Crow stepped out of the small adoption center as rough ground crunched beneath his heavy boots. Not wasting any more time, he walked towards the Town's exit. He had a Charmander clutched firmly under his arm, like it was a warm brick and a stolen pokeball thrown somewhere at the bottom of his backpack. The reptilian pokemon peered around with interest, with its tail swaying slowly from left to right, not having much of an outside experience. It kept attempting to chew through the fog covering the town. With his attention devoted to setting a map function onto the Rotom Phone that hovered in front of him, Crow paid little notice to whatever the pokemon was doing. - Trojan, show me the closest town with pokecenter. - he mumbled and observed how the map zooms in. - Cherrygrove, huh? Looks just like another dump. - he sneered, trying to remember the road leading to said Town. Leaving New Bark town, he passed by several young trainers, probably not too many days over their 10th birthdays, and saw more, further into the road, struggling to find any pokemon in the thickening mist. Crow couldn't help but feel horribly out of place - nobody recognised him, nobody feared him. All he had was a young Charmander that he had yet to shape into something useful. It was only his first days in the region and he already was tired of hiding. - So. - he put the small pokemon on the ground. It looked back at him, unsure. - From now on, you are Smolder. Got that? - he spoke sternly. Charmander just tilted its head to the side, confused. " Ugh, young pokemon, almost as awful as kids," he thought to himself. - I'll make you the strongest you can be. All you need to do is listen to me. No questions asked, no whining. Deal? - crossing arms on his chest, he awaited pokemon's answer. Smolder hesitated, but eventually nodded, letting his trainer know it understood. - Good. Let's see what am I working with. - Crow moved into the tall grass, searching for a wild punching bag for the Charmander. The open route rolled through tall grasses over gently rolling hills through tall trees. Massive live oaks towered over the land, darkening the grounds with their expansive shadows, and shedding old branches on the ground that crunched underfoot with ease. Strange calls sounded through the tall grasses with wild caws that echoed from the heavens above. They were blurs through the fog, like silhouettes of monstrous creatures that could only exist within the deep recesses of one’s mind. Purples blazed between bright green leaves, though their colors could have been largely missed from a distance. Something darted between the outstretched branches in the canopies above, then dived up high and disappeared as easily. While Crow searched, it seemed as though much of the route’s living creatures were working hard to give him a wide birth. A small guttural growl called through the massive trees and swelling bushes nearby. It was strange and sounded as though it were in great pain. Another sound followed shortly after. Quick chirps like that of sound birds in the midst of a heavy scuffle. As Crow journeyed further through the grass he would soon be greeted by the strangest sight ever. Where one might expect to be confronted by one Pokemon unable to escape in time or perhaps charging after a new and inexperienced trainer, several Pokemon spent their time scuffling amongst each other. A strange looking bear with large swirly eyes sat inside of a small hole carved out underneath a wide weeping willow whose heavy branches framed the area in a strange, yet beautiful manner. A dull brown feathered bird worked with three others of its kind as they pushed a boulder in front of the bear, while one bird kept pecking at the beast inside the hole whenever it tried to escape. “Help me! Please!” The Spinda called out to the trainer as Crow neared the area. “I was just minding my own business and these birds all ganged up to bully me!” It swore with wide pleading eyes (whether or not you could tell through the swirls was another matter entirely). The Pidgey all spun around and squawked as they flapped their wings quickly. Most flew away from the trainer, wary of what that would mean for them. Though one remained – the fiercest one that was busily pecking the bear in place until the small boulder could be placed properly to entrap it. The Spinda spun and punched wildly, wiggling the boulder bit by bit as Crow distracted the birds, and crawled out of the hole with great effort. “Don’t listen to that bear! It was trying to knock down our nests and meant to break all our eggs!” The bird huffed angrily. The Spinda stood up and brushed itself off while stumbling about on its legs in strange circular patterns. “That just isn’t so! Please help me and scare this bird off, will you?” The Spinda pleaded once more, hoping that its words would move Crow into action. The bird kicked up a whirlwind of sand in Spinda’s direction with a loud, angry huff. “Shut up with your lies! If you want to help us, then get rid of this bear!!” The Pidgey continued, turning on Crow with fluffed up feathers as though it were ready to duke it out to prove its point. “Who are you going to believe? You saw them try to entrap me, didn’t you?” The Spinda continued. A Wild Spinda OR Pidgey need your help! Level 3 [Spinda] & Level 4 [Pidgey]. Which will Crowley help out and who does he believe? Crow raised his eyebrows high and slightly slid his sunglasses down, just to make sure he saw things correctly upon stumbling on to the bizarre situation. He didn't even know how to react at first - the comedy of the moment would deserve a laughter, but the darn things have inadvertently involved him in their petty squabble. He'd sooner expect this sort of thing from coming from humans, but alas, he glanced at each pokemon as they shared their sides of the story. Smolder just observed, unsure how to proceed. Frankly, Crow couldn't care any less about who was guilty of what. His intention was to try out his new Charmander and so he'd do just that. The cowering Spinda looked pitiful all bunkered underneath the willow, but the tenacity and aggression of the Pidgey got him thinking... - Smolder, roast this Pidgey. - the man finally spoke, poiting to the small bird. The lizard pokemon looked at the bird, confused on what it was supposed to do. Crow sighed. Arceus help with patience. - Use Ember, would you? - only then, a little cogwheel inside Smolders head turned. He took a deep breath and spat a small fan of flames towards the little bird.

The wild bird hopped backwards on its sharp talons and flapped its wings dramatically at its side. How could this strange human just take the side of the wild bear. Spinda stuck its tongue out at the bird from underneath the tree and laughed as it shook its head, though as soon as it did so Pidgey kicked a twig from underneath its foot at the wild bear, knocking underneath Spinda’s feet and causing him to stumble. “You’re the one that was cruel to me! Obviously this caring and loving human can sense a baddie when he sees one!” Spinda cried. Pidgey puffed up. “You’re the baddie!” It retorted. Smolder wasted no time at all at launching his flaming ball at his opponent while Pidgey continued to squabble with its enemy. As soon as the flames hit Pidgey in the center of its chest, the bird screeched at the top of its lungs. The sound was loud enough to sound like it was literally scratching nails against your eardrums. It flopped onto the ground and tumbled through the wild grass and sand all around it to try and knock out the worst of the flames, then hopped back up onto its feet. Immediately, Pidgey took to the airways and circled overhead, soaring a bit closer each time it made a lap until it caught a good vantage point of Smolder. “If you want to help the enemy then so be it!” The wild bird cried defiantly. It would show this strange lizard just what it was capable of. Though the dense fog made it hard to concentrate and it wasn’t always sure which silhouette on the ground was the Charmander. When Smolder moved, though, Pidgey zeroed in on its target. With all of the strength and vigor that it had, the small bird would come crashing down to slam its head against Smolder’s side, causing the lizard to stumble a bit though he would manage perfectly fine through the worst of the attack. “I’ll take you out along with this bear!” Wild Encounter Weather: Foggy (-10% acc) [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Pidgey LV 4 HP 61% [11/18]

- Gah! - Crow covered his ears when the Pidgey screeched its little soul out. The sound was so loud he felt as if his eardrums have just blew up; the horrific shriek lingering still even after it was long done. Smolder mimicked his trainer's reaction, trying to reach... wherever his ears were with his short little arms and closing his eyes shut. "Since when does the bloody thing know Boomburst? Heck, that was awful..." Crow thought to himself, massaging his left ear. There was little time to ponder over whatever just happened, as Pidgey quickly collected itself and went in for an attack, though it was hard to tell what exactly it was doing, as fog was doing him very little favours.
- Smolder, prepare! - he commanded, looking at the tiny orange lizard... which couldn't hear a word, as it hadn't yet realised it was supposed to open its eyes and ears now. - What the... Smolder! - he was irritated by pokemon's lack of smarts and tried to do something to remedy it, but the bird attacked and struck Smolder on the side. With a low cry of surprise more than hurt, he only shifted slightly from where he was. - Heh... see that? You can't even put a dent on a baby Charmander. What hopes do you have of defeating the stupid Spinda if you're so weak? - Crow smirked. He reached back into the side pocket of his backpack. - Know what? I think that's an easy fix. You just have to join me. I can make you strong. - Crow produced a standard pokeball, tossing it up and catching it on his finger and causing it to spin in place. - Unless you prefer me doing it the hard way, in that case... Smolder, Ember again! - he pointed, to which Charmander nodded and spat another ball of flames towards Pidgey.

The Pidgey didn't speak human language, but it could feel the man said something hostile about it. The young bird wasn't going to back down so soon. It chirped, agitated. "This lizard... is different! Give me back that wobbly bear so I can knock it off balance and knock it out!" It thought after crying that, as the scaly lizard was a bit different to slam into than the soft furred Spinda that the Pidgey was familiar with. The fire type breathed embers toward the hopping bird, whose feathers were singed by the volley of flaming specks. It roared in protest that the Charmander was misguided. "How would you feel if someone was destroying your home, huh? And then you have to fend for your life. Isn't this ridiculous? Why would you side with the humans?" "I am just defending myself! Maybe some day you'll think about this and realize you made a mistake!" It huffed, and ran quickly toward Smolder to slam onto him. The Charmander could barely felt the hit though. - And that is why we can't have nice things. - Crow grumbled, annoyed that the screeching creature wouldn't immediately accept the generous offer and throw itself at the pokeball. The gull! Regardless, it seemed to get roughed up pretty well by Smolder, which could be just enough to get it to submit by force. - That's enough, Smolder. - he spoke as Charmander was preparing the flame in his mouth, ready to spit it. Shooting his trainer a look of disappointment, flaming pokemon quite literally swallowed the fireball. So Crow swung his right arm and tossed the pokeball at the bird. He stared at the ball, awaiting the click without too much emotion. - Now, don't you dare break that.

The Poke ball easily swallowed the lively bird up in one gulp and fell to the ground without much of a hassle. It rolled around in the grass, presumably as the small pigeon fought inside of its contraption to escape once more and attain its freedom. Three shakes from the small red-and-white ball would be all that the wild bird could manage. What followed shortly after was a lovely ding of success, announcing that Pidgey’s free days were long since over now. The Spinda immediately stood up and brushed itself off while clapping loudly in approval. “Thank you for your help, human! That’ll be all I request of your services today!”A small girl came racing through the undergrowth. She wore a large, frilly dress that was possibly a size too big for her but that she might one day ‘grow’ into. The small girl pulled on her long amber hair that fell down behind her back and across her shoulders in long bell-shaped spirals. “Mister, mister I’ve lost my bear and my bat!” Large tears streaked from the corner of her eyes as she searched around. As soon as her eyes landed on the strange looking Spinda, spinning in circles as it tried to walk away, the small child jumped up and down excitedly. “Dere you are Mr. Teddy! It tea time an’ you ran off! Shame on you, Mr. Teddy! Got’s Mrs. Gumdrops all worried sick ‘bout you!” The same big eyes that were once tear stained stared only in admiration at Crow. Surely this was the hero she’d read about in all of her fairy tales! Whenever there was a damsel in distress who needed help or saving, the hero would always show up! He didn’t need long winded explanations or prompting because in fairy tales, the hero always loved helping others out of the kindness of his own heart. “Mister, mister! T’anks for findin’ my bear! Can’s ya help me finds my bat? Oh please, oh pretty please, Mister?!” The girl ran over to him, grasping for Crow’s large adult hand with her frail childlike hands, and stared up at him with hope beaming in her eyes. *Possible Job Offer by small child!* Help Cindy find her lost bat in the heart of Route 29. PidgeyName: Breeze Gender: Female Level: 4 OT: Crow Moves: Tackle Ability: Keen Eye Nature/Personality: Rash Crow picked up the dirtied pokeball, smirking to himself. The little bird had the fire he's looking for in a pokemon, plus, he couldn't help but favour flying types above others. He turned to Spinda, which seemed to be thankful for the rescue. Little did it know, Crow was planning on defeating it just for training, however, before he managed to get a single command in, a little girl rushed in, yelling, catching her bear companion in her seemingly unescapable clutches.
When she begged him, staring at him with her admiring gaze. That was barely his first battle on Johto soil and already he had made a fan... too bad it was just a little, meaningless girl. Playing the "hero" could be draining, but he had little to his name at the moment...
- I haven't seen a single bat here. - Crow said casually, looking around the area and trees. The fog must have subsided during the ordeal with the Pidgey, so he could at least glance upwards and see slightly further than perhaps few meters. - But, hey! I specialize in tracking in finding pokemon, lucky you! - young man rubbed his hands with glee. - Provided you or your parents can pay. - he added after a short pause.

The young girl stared up at her would-be hero and blinked slowly as she listened to him. She prided herself on being a respectable young child who was seen more than she was heard when adults were speaking. So when Crow informed her that he hadn’t seen any bats when she was sure that her bat was lost in the forest around them, Cindy placed her hands firmly over her lips to keep herself from arguing. Though, when he informed her that he was an excellent tracker, she jumped up and clapped her hands excitedly. “Oh yay! Thank you, thank you!” The promise of compensation was more of a foreign concept, though, to one so young. “I don’t have much…but I’m sure momma or poppa could find something worthwhile to give you as thanks!” She smiled innocently. Her loud and boisterous cries disturbed some thing inside of the trees above her head. A wild Pokemon swooped down on top of the young girl and pecked at her skull. Cindy jumped backwards, flailing her wings wildly in every single direction, and tried to shoo her oppressor away to the best of her ability. A twisted root caused her to trip and fall in the grass, getting her dress and arms dirty and bruised. “Owww, oww, owww! Hey, that hurt! Why are you so angry birdie?!” Cindy screamed, kicking and flailing her arms and legs about wildly, which only seemed to make the matter worse. “You disrupt my sleep! I take care of you humans! For good!” The pink winged bird chirped. As soon as its widened, wild eyes spotted Crow it immediately turned its attention on the taller – and obviously more threatening – human. “Teach your offspring not to disturb Pokemon! Or you no have them no more!” It screamed at the trainer and immediately swooped after Crow. It was so tired of all these humans trampling through its forested home like they owned the place. What's worse is that with each season, it would watch its young ones learn to fly only bbe be caught by one of these stupid trainer! Not this time! Not ever again! If he didn’t react fast enough and send someone out to battle, he risked having the wild Spearow peck and claw at his arms and fast in its anger…. Shiny? m_EAWI7D1-42 A Wild Spearow is attacking! Crow was satisfied with her answer. Seems like her parents will be able to compensate all the trouble he was going to go through. He could use some money... or berries... or items... heck, a juicy TM could be nice... He was just about ready to go looking, when a sudden shadow swooped and attacked the little girl. The Spearow was agitated. It pecked at the defenceless kid mercilessly, as if she insulted its entire family line all the way to several generations before it. Then, he locked eyes with it, whilst it screamed. It reminded him of the one pokemon he lost... He quickly shook his head, coming back to earth from flashback-land. Crow knew when a pokemon was about to attack a human. He's seen this hateful gaze so many times and, just as many times, he broke them. Every single one of them. This wouldn't be any different. His hand was tightly grasping the pokeball of the pokemon he had just caught and he threw it at the exact moment Spearow came flying towards him. The Pidgey he had just captured was suddenly released, crashing into the side of the other pokemon. - Break its wings, Pidgey! - he barked out the command, carefully watching Spearow's next move.

Spearow’s angry eyes burned with a furious passion. One that simple words and promises wouldn’t be able to extinguish. The wild pink-winged avian only wanted revenge for all the times it watched it children get swallowed up by those blasted red-and-white contraptions that humans carried around with them. When Crow procured one of those very balls in front of Spearow, releasing a familiar looking dull brown bird, it would send Spearow into quite the frenzy. It swooped after Crow only to be met by the very bird he called forth from her ball. Breeze slammed into Spearow’s body, knocking the wind out of its lungs. Both birds landed in a tangled heap on the ground. They tussled, rolling about through the tall wheat grasses where wings beat upon feathered bodies in a flurry of browns and pinks. Little Cindy’s eyes watched curiously from behind the safety of Crow’s back. She gently mumbled ‘break its wings?’ softly to herself, trying to determine if good guys in all her hero books really thought so coldly and cruelly. Sure, they did! Right? If the bad guy – which was the Spearow in this case – started it? Maybe Gligarman would whilst tackling on of the criminals down to the ground to apprehend them? Spearow managed to pull away from Pidgey though one of its wings was a sight for soar eyes. It stretched out oddly on the ground and barely lifted when Spearow tried its best to raise it so that the wild bird could soar back into the air once more. Enraged, it jumped on top of Breeze and pecked at her soft scalp mercilessly. “Why you help these humans?!” Spearow demanded to know from the other bird. It had seen its share of Pidgey, and it had seen its share of humans beating up on them without a care in the world. “They don’t care about you! You should attack them, not fellow bird Pokemon!” Spearow huffed in annoyance. Wild Encounter Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Spearow LV 5 HP 80% [16/20]

Crow smirked, seeing Spearow's sorry state. It wasn't that long before he fought the defiant Pidgey and now it was at his command, a breakwing for its fellow avian. He was pleased with the feeling of dominion he had over a pokemon he had defeated. The little brown bird screeched, trying to throw the enemy off of it, flying slightly up and rolling back, grabbing onto the Spearow with its talons and slamming it to the ground in a clumsy looking suplex-type manoeuvre. " What choice do I have?! I was just defending my nest, when this human took the side of a stupid Spinda, that disturbed my kin and I!" Pidgey screamed, hovering little above Spearow. " Stand down, so I won't have to hurt you any further!" In the meantime, Crow was growing impatient, seeing as the two birds were communicating instead of fighting. - What are you doing? Break the other wing! I don't have a whole day! - he growled. Pidgey gave Spearow a pitying look. It didn't want to do this, but she also didn't want Smolder to spit fire at it again, which was silently just watching the two fight. Come to think of it, he's never actually said anything. "I have to do this! I tell you, just give up!" Pidgey chirped one last time, before it dived talons first at Spearow.

The pink winged Pokemon grumbled underneath its breath while trying its best to flap both wings and raise itself back up into the air. Each time it tried; the broken wing would prove to be a detriment to its plans. It would come crashing back down – bouncing off the rocks and small boulders that littered the ground or getting a beak full of sand and dirt in its mouth. “Why don’t you fight against the human?! You have choices if you didn’t let yourself believe you’re this weakling who can’t do anything!” Spearow tried to encourage its avian friend. Cindy blinked as she watched the two birds struggling in the dirt. “Is this right?” She asked, perplexed. Then, as if she needed reassurance, Cindy stared up at Crow with wide brown eyes that hoped her hero could explain it to her. “Why are you breaking Spearow’s wings? Is it because it attacked us? Is this what a hero does?” She asked, pressing her hands together and staring pleadingly up towards Crow’s face hoping to make eye contact as though that should make Crow keep his honesty as straightforward as possible with her. Spearow huffed and shook its head firmly. “I WILL NEVER GIVE UP TO SUCH A WEAKLING!” The wild bird screamed at the top of its lungs as its opponent. As Pidgey came crashing down from the air after Spearow, the wild bird shielded its remaining good wing by spinning around so that Pidgey could only crash into its chest. They tumbled about, with Spearow pounding its broken wing awkwardly after Pidgey with its good wing to try and fend the other bird off its body. “You’ll always be someone’s lackey if you don’t fight for yourself!” Spearow growled loudly. Pidgey's fighting spirit was slowly fading away in the face of Spearow's powerful screeching. It had been in the exact same spot as Spearow a few minutes before, but that lizard... Spearow had no idea how strong he was and how much pain his flames cause. " You don't understand! That Charmander..." Pidgey rotated its head for have its beak point at the young pokemon " he fights for the human unconditionally. Listens to all the commands. He's much stronger than me or you!" it screeched. It just wanted to stop this battle - a broken wing is not something that can heal on its own. Two broken wings? Essentially a death sentence. Crow just fixed his sunglasses and crossed his arms. He was tired of Pidgey and Spearow prolonging this stupid battle. Just about when he opened his mouth, he heard the little girl's voice. Ah, right, he almost forgot she was there at all. He looked at her unamusingly. What was that about heroes? - Eh? Of course they do that, can't you see? - he said, glancing at the two birds, more focused on thinking about what to do next rather than giving the girl some sort of poetic answer. - Spearow attacked us, so it needs to be taught a lesson. Then I'll catch it and bring it to the Pokemon Centre. It's going to be fine. - whilst talking, Crow took out another empty pokeball. Pidgey raised its eyebrow-crest, hearing its trainer explain himself. " Do you hear? Let the human catch you, he'll heal your wing! You'll fly again!" it chirped. - Alright, Smolder, finish this off, would you? Seems like I have a lot of training to do with... Breeze. Let's name her Breeze. - Crow called Breeze back to her pokeball, when Smolder happily jumped in, with a fireball in his mouth, which he launched at the strugglingg Spearow.
