Typhoon puffed up his feathers, stretched his wings and put one of his talons forward, glaring at the rodent. No matter how sharp its fangs are, no Rattata can bring him down. His beak is equally sharp, if not sharper!
- Stop standing. - Crow's order came in a dull tone. - you have wings for a reason. - wings for a reason...? Oh right! You can't expect Rattata's, being earthbound creatures, to fly! By flapping his wings once, Typhoon escaped from the purple rat's vicinity and used gravity to dive at the Rattata with a powerful Peck attack aimed at its head. In the meantime, Crow still eyed the area, hoping his clownery at least brought the accursed Zubat back. It was already embarrassing, being unable to locate one of the most mundane pokemon in the world.

Mundane though it might be, ratatta could be pretty scrappy. They were survivors. This one just happened to learn to be extra bitey from a young age. As the spearow took flight, the earth bound rat couldn't do much to catch up. Only scurry for a bit and watch with cautious anticipation. Then, Typhoon dove back down to deliver a strong peck, which opened up an opportunity for a bit of counter attack. The rattata met the spearow head on, tackling Typoon, trying to ground him so that this fight could remain fair. Well, as fair as it could be between a bird and a mouse. As they both parted from the trade of blows, it was evident that both pokemon were growing a little weary. Every hit was a test of endurance. Who would outlast who in this race? It was impossible to tell quite yet. Wild Encounter Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Rattata LV 2 HP 54% [7/13]

It was quite painful to see his bird eat mud every time it attacked. If only he had his Honchkrow… Well, at the very least, the fight was still on, even if both Pokémon seemed to get exhausted. Good – Spearow definitely needed serious training. Whoever left him in the Adoption Centre clearly wanted him gone as soon as they got him. Crow couldn’t help but feel a bit of a kinship… bah. As though his past was insignificant, there was no need to remind him of it, instead looking to the future. And in the future? He saw himself and his mighty Fearow. The humble past he knew all too well, he would abuse to make Spearow stronger – even if it wasn’t true.
Hopefully.
As much as he wanted Typhoon to win that fight all on his own, Crow didn’t care enough to wait for battle’s conclusion, instead reaching for yet another pokeball and clicking it. He then tossed it with unmatched accuracy and a skilled hand at the precise moment Rattata was jumping at Typhoon with the intent of pinning him to the ground, ridding him of his only advantage. Just before rodent’s claws even scraped tiny bird Pokemon’s feathers, the pokeball hit it on the side, covering it in reddish light. Even if it doesn’t catch, this gives Typhoon a moment to gather himself together.
- Prepare, it might not lock! – Crow threw another order at the bird. Typhoon once more took to the air, awaiting the pokeball to break open.

The wild rat didn't expect a circular object to be thrown at it and so when the poke ball made contact with the purple fur of the wild Pokemon, it had an astonished look on its face as it dissolved into energy. The capsule hit the ground and bounced a bit before coming to a stop, the latch clicking automatically. Almost as if there was no way that the catch would fail. Instantly, the ball started to glow white before it disappeared from sight, due to the fact that Crowley had a full team of Pokemon. However, it would be easy for him to access his storage and do whatever he pleased. With the encounter completed, he now had the option of continuing with whatever search he was interested in, or call it a day and head off for some rest and relaxation. Whichever he chose, adventure was sure to follow. Typhoon gains 3 levels for the victory, grows to Level 5. Crow sighed. No Zubats in sight, it was getting dark and this work started to cost him more than it was worth, cost meaning his patience. - I dunno where your Zubat is. If I were it, I'd prolly fly for the hills too. - he shrugged and raised his arms. - So, you're living in Cherrygrove or where? I'd like some shekels for finding your Spinda. - he looked at the kid with barely any expression, just awaiting a reply. He really wanted to hit the Pokémon Centre in Cherrygrove already and call it a day but obviously, not without pay for his time.
Typhoon sat on a lower branch, scanning the area, searching for the damned thing as well and hopefully for a little pat a head for job well done. Smolder was holding on to his trainers leg, as if he would get lost if he didn't.

Finding a lost pokemon was always easiest if you had a plan and didn't just wander around aimlessly so it was no wonder they hadn't been successful yet. Cindy knew absolutely nothing about tracking pokemon so she just happily followed Crow's lead, expecting him as the adult to have all the answers and miraculously bring it to her and give her a happy ending. Hearing that he didn't know where it was made her hope plummel and her lip started quavering, "you.. you can't find it?" she asked sniffling, "what we're gonna do?" she added desperately and sounded like she was about to start wailing. Suddenly a blue pokemon with a long snout and sharp teeth stood beside the girl and gently patted her shoulder. She forgot her sadness and giggled in wonder, she clearly had no fear of long teeth although the totodile didn't really look scary either. "What's se..sekals?" Cindy asked Crow innocently as she patted the water croc on the top of its head. "What are you doing?! Get back here you inbecile!" A voice snapped furiously and the totodile sighed tiredly and looked unimpressed as a redhaired trainer stepped out from the dark. "We don't have time for this, get over here and find that zubat!" The trainer snarled and Cindy instantly perked up. "Have you seen Mr. Chomps?" She asked eagerly and the redhead kid looked disdainfully at her but she just obviously turned to Crow, "You heard dat Mister? He know Chomps! Ask him where he is! Pleaase!"The redhead snickered, "and what makes you think I'll spill the beans?"Cindy looked at him with a beaming smile, "'cause we ask ni-se-ly," she said full of confidence and looked expectantly at Crow. Crow's patience was truly running thin. He leered with annoyance at the little girl - what was he, a nanny? He turned around to go to Cherrygrove already, disregarding Cindy's sad face and tears in her eyes. He wasted enough time as is. Before he could take another step, a random Totodile emerged from forest greenery. He watched the girl approach it and pat it on the head, little to no fear of it biting her hand clean off. Just as Crow thought its trainer must have bene nearby, a yappy redhead showed himself, yelling at the Pokémon.
For a while, he just stared. The kid... looked familiar. Yet, the ex-Admin was pretty sure he's never met him before, no way he'd forget someone looking like that. Yet, still, there was a tinge of familiarity that he just couldn't place, not yet anyway. Shaking off the feeling, Crow pushed his sunglasses back up his nose. - Because I tell you to. - he replied drily to the redhair without skipping a beat. The kid effectively held HIS payday hostage. The disrespect! - Else I'll just put you in your place, kiddo. Typhoon! - he called to the Spearow. - "Comin'!" - the bird flew down to stand against the Totodile. - Peck him! - he sent out the flying Pokémon, which more than happily swooped at the blue croc.
Typhoon used Peck!
Yes, please, I'd like this job to resolve in Cherrygrove :3

The redhead glared at Cindy and decided to not lower himself to answer her, he wasn't in any hurry to move on though as it was clear Crow was a trainer and he wouldn't say no to a battle that wasn't a wild pokemon or a young bug catcher whose pokemon was as pathetic as the wild ones. Crow didn't look familiar to him at all, he hadn't been much into the Team Rocket part, other than it had destroyed his life and he hated it more than anything else in this world. Besides, all the grunts had looked like each other, so he could only recognize them when they were in uniform. "So scary, I'm shaking," the brat scoffed and rolled his eyes and then looked the former admin up and down unimpressed. "The only place you'll be putting anyone in, is yourself in the nursery home old man," he taunted and smirked when he go it his way and Crow ordered his pokemon to attack. "Head's up Totodile, Water Gun!" He barked his own order. "Are you that old?" Cindy asked Crow surprised and looked at him with a frown as she was thinking hard, he was old, but was he as old as her grandfather? "I'll take care of your pokemon when you die!" She promised with a kind smile, and the redhead kid laughed out loud. "Better listen to your kid, you will just get injured if you try something you can't handle," he taunted. Totodile sighed when it got an order and it stepped away from the kid to make sure she wasn't going to get injured. It watched the spearow soar around and winced when he dived and gave it a good hard peck on the top of its head. As Typhoon flapped away a blast of water hit him from behind and sent him rolling through the air, forcing him to fight to regain his balance. The crocodile grinned to the girl who giggled when it gave her a "thumps up" with a claw. Trainer observed the opponent's Pokemon. Totodile's Water Gun shot Typhoon right out of the air but the bird managed to avoid hitting the ground. Nevermind the absolutely juvenile insult the redhead produced out of his smug, punchable little face.
- Oh kiss my- - before he managed to finish his reply to him, Cindy spoke up. - EXCUSE YOU??? - he exclaimed, glaring at her shocked and offended. He was OBVIOUSLY not that old looking... was he? Haven't seen any grey hairs yet... - OF COURSE I'm not that old, don't be stupid! - he snarled. Typhoon overheard the conversations and mirroring his trainer also took offence, and cawed threateningly.
- "Hey! Ya will not insult MAH trainer! Squawk!" - Spearow charged right at the enemy trainer, ignoring the Totodile. Crow glanced at his Pokémon and was about to order him to stop... but didn't. Perhaps redhead required a big ol' bump on the head from an enraged bird too shut his piehole.

Silver nudged the girl with an elbow. Maybe this kid wasn't half bad. "You're outnumbered, old man. You're clearly geriatric. Check into the old folks home already and get out of our way." He laughed. That kid's innocent question had gotten Crow all riled up. It was hilarious. He snickered as the spearow swooped again, furious for the sake of its trainer and pecked at his totodile. The tired gator sighed and spat a burst of water at it, soaking that feathery menace again. <Look, I'm pretty sure I've got you outgunned here. Maybe you should give up?> He did peer back at the girl with a soft fondness. His master wasn't all bad. Sure, he could be a brat and cruel, but...there were moments. Small moments...where there was a hint of something human within the coldness. Sure, he was bonding with the girl over mockery and spite and ill-gained humor at Crow's expense. But it was nice to hear him laugh earnestly rather than in that fake, condensing way that he usual did at trainers. Never did Crow’s hand itch so much to slap a kid than at that moment. He knew very well it was all to get him winded, yet the annoyance and anger were uncontrollable. Trainer was not used to not being taken seriously; he was someone people feared to meet at night! People cowered before him, when he showed up! And now, some brat was calling him venerable?! Unbelievable, how low he has fallen! He wasn’t expecting starting from scratch would be this miserable… - Keep at it and you’ll find out where you’ll end up when I’m through with you… - a low growl escaped his throat, trying not to snap again with all of his willpower.
Taking a deep breath, Crow tried to focus on the battle: Typhoon was not doing well, to his disappointment. Totodile was more experienced than his bird… But switching out was not an option. Either Typhoon wins this battle or falls and learns the hard lesson. - Clamp his yapping maw, then attack. - Crow commanded. Perhaps this would prevent the annoying water reptile from spitting any more water.
- “Give up?! GIVE UP?!” - Typhoon screamed, fluffing his feathers to appear bigger than he was. - “Ya’ll give up! Ya’ll regret EXISTIN’! CAW!” - Spearow jumped on the Totodile, with one talon holding it’s jaws shut, the other holding on to it’s neck, pecking relentlessly at its head, drawing a little blood.

"Oh no, the old man is grumpy. Gonna shake your cane at us as you yell for us to get off your lawn?" Silver taunted with further laughter. "Totodile, wash that annoying bird away. It's making too much noise." Totodile couldn't exactly say he disagreed with the sentiment. This spearow was losing its feathery head and clawing and pecking at him like he was in a street brawl. Like trainer, like pokemon, some said. Both were hotheads. Clearly this spearow and this human were well-matched. Shaking the angry bird off his face after it decided to latch on and cause all hell, Totodile took aim and blasted that spearow (hard) with a water gun. It was always risky to chip down certain pokemon's health too low without taking them out. Totodile was the sort that got stronger when struggling. <You really should cool off. Maybe that bath will help you think clearer.> Totodile remarked dryly. Rival Battle Weather: Mist [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Totodile LV 10 HP 33% [11/33]

Watching his Spearow fall to the ground felt like a punch to the kidney. Typhoon barely did damage to the bloody croc. He could tell it was mocking his Pokémon. Mocking HIM. There were too many words, curses and all kinds of abuse he wanted to spit; at the kid, at the stupid Totodile, at the pathetic Spearow. Yet, nothing but tense silence. Crow was as strong as his weakest Pokémon… and his strongest couldn’t take out a beginning starter.
Typhoon struggled to his feet, all bruised. Spreading his wings, he cawed weakly. - “I can… fight, boss! I… can…!” - unable to finish his sentence, he collapsed onto the ground, categorically removing him from battle. Clutching the pokeball, Crow recalled Typhoon. Had he any more strength, he’d crush the thing with the Spearow inside it. - I’m tired of you. - trainer hissed, picking out his next Pokémon - one of the newest additions to his team, Rattata and sending her out to battle. Little rodent looked around curiously. - “Huh. Guess I’m doing this now. Hope my little bro is okay.” - she sat and scratched behind her ear with hind claws.
- Guillotine, Quick Attack this little dweeb. - Crow commanded through his teeth. Rattata perked up. - “Oh, ain’t that right, baby! I AM a Guillotine!” - she snapped her teeth, sharp as cleavers, then took off into the grass. - “I’m here! Now here! Keep up, darling!” - she called out to Totodile, swiftly moving between different points around the blue croc, ending up charging from behind and headbutting it on the back.

"You named your itty bitty baby ratty Guillotine. Woah there, Gramps. Leave the edginess to the young and hip," Silver taunted. "If that's the best you got, then I think my totodile is going to clean up here. Use water gun!" The quick attacking rat managed to surge forward and slam into the totodile, but a powerful water gun knocked it back, nearly taking it out in one hit. Yikes, that croc hit hard! He braced himself and surged forward again at lightning speed, but he couldn't quite find totodile's weak spot, so he ended up not quite taking the croc down. Which meant...uh oh. The rat was washed away by another water gun to the face. KO. The little kid giggled at Silver's banter, "Ratty got a bath!" "Heh. Sure did. Got alllll cleaned up. Could barely afford to blink before Guillotine fell to the strong Water Gun as well. Something at the back of Crow's head broke - no longer could he contain his rage and shame. - Shut up! Damn it ALL! - trainer let out an exasperated scream, his voice cracking at the last word. He just couldn't take this humiliation in silence, he had to let it all out on the brat. - You're lucky all I have is those USELESS Pokémon I JUST got! If only I had my... my-! - Honchkrow, Greed. He thought he was already over it, but no - he was still thinking his partner in crime and possibly the best Pokémon he ever owned. The most reliable, loyal, strong. Qualities none of his current greenhorn creatures had. Smolder was quietly standing by his trainer's leg, a soundless sigh escaping him and eyes looking to the ground. - Y-you'd be dusted! Done! Sent crying to your mommy, whatever! - aiming the pokeball at fainted Rattata, he recalled it.
Crow turned his gaze to the Charmander. It was between him and Breeze now... and there was good chance Smolder could be utterly destroyed by this Totodile's devastating Water Gun, yet it was the last good Pokémon he had with the best chance... Somehow, the trainer didn't really want to send him out. Perhaps it was mercy, maybe attempt to save the little dignity he was holding on to.
He took out the last pokeball and released Breeze, glaring at Cindy. - Why are you on HIS side anyway?! He doesn't want to tell you where your Zubat is! - he scoffed. - "Oh what did I just fly into now?" - Breeze cooed to herself. - Finish off the Totodile and let's be done with it already! - Crow ordered. Pidgey then flapped her wings and swooped at the blue Pokémon, tackling it head on.
