Off Ororo went, upon looking for a Tangela she was unsuccessful in her efforts. But she was not going to quit searching! This Pokemon was extremely rare across all of the regions in the Pokemon world, so to be able to find one in this part of the wood would be a tremendous triumph for research. With this Pokemon she could survey its habits, skills, abilities, etc. Stubborn, she was going to stay here until she found what she was looking for.
Although her first inspection left little to be desired, she was ready to keep persevering until she found what she needed. Staryu assisted her as she continued to search, floating around and flashing its red light at any bush that could hold their sacred Tangela. Polipop, although cute and cuddly, would have to sit and wait for now. It was time to buckle down and focus, time was of the essence. Ororo continued her search, hoping for the grand prize to make itself known. ((Activating Staryu’s ability Illuminate to make uncommon and rare Pokemon are available once again! ))

Ororo's determination to find a Tangela was quite admirable as they were not an easy species to find even in the Luminous Vale. Her endless drive to find one would finally bear fruit however as a Tangela walked out from behind a nearby bush oblivious to the fact that Ororo was looking for it. The grass type Pokemon froze as soon as it saw her as humans were not too common a sight around these parts and the handful that did venture out usually were hunting for a Tangela. Filled with fear as it looked into her eyes Tangela had no plan of escape as it never planned to encountering a human. With escape beyond the realm of possibility Tangela was left with no other choice than to fight for it's freedom. It was a risky tactic as if it lost there was a very good chance it would be captured but with no other feasible option it had no choice but to try. It waved it's tentacles around violently as it approached Ororo with every intention of giving this battle everything it had. The grass type Pokemon had to win this battle no matter the cost to keep it's freedom. A wild Tangela (Level 11) would like to battle. Please go to this link to battle it.

Overhead, Ororo admired the tall canopy above her. The thicket was beginning to get dark; the once illuminated tree tops were dimming as the setting sky began to dissipate with every waking second. It was definitely time for the sky to close its eyes and take a rest. Ororo would most likely do the same in a few hours, accepting the fact that she would not get this quest done by the end of the night. Sylvester would just have to wait until morning.
True to her word, Ororo had seized the mighty vines of Tangela. Her determination was quite amiable and the pure grass Pokemon would be a prize that not many trainers would be able to say they claimed in their lifetime. The little Pokemon was certainly exclusive to only certain parts of the world, so this would definitely be a milestone she should put in her journal. Ororo had to admit, even if though she wasn’t scuba diving with Clamperl, this adventure proved to be very informational. At least the hunt for Tangela was done and the prize had been acquired. Now it was time to continue on with life. ((Adding 193 words to incubator. Going to Shady Glen!))

He almost regretted recalling Booker into his ball to rest for a bit: this was certainly a nicer path that the trails he'd just panic-ran through. Sunlight poured through the tree line in glorious beams of white light that trickled through in various intensities to bounce off of the lush greenery below. Though, he noticed, there was less of a visible path to walk going this direction. It struck him as a bit odd comparing it to the other, darker, way around the forest though... perhaps it wasn't so odd. Here was lush with life whereas the opposite direction used like it could use some mulch. Though he doubted many nice plants would like to grow in such horrible light conditions. Here though the bushes stretched their dainty fingers across what little a trail had been beaten down into it and bustled with hidden life. None were the sounds of a farfetch'd. [break] [break]
As pleasing as the area was it didn't quite fit the description he was seeking. Staring up into the treetops he couldn't see much for pinecones, and the trees themselves looked to be as tall as what he'd consider a normal tree; not exactly what he'd consider 'tall' for a tree. He figured the target location hinted by the wood cutter must be deeper, in an older part of the forest. Then he might start finding the tallest trees Ilex had to offer; in this part of the wood anyway. He could only imagine what sort of secrets the inner sections past the dense thicket of overgrowth housed.

By the time he'd managed to return to the grand vale of tall grass and welcome trees it was much less luminous than previous. A true shade of dusk was drawn over the area, hinting that Damien had indeed spent practically all day wandering in the forest. A renewed sense of urgency fueled him as he recalled the terrible stories from his childhood. Stumbling about Ilex in the dark was just asking for some misfortune to befall him. If it wasn't for Booker leading him through this he would probably still be circling somewhere between the pine filled gap and the mahogany knoll. Though, the pupper's nose wasn't exactly the most reliable and direct method of back tracking, Damien was still thankful for the mild zigzaggy pattern versus being lost in the forest. [break] [break]
"We're close now," he assured the hound. Booker grumbled, taking in a whiff of all the flowers and abundance of strong flora masking the trail. Damien approached and knelt, extending a hand to comfort his herdier. "Don't worry Booker, I think I can find my way back from here. I just need to find the little break in the grass that's sort of like a real trail and keep track of which way we came from." The pup, though more than happy to receive the pets, gazed at Damien with uncertainty. "I got this." The big dark eyes blinked a single time before Booker's button nose twitched with a huff. "Okay okay, you can stay out until you're sure." [break] [break] [break]
It took nearly ten full minutes of searching, but Damien found it. The thin trampled path that made the slightest path through the luminous vale. So pleased with himself he started walking a path only to have Booker cut him off soon after. The hound growled lightly, barking once, then pushing back past the trainer the other direction. Damien's cheeks burned a slight red before he hustled after his pokémon; of who was still skeptically sniffing away to ensure they were heading in the right direction.

-coming from shady glen-After dropping off the first Farfetch'd, Penelope continued her way toward another part of the forest. With her hands free of the bird, she took the map back from her Diggersby and studied it right outside of house. When she made the decision for which path to go (that she didn't come from after the first Farfetch'd), she headed toward the planned direction and see where it'll take her. She soon found herself in a new part of forest with even more sunlight touching the ground. This forest part was cleaner with just grass and one type of tree, and nothing like wild plants on the ground that occasionally might stab or scrap by her skin. -gleaming hollow-

-Coming from Shady Glen-Leaves crunched under Sam's boots as she progressed from Shady Glen. There was a stark contrast of sunlight compared to the mouth of the forest she'd entered in. What had once been covered in a nice, cool shade was now illuminated in a bright, beautiful portion of Ilex. She could understand why people came here often if the rest of the forest looked like this. It was absolutely beautiful! Even Anapa's little mouth was open slightly in awe. "Yeah I know, it's pretty beautiful ain't it?" Sam chuckled, catching the Riolu off guard. Almost as if embarrassed, Anapa turned her head away and closed her mouth. "Aww, don't worry. I know you've got this tough, quiet exterior but I bet you're just marshmallow underneath. It's okay, I won't tell anyone." The young girl winked, giving her Riolu another pat. "Any particular reason you chose me? Or was it just some random, violent hatching at the hands of fate?" The question had been directed at the Riolu, obviously, but it seemed as though Anapa didn't hear her. Instead she just lifted her paw and put it on Sam's cheek for a moment before resting it back down on her own lap so she could continue to stare forward. "Uh... okay. Note to self, you're the strong quiet type."Anapa was definitely strange. She was beginning to notice a pattern with her Pokemon. All of them had some kind of quirk or defining characteristic. They weren't just static creatures here to do her bidding. It was actually pretty cool to see them develop their own personalities, especially Blue. She was coming into her personality swimmingly, especially considering she'd been reanimated from a fossil. Things were super different for her, but she was adjusting well. Kind of like Anapa, here. She'd just recently hatched and was already thrown into the fray with Sam. The big daunting forest around her didn't scare the stoic Riolu, so she couldn't let it bother her either. After all, they were in it together. Plus, it didn't help when she had a large team along too, not just Anapa and Blue. She was sure Commander would light the way if needed. "I don't see a lot of red and brown here. And, I don't hear any loud, obnoxious birds. No pinecones either. As beautiful as this place is, I think we should keep going until we reach one of those places." Sam tapped her chin before following Anapa's pointing hand. Onward to... Mahogany Knoll? Check. The path diverged and Sam and Anapa disappeared into the depths of the next part of Ilex. -Exiting to Mahogany Knoll- Moving Forward. UGH word counts and eggs LOL

Entering from Shady Glen"Hello? Farfetch'd?" You out here?" Through the sounds of the forest a voice could be heard as Avila called out for the Farfetched. Half of her thought that it was ind of pointless for calling out for the pokemon since it might not even listen to her either. Her Charmeleon was looking around making sure there was no sign of the pokemon out of Avila's sight either. So far it looked like this was possibly a dead end in this area. The forest was still except for a few occasional cries of pokemon as they came out at night. It was a wonder that no one came around here, there were no signs of humans anywhere, except for when she ran into Sylvester earlier. "Well while we're at it we might as well get acquainted with the pokemon that are here? Maybe even catch a few if we can. I'd like to add a few more to our collection." Avila said as Blazebit nodded in suggestion. Her fire type pokemon Blazebit and probably Archimedes and Pyrrhus would both have the advantage here in battling the bug type pokemon. But she knew that her Swinub Permifrost would have an advantage over the Farfetch'd if they ever came into this area. It was still too dark to see what was ahead of you. You were lucky to even see a couple of inches ahead and that was probably it. Blazebit's tail had made up for it to try and make sure that there was light in the forest, but it was only enough to see for a short distance away. Suppose it was better than a flashlight since you didn't have to worry about the battery running out. "Why don't we stop and look in the tall grass?" She asked as she began to move over to it. It was cold and tickling her to the touch as she felt the grass move around her. Blazebit was also feeling the grass as he went in, but he was also hesitant to make sure that his tail didn't catch the whole forest on fire. So he stayed a bit more wary of it compared to Avila. "What's that? I see something over there! Let's go see what it is." She said pointing out to something rustling in the brush. It could be anything, but Avila surely hoped that it wasn't a ghost trying to play tricks on them.

Blazebit's tail was a helpful, mobile light source for Avila - perfect for searching for some wayward birds amongst the multitude of trees. On the flip side, however, it also acted as a curious sort of lure for some of the hidden wildlife that was otherwise hesitant to approach a trainer and her obvious Fire-type partner. They lurked along the shadier branches above, safely watching from their perches... except for one Pokemon that was subject to all the jostling of the branch it was attached to. It had been dozing contentedly the entire time Avila had arrived in the vale until other Pokemon had crept down to get a better look at her, and rattled angrily at being disturbed. Unfortunately for it, none of the lurkers seemed to care, or notice, its presence and kept on making the branch move wildly, eventually dislodging the Pokemon to fall into the waiting bushes below.
The rustling it made as it landed among the twigs drew Avila's attention, and she would soon witness the amusing sight of a Metapod hopping awkwardly along the ground as it exited the bushes. Thoroughly disgruntled by everyting, the Bug-type rattled furiously at the trainer and Blazebit, managing a spectacular attempt at an angry expression for something that had no mouth to speak of. The rattling noise grew in intensity, until only one thing could be interpreted from it - Metapod was demanding a battle and would not take no for an answer. Someone had to pay for disturbing it so!
You've disturbed a wild Metapod (Level 10)! Please proceed here.

The fight with the metapod had been a no brainer that time, the fire type Quilava had managed to thrash it easily with the power of his flame wheel. And Pyrrhus' confidence soared, this forest seemed like it'd be a peace of cake, at least that part was easier said than done in trying to get out of this place alive. "Alright Pyrrhus return back to your ball, I may need you again." Avila called out as she took out Pyrrhus' ball he returned in a flash of red as the pokemon understood what Avila was up too. Blazebit had seen the entire battle and was impressed, but next time he wanted to go to show just how strong he was.
"Come on, Blazebit, let's look one last time before moving out of here, I don't even know if the Farfetch'd is even out here to begin with." Avila pointed out as she began to search once more. The grass was tickling her sides and knees as she went. There was some worry that he Farfetch'd may have been scared off by her presence and as well as Blazebit's. She knew she'd have to move on eventually. But who was to say that luck was on their side?
"Farfetched! Where are you?!" She called out but it only seemed to be that the calls may have been going unanswered as she walked around the grass. It was only a matter of time before something got startled there and a wild pokemon attacked. Luckily she had a whole team of pokemon that were ready to help her out. The night was still young and she had a feeling that she might be looking for awhile. But how long would awhile be? Hours? Minutes? Days? Avila dreaded to think that her time would come to an end here, no she wouldn't let that worry come to mind. She'd make sure that she'd get out of this and continue her journey to Goldenrod, and maybe catch a couple of rare bug pokemon here.
Ooc: Avila continues to look in Luminous Vale.

Just as Avila resumed calling out for the mischievous Farfetch'd hiding around the forest a familiar voice would reach her. It was the boy from earlier, racing at top speed through the trees as if an ursaring was on his tail. Sylvester skid to a stop once close, grass tearing underneath his shoes as he tried not to fall over in the process. He huffed, rather out of breath, for a second before giving the friendly lady a wave as a greeting. "Hi *huff huff* Sorry I uh *pant* just had an *huff* update on the Farfetch'd," he began, pausing a moment to stand up straight and take a deep breath to settle. Sylvester cleared his throat and passed Avila a smile. "Those troublemakers moved around on me so I-I had to risk it to come give you an update on their locations.""One of the Farfetch'd, the pesky bird, had the gall to run right by me and into the darker section of Ilex. Taunted me with his leek and everything!" Sylvester growled, brow furrowing as he made a fist. "Luckily it's not that gloomy place but the nicer one that looks like it's out of a fairy tale. The other one I heard making a fuss with some sort of cricket sounding pokémon."Sylvester sighed, running a hand through his hair as he leaned back. "I hope they don't give you too much trouble. Hopefully they'll stay put long enough for you to haul them back to the entrance. Thanks again for your help Avila!" The woodcutter boy bowed to her before waving again. "I better get back quick while the path is clear to the Shady Glen. I can't afford to meet up with anything in here..." he commented with an uncomfortable chuckle. "See you soon!"With that he was gone. And in good time too, as a brightly colored robin swept down from above. It chirped loudly and hovered before the trainer, feeling a bit more confident now that she was alone; the wild pokémon unaware that Sylvester wasn't a trainer at all. The taillow fluttered smoothly in her way, the avian obviously made for speed. A Taillow (LV 10) appeared! Will Avila fight it? Go here to battle

Ooc: Coming from Mahogany Knoll
Bic: Back again in the same day. This part of the forest looked familiar to Avila as she walked through with her Charmeleon, Blazebit. But it was the only way to get through the massive maze of a forest. From the looks of things they were headed in the right direction as Blazebit's firey tail lit up the path. Suppose that was handy for situations like this."Say Blazebit do you think we'll spot any neat pokemon along the way?" The trainer asked. She seemed to get the feeling that they were being watched. Well that shouldn't have been too big of a surprise since they were in a grassy area filled with pokemon. One of them may have been watching them right now for all she knew.
The Farfetch'd was tucked safely inside a pokeball temporarily while they searched the area to try and get out. As far as she could see there were trees, trees and more trees. A bit of light flickered in from the moon light but that was about it. It seemed pretty dark and dim. Maybe it was a better idea if Avila traveled in the morning? Though she couldn't help but wonder if it would've been the same here. No change still dark and no light could've gotten through the trees at all. "I think I've got the feeling we're being watched." Avila explained. "And that's not a good thing." She pointed out as the Charmeleon nodded in agreement. Something felt off.

Unlike other parts of the forest this part of Ilex was less oppressive. Still full of vegetation crawling upwards and outwards, but it wasn't called Luminous Vale for nothing. Even through the trickles of silvery light provided by the moon and stars above it was a pleasant stroll. Or would have been if it didn't feel like there were eyes on the trainer's back. It wasn't a ghost sensation either. There certainly were various nightly pokémon watching quietly from all over the tree line and bushes. Some cause they couldn't sleep, others were just busy bodies, and others still were perhaps taking some extra time to prepare for the coming winter. Faint rustles from either wind or pokémon signaled intermittently around Avila as she trekked Ilex, but eventually something got close enough to disturb her travels. A decently sized stick dropped down in front of her, narrowly missing Blazebit as it hit the forest floor with a damp thunk. Up above on a tree branch was the culprit, a pair of hands covering its mouth as it looked down on the trainer with apologetic surprise. Another of its six hands/feet were holding a couple of other sticks. It was hard to see what exactly it was doing up there, but the ledyba certainly didn't seem to have thrown the deadwood intentionally. A wild Ledyba (LV 14) appeared! Will Avila fight it? Go here to battle

-Coming from Mahogany Knoll- "Phew." Sam set down her Farfetch'd for a few seconds, allowing herself to stretch a little bit. Anapa followed suit, practically copying Sam's movements to a 'T.' Whenever she'd stretch left, Anapa would do the same. When she stretched to the right, Anapa did too. Sam couldn't shake the feeling that Anapa was probably getting closer and closer to Sam, which made her pretty happy. As long as the little pup was happy. After all, that egg had been sitting pretty dormant for a long time. It couldn't be mere coincidence that she burst forth into the world RIGHT as Sam was nearby? At least, that's what Sam wanted to think. "Alright, Anapa, you ready? I think I recognize where we are. Sylvester has to be down that path." Her finger pointed down a well-beaten path with a sign marked 'Shady Glen.' Yeah, that sounded right. Anapa gave a little nod as well, confirming her suspicions. Heaving the bird back onto her back, Sam started walking again at a slower pace to let Anapa pick up her bird as well. She had to admit, it looked pretty funny seeing Anapa carrying a bird her size clumsily. Not that she tripped, it just looked hard to carry over her little shoulder. Thankfully both birds were in 'good' condition, albeit fainted. "A necessary step, it seemed." Sam concluded to herself, before stepping onto the Shady Glen path. -Leaving towards Shady Glen - Taking birbs and heading back to Mahogany Knoll. Word count to Nursery!

Coming from Shady Glen and waiting for a wild encounter. Not necessarily looking for Farfetch'd yet If you see me comin' down the street... ... You know it's time to go.
As agreed, Terri set off to find the missing pair of Farfetch'd with Edwina continuing to lead the way. Terri was starting to get a little anxious about making it back in time. She hadn't expected this kid to force another quest on her so suddenly. If anything went wrong with her Rocket mission, she wouldn't hesitate to track down Sylvester and pummel him. To make matters more complicated, Sylvester had mentioned that they had split in two different directions.
"These lil runts better show up fast," Terri growled, her old self beginning to show once again. Edwina gulped. She decided to stay quiet, as not to draw attention to herself. Her relationship with Terri had seen a lot of progress in recent days and she really didn't want to see it revert to old times.
While she was frightened by the thought of Terri having another tantrum, Edwina was confident in her ability to locate the two birds. As a fellow normal/flying-type, she was bound to have a similar mindset. She also had tremendous accuracy unlike her teammates Ollin and Tiago who, for a task like this, were too clumsy and too fidgety respectively. She surveyed the area carefully. While they hadn't quite made it to the Pine Gap yet, she couldn't be sure that the Farfetch'd had made it there yet.
