<I can see that you are plotting something! I will not be bested! I am the fiercest set of paws in this forest! Let me tell you, you will NOT be victorious. I AM THE BEST!> the spinda cried out, tilting and charging again, running as fast as it could into the bulbasaur...who apparently was waiting for that moment to spring an awful trap! As it staggered back to regain its balance, uddenly, snow was plopped right on top of it! HARD PACKED SNOW! A SNOWBALL! The spinda shrieked in surprise, flailing and floundering but there was no escape! The snowball struck the spinda hard enough to topple it right off its feet and then it engulfed it in freezing coldness! <YOU ARE CHEATERS!> It whined. The spinda was thoroughly taken off its feet and off its guard. Victory was in sight! All Maddy had to do was choose whether she would throw a ball or end the battle with another of those powerful snowball attacks! It was up to her. Seeing Spinda slightly off-balance and weakened by Mimiko's snowball tactic, Maddy decided this was her perfect opportunity to switch up her strategy. She reached for Mimiko’s Poké Ball, her mind racing with anticipation. “This is our chance to strike back! Mimiko, return!” she called, holding up the Poké Ball as the red beam absorbed her loyal Bulbasaur, bringing Mimiko back to rest.
With a quick breath, Maddy’s fingers moved to another Poké Ball on her belt—this one belonged to her newest, lower-level Pokémon, Rolly the Sentret. Choosing Rolly against a stronger opponent like Spinda was a risk, but Maddy knew that the element of surprise might give her the edge she needed. She took a deep breath, tightening her grip on the Poké Ball before tossing it forward. “Come on out, Rolly! This is your chance!” she shouted, her voice full of both determination and excitement.
Rolly materialized on the battlefield, squeaking cheerfully as her fluffy tail twitched with energy. She looked back at Maddy with a bright-eyed enthusiasm that showed she was ready to give it her all. Maddy knelt down briefly, meeting Rolly’s gaze. “It’s weakened, Rolly. You’ve got this! We can finish this together,” she said, instilling confidence in her little Sentret.
“Strike back, Rolly!” Maddy commanded, her voice strong and encouraging. With a delighted squeak, Rolly dashed forward, focusing intently on Spinda, who was still reeling from the earlier snowball strike.

Man, that snow that Maddie hit it with was really cold! Sentret staggered up onto its feet and shivered violently. It shook its fur and busily focused on trying to push as much of the packed snow back off itself as it could. It was so busy in its moment to clear its fur from snow that it didn’t even notice Mimiko and Rolly trading places amid the battling. “I didn’t expect to fight against a bu-bu-bunch of chea-cheaters!” It chattered, nearly freezing from the cold touch. As it would gripe and complain, vines shot out of the ground around Spinda and whipped Rolly soundly. While Spinda couldn’t naturally learn the move themselves, the red panda watched Mimiko very carefully during the time she had battled against the large bear on the snow-covered grass. It seemed easy enough. Just summon the powers of mother nature itself and, WHAM! Spinda easily thumped Rolly soundly multiple times along her sides and back. Rolly easily leaped atop her opponent. The rotund meerkat’s sharp claws slashed against Spinda’s stomach and dug through its fur. “Hey, wait! That really hurts!” Spinda tripped. It fell down in the snow and tumbled about with Rolly in the cold snow. “Who are you anyways? Why are you helping that cheater? Are you also a cheater?” Spinda asked Rolly, practically demanding the other Pokemon to answer it. If they wouldn’t keep switching and playing dirty games, it could easily defeat them. Maddy is worried at her Sentret, so she decide to use a Potion. "Don't worry Rolly, Potion!" She sprays a Potion on her Sentret to heal her. And then she is smirked at a wild Spinda who demands to ask Rolly who she is and if she is a cheater. "Oh, she is no cheater. Mimiko and Rolly and I have creative strategies and ideas!" Maddy replied with a determination. Now Spinda is snowballed, Rolly has a chance to beat it.
With Maddy's new idea, Maddy call out Rolly the Sentret. "Rolly, roll yourself into a ball to make yourself a snowball and finishing Spinda off!" Rolly nodded back with a chirps as she cheerfully rolled herself into a ball and spin itself to make herself into a big snowball before quickly pops out the snowball and launch the snowball at Spinda.

<That sounds like c-c-cheater talk!> the spinda complained, trying to tackle that pesky Sentret for its audacity to help the snowball throwing bulbasaur and the mouthy human. However, its limbs refused to cooperate. It was shivering too hard, the snow clinging to its fur and weighing it down. Its muscles tensed and it shivered. Hard. Unable to move and show that sentret a piece of its mind as the human healed it up. Bah! <I will g-g-get you! Are you h-h-healing? How is that f-f-fair?!> Struggling a bit more against the cold, the little bear managed to get its limbs to cooperate and throw itself forward, slamming hard into the sentret and pushing the rodent into the snow. <I wanted to defeat you in a fair fight! How can I prove I am the best here if you fight me two on one?!> Growl. However, the battle was already decided. With a renewed vigor, Rolly curled up and used that snow clinging to their fur to become a living snowball. The spinda yelped as it tried to dart out of the way, only to be slapped by sharp claws as the sentret exploded from the ball. <Ack! Ow! Okay, fine, fine, I give up! CHEATER HEADS!>

With a soft smile, Maddy stepped closer to the wild Spinda, sensing that the battle’s intensity had shifted to something gentler. She walked confidently and then lowered herself to sit cross-legged on the ground, making herself appear as non-threatening as possible. “It’s not cheating, Spinda,” she said, her tone warm and genuine. “It’s just my way of finding creative strategies when times get tough—for me and my Pokémon. When we’re in desperate situations, we learn to adapt, and that helps us grow stronger together.”
As if understanding the sincerity of her words, Mimiko the Bulbasaur and Rolly the Sentret stepped closer to Spinda, their expressions friendly and inviting. They shared smiles with their former opponent, their posture reflecting the bond they shared with Maddy—a bond built on trust, respect, and a willingness to face challenges head-on.
Maddy chuckled lightly, a glimmer of excitement in her eyes. “And besides, battling isn’t just about winning or losing for me,” she continued, glancing at her Pokémon and then back at Spinda. “It’s about having fun. Coming up with something new, like that snowball attack, made the fight exciting and reminded me of just how clever we can be when we work together. It was like imitating an Ice-type move, wasn’t it?” She tilted her head playfully, acknowledging the ingenuity of their improvised tactic.
Taking a brief pause, Maddy closed her eyes, savoring the moment, then opened them quickly with a bright gleam. She reached for her Poké Ball and held it out in an inviting gesture toward Spinda. “Your moves were impressive, too,” she said warmly. “You gave us quite the challenge. So, what do you think? Would you like to come along with us? I bet Mimiko and Rolly would love to have you on the team, and I’d be honored to train and learn with you.”
Maddy’s tone was graceful and sincere, her outstretched hand reflecting her hope that the wild Spinda would choose to join them on their journey. Mimiko and Rolly nodded in encouragement, eager to welcome a new companion.

After having been completely defeated, it was an easy thing for Maddie to catch Spinda. Not only did it no longer have any will to fight back, but it also eagerly accepted her offer. It grabbed Maddie’s hand in its massive paws and slowly picked itself off the snow-covered ground, dusting the snow and debris from its fur. From here on out, Spinda would be Maddie’s new Pokemon and not just some wild Spinda of the forest. Something else stirred. A small pinkish bug crawled out and stared at Maddie and Spinda curiously. It held a single leaf between its many buggy legs and chewed on the bit of food it managed to find as it stared at Maddie. Were all trainers like her? Nice and kind, only wanting to help out the Pokemon they met along the way? Could the young Wurmple ever manage to find something as genuine for itself? Suddenly, it sped across the ground with the horn on its head pointed directly at Maddie’s new Spinda. “No fair!” Wurmple cried loudly. Why did all the cooler looking Pokemon get taken in by trainers? Especially in the midst of winter? “I want a trainer of my own too! You’re all hogging them for yourselves! I’m going to show you why that’s not nice!” Wurmple cried angrily. If Maddie didn’t act fast, Wurmple would try to attack them whether they wanted to fight back or not. Seeing the determined Wurmple’s charge, Maddy couldn’t help but smile warmly. She admired its spirit, even if it was driven by jealousy. There was room for everyone on her team if they were willing to try. With a nod, she stepped forward, making her choice. “Oh, I’ll catch you too, and you’ll be my partner, just like Swirls here!” Maddy said confidently, giving Spinda its new nickname as she motioned to her newly caught companion. “Right, Swirls? Let’s show Wurmple how we welcome new friends.”
Swirls, eager to prove its worth as Maddy’s new teammate, nodded with determination, stepping up to face Wurmple with a glimmer of encouragement in its eyes. Together, they prepared to turn this unexpected challenge into another opportunity for connection and growth. With that, Maddy decide to use her creative strategy like battling Spinda before caught did. "Swirls, Spin the snow like a tornado to attack Wurmple."
Spinda agreed with Maddy's words as he spins his body around fastly like a wind, making the snow blows towards the spinning wind and attack Wurmple.

<I want a trainer too!> The wurmple complained before eeping in alarm as the spinda started to swirl towards it. <Ahhhh! I just want a traaaainnnnerrr. Why are you being so rough?! Maddy become shocked by Wurmple's String Shot on her Spinda because it wants to be its friend. She then smiles at Wurmple. "Swirls, try to hug attack gently." Maddy said to her Spinda. Swirls the Spinda tilted its head, its spiraled eyes showing a mix of curiosity and excitement as it processed Maddy’s words. It stepped forward slowly, moving carefully to avoid startling the Wurmple. With its arms wide open, Swirls leaned in and gently embraced the little Bug-type in what could only be described as an affectionate "hug attack."
The Wurmple, initially wary, blinked a few times, then seemed to relax within Swirls’ gentle embrace, its tiny body wriggling happily. Maddy smiled warmly at the scene, feeling a sense of joy as the two Pokémon shared a friendly moment. “See? That’s the spirit of friendship!” she encouraged, proud of Swirls' gentle approach.

Somehow snow had gotten stuck in the wild Wurmple's nose making them sneeze. Were they going about this encounter all the wrong way? Should they not have attacked the Spinda? Should they have shown their big eyes at the trainer to try and convince them to take them with? With that idea in mind the Wurmple changed tactics. Arching their thick neck, they opened their eyes wide as if to say 'See how cute I am? I would be the bestest of companions'. With their cream and red coat, the Spinda was perhaps a bit cuter than Wurmple, they had to admit. But Wurmple really wanted out of the snow. The cold was not friendly to a bug type like them.
The Wurmple hung on to hope that the trainer would send out a pokeball, as they had seen trainers do before. Instead the trainer told their companion to attack. Wurmple knew then, that their dreams of being out of the cold would not be met. Instead of meeting the bear with an attack of their own they opened their first few legs to welcome the bear. The tackle when it came, hit the Wurmple directly in the chest because they did not try to avoid it. The Wurmple toppled over in the snow, defeated. Maddy, watching the scene unfold, felt a pang of admiration for the little Wurmple’s determination. She stepped forward, a warm smile spreading across her face. With practiced precision, she pulled out an empty Poké Ball, ready to offer Wurmple the chance it had longed for. “You’ve been brave and persistent, little one,” she said, her voice gentle. “Time to come out of the snow!”
She threw the Poké Ball, its red-and-white surface glinting against the backdrop of snow, aiming to give Wurmple a warm and welcoming place by her side.

A Wild level 7 Pidgey has appeared! The chilly wind brought with it the soft brown and cream feathers of a wild Pidgey. Summer's were easier to fly in, as the warm currents made soaring smoother. The wild Pidgey was quite tired after their long travel because of the harder weather on its flight. Their tail feathers were heavy with ice, as it had snowed not too long ago and they had not had the chance to preen the solid water off. Their toes were almost frozen stiff, the claws clacking together as they shivered. The Pidgey was trying their best to find a new nesting spot, but had yet to find anywhere to call home. A wild Spearow had stolen its last nest and the Pidgey had been unable to kick the bird out.
Movement from bellow caught the Wild Pidgeys keen eyes. A human and their companion, a fluffy red and white Spinda, were battling a bright red Wurmple. Even this place is not safe! The Pidgey thought, banking their wing to the right to avoid the commotion bellow. They banked too hard though, and soon found themselves falling. "Piiiiiddddggggeeee!!!!" The bird called out as it fell closer and closer to the snow covered ground. O no! They were going to crash beak first into the earth! At the very last moment the bird was able to pull its wings up, lightening the plummet. Bounce, bounce, bounce, the fluffy bird skipped over the snow like a flat rock over a pond. When it finally came to a stop it was just a few feet from the girl. "Pidgey?"

Maddy quickly sized up the situation, noticing the struggling bird. Concern flickered across her face, but she knew this wasn’t the time to hesitate—Pidgey might act defensively. She grabbed Mimiko’s Poké Ball and threw it confidently. “Mimiko, let’s go!” she called. Her Bulbasaur materialized with a confident growl, sensing the urgency in Maddy’s voice.
“Mimiko,” Maddy instructed, her voice calm but firm, “use your vines to gather up snow. Arm yourself and get ready to throw a snowball at Pidgey—carefully.” Mimiko’s eyes sparkled with determination as its vines shot out, collecting and compacting the snow into a makeshift projectile. With a flick of its vines, Mimiko sent the snowball sailing toward Pidgey—not as a direct attack, but armed with snow and throwing snowball attack on Pidgey is imitating like a Ice Type move and more of a challenge, hoping to test the bird’s reaction and keep it from acting rashly out of fear.

The Wild Pidgey struggled in the fluffy snow, now that its wings and feathers were covered in the white stuff they were unsure if they would be able to take flight again. They fluffed out their brown and cream feathers to try and clean themselves. Shaking like a mad dog the bird finally felt lighter once they straitened themselves. Only for a ball of snow to hit them right in the beak! "PIDGEY!" The little bird squawked. That trainer and their pokemon had thrown more snow at them! As if they weren't struggling enough. Only their head peaked out of the mound of white, the rest of their body was berried. "How rude! Can you not see that I am already a snowman!?" The Pidgey asked the Bulbasaur in front of them. With much struggle, the bird managed to climb their way out of the snow, huffing and puffing as they did. "But if you want to play..." The Pidgey started with a devilish idea. "Then let us play!" The bird surged forward on its tiny claws, headed strait for the green Bulbasaur. At the very last moment, they skidded to a stop, sending up a wave of snow that crashed against the trainers pokemon. And perhaps the trainer would be splashed in snow too. Fare was fare.Wild Encounter Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Wild Pidgey LV 7 HP 42% [10/24]
