Was Hunter serious? Did he really not know about Koffing's ability? These were Venom's thoughts as he eyed the cyclist with one eyebrow raised, taking a few seconds to process these thoughts. Once again, the Poison type trainer had chosen not to hold this against Hunter, knowing full well that not everyone had his vast knowledge of Pokemon, especially Poison type Pokemon. And just like before, he was more than willing to answer any and all questions that his opponent had on the subject. "No. Koffing is a pure Poison type Pokemon. I can assure you of that. What you experienced back then, and what you're seeing now, are Koffing's ability. Levitate. Other Pokemon such as Gastly, Bronzor, and Tynamo have it too. To put it simply, it makes Ground type moves completely ineffective against these Pokemon."
And while his trainer was giving the opposing trainer a lesson on his ability, Koffing was taking another hard hit from Marrow, and giving a hot one right back as well. But no matter how long his HP got, the Poison type Pokemon never once stopped smiling. In fact, he got even more happy as soon as Marrow's words reached his ears, quickly paying a compliment right back to his ground bound foe. "Well, thanks so much for saying so! You're really tough yourself! I was starting to think I'd never meet a Ground type that could give me such a hard time! I hope this battle will help you understand us Poison types some more! We're full of surprises! It's true!" Koffing floated right down to Marrow as he spoke, getting right in the Lonely Pokemon's face, and letting his enthusiasm get the better of him once again without realizing it.
Venom then listened to Hunter's response, and quickly replied with a smile and a nod of his own, chuckling a little at Hunter's last statement as well. "Yes, I've seen what you speak of. That's where I got the TM that contained Koffing's Thunderbolt attack. Not that it would be much help here, of course. And I've always found Hyper Beam to not be worth it anyway. True, it's a powerful move, but the recharge that comes with it leaves you wide open to an enemy's attack. Personally, I'd rather not take such a chance in battle." After that, the ninja turned his eyes back over to Koffing, seeing that despite his attitude, Koffing was starting to look rather worse for wear. Would he be able to withstand another of Marrow's Headbutt attacks before launching another Flamethrower?
After taking a full minute to think about it, Venom decided to once again place his faith in his Pokemon friend and go for broke. Worst case scenario, Marrow's next Headbutt knocked Koffing out cold, Venom used a Revive to patch him up, then he'd let either Croagunk or Salandit finish this battle up in Koffing's stead. They may not have had Koffing's Levitate ability, but they were at a higher level than Marrow. "Okay, Koffing! Hunter and Marrow are good, but we're better! And one more Flamethrower attack should prove it! So, hang in there, then show Marrow just how hot our fire burns one more time!" His enthusiasm once again raised by Koffing's own, Venom called out his next command, and Koffing carried it out as fast as he could. "Heck yeah! I'm all over it, master!" The Poison Gas Pokemon inhaled, then exhaled his strongest Fire type attack yet, fighting through all the pain he was in while doing so.

Cyclist Hunter smiled as Venominon explained Koffing’s Levitate ability. It sounded like quite the useful trait for a Pokemon to have and helped the cyclist better understand why Marrow had such a difficult time against these floating rocks. “I have to admit…” Hunter hummed, pressing one finger against his chin and tapping it lightly as he thought aloud. “…I guess it should be obvious. It’s not like Marrow or most other Pokemon. Koffing float above the ground, so the fact that their ability is known as levitate should have been as plain as the nose on my face. Huh?” He was a pretty jolly sport and could admit when he might have been more naive than he should have normally been. Still, Hunter didn’t work with many Poison Types very closely, so he barely knew what they were truly capable of on a normal day. “Marrow, we need to put our all in this last attack!” Hunter pulled his hand away from his face and clenched his fingers into a tight fist. He pumped them up into the air and shouted as loud as he could towards his small lizard-like Pokemon with its large skull that covered its face. “Put your all into one last Headbutt for me, ok?!” Marrow spun around and stared up at his trainer with large, adoring eyes. Even when he sometimes doubted himself, Marrow could always rely on Hunter being the rock that supported him through everything and helped him realize his own potential inside of himself. He knew that he had to do everything in his power to try to win, if not for himself than for Hunter’s sake. “You’re definitely full of surprises.” Marrow’s words were calm. He nodded his head as he smiled at Koffing. Even though they were opponents in this battle, Marrow considered Koffing to be more of an acquaintance than an enemy. The fight was more of a way for both of them to better understand each other, than a way to truly try and take either one down. Even if one of them had to win while the other lost, Marrow could respect Koffing for all the effort he put behind his attacks. “You’ve got your own natural defenses that protect you from my best attacks. Attacks that normally your typing would have been weakened by. That’s more than impressive.” Marrow nodded firmly. Marrow rushed forward once more and jumped up high to crash his skull against the bottom of Koffing’s body. Even as Koffing took a large chunk of damage and nearly rolled towards the edge of fainting, he fought back and managed to cling on to a bit of health inside of his core. Koffing would use that bit of health to summon all the flames he possibly could and burn his opponent with, which would burn the Cubone up with such intensity that the small Pokemon could come crashing to the ground, completely drained of his health. “Ah, Marrow my friend…return. You deserve a rest…” He recalled his Pokemon and walked over to Venominon, holding out a chunk of change that he would pass over to his opponent. “This is for defeating me. You’ve proven you’ve raised your Pokemon well. I hope we meet again some day… I can’t wait to see how much stronger you’ll be by then, huh?” And with that, Hunter would hop on his bike and peddle off into the distance. Venom and Koffing could feel it too. The bond forming between them and their opponents, as the battle raged on. It had been a long time since Venom felt this way, and it made him feel confident that he had found a good friend in Hunter. Despite the ninja's distaste for humans, Koga always did tell him that there were plenty of good humans in the world. Venom just had to look for them, and it seemed like his search was finally starting to pay off. Not only that, but the poisonous pair were given yet another reason to celebrate, as Marrow fainted after Koffing's most recent Flamethrower attack. Of course, Koffing was feeling more than a little drained after such a hard fought, back and forth battle. Not only did he best a Ground type, but Grimer and Skorupi also bested a Psychic type before him. And that's exactly what Venom liked to see from his team of beloved Poison type Pokemon.
"...I did it...I won...Team Toxic won." The Poison Gas Pokemon said in a daze, doing his best to stay airborne and keep on smiling. Fortunately for him, Venom was there to catch him, holding him in his arms and smiling right back at him. "Yeah, we did. You carried out your role perfectly, Koffing. I thank you, my friend. Now, have yourself a nice, long rest for the night." With that, the Poison type trainer called Koffing back to his Ultra Ball before putting it back into his bag for the night. Koffing's training was complete for the time being, but before calling it a night, both Grimer and Seviper needed a bit more training. But before heading off into the night to search for Team Toxic's next opponent, Venom faced Hunter, accepted the money from him, then offered him a bow of gratitude.
"You've raided your Pokemon quite well too, Hunter. I thank you for such an intense battle, and a few good learning experiences as well. Team Toxic is sure to grow even stronger from here, and yes. Hopefully we will meet again one day. I'd like to have another battle with you again when and if that time comes. And hopefully by then, you'll have a Poison type Pokemon of your own. Safe travels to you, my friend." Venom then raised his head, watched the cyclist ride off into the night, and hoped that his new friend would spread the word about what had transpired during their battle tonight to as many people as possible, before turning to face a different direction. Before calling it a night themselves, Venom, Grimer, and Seviper all had some more work to do, some more battles to fight, and hopefully, some more new things to learn. And so, Venom jumped back into the trees, searching through the darkness and shadows for their next foe or foes.
OOC: I'll pass on teaching Koffing Haze. Thanks though.

The heat wave that rolled across the surrounding landscape would permeate into the darkness of the night, causing the sun’s rays to feel as though they were still baking the earthen ground underfoot even as the moonlight sparkled in the starry night sky. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere for most, where wild creatures tossed about in their holes trying to slip into a decent night’s sleep through the icky heatwave that tore throughout the land. Loud neighing echoed into the dead of night, and eerie sound for such a time of night. The sounds of hooves pounding against the sandy grounds caused small pebbles on the ground to skip about in erratic patterns. Though they might have slept peacefully during the night on any other occasion, the wild herd galloped through the tall grass at the tops of their heels during this night. Some of the small fillies and colts chased after each other in play while towering adults watched them with small smiles. They were vigilant as they moved, with the leader setting the pace from one stretch of the open route to the next. Scouts would brey loudly in alarm at the slightest sign of danger, where sentries rushed off to test and chase them off one by one. Some other nightly trainers would run past Venom with singed bits of hair and small burns on their arms and legs from encounters with the wild herd. “Those wild mustangs are crazy!” One young gentleman with long dreads that stretched down to his knees stopped just underneath the tree that held Venominon above his head. Though he didn’t know he wasn’t alone, the traveler would glance over his shoulders with widened eyes, then buck as he rushed towards the safety of the city ahead. The wild Ponyta would come braying at the top of its lungs, crashing into the rough bark of the tree that held Venom as it slammed its head against the trunk. It jumped back, shaking its head from the impact and prepared to blast the tree with a powerful ball of embers as it snorted angrily. A Wild Ponyta Appeared! Level 17 20. What will Venom do? As the night went on, and Venom's encounter with the cyclist known as Hunter was behind him, he found himself wondering what other kinds of trainers and Pokemon he'd meet during his time in and around the big city. However, both these thoughts, as well as his jumping from tree to tree, came to a screeching halt when the ninja noticed the rather sudden rise in heat. Landing safely on another tree branch, with the view of an open field of tall grass before him, Venom remarked on this turn of events. "How odd. Although, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. With so much trash in this city, I imagine heat waves such as this are quite common around here. When will the human race learn?" Venom said to himself with an exasperated sigh, figuring that, given the time of day, this was no mere act of Arceus. Although, he'd prefer that it had been. Thankfully, despite the possible damage to the environment in and around Goldenrod City, Venom was very pleased to hear what he immediately recognized as the sounds of a herd of wild Ponyta galloping through the tall grass fields. Even at such a late hour, the heat wave clearly stirred these Fire types into a frenzy, as the flames on their bodies shinned almost as brilliantly as the city lights themselves. The Poison type trainer couldn't help but chuckle when he witnessed a group of trainers attempting to capture these Fire Horse Pokemon, but were quickly forced to retreat, covered from head to toe in burn marks. "As I asked, when will they learn?" Venom asked a rhetorical question to himself, fully aware that the sudden heat wave, natural or not, had granted a power boost to all Fire type Pokemon and moves in the area. And from the looks of it, it also increased their level of aggression as well. High above the ground, Venom would normally have been safe from sharing the same fate as those other trainers himself, but then he noticed one of those trainers running towards the tree he was in. Not long after that, the ninja also noticed one of the burning lights chasing after said trainer, and not sounding even the least bit happy. Even though the trainer managed to get away safely for the most part, Venom suddenly found himself pulled into the fiery frenzy against his will. As soon as the wild Ponyta struck the trunk of the tree he was in, Venom was forced to return to the ground, but was able to land safely, just a few yards away from the Ponyta that caused his descent. At first, the purple-haired trainer was fully prepared to leave before he ended up like those other trainers, but his eyes widened once he saw the Fire type about to set fire to the tree he was forced to jump out of. "Woah there! Let's not set fire to the forest! Granted, part of me would love to see this city burn to the ground, but lots of other wild Pokemon live around here too! So, let's just try to calm down!" Venom knew that if this Ponyta set fire to one tree, it would only be a matter of seconds before the rest of the forest caught on fire as well. So, he attempted to reason with the Fire Horse Pokemon, but it seemed as though the heat wave, as well as the failed capture attempt by the other trainers, had whipped this hooved Pokemon into more of a frenzy than the ninja first thought. And when it set its burning gaze and flames on Venom, he knew that running away would be pointless. Ponyta would likely catch even a ninja like him on foot, and he couldn't risk jumping into another tree, for fear of starting a forest fire. As such, this left Venom with only one course of action, as he quickly grabbed a Great Ball from his bag and tossed it out between Ponyta and himself. "I'm sorry about this, Ponyta, but I can't let you keep rampaging like this! Help me out, Seviper!" The red, white, and blue orb burst open, and Venom's namesake emerged from the light that followed, eyeing her next opponent. "Ah, now it's a Ponyta. They've always been a bit full of themselves, but it seems this heat has pushed them right over the edge." Seviper commented, having dealt with wild Ponyta many times in the past, but did feel rather comfortable in the increased heat herself. Still, both she and Venom remained focused on the matter at hand, even if said heat wave did put them at a disadvantage. "Let's try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum, Seviper! Use Sludge Wave!" Ready to dose Ponyta's flames, Seviper gathered as much toxic sludge as she could, then sent it all right at the wild Fire type. "Get soaked, you four-legged night light!"OOC: As always, I appreciate the thread updates, Caramell 🍬. But remember, Venom's Koffing is holding the Cleanse Tag. So, as much as I hate to put Seviper at an even bigger disadvantage, shouldn't this wild Ponyta be level 20?

While the Ponyta wouldn't normally talk to humans, their clan were familiar with some of the common human speeches, especially the ones describing them whenever a human or more would walk by. "Rampaging? We're just excited for summer!" The Ponyta neighed, and pranced around the field as it enjoyed the summer weather, especially after hiding and struggling to stay warm during the winter, and then the sad and cool spring. Other quinine neighed and cheered, after this brave Ponyta had spoken. It faced the human, and then later, its Pokemon. Sure, it wasn't a Rattata or a Squrtle or a Zigzagoon or a Pidgey, but it was a Seviper! Once in a while, the clan would come across a Seviper, but the fire types usually dash away when the Seviper showed any sign of danger, so this was a chance to actually battle one. If any Ponyta fought one, it probably strayed from its pack too far. "Shush, you sounds prideful too!" It turned toward the trainer's Seviper. Then, it turned its head and neighed again to address the audience in the back. "Hey, this one doesn't stutter!" Instead of a crowd of mockery though, the Ponyta clan was rather nice. A couple of them seemed to hollered "Wow.", "Nice!", and one particular in the background neighed "That's a new one!" excitedly. When the Seviper was gathering toxin internally though, the fire type stomped on the ground and hummed. "Not so fast, snake jerky!" It galloped forward with a speed of light, and then spewed more Embers in the poison type's way. The Seviper nearly choke or spit out his pre-made venom, but thankfully maneuvered himself successfully. Then, before the Ponyta could dashed away, he spit out a sludge wave that touched the hooves. Thankfully, the fire type's speed stomped on the ground as the acid quickly splattered away from its furs and onto the ground. "Nice try, but are you okay?" The horse huffed. Venom had to admit, the wild Ponyta's explanation did make sense. Ponyta weren't normally a violent species of Pokemon, no matter how hot it was outside. "I see. In that case, I do apologize for spoiling your fun, but I'm afraid you'll need to tone down your excitement at least a little. I'm sure you're all very careful with your flames, but we can't have any of your burning down the forest around here by accident." Venom was perfectly calm and composed as he attempted to reason with the Fire Horse Pokemon, hoping that the others would also listen to reason as well. However, Seviper wasn't so easily sold on all of this at first, keeping her snake eyes narrowed at the wild Ponyta. Although, she had to admit, this particular herd of Ponyta seemed to be a rather kind and respectful lot, based on what she heard from them. After shrugging off the Fire type's attack and returning fire herself, Seviper finally addressed her opponent, deciding to let the "snake jerky" comment slide. "Sure enough, that hurts. This sudden rise in temperature has also caused the power of your flames to rise. Unfortunately for you, I'm not as easy to win over as my master can be. That being said, I can see that you're quite formidable. With or without the weather working in your favor. I suppose you've earned at least some of my respect, but that doesn't change the fact that once a battle has begun, it must be finished. So, let us now continue. And may the best Pokemon win." The Fang Snake Pokemon stuck out her tongue and hissed at Ponyta once she was done speaking, seeing that even though Ponyta wasn't inflicted with poison status, the wild Pokemon had still taken some big damage from her Sludge Wave. Having heard the conversation between Seviper and Ponyta loud and clear, Venom found himself smiling, very pleased to see two completely different species that lived in the same area getting along so well. Even though Seviper didn't technically live on route 34 anymore. "That was very moving, Seviper. As always, it's a privilege to see two different Pokemon interacting with each other in such a positive and respectful way. Now, as you said, let's continue this battle. Use Sludge Wave again!" For once, it was the trainer following the Pokemon's lead, not that it made much of a difference to this serpentine duo. Getting a smile of her own, Seviper once again built up a large amount of toxic sludge in her mouth and all around her body, before sending it all at Ponyta just as she had done in the previous round. "I do hope you'll still be able to walk after this one, Ponyta! I'd hate to cut your fun filled evening with your friends short!"OOC: I appreciate the reply, Tiki, but Venom's Seviper is a female.

The wild horses glanced at each other and neighed in hushed murmurs from one another. The hot sun that baked them during the day left warm nights which stirred them even long after the sun disappeared out of the open skies above. They enjoyed the heat, which caused the flames of their manes and long tails to intensify. Why couldn’t they just gallop openly and freely however they’d like? “Humans do much worse damage than we do.” The lead horse neighed loudly in response to Venom and bucked up onto its hind legs to add emphasis. “Why not control the behaviors of your own kind first?” It challenged with what it assumed to be a fair question. Seviper slinked across the ground and created a large wave of toxic sludge that slipped underneath the ground. Long blades of green grass would brown and wither away where the sludge touched it. Ponyta zipped on the top of its heels around the worst of the sludge at first, creating artificial copies of itself as it raised its speed with a burst of agility throughout its hooves. “Respect? Niicee! You’ve got my respect too!” It winked, and leaped up high into the air as it jumped over a large log. Seviper’s sludge slammed against the wild stallion, knocking the horse down with one powerful blast and sending the rest to scatter. The combatant paused and stared knowingly at Venominon and Seviper before choosing to flee with its comrades. What they said sunk in, combined with the pain it felt from Seviper’s attacks and the withered grasses that created an almost dying ground-scape around them. “Perhaps…you’re both right. This is not a suitable place for us to roam. My herd and I will run off somewhere where the ground flows free of trees and other things that might start an unwanted wildfire. There, I hope, we’ll be welcomed to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. Take care, strange human who cares and snake jerky whose actually really strong!” Ponyta commented, sticking its tongue out playfully, and rushed far off into the distance. All Venom could do was let out a single sigh and nod his head in full agreement with the words that the wild Ponyta said to him. This was especially true after finally arriving in Goldenrod City and seeing the overall state of the biggest city in all of Johto. Frankly, it left the ninja with more than just a bad taste in his mouth. "Trust me, Ponyta, you and I are on the exact same page. If only it were that easy to control my own kind. Be grateful that you don't know the full extent of what I mean." As a Pokemon that mostly lived in open fields, this Ponyta had probably never seen the damage that humans can really cause up close, and Venom truly hoped that that day would never come. Not just for Ponyta, but for all of Pokemon kind.
Meanwhile, Seviper was busy wrapping up what was left of his battle, as the Fire Horse Pokemon became drenched in the Fang Snake Pokemon's toxic sludge. Still, even in the face of so much pure toxin, Ponyta still hadn't become infected by it. For that, the Fire type received a bit more of Seviper's respect, as she too was at least a little flattered to receive some respect herself. "Hmph. Flattery will only get you so far, Ponyta. But I must admit, that was a good battle. Even I wasn't completely certain of my victory this time. The strength of your flames, as well as your speed, are both quite impressive, I must say." Seviper praised her opponent on what was probably the most entertaining battle of her entire life so far, giving the pure Fire type a smile as well.
Still, neither Venom nor Seviper enjoyed seeing the damage that Seviper's Sludge Wave had done to the landscape around them, causing Seviper to lose her smile the moment she looked down at the ground all around her. Thankfully, it was all for nothing, as Ponyta and her entire herd seemed to get the message that the venomous duo was trying to convey to them. And so, Venom and Seviper listened to what their opponent had to say, then quickly regained their smiles, even though the Fire type addressed them by such ridiculous names. "You have my thanks, Ponyta. And if I may be so bold, please spread the word of your encounter with us to as many Pokemon as you can during your travels. I wish you and your herd the best of luck in finding a new and better place to call home."
The ninja and his serpent both bowed in respect to the Fire Horse Pokemon, then raised their heads just in time to see them run off into the distance. Fortunately for them, even though it was the middle of the night, their flames were burning brighter than ever in the increased heat, which Venom and Seviper knew would come in handy for lighting their way to a new landscape. "Well, that was a new one. Even for me. And now, master, would you mind terribly if I chose to remain outside my Great Ball for the time being? I'm rather enjoying this warm night air." Seviper questioned her trainer in a relaxed tone of voice, slithering back over to his side as she did.
In response to this request, Venom turned to face Seviper, smiling and nodding at her as he gave her a response. "Certainly, Seviper. If that's what you want. Let's keep moving though. I'd like to get two, maybe three more battles in before we call it a night." With that, Venom headed back towards the tall grass fields, searching for any other trainers or wild Pokemon who chose to brave the flames of the wild Ponyta herd and remain close by. "Sounds lovely. I wouldn't mind gaining a little more experience myself." Seviper was quick to follow Venom's lead, having a strong urge to do some more battling after the heated match she had with Ponyta just a few short moments ago.
OOC: Here's 600 more words for Venom's Cubone egg. And I'll pass on having Seviper learn Poison Fang. Thanks.

The night carried on as the pale moon shined in the dark skies. Barely a breeze would stir the wild grasses that stretched up to one’s knees along the open route. While many trainers ventured into the nearby city and packed it inside of the nearby hotels that decorated the roadways heading in and out of Goldenrod, some crawled through the tall grasses in search of its hidden nocturnal mysteries. Some chased after large rats who would whip around and snap at their ankles angrily with their long buckteeth, initiating battles with competent trainers and scaring off the would-be weaklings just as easily. A small boy was laying in the grass in a halfway fetal position. His legs were curled towards his chest with his hands twisted in odd directions with one reaching behind him as another reached out in front. The eyelids would twitch occasionally and furrow as though he were having a terrible thought etch its way across his mind in his sleep. Why the small child was sleeping in the grass might have been a mystery in and of itself. Though, the Poke Ball clinging between his hands (broken) was probably enough of a hint alone. Beside him, a young Ivysaur snored while rolling around in its sleep. “No…nnnn! Please Ughhhhh!” The boy mumbled under his breath as he tossed and turned, flailing his arms through the grass and gasping loudly in anguish. “We didn’t meeaann ittt! Koff…Augh Koff…I thought you were good! Why do you say you want my blood?!” Then the boy would scream loudly as a large yellow tapir hidden underneath a small oak tree waved its hands in the boy and its Pokemon’s directions and snickered. It looked like it was feasting on the air itself as they slept, and was obviously quite fat and happy off the dreams it consumed in the current moment. A Wild Drowzee is eating dreams! Level 20. With the moon shinning brilliantly above their heads, and various other activities going on all around them, Venom and Seviper continued on their trek through the tall grass, searching for anyone or anything that looked like it might give them another good battle. Naturally, since Seviper had spent her entire life in this area, everything they heard and saw was quite familiar to her. So familiar in fact that she merely scoffed and rolled her eyes before she and her trainer moved on. Venom didn't seem all that interested in the events taking place around them himself, deciding to pose a question to his Fang Snake Pokemon to try and liven things up. Even if only a little bit. "So, I take it this is all pretty standard around here, Seviper?"
"Indeed. Humans come from that big city all the time, but the wild Pokemon around here have all grown wise to anything and everything they can do by this point. Honestly, the most exciting day of my life was probably the day I met you, master. Either that, or the day I had an unfortunate run in with a Zangoose." Seviper explained to the ninja, before narrowing her eyes and hissing in anger, still remembering that encounter very clearly. Given his vast knowledge of Poison type Pokemon, Venom was more than aware of the rivalry between Seviper and Zangoose. Nobody really knew how it all began, but for whatever reason, these two very different species of Pokemon just didn't get along and tried with every fiber of their being to destroy the other whenever they even saw each other.
Venom had loads to say about this particular topic, but before he got the chance, he and Seviper stumbled upon the slumbering trainer and his Seed Pokemon. Both Poison trainer and Pokemon were puzzled by this right away, but not because of the situation itself. "My, my. Isn't this human a bit young to be out so late?" Seviper questioned in a completely relaxed tone of voice, not even a little concerned about the young trainer's wellbeing or even a little confused as to why he was sleeping out in the middle of the tall grass field to begin with. And Venom wasn't much better, showing little to no concern on his face, even though he heard the other trainer's sleep talking loud and clear. Still, since his Pokemon was Ivysaur, a Poison type, Venom decided it best to put a stop to the thing that was causing this.
"I suppose we should do something. We can't just leave a fellow Poison type like that. So, there must be a wild Drowzee hiding somewhere close by. Let's find it and deal with it, Seviper." Venom commented in a knowing tone, recognizing Drowzee's handy work right away, as he and Seviper proceeded to search for the Hypnosis Pokemon. Luckily for the sleeping trainer and his Ivysaur, it didn't take the venomous duo very long to locate the source of their suffering. Once that was done, Seviper got herself ready for another battle, but Venom stopped her, grabbing another Great Ball from his bag. "Sorry, Seviper, but would you mind if Grimer took care of this one instead?" The purple-haired trainer asked his Pokemon, knowing that Grimer could take care of this wild Drowzee just as easily as she took care of the last one they encountered earlier that same evening.
"Please be my guest. Personally, I'd rather wait for more of a challenge to appear anyway." Seviper answered Venom in a reasonable tone, waving her tail in front of her face at the same time. With that, Venom smiled, nodding, and threw Grimer's Great Ball towards the wild Psychic type. "Sorry, Drowzee, but mealtime is over! Go get 'em, Grimer!" The Alolan Sludge Pokemon appeared from the red, white, and blue orb, facing what she already recognized as her foe immediately. "Another Drowzee? Great! I'll win this time for sure! But watching it devour all those dreams is kinda making me hungry again." Grimer smiled and drooled a little at the sight before her, even though she and the rest of Team Toxic just had dinner not too long ago. "In that case, go chow down, Grimer! Use Poison Fang, then follow it up with Bite!" Needing no further invitation, Grimer carried out her trainer's commands, making her way over to the rotund Psychic type, ready to stink her teeth right into its squishy flesh.

It was a very special drowzee, especially if it was the one inducing the bad dreams on the child, as from what was known in the pokedex drowzee's didn't like to eat the bad dreams. It was claimed that they tasted "sour" and that they could even get sick of too many. Of course, the pokedex might be wrong, or perhaps this drowzee was just the exception that proves the rule and it had eaten so many bad dreams by now that it actually liked it. No matter the reason the kid and his ivysaur really needed some help, if nothing else so because he clearly was a fellow poison type lover and there were too few of those in the world already. The drowzee in question was hiding quite well and hadn't Venom been a ninja he probably wouldn't have noticed it, but the psychich type also did a grave error when it realized it had been noticed. The kid and his pokemon instantly relaxed and seemed to sleep more peacefully, instead Venom and Seviper began to feel drowsy and it was very hard to fight even though they knew were it came from. How it would have ended was hard to say but with Grimer sneaking around and up on the psychic type, it never managed to put them fully to sleep. Grimer lunged at the drowzee and bit down with her two stubs of teeth, taking the drowzee by surprise, the poison didn't take any effect though and the drowzee retaliated by.. released a cloud of poisonous gas.. Grimer surely just enjoyed that. Drowzee looked disgusted at the grimer and gave her an plain ol headbutt which usually was strong but not at all affective against a slimy and not so solid body as Grimer's. Drowzee mostly just managed to bury its face in the slime, somehow avoid the poison once again. Grimer bit down with an old simple bite and it couldn't have been more effective. The drowzee screamed, starling the kid and his ivysaur awake and then the psychic pokemon ran off, disappearing into the night. The kid looked around uneasy and rubbed his eyes, "what.. what happened?" He asked and slowly looked up at the dark clad male towering above him. Due to his nightmares and the fear which had gripped him, he looked scared up at the unknown man. "Who.. who are you?" He managed to squeak out, while his ivysaur trotted over and nudged him affectionately, before sending Venom a look warning him of doing anything funny to its trainer. Grimer grows +2 levels to [Lv 25]! (0/1951) She also gains +1 Happiness! (+3) (ooc: words added to egg)

If it weren't for the fact that Ivysaur was a Poison type Pokemon, Venom and Seviper may very well have just left the younger trainer laying on the ground, at the mercy of the wild Drowzee. Fortunately for the slumbering trainer and Pokemon, it didn't come to that. Tracking down wild Pokemon proved to be a very simple task for a highly trained ninja, and though Drowzee was a Psychic type, one of the Poison type's natural enemies, Team Toxic had contingencies in place to deal with them as well. However, even with Venom's high level of stealth, it seemed this wild Drowzee proved to be more skilled with its psychic powers than the last one was. The Hypnosis Pokemon quickly turned those psychic powers on the ninja and his serpent, while Grimer took advantage of this distraction to get herself into position. And unfortunately for Drowzee, Venom and Seviper weren't about to give up their own dreams so easily.
As soon as they start to feel themselves drifting off into dreamland, Venom immediately withdrew a single shuriken from his pocket and stabbed the back of his own left hand with it. At the same time, Seviper moved her tail around to her mouth, then sunk her huge fangs into the flesh of her tail. Both trainer and Pokemon winced at the pain that followed, but that pain proved to be more than enough to help them fight back against Drowzee's spell and keep them awake. "Rgh...Nice try, but it's gonna take a lot more than that to put Team Toxic down." Venom proudly declared, keeping his snake eyes narrowed on the wild Psychic type, like a predator about to strike. However, the strike came not from Venom, but from the Poison/Dark type, which appeared from the darkness and finished off Drowzee with relative ease, forcing the Hypnosis Pokemon to beat a hasty retreat back into the safety of the forest.
With another battle over and done with, Grimer smiled happily, having gained another victory and more power. "Yeah, you'd better run! Come back anytime though! I'll be glad to beat you again and again!" The Sludge Pokemon yelled at the Drowzee as it ran off, but then lost her smile as soon as she turned around and saw the current state of her trainer and fellow Poison type, quickly moving over to them with great concern on her face and in her voice. "AH! Oh my Arceus! Are you two okay?! Please tell me you're okay!" Before responding, Venom grabbed some medicine and bandages from his bag, rubbing some on both his wound and Seviper's, then bandaging them both up. "I appreciate your concern, but we'll be fine, Grimer. I've been hurt worse, and I'm pretty sure Seviper has too." Venom informed Grimer, giving her the best smile and tone of reassurance, he could muster at that moment.
"Indeed. Compared to some of my encounters with Zangoose, this is nothing more than a little scratch. No cause for concern, Grimer. But thank you, my friend." Seviper added, quickly regaining her composure while doing so. Grimer regained her smile after that, very relieved to see that her dear friends were alright. But before she could say or do anything more, the venomous trio all turned their heads once they heard what sounded like the other trainer and his Ivysaur awakening from their slumber. Deciding to make sure that they were okay, Venom, Seviper, and Grimer approached the other Poison type trainer and his Seed Pokemon, as Venom addressed his question. Their reactions to Venom and his Pokemon didn't surprise any of them at all, as Team Toxic expected at least some fear and unease following their recent ordeal.
"Woah there. Take it easy. You were both just attacked by a wild Drowzee. It used its Hypnosis on you and was devouring your dreams while you slept. We drove it off though, and I'm glad to see that you're both alright. My name's Venominon Ouroboros, but just Venom is fine." The ninja offered the other trainer and his Ivysaur a bow, before raising his head and gesturing to the two poisonous Pokemon at his side. "As you can see, I'm a proud Poison type trainer myself. These two are my friends, Seviper and Grimer." Following their trainer's example, Seviper and Grimer bowed to the two new faces before them as well, raising their own heads a few seconds later.
"Charmed. In the future, I would advise you two to be more careful. Or at least add a Skorupi, Alolan Grimer, or Gastly to your team." Seviper was the first to give an introduction, offering the other trainer and his Ivysaur some advice along with it. Grimer nodded in agreement with Seviper's advice, giving the male trainer and Ivysaur a friend smile as she spoke. "I don't know about Skorupi, but there's lots of Gastlys and other Grimers just like me in the Underground Tunnel in Goldenrod City. In any case, I'm just glad that neither of you were hurt. It'd be a shame to lose a fellow Poison type and a trainer that loves our kind like our master does." While this was going on, Venom kept his wits about it, knowing that another wild Pokemon could attack at any moment. Or the younger trainer before them could view them as enemies and decide to attack them instead. Either way, Venom was ready for it.
OOC: I appreciate the update, Tarlar, but you forgot to add the happiness to Venom's Grimer on his character page. It still says +2 when it should say +3 now. Additionally, here's 600 more words for Venom's Cubone egg. And I'd like Skorupi placed back in Venom's party, and Salandit placed in Venom's PC in Skorupi's place. Thank you kindly.

The once sleeping trainer rubbed his eyes and blinked as he tried to remember what was going on. He was once running through the grasses chasing after other Pokemon, hoping to get experience for his team. There were rumors that somewhere in the heart of Goldenrod there were Trubbish. Though the trainer had no luck finding them in Cherrygrove despite his best efforts, he was hoping to find them now. “A wild Drowzee…?” He questioned, not being able to recall being attacked by such a Pokemon. There was a flash of something yellow moving in the tall grasses just before he fell asleep though… “You know…I had the most horrible nightmare ever…” He grumbled underneath his breath. While Venom introduced them to his Pokemon, the trainer beamed up and pulled out another Poke Ball, releasing a large purple snake that would stand up as tall as she could and spread her hood wide with a proud grin. “Oh, they’re cool! See, I’ve always admired Poison Types my whole life growing up. That’s Ivy my Ivysaur, and this is Fangs my Arbok! Oh and I'm Chester. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting a true-blue Seviper before! She’s gorgeous! What do you use to keep her scales so shiny, if you don’t mind me asking? See Arbok’s scales?” He gestured towards the dull scales where some old shedded skin still clung in odd patches. “I’m at my wit’s end for her and I feel like such a terrible owner, ya know? I just want her to be in her best health…” He hummed sadly. Meanwhile, as the two Poison Types chatted on two older and wiser tapir nodded while swinging their noses and sniffing the air. They would flank the two Poison Type trainers from either side and slowly slip in close. The plains were alive with the sounds of hypnotic Pokemon trying to lure more children to sleep. They would press themselves close to the ground as they slipped up closer, and began to release hypnotic waves from their eyes, hoping to lure both trainers into a deep sleep. They were ravenous this time of night, and while they loved fun dreams the most, they desperately wanted to eat someone’s dreams. Even if it meant risking getting sick off bad dreams. When the other trainer noticed something moving in the grass, he reflexively jumped back as his Arbok jumped in front of him to spread her hood out and hiss at their enemies. "Watch out, we're being surrounded!" He warned Venom. Wild Drowzee have appeared! Levels 20. As Venom witnessed the other trainer's reaction to his Pokemon, and listened to what he had to say, he found himself unable to keep from smiling. In so many ways, Chester was like a younger version of Venom himself. He loved Poison type Pokemon with a burning passion, he took very good care of his Pokemon, and he even had the same two Pokemon that Venom began his journey with. Ivysaur and Arbok. It may have only been by sheer coincidence, but even the genders of Chester's Ivysaur and Arbok were the same as Venom's own Seed and Cobra Pokemon. Venom knew that there were other Poison type lovers like himself in the world, but this was his first-time meeting one outside of Fushcia City. And so, the ninja bowed once more, giving Fangs the same greeting, he gave Chester and Ivy just a few moments ago.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Fangs. I was beginning to have my doubts about finding another passionate Poison type trainer here in Johto. I can tell just by looking at them that you've raised your Pokemon with a lot of love and devotion, Chester." Venom offered the fellow Poison type trainer some praise, raising his head and smiling at him as he did. And although Seviper didn't care much for complements, she did still find herself smiling too, pleasantly surprised to be meeting another snake Pokemon. And such a strong one at that. "I'm afraid flattery will get you nowhere, darling. But I must say, it's quite lovely to meet you, Fangs. How lucky you are to have a trainer like my own, who truly acknowledges and appreciates you for who you are, and the potential you carry inside."
As the two trainers and their poisonous Pokemon exchanged pleasantries, Venom listened to Chester's question, noticing the rather shabby state of Fangs' scales, and was quick to pass on his knowledge of proper serpent cleanliness. "Please calm yourself, Chester. You're not a terrible trainer at all. If you were, you wouldn't even care about such things. In any case, I understand your dilemma. My father taught me everything I know about Poison type Pokemon, including how to properly care for them. He even let me practice on his Arbok. May I demonstrate?" The ninja asked for permission from both Chester and Fangs, reaching into his bag to retrieve a clean washcloth, a bottle of water, and a small metal pot.
Venom then poured the water into the pot, had Seviper use her Flamethrower to warm it up a bit, then dipped the washcloth into it before ringing it out. Then, once he had the permission he asked for, he approached Fangs, knelt down, and began to gently scrub her body with the damp cloth. "There. See what I'm doing? First, you'll need a clean, damp washcloth. Careful it's not dripping wet, and that the water is warm, but not hot. After that, you wanna gently scrub Fangs' scales against the grain. I know it may sound strange, but if you wanna clean out all the dirt out from under and between the scales, you have to scrub against the grain. Not too fast or hard though, or else you might accidentally damage or remove some of the scales. Just long, gently, slow strokes. And once you're done, just let Fangs dry herself off in the sun."
"And as for the loose shed skin, it's as simple as gently grabbing it and slowly sliding it off. Like turning a page in a book." Venom demonstrated all of this for Chester, but since there wasn't any sunlight at the moment, he improvised, using a second and dry washcloth to gently dry Fangs' scales off. As they watched him do this, Seviper and Grimer both smiled at their trainer, happy to see him sharing his knowledge with another person, and possibly even making some new friends in the process. Pretty soon, Venom finished cleaning every inch of Fangs' body, kind of getting carried away. Nevertheless, he dipped the two washcloths in the pot of warm water to clean them off, then rung them out, dumped the water onto the grass, put all of his supplies away, then turned to face Fangs yet again. "Finished. Feel better, Fangs?"
The purple-haired trainer asked the Cobra Pokemon in a polite tone of voice, then waited for a response. He was so engrossed in sharing his knowledge and grooming the other trainer's Pokemon that he didn't even notice their stalkers at first. But then, without even needing Chester's warning, Venom let out a small gasp, as his highly trained senses picked up on the hypnotic waves the second they reached him. Seviper recognized these waves too, turning, glaring, and hissing as she raised her guard. Although, as a Dark type, these waves had no effect on Grimer, so she didn't notice them at first, but she did grow rather frantic upon seeing the reactions of Venom and Seviper. "Huh?! What is it?! What's going on?! Who's attacking us now?!"
The ninja immediately raised his guard too, standing with his back to Chester, Fangs, and Ivy, and narrowing his eyes at the foe before him and his own Pokemon. "It seems these dream eaters haven't had enough just yet. Chester, I realize that this is short notice, but I would be honored if you and your poisonous Pokemon would fight by our side." With that, Seviper slithered forward to face the Drowzee on their side of the makeshift battlefield, feeling very confident to have another serpentine Pokemon watching her back. "As proud Poison type Pokemon, we mustn't ever back down against any foe. Especially not Steel, Ground, or Psychic types. If you're with me, Fangs, then let's show these foolish tricksters what snakes like us are truly capable of."
And just like that, the teams were set. A proud pair of poisonous serpents vs a duo of hungry dream eaters. The team of Drowzees may have held the advantage when it came to type, but just as they had done many times in the past, Team Toxic wasn't about to back down. In fact, moments like these were when they fought their hardest. "Let's show our new friends and foes alike the power of Team Toxic, Seviper! Use Dark Pulse!" Venom was the first to call out an order, giving Chester and his Pokemon another demonstration. That type advantage was meaningless if you knew how to overcome it. "Say no more, master! It would be my genuine pleasure! Have a taste of this, you thieving swine!" Gathering the power of pure darkness in her mouth, the Fang Snake Pokemon unleashed it all in one big burst, which headed straight for the wild Hypnosis Pokemon.
