THE HUMAN CLOCK
Name Johan Morow | Age 27 | Gender Male | Trainer Type Collector | Hometown Levincia, East Province, Paldea |
Prefers Ice Types, Psychic Types, Steel Types | Avoids Bug Types, Fairy Types, Fire Types |
Appearance:
From birth, his hair colouration never deviated from its chestnut brown. He has however experimented with its length and style over the last couple of years, now favouring a short undercut, characterized by its very short cut on the sides and back with a frontbang stylized to stand upright and fall backwards. Disliking hair products Johan avoids using any as much as possible, causing some strands to fall in front of his eyes from time to time.
His blue eyes are slightly narrow with downwards corners, the left eye's outmost corner tilting slightly lower than the right's. While he doesn't need to wear them in his day to day life, Johan does carry a pair of glasses with him just in case he needs to spend multiple hours focusing one a particular point.
Standing at an average 5 foot 9 and weighing 175 lbs, Johan doesn't really stand out in a crowd. Daily visits to the gym, one for muscles and not one for Pokémon battles, does make him slightly broader and fit looking than the average office desk worker.
Preferring to travel as lightly as possible, Johan's wardrobe consists mostly of the clothes he wears on his back with a couple of spares. Not to mention emergency supplies if the weather takes a turn for the worst. During spring and autumn one can see the man wear a dark beige coloured trench coat reaching just past his knees with a hood at the top. If the temperature allows it, Johan likes to leave it wide open. Underneath the man wears a black sweater and under that just about any simple, decent looking button down shirt. His legs are covered by a pair of white pants with a black line travelling down the trouser legs. The trousers are tucked in a pair of olive army boots that cover his shins almost entirely.
During the colder winter season Jason pulls out a third layer of clothing from his backpack and wears it under his pullover, while keeping the coat shut firmly tight. His white trousers on the other hand are tucked away and replaced by a pair of cold resistant pants that are tucked into his boots. Once summer arrives, the coat, resistant pants and boots are stored away into his bag, in their stead he opts to wear easily breathable button down shirts made from Mareep wool (IRL: Merino wool) and a pair of walking shoes.
Year round, Jason wears a metal necklace gifted by his parents. The accessory is something akin to a dogtag, as he has imprinted his initials, blood type and some contact information on it. He can always be seen wearing his first selfmade wristwatch,

Personality:
Order and logic. Those are the two words Johan lives fully by. Eveything in his life is categorized, planned ahead of and taken into account. Abhorring anything that doesn't comply to his plans and disliking wasting his time, subjectively or not, Johan approaches every task methodically and values precision and accuracy above all else.
Interactions with others often feel like puzzles he can't quite solve. As he struggles with small talk and empathy, Johan often comes across as blunt or aloof.
While he carries a kind expression by default, Johan's empathy has never been a strong point. If it doesn't align with his interests, doesn't concerns him or his immediate family and friends then he cares very little. He is aware that certain situations require a certain response - good news, happiness; bad news, sadness - and while he can act these out, seldomly does he truly associate these reactions with actual feelings. Preferring logical reason over mindless emotions, Johan simply doesn't see the point in them.
Introverted by nature, Johan has a max capacity with which he can deal with others. When this is reached, he becomes more withdrawn and looks for a way to leave and get some alone time. The treshold depends on his familiarity and fondness of the people involved.

History:
Johan Morow grew up in Levincia, Paldea, a bustling metropolis as the eldest twin in a five person family. Consisting of a mother, a Pokémon Breeder, a father, a researcher specializing in Steel-type Pokémon, an older brother and a younger twin sister. From a young age, he displays an affinity for mechanics and precision work.
While other children are fascinated by Pokémon battles, Johan was more interested in how things worked, particularly timepieces and multi-headed or multi-bodied Pokémon. Ever since he lay eyes upon his father's Probopass and his mother's Vanilluxe, Johan has been obsessed with these Pokemon as they reminded him of his precious watches. Multiple brains, attached to one body and aiming to work in tandem to achieve a goal. Their intricate nature and coordinated functions fascinate him. Yet they also confuse him, for why would some of them gain extra consciousnesses with evolution, while others merge into one being.
The obsession with order and logic developed early on thanks to his grandfather once showing him the inside of a watch. Seeing the gears all neatly arranged and doing their job mechanically, deeply resonated with Johan. Finding comfort in the predictability of gears and springs, a stark contrast to the chaotic nature of Pokémon contests that his twin Astrid adores along with the battles frequently watched and partaken in by his brother Lucas. While Lucas and Astrid were off on 'adventures' and play dates, Johan spent his time meticulously disassembling and reassembling clocks and watches in his room, along with reading up on Pokemon like Dugtrio and Klinklang.
Despite being polar opposites, the twins share a close bond. Johan often provides practical solutions to Astrid's more impulsive plans, thus balancing his sister’s spontaneity with a more methodical approach. Astrid, in turn, helps Johan navigate social situations, offering a bridge between him and the rest of the world.
While his siblings are outgoing and spontaneous, with wild dreams and aspirations, Johan has a more 'humble' goal. Lucas desires to become a Pokémon Champion who specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon, like his idol Lance, and Astrid wants to become the Top Coordinator with Bug Types. Johan instead desires to own a simple watch shop and study as many Pokemon consisting of multiple bodies or heads on the side.
After finishing his schooling, Lucas apprenticed under an old watchmaker in Saffron City. His mentor recognized Johan’s talent and patience, essential qualities for the intricate work of watch repair. Over the years, Johan honed his skills, becoming known as one of the best watch repairman in the city.
His shop, "Timeless Precision," is a small, orderly haven amidst the bustling city. Every tool has its place, and every watch is treated with the utmost care. The shop is also a retreat for Lucas, a place where he can indulge his need for order and precision without interruption.
As much as Johan loves his shop and the predictability of his life, he realizes that if he wants to achieve his second goal he must venture out and collect his desired Pokemon. Most are simply too expensive for purchasing on his salary. As such, the man requested the help of his mentor to keep an eye on his shop while the man himself is off to explore the neighbouring region, Johto.

Goals:
The main goal in his life is to own at least all species of Pokémon classified as having more than one head or body. Including those seen as one entity even when their make up consists of multiple 'spirits' along with Pokémon that have a symbiotic or parasitic relationships with other Pokémon or organisms. He has a minor interest in Pokemon with a 'partner' such as Minum & Plusle or Solrock-Lunatone, even if these Pokémon have no influence on the other Pokémon's biology.
Johan aspires to create the most accurate and reliable timepiece in the Pokémon world, a clock that could rival the precision of the legendary Pokémon Dialga. He also hopes to bridge the gap between his logical world and the more chaotic, emotional world of human relationships, possibly by developing better social skills with the help of his Pokémon.
