No sooner had Silas attempted to engage with the boy in conversation, two bug pokemon entered the scene. Silas huffed as he saw two pokemon that he had already captured previously made their appearance, neither being the fluffy pink thing he sought. "I suppose we can continue this conversation later." As one sided as it had been thus far. "Ace, clear the way with aerial ace. We have no need to catch either of these." The over leveled fearow cawed and swooped down, quick as a whip as she made to strike the cascoon with her fast and typically unavoidable assault.
Silas propped his hands on his hips and watched, leaning back a bit and catching sight of that splash of red. He squinted and peered up, grimacing at what he saw, "Parasect! What in arceus' name are you doing up there?! You are supposed to be a ground dwelling pokemon. You have absolutely no business climbing trees, much less perching on a branch like an oversized noctowl! Get down."
Down, huh? Well that might be easier said than done.
<But I see so much better up here> Protested the parasect, rubbing its claws nervously together. Maybe it could prove its usefulness! The parasect retreated from the branch to try scuttling up higher, earning a groan from Silas. One of absolute disbelief at what he was watching.
And he couldn't really scold the dang thing right now because they had an AUDIENCE. Silas had to play nice and act the part of meandering fool who thought that training in the woods in this weather was perfectly normal. Absently, he brushed his jacket, sand still clinging to the fabric from the earlier weather. "Pokemon are so very...interesting, aren't they?" Silas said to his...companion. White teeth gleamed in the sparse light. "I haven't had that parasect long but it seems to have a rather interesting quirk. Have you ever seen a parasect climb a tree before? I sure have not. Ha. The wonders of the pokemon world. We're still learning new things every day."
Ace flapped her wings and peered back at them momentarily before casting her gaze upwards. Maybe she could herd the parasect down later, since it seemed insistent on ignoring their master for some reason. That impudent bug was going to make them both look bad. Didn't it understand the importance of one's image or how to preserve it?

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
The sharply dressed man spoke to Zaiden, causing the mousy-brown haired boy to nod slowly. He wasn’t exactly trying to hold a conversation in the heat that raged on around them. He wouldn’t really be too keen on holding a conversation on a nice breezy day, though, to be fair. Where one might expect words to tumble out of another’s lips, only silence and a quiet nod followed. “No…ghosts…” The words were but a whisper as a chill crawled up the base of Zaiden’s spine. He had come across a rather ominous feeling place not that long ago. Was that related, perhaps?
Zaiden stretched his legs and scratched the back of his head nervously. Nothing about Silas stated that Zaiden couldn’t trust him. Nothing besides the thousands of trope media of small kids going missing in a deserted area where a strange and dangerous fellow, with a seemingly sweet smile interjected themselves. Those were just old wives’ tales, right? Looking Silas over and considering his words…they HAD to be old wives’ tales. It wouldn’t make sense not to trust this older fellow. Zaiden opened his mouth to introduce himself, “…,” then stopped. Wait. Silas never introduced himself. Zaiden didn’t know WHO this guy was just yet.
Then two Pokemon crawled out from the heavily wooded forest and growled, preparing to fight them both. He was well aware of both of the Pokemon, though only one of them elicited emotions from Zaiden’s eyes. He couldn’t explain it. Water pooled at the corners as memories of his time during the earlier moments of his travels flooded to the back of his mind. Shiwa didn’t stay a Cascoon for long – eventually evolving into a Dustox before leaving him completely to help defend his old homelands and colony he’d originally left as a Wurmple. But still. It hurt!
Shiwa, I’m sorry if I wasn’t the trainer you needed me to be. He pulled out a small Poke Ball and tossed it in the air with the click of a button. Zaiden raised his arm and rubbed his eyes, wiping away the small teardrops that clung in their corners. I never meant to be such a failure. I loved you and cared deeply for you. Are you ok? Are you happy? Do you get plenty of food on Route 29? I hope that one day we’ll meet again. I miss you so much! With the flash of a light, a small bluebird with a wide, sharp yellow beak and striking red plumage around his face and chest appeared.
“Have you called upon me again because you need only your strongest and bravest to thwart these foes?!” Tako swooped up high into the air and landed on one of the branches nearby, pecking at his wings for a moment to clear away some debris. “Well then, I shall show the world what it means to truly be a bir- wait. That’s my foe? Really?” He soared over and landed on Zaiden’s head, tapping him in the skull with his claws carefully so. He twisted his head this way and that whilst blinking profusely. Please, someone tell Tako that Zaiden was obviously kidding! “Far be it for me to argue, but I could take these on in my sleep. Is there not a single other thing around, you’d rather me face?”
A wing pointed to the tree-loving Parasect that refused to fit normal conventions. Clearly, THAT was his foe. “That’s a much more worthy opponent, don’t you think? What can I possibly learn from THIS?!” Zaiden reached up and plucked the bird carefully off his head, before placing it down and pointing towards the small cocoon and lightning bug pair. “Come on, Tako. You can do this. Aerial Ace, please.” Tako folded one wing and placed it on his chest as though he’d been hurt by those words. “Well, OF COURSE, I CAN HANDLE IT! I even said so! Pfft! Watch and learn, you plebs!” And kicked up a gust of sharp winds meant to hopefully rip through his opponents.

As soon as the battle began Illumise planned on using speed to it's advantage as it took off like a rocket trying to counter Ace before she could deliver her attack. The plan was not very well though out however as she barely did a thing to the Fearow who quickly shook off the attack before making a mad dive towards the poor Cascoon it was targeting. The harsh sunlight did not do a thing to protect the bug as Ace slammed right into it sending it flying into a trash can right next to one of the many trees in the area. As the Cascoon became trapped in the can Illumise now found itself in a two versus one battle and before it could even try and run for it's life Tako made his move scoring a direct hit with his own Aerial Ace. The attack was not as powerful as Ace's was but it still did considerable damage to the lone remaining bug. Not only were it's hopes of winning this battle diminishing by the second at this point it would be lucky to survive this encounter as now both bug types could focus all of their strength against it. Begging for mercy was one of the few remaining options but as it was responsible for starting the fight in the first place it did not have much hope that either trainer would give it any quarter as it awaited it's fate in the next round which baring some sort of divine intervention would be the last round. Illumise might have a priority move, but that quick attack barely dinged off fearow's bulkier frame. She craned her head at the insect, eyes narrowed, <Oh, you're still awake? Did this pipqueak not end your obnoxious existence already?> Ace peered over at the taillow who had complained to its trainer about these foes not being worthy. Being too weak. Fearow scoffed. <You did not smite one of those pests in a single blow. Clearly you have more to learn from battling them. I, however, do not. I am merely here to clear away the insignificant foes that fall in the way of my master. We are searching for a proper prize and none of these are worth our time or attention. Hmph.> She swooped down to try to toss this illumise into a trash can alongside the cascoon. One shouldn't litter after all, and leaving behind the bodies of these pitiful creatures would indeed be like leaving trash on the ground.
It might cause someone to trip.
<Now THAT is how one deals with their lessers. They are clearly unworthy of greater attention and thus one most be rid of them in haste. If you were not here to slow me down, I would be done here already.> The fearow sneered as she kept flapping her mighty wings. Clearly she wasn't the nicest of birds, and she had a certain, pompousness to her. An almost spoilt nature that was unlike the scrappier spearows found in Ilex and the early routes. She was also ignorant the cultural nuances of the wildlife nearby. Perhaps that was all due to growing up in the safari zone, sheltered from trainers and poachers alike, only leaving out of boredom when she encountered a human with the audacity to throw a ball in her direction.
Of course, the next time she was let out of that ball, it was not that human but this human who she saw. It hardly mattered. This one suited her fine enough. They were agreeable on a good many thing, including not wasting their time on that which didn't serve them.
"No ghosts, eh? Lucky you. If you keep on walking, you probably won't see any then. Most folks who see them usually do before getting this far in," Silas remarked. He never tried to go any closer to Zaiden, keeping a polite distance as he kept his focus on his own pokemon.
