ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day Zaiden’s feet skidded to a stop. What made this strange mess of broken branches strewn throughout the forest’s floor? The teenager’s first instincts followed the logical notion that they were shed pieces of the trees around him, given the proximity of the densely packed forest full of tall pines, massive oaks, and sweeping willows. Though they were odd both in the manner of how they must have snapped and in the general shape they’d taken on. Plucking on off the ground, Zaiden pulled it close to his face and narrowed his eyes while he observed the strange plant. Was it…a large bear tearing through the forest on a ravenous rampage?! Ursaring were known for their deadly natures and ill temperament if any of the childhood books had given Zaiden any indication of their nature. Dark chocolate brown hues widened in alarm, beads of sweat perspiring down his face. His eyes darted all throughout the jungle-like habitat, searching through the tangled bushes and wild ferns that propagated its reaches. Was it the strange creature staring back at him this whole time?! Though he was too old to believe the bears in Goldilocks and the Three Ursaring owned log cabins of their own, he was nearly positive these stories were crafted based on disastrous encounters with the species before. Zaiden tiptoed quietly through the forest, raising himself up on the tippiest parts of his feet as though he were trying to imitate long-extinct Dinosaur-like Pokemon and crept slowly as fear seized his heart and his imagination took flight. Now, when dealing with literal children trying to be sneaky it’s best to remember their age group. While Zaiden was on the cusp of adulthood in his teen years, he was still very young in so many ways. Pausing behind a tree not quite big enough to hide him and turning sideways as if that helped camouflage him more, only to carefully poke his head out around its side in search of the strange Pokemon that scared him, should have been all the proof you needed to testify to that. He relaxed, however, when he noticed the sleeping form of a brown duck nestled in its makeshift nest on the ground. While they were adept flyers if push came to shove, most were known to run around with their leeks grasped firmly in their wings instead. Taken to the land just as much as they could have taken to the skies, Zaiden was oblivious to the flight risk that rested peacefully in front of him, no doubt proud of its handiwork. He crept slowly out from behind the massive oak whose large branches stretched several feet from its base in every direction, still tip-toeing over the sticks as though if he were to flatten his feet once more he’d surely be spotted. There you are! Zaiden sighed a quiet breath of relief and clapped cheerfully. I didn’t mess this up! Yay! Now…which way was back to Sylvester again? Should he accidentally startle the bird – whether by clapping first or when he would quite literally try to walk over and pluck it out of its makeshift nest as though his mission would legitimately be so easy – Zaiden would pluck a ball free from his bag and toss it into the air in a hurry. A small Ralts appeared in the blink of an eye and tilted her head up to stare at her trainer, who gestured towards their flighty avian friend as though to suggest that she hurry up. He waved his arms around in wide circles, then folded them under his head and pretended to sleep. Kanja nodded, turning to the Farfetch’d as soon as it dared to move and attempted to hypnotize her acquaintance right back to sleep. “You look tired and should rest. Work, work, work, that was all there was in life for the poor farfetch'd, no breaks when it wanted, no exploring, no cutting trees to fall down blocking roads, no fun! Just cut this down, cut that down, behave yourself, focus and don't tease the humans. So boring! And to make things worse, now its very strict trainer expected it to obey his kid? The two farfetch'd hadn't needed to talk with each other, they had barely exchanged glances and the moment the dad was out of sight, they had left the kid to his own.
It had been a wonderful day, it had teased a couple of trainers and even managed to sent one off in a completely wrong direction! They would be lost for days!

Now it was taking a well earned rest on the trunk of a tree it had just cut down, and since it would have taken so much advantage of sumbling on another pokemon sleeping in the open, it expected everyone else to do the same to it, which was why it came up with the very clever idea of the sticks on the ground.
It of course didn't work if the one trying to get to it realized it was a trap, but come on? Who would ever think some sticks on the ground was a warning system? Zaiden would have had no trouble getting close to it, and if he had thought of a way to snatch it while it was sleeping, he would have been on his way back by now if he remembered the way of course.

The bird got startled awake by the clapping and it lashed out with its leek, slapping Zaiden over his arm. It narrowed its eyes annoyed at the human who had dared to disturb it, and when he even sent out a pokemon it knew what he planned. Humans were so predictable.
It whacked Kanja on the top of her head, sending her sprawling to the ground and scoffed when she softly suggested it should go back to sleep.
"whadda ya think I was doing when ya disturbed me?!" It accused but felt drowsiness tuck at its eyelids, the sunray was so nice and warm, and it had had such nice dream.
It was not dumb enough to go back to sleep right in front of them though, it flapped to a branch midway up in a tree, had it been more awake and clear thinking it would have ventured right to the top of the tree, but this would have to do for now.
"Now leave me alone!" it warned through a yawn as it settled down on the branch, and its eyes closed.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day That really hurt! Zaiden shied away and wrapped the hand of his other hand over the spot where Farfetch’d slapped with its leek. He rubbed the sore spot with his fingertips as though that might ease the pain somehow. His eyebrows lowered and wrinkled as he furrowed them together. There was a small red welt forming where the sharp vegetation managed to strike. Through a wrinkled nose and tightened eye lids that squinted from the pain, he studied his arms while flexing his fingers quietly, ensuring that no lasting damage had been done. That won’t work very well then…I guess…” Zaiden hummed glumly to himself. Kanja stared up at the tree where Farfetch’d rested with a long, drawn-out sigh. How was this going to help her at all?! Now the nosy little Pokemon was way up high, tucked away from all the dangers of the world below. She growled, placing one of her small hands against her chin and quietly thought to herself. After a moment of serious consideration, the small humanoid Pokemon placed her hands and feet against the trunk of the tree and slowly scooted up its rough bark. It wasn’t an easy feat by any means and would involve a lot of stumbling and falling along the way. But she had a target to acquire and currently that target was taking roost high above their heads, where it hoped to remain out of reach. “This was not how I expected to spend my weekend.” The small Feeling Pokemon grumbled underneath her voice. Some of Farfetch’d own agitation had leaked into her personal emotions and stirred inside of her chest, causing her to want to flake out on the mission entirely. “Why can’t the stupid human climb this tree if he wants the bird so bad?” She continued to mumble underneath her breath. Her hands slipped along the sharp edges of the old tree’s bark, causing her to fall from the all of 4 feet she’d managed to scoot up the tree. Oww! That really hurt! She yanked herself off the ground and slowly brushed herself off. If that wasn’t the way to do it…what was?! Kanja stared up the long trunk of the tall tree and huffed. “What’s my next bright idea?!” She growled to herself and slowly thought. Then it dawned on her! The branches would be better support systems to help her scale this massive beast! The first one was beyond her reach, though. But if she combined her physical climbing capabilities with her natural psychic energies, then she would be able to eventually reach the top. Right? She channeled her energy and used it to help lift her off the ground, where she slowly levitated up to the first branch. As soon as she gripped the branch and swung up onto it, with much struggling and shuffling to boot, she’d lose the psychic connection she used to lift herself up. It was a lot of work for her mentally and required resting time in between so that she could heal herself from the hard efforts. After she’d finally finished climbing up to the sleeping Farfetch’d, Kanja would smile quietly and unleash a deep breath of relief. Oh! That’s pretty smart of her! Zaiden’s face brightened as he watched his Pokemon quick at work to collect the wily duck. But if I snap my fingers to get her attention…I might wake Farfetch’d up again…agh! He grumbled softly underneath his breath, unsure of what do to. Kanja simply reached out with her lips and attempted to place a couple of gentle kisses on Farfetch’d forehead as it slumbered away. OOC: Kanja uses Draining Kiss x2! Farfetch'd should sleep through both rounds since last round it had already attacked before being put to sleep. When it woke up, the farfetch'd would probably have some feelings about this vampiric re-enactment of sleeping beauty. After all, it wanted a nice nap and for everyone to leave it alone, not for some little twerp to take advantage of its snoozing to properly put it into a coma! After the first kiss, it stirred a bit. Not true love, you see. At the second, the ralts would feel the bird shift, clearly starting to rouse, feather wings curling tighter around its leek like it was prepared to swat whatever was touching it. 

During its brief snooze, the farfetch'd dreamed, oddly, of a pink swanna. No. Wait. Blue. Now pink again. Why was the fairy godmother Sylveon so indecisive? No. Wait. There were lots of fairies. That one was a clefairy and that one was a— The many pokemon danced in its head, swirling and mingling and tinting its vision pink-and-blue as it started to blearily open its eyes again to figure out what was touching it.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day Dreams were powerful forces of nature that often-left cryptic messages about the future. At times, they were just heightened realities being replayed through the rapid eye movements and full body twitches happening when one was locked in a deep sleep. Kanja watched, tilting her head up so that her piercing eyes stared at the feathered avian as it tossed and turned, long primary feathers gripping tightly onto his leak. She pulled back and ducked her head, dodging one of Farfetch’d groggy blows with ease. It was almost adorable, watching her opponent in trance as he slumbered away mostly quiet except for the random snores that escaped his beak. Then he stirred. Kanja backed away along the thick branch they were both perched on and pressed her back against the rough bark of the tall tree, eyes fluttering about with a wide gaze. Her heart raced inside of her chest, causing her blood to course in a rapid pace throughout her body. The previous move was a powerful blow. It nearly knocked her out with just a quick whack. Here Farfetch’d was, slowly rousing from its midday reverie. “Hello, friend.” Ralts spoke to Farfetch’d, hoping to ease the leek-carrying duck into an almost pleasant conversation despite the bad footing they’d both gotten off on. Zaiden’s eyes stared up through the tangled web of branches into the canopy above his head. Dread seized his heart. Something about the moment seemed to cause Zaiden’s heart to skip a beat. He struggled to breathe as though some invisible force punched him in his stomach, knocking the literal wind out of his lungs. Why was something as simple as facing this wild bird and battling it, to help get it to return to its trainer where it rightfully belonged, feel like a ton of bricks being placed upon his shoulders? Kanja managed the battle well despite the initial misstep in the beginning with Farfetch’d powerful blow from his leek. He couldn’t explain it. Is Kanja able to handle this match on her own? Doubt flooded the back of Zaiden’s mind. He flexed his fingers nervously at his side, absentmindedly gripping the ends of his shirt as he tried to calm himself down. How strong are these birds?! I don’t…have anything else that can stand up against them. Maybe Moyashi… Zaiden scratched the skin on the bottom of his chin so roughly it felt like he might tear it off his body with his fingertips. He winced from the pain and pulled his hand away, quietly flinching from the sharp aches that echoed from his chin throughout his nervous system. “I don’t think I’ve asked you properly but…why don’t you want to return back home?” Kanja tried with a slight tremble. She needed to distract her would-be aggressor. “Your eyes look like they give a pretty rough stare.” Kanja commented as she searched for conversations that might spark interest in Farfetch’d. The small humanoid Pokemon would slowly and carefully make her way back to her opponent. She waved her hands in the air and watched Farfetch’d quietly as she tried to slip closer still. “Are they particularly mean to you? I’m sure I can talk my owner into giving up this endeavor if you’ve got cruel owners.” She suggested with a raised eye. Kanja’s voice was soft and sultry, meant to try and lull the wily duck slowly back to sleep. Could it work, though? She needed Farfetch’d to close its eyes once more and drift off into a slumbering wonderland, so that she could slowly work at somehow getting it out of the tall tree. How, though…hm? How… A question that Kanja couldn’t even begin to answer, considering she knew she wasn’t strong enough to simply drag Farfetch’d out of the tree by herself. Farfetch'd roused to see...that pesky ralts he'd smacked earlier now standing above him. He narrowed his eyes, raising that leek to smack them again. But the ralts spoke quickly and softly, almost pleading, like it had something to say worth listening to. Thus the farfetch'd did not immediately strike down the ralts, but when the implication arose that his trainer was cruel to him, he had enough. He fluffed up and got to his feet, positively LOOMING over the smaller, weaker pokemon. <That stupid little brat might not be worth listening to, and sure, I might wanna catch a nap in the sun, but my trainer, MY HUMAN, the one that is actually worth listening to, is a good'un. He takes good care of us. I don't like hearing anybody talk smack about him. Especially some tiny little upstart like you.> He swung that leek again and slapped the ralts so hard with it that the little fairy type was flung right back to Zaiden's feet. <Now go away! I have a nap to return to that you interupted.>

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day Kanja’s quiet eyes stared into the large hazel hues of the wild brown duck. The fowl’s eyes burned with a quiet fury, indignation alighting his gaze as he screamed back in response to Kanja’s questions. She’d erroneously upset her opponent. Kanja fidgeted and fumbled backwards on the strong branch, wincing as the small offshoots snatched as her flesh, scraping her skin. It hurt, but nothing like the pain of her mistaken identity of the type of trainer this Farfetch’d must have had. “It was not my intention to misjudge you or your trainer.” Kanja tried to squeak out in reply, raising her hands to shield herself. It wasn’t enough, however. The wild fowl spun his large green leek around on the tips of his wings and struck out. Pain filled her entire body and caused her to rock. She staggered, feet swaying on the edge of the long branch. Kanja struggled to remain firmly planted in the canopy above the ground in vain. Her feet slipped on the edge of the strong branch and caused her to tumble over the edge. “This is not the way to handle a disagreement!” Kanja screamed in alarm. Her body folded as she hit the ground. She curled up into a crumbled heap, eyes unable to stay open from the immeasurable torment that raced through every muscle of her body. Zaiden watched his Pokemon struggling with wide eyes. Kanja was the only viable candidate that he had to send against Farfetch’d. The rest were bugs and grass who would easily fold under the pressures of battling something as formidable at the wily leek carrying duck. Though Goshikka was an outlier from the rest same as Kanja, she was still too young and inexperienced. She would surely fold away with a single blow, leaving only broken hopes and dreams in the wake of the battle. Zaiden shook his head firmly, feet trembling as he slowly backed away from the tree. He knew that he wasn’t prepared to handle this. He was as useless at home back then, when his father lost his storefront and sold off Zaiden’s childhood Pokemon friend, Charizard, as he was now. It hurt. Tears bubbled up around the edges of his eyes, though the young teen shook his head firmly and roughly wiped them away with the side of his arm. The discomfort that scratched at the back of his brain festered, echoing words of discouragement quietly on repeat. Why did he think that he could be anything? Why was he trying to convince himself that he could actually save his family’s home before the inevitable happened? He was just some dumb teenager. What did he know? Zaiden turned quickly and backpedaled through the densely packed overgrowth of the surrounding forests in a quick hurry back the way he came. He fished for anything inside of his pockets to try and distract the wild duck. Some pocket lent littered the ground, along with several green bills with monetary amounts noted along their corners, and random receipts he kept balled up after his most recent purchases before leaving Azalea. Just a delicious meal that warmed his belly and fueled him for the trek ahead. Now here he was, the tips of his toes pounding across the roughened terrain in a heated need to disappear as fast as possible from the area. He owed Sylvester an apology. Perhaps he could try again. Would the other gentleman accept that, or simply refuse the help of someone as weak and pathetic as Zaiden was? Zaiden knew deep in his heart that he couldn’t fault Sylvester if the young man instead insisted he should just give up entirely, and admit defeat. Wasn’t that all he was good for, anyways? It hurt…oh, it hurt! Anger burned underneath the humility and depression that screamed below the surface. He was angry at himself, and at his inability to be better than he currently was. <Not how to handle an argument? Bah. This is exactly how one properly handles an argument. Especially with nuisances that are too nosy to know better. Now scram!> He fluffed and slashed his leek at Zaiden with menace. The human panicked and the farfetch'd leered meanly as he waddled closer, wings outspread. <Go on! Shoo! Scram! Get outta here! I will go back to enjoyin' my nap since YOU insisted on being a pest and disturbed me for no good reason.> Swinging at Zaiden's heels, the farfetch'd would chase him a short distance before settling his gaze on Zaiden's dropped lunch. Oh. Tasty.

Just to add insult to injury and abject humiliation, the woodcutter's bird would wander over to the food and start pecking open the packaging. Soon, it would have a fully belly to go along with its desired nap. And Zaiden? Well...he certainly would need a slightly stronger team to handle this bird if he came back this way.
