It was an momentous morning for this aspiring Researcher. Not only did he receive his very first Pokémon, but also a very serious undertaking from a very ill, possibly dying boy. After bidding farewell to Kent, he clutches the Scatterbug's ball in his hand tightly, Skye now sets out on his journey. Kent weighed heavily on Skye's mind to the point he gestured the affectionate Bulbasaur to release his hand as he wasn't feeling very touchy right now. Slightly saddened by this, Sunny complies and keeps his position in front of their trainer. As they get into the wilds they were quick to be alert and on-guard, this is where potential Wild Pokémon may attempt to strike.
The first step to collecting all the variants of a Vivillon would be learning how Pokémon actually evolve. Which he believes will come with raw experience, as his father, whom is a former competitive battler once explained to a young Skye that a Pokémon's growth often comes from training and battling. But truth be told, while he didn't dislike battling, he knew very little about the proper procedures. This will be a learning experience for him too.
Skye stands on the outskirts of Route 29 and pulled out his Johto Map gifted to him. His journey really did start off with a lot of gifts, it was time to use them to earn something. "Cherrygrove City will be first, then... But we should try our best to fill up the dex with a few entries, eh?" this was directed at the Bulbasaur, who calmly nodded his head. The boy will stand close to his Bulbasaur, as he knows the harsh realities of what a Wild Pokémon can do if a Human is not accompanied by one. With his Pokédex ready, the boy marches forward, ready to find some Pokémon! OOC: Notes:N/A Word Count: 307 Pokémon On-Hand:

They would find wild pokemon alright, and lots of them, unfortunately probably not what they would have hoped for as a first encounter, especially with a grass type and a bug type as only partners. The air got filled with flapping wings as a huge flock of spearows came flying in and settled in the trees around them, the atmosphere tensed as the birds were clearly unhappy, although spearows were known to be notoriously aggressive. They glared at the trainer and his pokemon. "This is the last chance to prove yourself!" A spearow on a big branch cawed out and silence followed as they all stared at the human and pokemon on the ground. Then the speaker whipped its head around to a much smaller spearow who was sitting on the branch behind it. "What are you waiting for?! Prove you are a real spearow! Challenge them and win!" It snapped at the smaller one who winced and reluctantly spread its wings before it glided down to land on the ground in front of Sunny. The flock of birds murmured among each other, which only made the young one hesitate. "It's a very easy opponent," came floating down as fragments. The big one clattered its beak impatiently, "well?"The young bird swallowed nervously and looked to be sulking, a glint of defiance in its eyes before it looked back over its shoulder with hopelessness as it looked at the aggressive flock. It turned back to look at Sunny again and swallowed again. "I.. I ch-challenge you," it peeped out and tried to straighten, but the disdainful mumbling for the other birds made it deflate again. Spearow [Lv 3] is reluctantly challenging you to prove its worth. Weather will be Clear Skies (clear)Shiny: qxkrGFBjp_1-421-42

Skye glanced upward when the large flock can be heard, he has seen birds flying over him before. As such he assumed they will not bother with him as long as he didn't do anything to provoke them. But, unknown to him, these birds were trying to plot against him. Somewhat distracted with recent events, he continues pondering how to tackle Scatterbug's evolution and training. Only when the tiniest Spearow lands in front of his Bulbasaur does he snap out of his reverie. "Oh.. Oh my ..." he murmured. The Trainer has seen Spearow in the past, knowing them for their aggression and anger. Something that makes him shudder a bit, until he gets a closer look at them... Something felt different about this one. They looked back at their flock as if it was unsure, the way it squawked had a hint of nervousness to it. It visibly looked saddened. The chatter behind it, while it could not be understood by Skye, seemed to be upsetting the Pokémon. After a moment, his Pokédex clicked open, and the camera is pointed at Spearow. Data will be scanned and collected.
"Mmm.. B.. Be careful, I believe it has the advantage here, Sunny. They look nervous, Maybe we can try to avoid the fight?" Skye suggested, though part of him does want to fight to catch it and check off another Pokémon in his dex. Perhaps maybe he could get it away from a bad situation. But this certaintly was not the first battle he was expected.
Sunny was already on high alert, especially when seeing how quiet the route had gotten as soon as the large flock appeared. Protecting Skye was his responsibility, and as such he will be quick to act, taking up a defensive stance towards the Spearow. However, like it's trainer, it could sense the hesitation in it's voice, and maybe even catch a small bit of rambling behind them, enough to get a better sense that it was being coerced. It's eyes start to soften at this realization, a glance back at their trainer to confirm their wishes. No orders to fight were given, so it decides to act on it's own and attempt to diffuse the situation on his own.
They are a patient sort, willing to give Spearow a chance to back down. Bulbasaur begins to speak calmly, "<I get the sense you don't actually wish to fight here, Little One. Why do you let them treat you so poorly? You deserve better.>"
Sunny was prepared for anything, especially for it to strike, but it truly did wish to help out this Pokémon. OOC: Notes: N/A Word Count: 424 Pokémon On-Hand:

The young Spearow lacked the confidence in itself for the battle. Something that its comrades were trying to force out of it. It stared at the large, bulbous frog-like Pokemon with a plant growing out of his back and gulped. “Y-you ca-can’t win thi-is fight.” Its words shook as it spoke. Spearow shot up onto a nearby branch and dug its talons into the rough bark. Maybe Sunny would make this an easy fight? If the bulbous plant didn’t struggle too much, then this could be over with relatively soon. “Mi-ight as we-well acce-ept defe-defeat!” It cawed, flapping its wings to make itself look larger and more impressive. But Sunny wasn’t going to make the challenge exactly easy, either. The questions were substantial. Spearow turned to its companions with a pained look as many of them stared at it with sharp eyes. They jeered, stretching their wings out wide at their sides and pointing towards the short-legged Bulbasaur. “What are you waiting for?!” “Rip the plant off its back!” “You are Spearow, you are brave!” “Show them what Spearow are made of!” “Chase them far away from here!” The words washed over each other as the catcalls of loud screeches and screaming chirps erupted from the other wild Spearows at once. “You don’t understand!” The young and naive Spearow insisted, turning back to Sunny with a small glimmer in its eye. The corners were dampened as though moisture was trying to leak from them. “I am the weakest Spearow in my flock. If I don’t learn how to fight, I’ll never become a strong Fearow!” Spearow insisted, swooping down on the ground. It walked up to Sunny and pointed one wing firmly in the Bulbasaur’s face. “Acc-accept my cha-allenge! Or pre-prepare to be-be rip-ripped to shre-shreds!” Spearow threatened hesitantly. Sunny could see through this young Bird, able to see that it would rather do anything else rather than engage in combat with a total stranger, for no reason other than proving itself to the flock. Considering alternatives, Sunny recognized his Trainer's desire to avoid conflict and hesitated to cause harm to the Spearow. With a wing pointed at his face and tears in the young bird's eye, the Bulbasaur's red-eyed gaze carried both pity and disappointment when they did not think for themselves.
The comments from the flock drew its attention, and he glanced in their direction, not amused by their orders for the juvenile bird to seriously harm its opponent in such a way. In that moment they felt a sense of resolve, knowing what they must do. A vine sprout from his side and began reaches for Skye's bag; earlier he saw the assortment of goods that the Assistant had given to his Trainer and he located an empty Pokéball. With determination in his heart, the capsule is placed into Skye's hands while giving him //the look//. A decision is made. Sunny believed that this Spearow is best handled in the care of a gentle soul like Skye.
"<... So be it, Little One. You'll be coming with us, unless you can defeat us first.">
In this situation, Skye had less understand in the exchange between the Pokémon due to the language barrier. But, he can see the emotions at play, amplified by the rowdy crowd of Spearow in the background. Suddenly noticing the tears in the the runt of the flock's eye, he felt a surge of sorrow. No longer does he see them as a hyper-aggressive bird that the species was known for. Bulbasaur placed a ball into his hands, and the look the Bulbasaur gave made him quickly realize the Bulbasaur's wishes. With a nod to convey his agreement, he took a deep breath, attempting to calm his nerves.
"Right... This one belongs with us!" "Alright..."
Inhale...
This is their very first battle together, he tries to remember the basics of battling, the ones his father attempted to instill in him at a young age. He's watched a few live battles from his Father, enough to get the sense of what to do here. A basic move they should start with.

Everyone knew how a spearow should be and act, they were aggressive and that meant that nobody else would try take advantage of them or try anything funny. A spearow who couldn't act accordingly would not only bring itself in trouble but the whole flock! It would mean that other wild pokemon would think they could push them around and cause trouble, instead of just giving in and leave them alone. This wouldn't do and the flock only knew one way to teach the young one, by example. The young spearow gaped confused at what Sunny said, "Wha..? What do you mean?" It stammered, "why.. why would I go with you?" It made little sense to it, it could either be a successful spearow and live with its flock, or it would get thrown out and be.. nothing. If it failed now, it was going to be a danger to not only itself but to whoever it was with, the flock had made it perfectly clear to it, and they had done all they could to help it build courage and become a proper spearow. It's beak was clattering faintly from nervousness but it straightened with renewed resolve. "That's the spirit!" One from the flock called out encouragingly although it didn't seem to work on the young spearow, it just felt the pressure and swallowed hard. Sunny set into motion and the brown bird hesitated, was it just feeling really discouraged or did it dislike battles all together? There could be a lot of reasons for a rookie mistake like this, and the flock reaction on it immediately. "Get it! Move! Peck its eyes out!" Came the loud cawing from several spearows and the young one jumped surprised and ended up just jumping a bit from one foot to the other until Sunny arrived and shoved it to the ground. Angry screeches were heard from the treetops while the young one got back on its feet disheartened, this didn't look good. The young spearow pulled itself together, it was now or never. "I.. I w-won't b-back down!" It said quietly but resolutely which none of the flock heard as they were too busy to screech and caw. "One setba-back won't s-s-s-stop me," it stammered and ran forward with its wings spread wide and gave Sunny a big peck right on the forehead. Sunny dashed forward at full speed upon receiving the attack order, using his body to slam into the poor bird. Despite carrying out the act, he feels remorse for hurting a creature who didn't want to fight in the first place. He will attempt to console himself with the belief that it was for the Spearow's own good. Even if they failed to capture it, they would emerge stronger from the experience.
<"It means... You'd be with me and my Trainer. I haven't known him long, but... I'm certain he will be more gentle with you.">
The peck was devastating; Spearow had the advantage in typing, and it stung terribly as its beak scraped against him. Sunny recoiled from the bird, emitting a grunt of his own. They had inflicted considerable damage, but they too were determined not to give in.
Skye can see the damage and it makes him bite his lip a little bit. He already knew that it would not be a favorable battle for them. His other Pokémon just wouldn't do right now, either.
"Again, Sunny. Hang in there... Just a bit more damage and then it should be enough!"
The Bulbasaur nodded at the order, mustering bravery as he rushed in once more. He propelled himself forward with another burst of speed, his little legs carrying him as he turned and attempted to deliver another devastating tackle onto the Spearow. The young and inexperienced Spearow couldn’t understand what Sunny went on about. No trainer in their right mind would want a weak Pokemon who had no nerve of their own to battle and chase others away. It would prove itself to its flock if only with vain hopes that this would be enough to get them off its back. But then if it did that – and was a worthy Pokemon of keeping – there was no way that Sunny’s trainer would be able to catch it after losing the battle. “Don’t let the weaklings get into your head!” One of its flock members screeched, pink wing pointed at the bulbous plant Pokemon with ravenous eyes glaring down on Skye and her Pokemon. “Jump on it and rip that tasty bulb off its back! So we can feast and so they know never to mess with a Spearow!” The juvenile Spearow gulped with a shaky nod of its head as it shook, stealing the courage to attack once again. “I-I a-am going to-to cha-ase you away! Then yo-you ca-an’t ca-ca-atch me!” It promised, swooping over to peck Sunny harshly on his legs. “I-I ca-an’t fail. And Train-ain-ainers only wa-ant tou-tough Poke-Poke-Poke-mo-o-on.” It huffed firmly. Sunny rammed into Spearow’s side with his head, knocking the small bird over. It tumbled in the tall emerald grass and squawked loudly from the pain. “You ain’t hurt!” An old Spearow with a large, gnarly gash over its right eye screamed from the highest point on the tallest tree nearby. “Pull yourself up by your feathers and get back in the fight! Don’t give up if you still have breath in your lungs!” It cawed loudly, flapping its wings as it jumped up and down on its branch impatiently. After hearing the Runt Spearow's retort, it became clear that they had a warped understanding of humans. Even Sunny didn't fully understand them, but he knew enough from being in the lab to recognize that different trainers had different desires for what they wanted in a Pokémon.
This was a tough battle.
The type advantage was certainly getting to him, even with the lack of experience on Spearow's part. Every single peck felt excruciatingly painful. Even his mind was under fire with the peanut gallery of Spearow cheering on his demise around him.The Bulbasaur breathed heavily, panting and catching his breath as he waited for his trainer's next order.
Skye was just starting out on his journey, but he was one of the lucky people in this world to have a father who made Pokémon battling his profession. He recalled some facts about how to capture a Pokémon, the biggest one being that you must weaken it first before attempting to do so.
The boy began to panic, fumbling with the shrunken device in his hand. "How do I--" he murmured lowly, grunting as he shook the Pokéball until he finally expanded it. "Got it..."
He eyed the Spearow with a concerned look. The weakness could be seen in their eyes. He was not like most trainers; he believed in growth. If people had given up on him, then he wouldn't be where he was today.
The rookie aimed carefully and gave his best toss toward the Spearow, hoping to catch it off guard. OOC: Notes: Attempting to capture the Spearow using a Normal Pokéball. Word Count: 254 Words Pokémon On-Hand:

The weary Spearow observed Sunny's every move, mirroring their actions with its own. If Bulbasaur took a step closer, the bird took a step back, both creatures equally exhausted, exchanging heavy breaths. Its focus was so intense that it didn't notice what the human was doing until the last possible moment, when it attempted to slap away the flying pokeball with its wing, successfully diverting it. The device landed amidst the grass, slightly away from the battlefield. "H-hey! I-I wasn't sup-pposed t-to fight the h-human!" it screeched, startled. Unexpectedly, the ball opened, and an aura of red energy surged toward the terrified Spearow, which now put much more effort into trying to escape its grasp than it had into fighting Sunny. It flapped, scratched, did anything to break free, but the light pulled it into the ball with a force far greater than the Spearow could muster. Soon, as abruptly as it had opened, the ball closed, this time with a Pokemon trapped inside. It shook violently, then stopped. Another shake, weaker this time. On the third shake, it barely moved. Then... the button blinked with the familiar "ka-tching" sound. The bird was caught! The flock that had been observing began to caw loudly and chaotically: " Fool!" " Weakling!" " I always knew they wouldn't make it!" " Humans' pet!" They took to the skies, flying in disarray, as if venting their disappointment in their former flockmate. The last one that remained on the branch, the one with the scar, stayed silent and glared. After giving Bulbasaur and Sunny one last disappointed glance, it disappeared among the flock with the beat of its wings.

Though it was a request from his very own Bulbasaur, something didn't feel entirely right about what he was doing. Witnessing the battle felt a little unsettling, and the Spearow's panicked screech as the capture device landed made him feel like he had betrayed the creature. Skye winced as the Spearow, clearly terrified, slapped the ball away. He thought he had failed, and a frown creased his face.
**CLUNK!**
Much to his surprise, the ball shot open and began to try to capture the weakened Spearow from a distance. It was a phenomenon he had seen a few times, but this was the first time he was using a Pokéball himself. The ball snapped shut, and then the tense struggle of watching it shake and rustle ensued. His heart began to beat fast as it seemed like the shaking would never cease, side to side. It paused, then started shaking again...
**Click!**
The iconic sound is heard, he knows that this is the result this is the result of a successful capture. Skye's eyes widen and excitement is felt, this was the very first Pokémon he has captured. A moment he will cherish and remember forever as he rushes over to collect the orb. The aggressive flock began chiming in. Skye as a Human could not understand what they were saying, but they could infer from the tone and context that they were being crude to their former flock mate. It made him angry that they didn't even care that they lost a flock mate, someone that was born and raised around them. How could they be so cruel to their own kind?!
Skye met a gaze with the final, scarred Spearow who didn't leave right away. Their disappointed gaze stirred some anger within him, yet he remained silent. He made a mental note to return and prove them wrong at a later date. But for now, he glanced down at the Pokéball. After a moment he will take a deep breath and steel himself for the interaction with his new partner, he'll wait a few minutes and click the ball open. Spearow emerged from the Pokéball, her gaze filled with confusion. As she scanned the area where her flock had been, she found it empty, with only the Bulbasaur and human she had been battling. The realization of failure weighed heavily on her, causing her to visibly deflate and tears to well up in her eyes. The loss of her family left her feeling desolate. How could anyone want her like this?
Skye didn't see them as a Normal Spearow, something he would be uneasy of approaching. When he saw the tears he felt pity for them and rushed to kneel at their side. "Oh no, no.. Please don't cry. You'll break my heart. It's okay, they were really mean, you know...? I know it must be different in the wild, but I'll never force you to battle like that, okay? We can work up towards it, but only if that's what you really want. I'll accept you no matter what you decide, okay?"
Spearow, still feeling vulnerable and uncertain will hesitate before meeting Skye's gaze. She has not experienced such genuine kindness and compassion, and this certaintly was not the interaction she thought would happen upon meeting a Human. She thought they only desired the strongest. The words resonate with her, offering hope in a situation that felt overwhelmingly bleak. Slowly, her tense posture begin to relax, but she still feels a little weary of the Human. With a shaky breath, she begins to slowly sit down, allowing the pets, silently accepting companionship and support as she gazes at the Bulbasaur, who gives them a slight nod of approval. After a little while, Spearow politely nudges Skye's hand away with her beak, signaling that she's had enough of the touching. Skye appreciates the gesture, understanding that a normal Spearow might have reacted differently. He slowly withdraws his hand, respecting Spearow's boundaries.
"I think... I'll name you Whisper." he declares to them, feeling it to be a fitting name for a gentle creature such as them.
Though, she doesn't know what to think of a name in this moment, she will just sit there, feeling a little dull and unsure. She has a whole life ahead of her. Sunny, the Bulbasaur approaches them and gives them a slow nod of approval, <"Be proud, Spearow. You were too strong for me! None the less, you can see what I mean. Not all Trainers are cut from the same cloth, this one is happy to have you with us, no matter what. A 'True Spearow' is something only -you- can define."> he will lecture the creature before plopping down next to them, exhausted from their battle. Whisper glance towards them in response, giving a slow nod... She is at least willing to give this situation a chance now.
Skye decides it's time for both of them to rest and recalls them to their Pokéball's. "Take a rest, you two... That was a tough battle," he murmurs softly. With a sharp exhale, the tension of the battle dissipates, leaving a sense of satisfaction. Despite the challenges, he finds joy in the outcome, knowing he now has another precious friend by his side. Whisper will need a lot of help to grow and flourish, and Skye is more than willing to provide it. While he didn't expect to capture a Spearow as his very first Pokémon, he doesn't dislike the idea either. OOC: Notes:

A calm day, flowers blooming and filling the air with heavy scents, while wild pokemon were frolicking in the fields and birds make acrobatics in the air. What else could you wish for on a perfect spring day like this? What could ever disturb such peace? "HEEEEELP! NO! GO AWAY!" A kid screamed and soon he came crashing through the undergrowth, stumbling when his bug catching net got stuck on a branch. His stumbling pulled it free again and he did not slow down as he tore through the flowers, breaking most of them and scaring all the wild formerly frolicking pokemon away. Reality had set in again. The kid spotted Skye and dashed towards him, his strawhat had fallen down on his back, being kept from having fallen off by a string which was around the boy's neck. "Please! Please you are a trainer right?! Can't you stop it?! It wasn't on purpose, I swear!" He blabbered and pointed in the direction he had come from. As on cue a pokemon leaped out from between the trees, the purple rattata paused for a moment before spotting them. "I'll teach you to watch where you walk! Those were perfect berries and you just stomped on them! Destroying them!" It shouted at him and pelted towards them. The kid grabbed Skye's arm and tugged it fearfully, "Nonononono! I don't like them! They are full of fur and so angry! please please please!" The kid screamed and jumped behind the trainer in an attempt to hide. "Bugs are better, bugs are so much better! they are sweet and small and squishy! They don't bite! I'm so sorry Kent, I just wanted to find those butterflies to you but then this came and was so angry! I'm so sorry, my wurmple didn't stand a chance!" The kid blabbered, it didn't sound like he excepted any answer from Skye. "And you said, you said," the kid sniffed and he changed his voice a bit as he mimicked his friend, "I'd really wish I could travel Buzz, I really do," the kid Buzz sniffed some more, "but I failed you. I'm never gonna find them," Buzz sobbed. The rattata was not slowing down. Bug Catcher Buzz wants to help his sick friend Kent but has gotten himself into some trouble. Skye clicked open his Pokédex to begin reading and finalizing the entry he had just collected on his newest Pokémon. Perhaps Professors Elm and Oak would be interested to learn about the behaviors of Spearow's and how not every one of them was overly aggressive, Whisper being a testament to that. As the fresh spring air filled his lungs, the floral scents made him smile. However, the blooming season also brought a downside for the boy: allergies.
Achoo!
"Heck..." Skye grumbled while wiping his nose clean with a cloth. Sniffling as he collected himself, in the distance someone was approaching quickly, "Huh...?" he murmured. At first he couldn't help but tense up and wonder what was about to happen. The kid fearfully tugs at his arm and gets behind him as an angry Pokémon approaches. An assumption is made, but he can't really know the full story from a glance. Either way he wasn't going to let a Pokémon maul a kid over events prior to what happened.
A hand reaches out for the Kid's head and he gives them a pat, putting on his confident facade in the face of an angry, rather threatening looking Pokémon. Just look at the size of that friggen incisor!
"I got you, kiddo. Don't worry about a thing," Skye tries to reassure the boy. This is what he believes an Adult should say in a situation like this. The Pokédex will scan Rattata, collecting it's Seen Data, and he'll click on one of the orbs on his belt, "Don't talk like that, though. Just because you face a set back, doesn't mean you cannot travel and help out your friend. Sometimes you will lose, and that's okay. You get back up, understand?"
Perhaps it was time to show the power of Bugs, of course he doesn't know if this match up is good other than it being neutral typing-wise, but any battle experience will be good for the buggy, his other two Pokémon just needed a touch more rest. The ball is given a toss into the air to release his own bug, he hopes will prove them wrong.
"There's always... Hope!"
The capsule clicks open and a bright light reveals Kent's old Pokémon, who would be traveling with Skye for the time being. It looks around to asses it's surroundings, and upon seeing the angry Rattata becomes much more alert. Whilst it was lax and didn't prefer the stress of battle, he didn't exactly hate it either. Hope gets his game face on!
A second orb is revealed, it clicks open and Spearow will be let out onto the ground near the kids feet. Whisper appears to be loafing and resting when she appears, glancing around as she was still getting used to being energized like this. They caw curiously, and timidly, their head tilting to look up at the boy. The plan was to help get Whisper more acclimated to seeing a Trainer Battle, easing her in by exposing her to Battles. If he showed her that not every battle had such brutal stakes like the flock she was in previously, maybe she'd have a bit easier time battling without such stress and anxiety.
"Whisper, just watch for now, okay? And keep close to that kid, please. Make sure he's protected." "This is Whisper, Kiddo. She'll keep you safe, too. If she's open to it, you're welcome to pet her as well.~♫" "But for now...- Hope use Tackle attack!" OOC: Notes:N/A Word Count: 578 Words Pokémon On-Hand:

Buzz's face turned red and his eyes were very puffy. Still, water streamed from the crevices as he screamed and hollered in fear, an anxious hand waving around erratically in the air whilst pointing towards the angry rodent. He had no idea what he'd done to cause the purple mammal's rage, though as the buck-toothed rodent snapped it's mouth towards Buzz's feet, he squealed and kicked at the ground to try and shoo it away. "But my friend is dying!" Buzz cried insolably, insoluble, to get Skye to understand why he couldn't afford to have any setbacks. "It's not fair! Why do some kids get to become adults and others have to leave us? No kid deserves that! Right? So why would Arceus let that happen?!" Buzz sobbed. Meanwhile, the wild Rattata swung wildly at the small black caterpillar Skye called out onto the battlefield and hissed. It's whiskers twitched and its nostrils flared, taking in deep breaths of air greedily. "You really should stay out of this!"[/b] Rattata slapped its tail, with its curled tip, against the ground and dug it's sharp claws into the earth angrily. "That boy smashed up all my good berries! He needs to pay!" Rattata shot off through the tall grasses and jammed Hope head on as the small bug crawled as quickly as he could after the purple rodent. The two collided in a bundle of sharp claws and body smacks, each ramming into the other in haste to cause as much damage as possible. Bug Catcher Buzz's eyes lit up as he noticed the familiar looking Scatterbug. "My friend has one just like that! He wants to see all its forms while he's still alive! That's what I want to help him with, ya know?" Then he narrowed his eyes suspiciously on Skye's scatterbug and thrusted his hands on his hips firmly. "Where'd you even get this bug from, hmm? My friend can't be that close to...to...I won't believe it! He'd never give his Pokemon away!" Buzz practically screeched at the top of his lungs. Skye seemed too nice to be a thief. But what if she was? Could Buzz really trust her to protect him then? Wild Encounter Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Rattata LV 5 HP 79% [15/19]

Skye was cronfted with a -very- diffcult existential question of the existence of suffering in their world. A child posing this question caused his heart to sink. His confident facade was momentarily shattered, revealing a look of concern as he glanced over at Buzz with a worry. The unfairness of the world and the weight of such a profound question for a child to grapple with weighed heavily on him. He knew he had to answer carefully, so he fell silent for a moment, contemplating his response.
The Trainer takes a deep breath and reaches for the kids shoulder, offering a sympathetic pat. "I don't know, Kiddo... That's the honest, truth," he speaks, his voice going gentle and quiet with the voice one would use to console youth. "Maybe Arceus has a plan, as amazing as our world is, there is much we don't understand. There is a lot beyond our control, but we do have free will, right? That's pretty cool." He tries to console the child with these thoughts. "This world can be beautiful, it can be ugly... But our choices matter. Why dwell in the tragedy and suffering in the world, when we can strive for peace and happiness? We move forward, always. There's a chance Kent can get through this, nothing is impossible..."
Skye will attempt to get Buzz's attention and point towards the Scatterbug gifted to him. Perhaps Buzz didn't know how desperate his friend was, but Skye was genuine. It was the very same Hope entrusted to him by Kent.
"Kent entrusted his precious Scatterbug to me." "Even if he must lean on others, he's still moving forward, and getting out when he can." "He hasn't given up yet..." "Will you?"
A pause is given, he turns his attention back towards the battle, making a final comment on the matter before he resumes giving his attention to it, "If we work together, we can help Kent realize his dream. There's Always Hope... There's a reason as to why he gave Scatterbug that nickname. I just know it," he says with a determined voice, he can feel his confident grin coming back. It's less of a facade because now Skye feels a rush of determination. Kent has a dream, and that is what he is working towards.
Meanwhile in Battle...
Scatterbug is yelled at by the Rattata, but even in the heat of battle Hope was rather nonchalant about everything. Relaxed, and going with the flow of things. Because it had to defend Kent on the occasion, he did know exactly how to battle. But, he neither liked nor disliked it, really. It blinks as it was told to stay out of it, <"... Huh...? I mean... Berries are okay, you can always go pick some more. Like don't have a cow, mannnnn. This area is super packed with food. You should like.......... Try some leaves, man. They're like totally far out and stuff,"> Scatterbug will retort with a very relaxed, airy drawl.
<"What was I doing again...?"> he spoke lowly, glancing around.
"Hope, use Tackle again!"
<"Oh... Right.. That. Sorry, bud, I gotta hit 'cha."> <"Hereee I cooomeeee...!!!">
Hope takes an offensive stance, lowering himself before using his little legs to CHAAAARGEEEE at the Rat for a blitzing strike where he throws his entire body at them. OOC: Notes:N/A Word Count: 550 Pokémon On-Hand:
