Maxwell king » OOC: Let's go!  Maxwell had gotten a notification via his Pokedex that the annual Johto region Bug Catching Contest was being held again soon. In a previous iteration of the competition the young adult male had captured a Shelmet and entered it for grading which had resulted in second place overall, now Max was well and truly determined to go one better than before. Much like he had done so last time, Maxwell caught a bus from the outskirts of Violet City to Goldenrod City. Once arriving back in the thriving metropolis, Max made his way to the National Park. After entering the necessary paperwork at the front desk, Maxwell noticed a familiar face, that of Bugsy the Azalea Town gym leader. Max had been disgustingly rude to the well renowned bug type enthusiast and there was sure to be some bad blood still boiling between the pair, with this firmly in mind, Max chose to ignore the purple haired man and diverted his attention to the new task at hand.
Max made his way from the front desk through the glass sliding doors and into the park in preparation for the contest to begin. There were many other trainers around with eager facial expressions etched on their being, Max was all business however, he had chosen to use Jupiter the Ampharos for the competition as the siren wailed overhead and the rush and thrill of competition begun as everyone set out on their own path to potential greatness. Personality: Jupiter has a bubbly personality and is always up for a chat, her attention span is minimal and she does tend to have a number of forgetful moments in which it seems her head is off in the clouds.

Maxwell king » OOC: Get nuked Dustox! It wasn't long before Maxwell's first encounter made its presence known as a Dustox firmly got all up in his air space. Jupiter the Ampharos was now out of her pokeball, the pink scarf wearing electric type pokemon seemingly not aware of the bug type that was all up in Maxwell's grill,

Maxwell king » OOC: Onto the next encounter! The wild Dustox had not stood a chance against Jupiter the Ampharos, the lethal Thunderbolt attack from the electric type pokemon more than enough to send the bug type pokemon scurrying off to wherever it had been before interrupting Maxwell's personal space. After using her attacking maneuver, Jupiter was seemingly distracted by the many trainers around the National Park, so many potential friends to be made she thought to herself. Max was not feeling the same way as his pokemon, instead he was taking an all business, no fun approach to the Bug Catching Contest and reminded Jupiter of as much,
"Nicely done on that last one Jupiter, keep your mind on the task though, we're here to win it all, not have fun

Alot of the bug type pokemon seemed to be in the thick of battle with other trainers and their pokemon, meanwhile Maxwell was left searching high and low to find one worth his time. It wasn't until he caught a glimpse of an insectoid with an orange, blob-like body hiding inside of a log. The bug type pokemon was clearly not a fan of all the action that was going on around it and trying to lay low and mind its own business, Max though was having none of that as he pointed to the hiding place in order to draw Jupiter's attention back to the task at hand,
"Jupiter, zap that blob out of that there log with your Thunderbolt attack"

Maxwell king » OOC: Max out here playing pest control Had Bugsy been watching how Maxwell was approaching his second go-round of the Bug Catching Contest, the Azalea Town gym leader would be less than pleased, but no doubt not surprised in the slightest, it was such a Max thing to do. Winning was all that mattered to Maxwell in this competition, his best chance at securing said victory would be to find a rare species of bug type pokemon and keep it in a healthy state so that the judges couldn't find a way to deduct points from him.
After shocking the ever living daylights out of the insectoid pokemon that had been minding its own business hiding inside of a log, Jupiter started skipping off away from her trainer, her mind very clearly distracted by something
"Jupiter, stay focused darn it"

Maxwell king » OOC: Next Bug step up to the plate Jupiter was in good spirits despite the fact her trainer was simply utilising her as a weapon of destruction, the electric type equivalent to bug spray. Much like the Dustox and Dottler before it, Metapod stood nigh a chance against the powerful yellow, bipedal ovine Pokémon.
"Keep looking out for something rare Jupiter, this contest is so far full of useless, non-rare bugs, typical really."

Maxwell king » OOC: Gotta submit something right? Maxwell spotted a small, brown, beetle-like Pokémon on the path ahead, had Jupiter been alert and aware or her surroundings she likely would have seen it before her trainer. The beetle-like pokemon had four horn-like protrusions on its head, its face was pink with lazy eyes and a bulbous nose with black curved stripes over and under it that seemingly resembled a unibrow and a chinstrap beard. The bug type pokemon had a unique appearance, one unlike the numerous encounters that Max and Jupiter had previously in the bug catching contest,
"This one might be our best shot so far, Jupiter use Thunder Wave to paralyze it"
