Alex entered yet another BCC once again. Thankfully, this time the weather was a little cooler, so he would try his best to refrain from complaining about the weather, to himself. However, he had a late start because he needed to use the bathroom to clear his intestinal pressure, and he wasn't planning to have an accident out in the grass. By the time he had returned and readied to begin, the official guided him to the tall grass at the same time as he saw several trainers returning and completed their BCC. Either he was in the loo for too long or the bug Pokemon were swarming trainers extra hard this year.
He tried to walk himself to that one tree he had the previous year once again, trying to see what would spawn. He tossed his Pokeball to reveal his companion this time, a Sandshrew. He didn't want to bring his much stronger Pokemon this time around, and the little guys like the Sandshrew could use a little practice. Duerks could hear all the bugs buzzing and chirping about, and would readied himself for whatever decided to show up.

The Sandshrew let out a hiss as a strange cry was heard. Alex looked ahead and saw a Durant! It's such a quite sturdy bug type Pokemon! He would definitely have to catch it! He immediately called out a move for Duerks to use, "Duerks, use Bulldoze!"
He then watched as his ground type went for the attack. He prepared a Sport Ball for capturing afterwards, but on second look, the opponent looked quite sturdy and a tough one! This Pokemon might give his young Sandshrew a rough time, so he would have to adapt quickly to whatever it dished out!

The defiant Durant went first and crawled forward for a bite, crushing the Sandshrew inside its mandibles. Then, Duerks used a Bulldoze and created a shockwave on the ground. The Durant was blown backward a little, but it wasn't stunned completely. The bug type came forward again and bit Duerks once again. Alex threw a Sport Ball, but the Durant quickly broke up without much of a protest.
Seeing that his Pokemon might not make it from another move. he grabbed a bottle of Fresh Water and gave it to his Pokemon to replenish stamina. Then, he ordered his Pokemon to go for another Bulldoze. He was right that his Pokemon was a tough one! Now, he hoped his Pokemon would endure the next hits, so he could try another capture after weakening it again.

The bug type just seemed to only know how to use its mouth as it bit the armadillo monster. The ground type wasn't enjoying this lack of variation from attacks.
"Hey, stop biting me! Can't you tackle or use your legs or something? I don't taste that good! The Sandshrew complained at the ever-biting Durant.
Alex heard his Pokemon's cry from the painful bites, and noticed Duerks was panting yet again, being on the last inch of his health. He was surprised at how tough this little Durant was! He dug a different beverage from his bag this time, and popped opened a soda pop to revitalize the struggling ground type. Then, Alex prepared yet another Sport Ball and prayed to for a successful capture.

Soda pop not self update and ball again
The sandshrew drank the soda pop and let out a burp from the carbonated soda. Then another burp. Okay, that was all of it.
Alex groaned in disappointment as the previous sport ball failed. The bug pokemon proceeded to use its mandibles once again to attack the sandshrew. Alex got yet another soda pop and sport ball to tried the same thing again.

Soda pop not self update and ball again
The Durant maybe finally was convinced to do something new for an attack in between Alex’s item usages. The bug type crawled forward and pinched the sandshrew with claw like mandibles. Heh, they looked almost like a bite attack. The ground type had gulped the soda pop again. If he had any more, he could write a reviewer or blog post for it. Alex prepared yet another sport ball and hurled it at the defiant and tough Durant. This might be one of the harder Pokemon he has tried to catch. The sport ball sailed through the sky for an incredible journey, pushing away any floating dust that might have been in the air. The sphere arrived at its destination at the Durant and boarded the involuntary passenger. Now, he waited to see if the passenger would like to join Alex’s crew member.

Alex would be constantly using up his hoarded supplies of Soda Pop, but he genuinely don't use his healing items a lot. His Sandshrew had consumed the Soda Pop once again, and then the Durant struggled free from the Sport Ball after playfully wobbling the capture device a few times. Alex fumed on the inside, and decided this Durant needed a little further weakening.
The Durant went for another yummy attack once again, but its second attack was physically kicking the Sandshrew with its multiple legs! The Sandshrew wasn't happy about this, but decided to be coy about how to end this battle. "Hey um, do you want to live in this grassy land forever? Or do you want to explore the world? Maybe come with my human and you could see the outside world?" The Durant didn't say anything, but Duerks had hoped it would start thinking about it.
He grabbed another Soda Pop to refresh his Pokemon as usual, and then, in a surprise turn of event, ordered his Pokemon for another move. "Use Bulldoze!"

The Durant tried to claw the Sandshrew, but this time it... missed! Surprisingly, the Sandshrew dodged the attack and did not take a hit! However, after the ground type had used a Bulldoze at the opponent, the Durant returned with another biting attack. Alex observed his Sandshrew, and since it wasn't panting or struggling right now, he figured the ground type could take one more hit before needing another Soda Pop.
The trainer held onto the capture device, and hurled it into the air again to watch it bop the sturdy opponent. The bug type was sucked inside and the sphere landed on the ground to begin the wobbling and wiggling. Alex watched with anticipation to see the result of this capture.
