The young brown-haired teenager slowly walked out into the tall grass. Their long blades swept up and tickled his knees as he moved carefully through them, hunting for the bug Pokemon that liked to lay low and stay hidden between their green graces. Memories of the last competition flashed in the back of his mind, causing the young trainer to shudder with worry. This time, it would be different. He had to believe that they wouldn’t walk away empty handed. Perhaps, his problem lie in not knowing when to throw in the towel on a particular bug that looked like a winner, which inevitably caused him the fight? His newfound companion rushed around excitedly. The small, fire-breathing duck billed salamander jumped up and down as she raced across the ground. She spouted small puffs of flame from her lips sporadically, though most would dissipate in the open air within mere seconds. Zaiden gulped, reaching up to the back of his neck with his free arm, and began scratching the back of his neck. At least – if nothing else – he could train up his Pokemon and use this as an excuse to help her. Maybe? |

A few movements further out hinted of things moving around in the grass, probably scurrying away to safety. Zaiden’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the bright and beautiful butterfly. It fluttered on the open breeze that spun in the air around them. Leaves shifted from their homes in the canopies above and cascaded gently to the ground below. Small, white, and pink petals from the flowers in the treetops spun around as they drifted slowly to the ground below. For a second, the young lad could have sworn that the butterfly looked familiar. He shook his head, sure that he was just seeing things, as Takibi rushed out excitedly. “Hi! I’m ready to fight!” She announced, preparing a blast of fire inside of her cheeks that would never see the light of day as Zaiden tossed a Park Ball out in vain hopes of capturing such a beautiful creature.

"Fight?" the glimmering bug returned in near disgust. Immediately its wings were strongly aflutter, causing quite a little windstorm that caused the sport ball to spin off course and crack against the ground somewhere in the grass. Beautifly gasped as the device whipped by, apparently haven't not even seen it coming as it was so focused on the fire starter below. It huffed, visibly peeved, and sprinkled forth a cloud of yellow hued spores that settled themselves all over the young magby. Moves: Gust, Absorb, Stun Spore, Morning Sun

The fiery hot salamander’s eyes widened as the spores spread up into the air. Zaiden gasped and whistled, before quickly shielding his mouth with a piece of cloth and his hands. When Takibi turned around to see what her trainer was calling her attention for, he gestured towards the cloud of paralyzing spores and ushered her to quickly move out of the way. Of course she was going to run for the hills from this cloud! What else would she do?! The bright red Magby spun around and sped at the top of her feet through the tall green blades of grass, though the spores would envelope her all too easily. Takibi collapsed over, coughing and hacking as she tried to recollect herself. “What…ACK…did….COUGH….you do….ACK COUGH ACK…?!” Zaiden pulled out another Park Ball and tossed it at the beautiful butterfly.

SP32 Beautifly used Gust!
Beautifly was expecting Zaiden to try and throw another Sport Ball after missing the first time. The bug waited until the ball was about half way to it befire flying out of the way mocking him in the process. After having a bit of fun it unleashed a strong Gust towards Takibi causing quite a bit of damage. The Magby was able to keep fighting but between the Paralysis and the damage there was little hope of enduring another hit. Capture Roll: 15% chance (1-15 yes, 16-100 no) uxwykUZV1-1001-100

Zaiden's eyes widened as he watched the butterfly escape the second Park Ball. The strong gusts of wind whipped around the poor fire-bodied salamander and tore into her soft hide. To make matters worse, the paralyzing spores dug deep into her veins, causing her entire body to spasm and ache. Immediately and without a second thought, Zaiden scooped his small baby Pokemon up in his arms. He spun around on the tip of his toes and raced off through the tall blades of grass. They needed something a bit easier than that! Once he would hopefully escape safely, Zaiden would pull out some healing medicines and spray his Pokemon down to help Takibi recover.
Ooc: Running and then using Potion. And Paralyze Heal.

The mousy brown haired teenager stared tentatively at the small yellow insect. He carefully caressed one of the Park Balls that they had given him before the start of the event and bit his lower lip. Should he use the Park Ball straight out of the gate? Zaiden frowned as a flashback to recent events flickered through the recesses of his mind. No, that was too dangerous a move especially with young Takibi. Instead, Zaiden whistled to get his Pokemon’s attention, who spun around and stared at him. Then, the young trainer used his hands to signal for his Pokemon to use a powerful blast of flames at its opponent. If successful, Zaiden had already gripped a Park Ball to prepare to hurl it at his opponent.
OOC: Using Ember then Park Ball.

Zaiden rushed over to the tall blades of grass and scooped up the Park Ball. He stared down at the spherical device and smiled as he studied the Pokemon he had recently caught. Then, he turned away and returned back to the tall grasses. Two young boys pushed past Zaiden on either side as they scoured through the open park. "It should be over here!" One exclaimed excitedly. "There aren't any Genesect in this Park!" The other yelled back. "Yes there is. I'm positive I saw it here last time!" Zaiden shook his head silently and turned to walk in a different direction to see what he could find.

Zaiden’s eyes widened in disbelief as, yet another butterfly soared up into the air in front of them. He tilted his head and scratched the underside of his chin. What was this, the Butterfly Exhibit at their local Safari?! He had hoped to run across several different types of bug Pokemon – not just a bunch of flying beauties that would easily cause him to run for the hills with his baby Pokemon in-toe! He slapped his hand against his head as he shook it. Of course this wouldn’t be an easy task! Why should it be?! Ugh! He opened his jaw in frustration and as he struggled to speak, Takibi fired away with a powerful Ember attack.
OOC: Using Ember. Also forgot to note and choose last round. I think I will have Takibi learn Clear Smog in place of Leer. =)

Zaiden’s warm brown eyes widened with anxiety and disbelief. Was this going to be an uphill battle that would only prove to get worst as he fought against the odds?! He turned to his small companion as Takibi waved her arms frantically at her sides and spouted small spurts of flames from the tip of her mouth. He knew that she wanted to keep fighting and he trusted that her spirit wouldn’t give up. But, the young lad doubted that she would manage much longer without some type of intervention. Zaiden whistled, catching Takibi’s attention, and directed her back to his side. He would pull out a Potion and spray her down, then allow her to rush back out into the fray as she fired off more fireballs from her mouth.
OOC: Using 1 Potion then using Ember.
