MOD NOTE: Fletchling NOT IN ACTIVE PARTY in thread! ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: -- | Time: ---
Zaiden watched his new Pokemon play around the sandy white beach as he released them from their respective balls. It felt nice to take a second back and relax, though the nagging insecurities and anxieties that welled up inside of his chest made that next to impossible for him to do. His rich brown eyes softened with a somber glow as he thought about Shinya’s previous comments on his personality. A deep frown furrowed on his lips, as though he had bitten into a really bad pepper and couldn’t shake the taste out of his mouth. What do trainers like that guy have to benefit from being so mean? Zaiden quietly thought to himself. If anything, I might have saved the poor Wimpod from that mean kid.
Yarite and Yadoku were the first to rush off without a second glance back at Zaiden. The scared water lizard scurried across the white sands in erratic patterns, zipping one way then that. As soon as Yadoku jumped past him, Yarite would immediately freeze up, then jump ten feet in the air and run off in a different direction. “Ah!” He screamed at the top of his lips, spooked when Yadoku snuck up from behind him and jumped over him. “Ack!” He squealed when Yadoku spun back around and rushed past once more from the front, even though he would the poisonous dart frog zipping by. “I’m not TASTY!” Yarite screamed, slamming his small fists against the ground.
Yadoku seemed to largely ignore the other Pokemon in his pursuit to scour the land of its valuable resources. He would eagerly snatch up every rock within the vicinity and run over to a large piece of driftwood. Within a small crevice that he had carved out underneath the driftwood, Yadoku began stacking the rocks in different piles. “All of you are so precious. Yes you are! And you’re all going to be mine forever, yes you are!” As soon as he each batch of rocks that he found to his heap, the Croagunk would spin back around and rush off across the vast white sands to collect more. “And no one’s going to ruin my rocks, no they won’t. Or I’ll shoot my poison all over their face. Oh yes, yes I will!” He hummed cheerfully to himself.
Robin soared high above in the air while the others played below. It would seem as though the small Fletchling was doing her own thing to the untrained eye. However, occasionally the fire loving red-headed bird would swoop at Nobara with his talons outstretched to snap around the Tangela’s long vines. Nobara would protest by throwing his vines up high in the air and swinging them around wildly, slamming them against the small robin in several places as he tried to get the bird to leave him alone. “Stop fighting me, you overgrown shrub!” Robin screeched at the top of his lungs. “You’re the perfect material for my nest! Hold still!”
Zaiden sat down and shook his head while his mind raced with different thoughts. Kamejima rested next to Zaiden as she stretched out on the dunes and laid across the ground. She would glance periodically from the other Pokemon on her makeshift team to Zaiden with wide, hopeful eyes. She was a deity reincarnated, after all. Why had he not worshipped her? As soon as the teenager’s warm brown hued eyes landed on the bright yellow duck, Zaiden would jump up and point in excitement. “PSYDUCK!” He prodded Kamejima, who rolled over and ignored the other Pokemon. Zaiden complained with a loud grunt and gently prodded Kamejima as he signaled for her to tackle the other Pokemon, though she shrugged and turned away. Zaiden’s face fell, however, when he watched the Psyduck turn away from him and stalk off towards Shinya.
Conflicted, he knew that he did not want to tangle with the wild bug type trainer again. Their last altercation still left a bad taste in his mouth, that he really didn’t want to add more flavor on top. He’s not a good trainer, Psyduck! Zaiden thought in exasperation, crossing his arms over his chest. I mean…I may not be the best trainer…but I can’t be as bad as THAT dude…right?! When Zaiden glanced down at the small black sea cucumber with its large pink spikes hopping in his direction, he tilted he head in confusion. Although Kamejima would finally roll onto her feet and run at the other Pokemon to tackle it, she focused on the sea cucumber and not the duck that seemed to want to abandon Zaiden altogether.
OOC: Kamejima uses Tackle on Pyukumuku. Venom and I have agreed via cbox to switch encounters. Please allow Venom to have a chance at catching Pyukumuku. Also will be sending out Kamejima and throwing a Net Ball at Psyduck instead, if Shinya throws a Net Ball as Pyukumuku.

Much like Zaiden, Shinya was finding it rather difficult to shake the other trainer from his thoughts, continuing to scowl as he tried his very best to do so. Shinya was visibly calmer than he was after Zaiden captured the wild Wimpod, but his whole encounter with the other trainer left him with a very unpleasant taste in his mouth. Both trainers had that much in common at least. "Tch. Damn wuss. Why didn't he just go down with the ship?" The Bug type trainer thought to himself, wondering how someone so timid could've escaped the fate that befell the S.S. Zulu. Of course, going by what happened during their encounter, Shinya figured that Zaiden's Pokemon probably did most of the work on that one. However, neither Zaiden, nor even Shinya himself, really knew the whole story. Before he could even crawl, Shinya was found and raised by Team Skull. So, he never really had a positive role model around to teach him the difference between right and wrong, or even how to behave like a decent human being. In fact, every time Shinya did something "bad", Team Skull praised him for it, which ended up sending Shinya the message that it was good to cause trouble and give other people a hard time. Additionally, it was unlikely that Shinya would listen to reason if anyone tried to tell him differently. That is, unless they were the Team Skull that he had come to know and love as his family. In any case, Shinya and Joltik didn't manage to get very far away from Zaiden and his Pokemon when they were suddenly ambushed by another pair of wild Pokemon. As soon as he heard the sound of quacking, the Team Skull grunt turned to see a wild Psyduck waddling towards him as fast as its almost non-existent legs could carry it. While some trainers may have raised their guards and gotten ready for battle when this happened, Shinya just let out an exasperated sigh and slowly shook his head in disappointment. "Another waste of my time. Whatever. Joltik, get ready to level up." Shinya informed the Bug/Electric type on his shoulder, as he grabbed another Net Ball from his bag. "Jol. Jol. Joltik." Joltik wasn't really sure what her trainer was talking about, but she still nodded and did her best to prepare herself for whatever this "level up" was. But then, before Shinya threw his Net Ball at the Duck Pokemon, something else suddenly caught his eye. Looking a little further down the beach, passed the Psyduck, the Bug type trainer noticed that Zaiden and his Pokemon were in battle against a rather unusual Water type for the Johto region. "Jeez. First a Wimpod, and now a Pyukumuku? Is there an Ultra Wormhole to Alola around here somewhere or somethin'?" Shinya questioned out loud, thinking about the strange phenomenon that sometimes appeared in his homeland. And as he watched Zaiden and Kamejima battle the Sea Cucumber Pokemon, Shinya's annoyed facial expression slowly changed into a rather devious one, as a thought suddenly crossed his mind. "On second thought, a little payback might be kinda sweet. Change of plans, Joltik. We're goin' after the other one." Shinya told his Pokemon in a tone that matched his new facial expression, then ran straight towards Psyduck before Joltik could ask him what he meant. Then, at the very last second before Shinya and Psyduck crashed into each other, the Team Skull grunt jumped over the Duck Pokemon, landed several feet behind it, and kept on going, heading straight for Zaiden, Kamejima, and the Pyukumuku. "Yo, squishy chumps, and Turtwig! Think fast!" Almost immediately after yelling out those words, Shinya threw the Net Ball in his grip as hard as he could, hitting Pyukumuku right in the middle of the pink spikes on its back. The Sea Cucumber Pokemon was then sucked into the metal orb, while Shinya grinned triumphantly at his handy work. OOC: I know Zaiden's amulet is what called the Pyukumuku here, but Caramell 🍬 and I discussed it in the Cbox, and she said it was fine as long as Zaiden gets the Psyduck. Which is perfectly fine with me.

As both Zaiden and Shinya both made the decision to capture one of the Pokemon Pyukumuku and Psyduck had no idea that each trainer possessed such a powerful ball like a net ball. Psyduck was smart enough to know that despite it being higher leveled that it was the easier Pokemon to capture and it stayed on guard hoping to bat down any ball thrown towards it. As Zaiden's net ball sped towards it Psyduck fired a Water Pulse directly at the ball hoping to shatter it however the netting surrounding the ball absorbed the blow before smacking Psyduck in the head. As the duck Pokemon disappeared in a bright flash the net ball started to shake three times before a loud click signaled it's capture. Pyukumuku by now was scared out of it's wits as it was alone and knew Shinya was going to try and capture it next. It tried to hope around making it hard to get a good aim but as Shinya's net ball connected with the young Pokemon it also disappeared in a bright flash. Unlike Psyduck it put up more of a fight as it tried to roll around inside the ball trying to escape. With each and every shake Pyukumuku grew more desperate to break out but nothing it tried seemed to make a difference. As the net ball shook for a third time a loud click brought an end to the battle before either wild Pokemon could score a single damaging blow on either trainers Pokemon. Joltik gained 3 levels and is now level 4. She learned Electroweb. Kamejima gained 3 levels and is now level 8. She learns Leafage. Both Pyukumuku and Psyduck were captured.
