Name: Colby "Cole" Tsukiyuro
Age: 13 years old
Gender: Male
Trainer Type: Trainer (Possibly International Police later down the road)
Hometown: Castelia City, Unova
Appearance: Cole is a young boy with light tan skin and a lanky build with a bit of muscle. With a heart-shaped face, he has dark cyan hair with his bangs left unkempt unless during a formal event that forced him to fix them into a clean side-swept, which was hard to maintain without a hairstyler's help. Along with his dark blue acute-shaped eyes, some people tend to mistake him for a delinquent if it wasn't for his genuine kindness and curiosity. Unknown to everyone, he has scratch scars from the Murkrow incident on his elbows and on the back of his right hand, which he covered the former with dark cyan elbow sleeves.
While he wasn't a fashionable type, he tended to coordinate his outfits based on his favorite colors and current mood. For Cole, he prefers wearing blue, cyan, and green with a hint of purple. And despite his dream to become the greatest trainer, he preferred simple, yet sporty clothes that helped him traverse around the region on foot than wearing something bombastic. During spring and autumn, he mostly wore hoodie jackets, pants, and sneakers. In summer, he wore shorts while in winter, turtlenecks, coats, and boots. But his go-to attire is a simple navy blue hoodie half-jacket, light blue shirt, cyan fingerless gloves, navy purple pants with aqua blue bag belt, and blue canvas sneakers. In most cases, he tends to wear his hood up whenever he is focused on reaching his destination unless spoken to. His blue messenger bag is another part of his attire with its half-Pokeball logo on the flap, which he tends to remove before a battle, but never throws far away out of concern of potential robberies.

Personality: From first impressions alone, Cole can be seen as a serious young man who shares little emotions in public as he focuses mostly on Pokemon battles and training. However, appearances aren't enough to understand his goals and beliefs. For starters, he is a young kind boy who isn't afraid to stop and help someone in need whether they are another trainer or Pokemon. Being taught the morals of right and wrong made him hostile to criminals such as poachers, robbers, and people associated with villain groups such as Team Rocket. Yet he tends to be conflicted when he is confronted with people with grey morals and beliefs that contradict his own.
When it came to Pokemon, he viewed his party as friends and partners and befriended ones as acquaintances. He tried his best to bring out his team's full potential using everything he learned from his studies back in Unova along with a bit of breeding skills from his mother. On the other hand, he dislikes people who mostly treat their Pokemon as tools, and witnessing them abusing their well-being is enough to push him to try defending the Pokemon from their abusive trainers. Despite his focus on battling, he is willing to try out new things as suggested by his mother such as Pokelathon and Pokemon Contests. So he can be curious about new concepts he has never seen outside Paldea and Unova.
However, his dedication as a trainer and battler can sometimes cause him to overwork himself to the point of exhaustion. He can also become reckless when it comes to risks as the excitement from the battle or the intense anger clouds his thoughts, causing him to not think twice about the consequences awaiting his decisions. Yet, he won't be afraid of admitting his mistakes and is willing to learn from them to avoid situations in case his intense emotions control him again.
Those traits were a few things he was aware of due to his biggest fear is losing his family, friends, and Pokemon from criminals or any disaster. Stemmed from the incident as a child, he feared he might become weak again, and losing his family meant he failed to become stronger to protect them. Regardless, his fears ended up being one of his motivations to become a trainer. As long he remembers he has a lot to learn in his journey, he will move forward and enjoy most of his travels in Johto.
History: Cole started as a city boy born in Castelia City with his hard-working mother working as a Pokemon nursery caretaker and his father as a police officer. At the age of 5, he was exposed to the world of Pokemon battling after watching a championship match. Inspired by that very battle, he started reading not only on basics of Pokemon and Pokemon battling but also watched some famous trainers and the battles that were enough to drive him to become one of the greatest trainers in the world.
When he was 8 years old during his family outing at Shopping Mall Nine, he ended up lost while wandering around the store to observe Pokemon working there. However, he was then kidnapped by a robber as his hostage along with a few people who were with him at that time. Because of this, his father cooperated with Opelucid City Police to rescue him and the other hostages and fought off some of the robber's Pokemon. The result created a fire that nearly trapped Cole, but he was then rescued by his father, albeit with burns and injuries from both instances. Because of this, he was honorably discharged from the force for his selfless actions. Yet this made the young boy frustrated, feeling guilty he was responsible for his injuries.
Rather than feeling the same frustrations as his son, he encouraged Cole to move forward and never give up his original dream of becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer no matter what kind of obstacles he would face in the future. Following his advice, Cole grew more determined to achieve it. Only this time, he desired to be like his father and protect his family and others as a police officer to prevent incidents like the hostage incident he endured.
At 11 years old, Cole was invited to attend Uva Academy thanks to his father's connections with his uncle at Paldea. For one year, he moved to Mesagoza with his uncle to attend as an exchange student. While he did well with his studies and got along with most of his classmates, he unknowingly attracted overachievers who became jealous of his diligence and grades despite being an exchange student. Driven by envy, they started harassing Cole in their attempt to drive him down to the ground before his term ended in a year. Yet Cole wasn't fazed by their bullying. Rather, he simply ignored their harassment and reported them with proof of their bullying, suspending them in the process.
Before he ended his time as an exchange student, he went off to the academy's famous Treasure Hunt to experience his very first Pokemon battle. However, he was ambushed by his former bullies who tried to sabotage his Treasure Hunt by stranding him at Tagtree Thicket. Yet their attempts went wrong when they were ambushed by the murder of Murkrow, forcing Cole to intervene and defeat his bullies despite their actions. Just like his father, he was left with a few injuries, yet managed to drive them away before they could hurt them. This time, he remained undeterred by the unfortunate events and left Uva Academy as a hero and role model.
After finishing the rest of his studies back in Unova, Cole turned 13 years old, and under the suggestion of his mother, he decided to travel to Johto to not only start his journey as a bonafide Pokemon trainer but to discover new possibilities to achieve his goals for himself and his family.
Goals: As a first step of his Trainer journey, he plans to challenge the Johto League for a chance to battle the gym leaders there. If possible afterward, he might also try to challenge the Indigo League next along with the Elite Four. To do so, he also aims to train the best Pokemon party during his journey.
After hearing rumors from his father and online articles about them in Johto, he also wants to join the International Police and prove himself to be part of the team through his skills alone and not through nepotism. Other than that, his overall goal beyond his dream is to discover what Johto has to offer and have fun along the way
Other Info:
- He has two younger brothers and a younger sister 2 years older than the former
- His original team from the Treasure Hunt was Crocalor, Cyclizar, Staravia, and Riolu. He left them back in Castelia to protect his parents and his young siblings during his Pokemon journey to Johto.
- He also possessed a Tera Orb as part of his student exchange program at Uva Academy. But he chose to leave it back home to start as a Pokemon trainer properly.
- His dream team is Garchomp, Charizard, Corviknight, Ceruledge, Gallade, and Vikavolt, inspired by the previous battles he watched as a kid.
- He didn't tell anyone but his parents, but he is a fan of Joltik plushies.
