suddenly. A spark emanating from her slit pupils and sending a more harmful shiver down the mantis' spine. Scyther suddenly found its muscles stiff. It tried to keep pumped though, unlocking its bladed arms and spreading its stance for an attack. It was a little encumbered compared to what is usually witnessed with this species, but the bug type made its way forward for a harmless slash along the serpent's body.

Scyther's attack didn't cause Arbok very much distress at all, and with her work now done, she knew that he one and only objective was to stay strong while her trainer did the rest. Venom knew very well that even while paralyzed, capturing an uninjured Scyther would be no easy task, but just like with everything else he'd done since arriving in Johto, he was more then ready to give a try and hope for the best. "Alright. Sport Ball, go!" The ninja once again made full use of his training, throwing the orb with all his might, aimed right at the center of Scyther's face. As the mantis Pokémon was swallowed up by the small device, Venom and Arbok hoped it would do its job, but also prepared themselves for another round, just in case. Venom grabbed another Sport Ball from his pocket, and Arbok braced herself to take another attack from the Bug/Flying type.

Used Pursuit! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used a Sport Ball! Broke Out! The emblem on the special contest ball was a blur as the ball whipped through the air toward Scyther. Sucking it inside, the bug pokémon immediately set to thrashing about in order to escape. Once, twice... on the third rock the device gave in to the beating and cracked open. Scyther, still materializing in a haze of white light, wasted no time in setting forth to attack the Arbok.

Arbok was more then willing to take the hit, wanting nothing more then to buy her trainer all the time he needed to capture this Bug type. Besides, Scyther's attacks didn't hurt her very much anyway. Meanwhile, Venom grit his teeth, seeing how close his first Sport Ball came to capturing the Scyther before them. "Tch. Just what Id expect from a Bug type like you. This isn't gonna be easy, but like the saying goes. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Lets try again. Sport Ball, get it!" Repeating his actions before the previous round, Venom tossed a second Sport Ball at the wild Scyther, refusing to give the mantis Pokémon even a single moment to recover. The ninja still had plenty of Sport Balls left, but he still hoped that this wouldn't drag on too long, for Arbok's sake. The damage she was taking might have been small, but Venom knew that small damage still adds up over time.

Couldn't move! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used a Sport Ball! Broke Out! Another ball sucked the mantis in, but again it fought tooth and nail against the device. The effort to crack it open this time though proved too much for its paralyzed muscles to then follow up with an attack so the bug type needed to take a moment and recover.

Venom and Arbok were both relieved that she got a turn to relax, having not taken any damage, but the Poison type trainer and Pokémon were also a bit frustrated that their capture attempt failed again. "Arbok. Arbok." Venom nodded at his friend's words, grabbing yet another Sport Ball from his pocket. "Yeah, I agree. This Scyther is a resilient one for sure, but that's all the more reason why we should capture it. It'd be a shame to let such a tough and strong willed Pokémon get away." The ninja was very determined to capture this Scyther, knowing that his new friend, Shinya, could really use a Bug type Pokémon like this one. Additionally, Venom had other motivations for capturing this Scyther unharmed, well aware of some other Pokémon that Shinya wanted, as well as the methods to obtain them. "Lets give this another try. Third times the charm. Sport Ball, go!" Venom tossed his third Sport Ball of his battle at the mantis Pokémon, hoping that Scyther had finally lost the strength to fight back against its grip from the inside.

False Swipe! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used a Sport Ball! Broke Out! One again did Venom show that he wanted this rare Pokemon, he threw the Sport ball. The Sport ball flew through the air landing on the Scyther. One shook, two shook and out flew the Scyther. The pokemon waved it's blade-like arms around angrily and struck the Arbok with a False Swipe attack.

Venom and Arbok could once again see that this mantis Pokémon would not be captured easily, but this poisonous pair were never ones to give up easily either. Still, after several failed capture attempts, Venom's patience were starting to wear thin, as he grabbed yet another Sport Ball from his pocket. "Okay Arbok, if this Sport Ball doesn't work, be ready to attack." The Poison type trainer was really hoping that he and Arbok would be able to capture this Bug type Pokémon without injuring it, but with each round that went by, the odds of that kept looking slimmer and slimmer. "Arbok. Ar." Arbok nodded at her trainer's words, narrowing her eyes at Scyther, and taking a battle ready posture, ready to strike if the Bug type emerged from the next Sport Ball. "Good. Now Sport Ball, get it!" Venom tossed his next Sport Ball at the wild Scyther, hoping that in another few seconds, it wouldn't be wild anymore.

The scyther may not have been too impressive on the battlefront so far, but its resolve was noteworthy if not its resilience. Another sport ball was heaved open but the effort once again left the bug type's muscles stiff thanks to the paralysis still afflicting it.

With another Sport Ball wasted, both Venom and Arbok let out heavy sighs, their frustration growing higher by one stage. Both trainer and Pokémon then shot the mantis Pokémon a glare, and Venom didn't reach for another Sport Ball just yet. "Okay, I guess we're doing this the hard way. Arbok, give Scyther some motivation to stay inside the ball next time! Use Poison Sting!" Venom may have been frustrated, but even he didn't wish to cause the Bug/Flying type too much harm, as he called for Arbok's weakest attack, then waited to see exactly how much damage it would cause. "Ar!" Arbok was quick to obey, having been given another free turn, courtesy of Scyther's paralysis. The cobra Pokémon opened her jaws up as wide as she could, then shot out a barrage of poisonous stingers right at Scyther, getting a bit annoyed by its resilience herself.

Used False Swipe! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used Poison Sting! The bug readied as the viper reared back. The poisonous stingers shot out towards the mantis, digging into the tough green body armor. Normally there wasn't much around that could significantly harm Scyther but Arbok was a cut above everything normally around the park. With a powerful leap forward it attempted to strike back just as hard, though between the snake's intimidating appearance and general toughness the swipe would be but a pin prick in comparison.

Once again, Arbok is almost completely unfazed by Scyther's attack, not even flinching from the small amount of damage she was dealt. And with her job complete, Venom grabs his next Sport Ball from his pocket, ready to give this capture another go. It may have only been a single attack, but with the wide level gap between Arbok and Scyther, Venom hoped that this amount of damage would be enough to finally do the trick. If not, Arbok was ready, willing, and more then able to take another shot at the mantis Pokémon. "Scyther, your mine! Fly Sport Ball!" The ninja threw his next sphere at Scyther with all his strength, aiming for Scyther's right shoulder this time, as he's noticed that this Scyther always seems to strike at Arbok with its right blade, rather then its left. Scyther's right blade was clearly its dominate blade, and while most would aim for the weaker spots, aiming for the stronger opponents or areas was Venom's style.

Used Pursuit! Arbok [Intimidate]: Normal ... Used a Sports Ball! Broke Out! The sound of yet another ball was forced open after only one shake by the mantis would bring frustrations even higher. The bug itself even seemed to be getting more confident. With a huff it powered forward, albeit a little slowly, and swept in to Arbok's side to deliver a weak pushing blow. It looked as if it had expected the viper to attempt to move even the slightest, but so far this scyther hadn't been able to do anything to be worried about another attack.
