Name: August Lowe
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Trainer Type: Rich Boy
Hometown: Rustboro City
Appearance: With long blonde shoulder length hair, baby blue eyes, pale skin, and a taller than average height, August is considered by a lot of people to be attractive. He cares a lot about his appearance so he always makes sure that his hair is brushed and his face is clean shaven. He buys only name brand clothes and makes sure to keep up with the latest fashion trends so he doesn’t fall behind. His clothing makes it obvious that he has money. Because he cares more about appearances than practicality, his clothing choices aren’t always the most practical for what he is doing. For traveling and casual wear, August wears polo shirts, a blazer jacket, nice denim jeans, and casual dress shoes. For formal wear, he wears a suit and tie with nice dress shoes. He has an expensive analog watch he wears on his left wrist but it’s mostly just for show because he uses his phone to check the time. He has two piercings at the top of his left ear with ring earrings he got in college despite the fact that his parents consider them tacky. He wears sunglasses if it's very sunny out or sometimes if he just wants to look extra cool.
While August often walks around with a smile on his face, it’s not often real. He’s very good at acting in just the right way in order to manipulate people into doing what he wants. He doesn’t tell people what he’s really feeling very often.
Personality: The best way to describe August is arrogant and haughty. He’s full of himself and loves to be the center of attention. He’s used to getting his way, and doesn’t react well if he doesn’t get it. He’s used to coasting through life with his parents money and hardly has a work ethic. August mainly wants to just enjoy the good life without any of the bad. He plans to use this journey to sightsee, party, or other fun things before he has to settle down into adult life.
August is a bit of a cynic and believes people have predetermined fates. He sees his fate as joining and eventually taking over the business his parents run even though he doesn’t really want to. He’s slow to trust others. He assumes that most people want to use him so he often tries to use them first, making it so he has few friends. He’s fairly unempathetic to others and doesn’t usually consider how others feel. When faced with a problem that he can’t solve with money or get someone else to deal with, he will suddenly decide that he doesn’t want to do whatever it is anyway or run away. He is very good at ignoring his problems.
History: August’s grandfather started a very successful tech business as a young man in Rustboro City. He eventually passed down the company to his son, August’s father. August’s mother was a worker at the company which is how she met August’s father. They dated, got married, and eventually had August. He is their only child.
Growing up, August had everything he ever wanted, new toys, nice clothes, ect. However, his parents never had much time for him. Running a successful business was hard. They spent long days in the office and often came home with extra work. He went to an expensive private school growing up and so is a bit sheltered when it comes to how the world works.
August had known from a young age that he would one day inherit the business like his father had before him. However, August doesn’t want to work for the company but feels like he has no choice but to accept. After graduating high school, he went to a well known college for a business and computer science degree. He spent most of college messing around and partying and barely passed most of his classes. Getting his degrees has just made him more sure that he doesn’t want his parent’s company. Since he graduated, his parents expect him to join them at their job. August managed to convince them to postpone that by telling them he wants to go one a pokemon journey first. He chose to go to Jhoto to get away from it all but told his parents it was because he wanted to see more of the world. He’s too scared to disappoint his parents by telling them he doesn’t want to work in tech. He’s watched them do nothing but work for years and thinks that would be miserable but thinks that is part of having a normal job and there’s no way to avoid it.
Goals: Postpone having to work at his parents’ company.
Have as much fun as he can.
