-coming from shady glen-As Penelope walked away from Sylvester, she and her Pokemon soon found themselves in a different part of the forest. This part of the forest seems to have much denser tree branches and leaves that they seemed to cover the entire sky, leaving barely enough room for sunlight to pass. With the barely enough sun to see, the area was actually quite a bit cooler than the last area, without the sun's radiation. She could feel the drop in temperature and see the drop in brightness. Could this be the place? She thought she saw some black acorns on the ground as well, but she wasn't sure if those were black or she could barely see the color under the heavy shade of trees. She could pick up the acorns to check, but her hands are on a map and trying to not get lost. -waits for mod-

In the depths of the dark, dank Gloomy Ravine, Farfetch'd landed on a tree branch and shivered uncomfortably. This was the perfect hiding place for certain, with its low light and plentiful tree cover, but it was also incredibly unsettling to walk around. Farfetch'd almost felt as if it was being followed the entire time it had been here. Nevertheless, it continued to march through the Ravine determinedly. It wasn't going to be taken back to that nasty Sylvester man. How dare that human make it work? A mighty Farfetch'd such as this one wasn't going to dirty its hands by cutting down trees. In fact, how did anyone expect a duck to cut anything, come to think of it? Trees, in particular, had thick stumps. Perhaps Farfetch'd should just play dumb and pretend that it couldn't use Cut effectively? That might've been a good backup plan, but it was too late to go back now. It had to stay here and hide for the time being. No-one would find it. As Penelope arrived, it would've been almost miraculous for her to find the expert runaway that was Farfetch'd. It was hidden quite superbly between tree leaves for the time being. But Farfetch'd wasn't comfortable with this. Penelope was close by. If this human had been hired by the slavedriver, she wouldn't stop until she found it. Time to get shot of her. It turned and jumped to another branch. Not a great idea. As it did this, an Apricorn fell down into a puddle on the floor. The splash would've been enough to draw attention to Farfetch'd, but it squawked in shock as if to cement its own problems. It had two options. Run and get caught or fight... and probably get caught. "Probably" was a better bet than "definitely", though, so it jumped down into the puddle. It made a point of squashing the Apricorn as it did so, as revenge, before turning to face Penelope.
One of Sylvester's Farfetch'd (Level 20) has appeared! The battle will take place here.

After the Farfetch'd was defeated. Penelope held the fainted bird in her arms, and thanked her Pokemon again for helping out, as well as saving her. Now, she wasn't sure where the next Farfetch'd would be. She handed her map for her Diggersby to hold, and he only opened it when Penelope asked him to, because otherwise he wouldn't be paying attention where he was going and could bump into things. The young trainer studied the map that Potato was now holding, and was staring at the map for a few good minutes before figuring out where to go next. Well, the map was sorta helpful but the forest was quite an uncharted territory. -going to Enchanted Orchard-

Entering from Shady Glen and waiting for a battle...
Just when he thought the day couldn't look anymore miserable, Andrew arrived at a new part of the forest. Maybe his lucky streak had come to an end. "We definitely got the short straw here," Andrew commented, rubbing his arms to stay warm. He gazed around at the dark surroundings, completely puzzled as to why Farfetch'd would go in this direction. "Maybe it came here to die," he joked, although the place did give that sort of vibe.
The more he thought about it, the less comfortable he felt. No wonder Sylvester had decided to stay put. The narrow black trees were almost bare and he found himself stepping around puddles of water, which Sanga didn't seem too fond of either. This scene had been taken straight out of a horror movie.
"I hope we find this stupid bird soon. I feel like we almost have an equal chance of discovering a dead body." He realised he was getting a big dramatic now and stopped his rambling. He really needed to focus now and since the mist made it difficult to distinguish anything, it would wise to listen for sounds instead.

One would be rather kind to call the Glommy Ravine anything better than a creepy place but the ravine was still home to a number of Pokemon who found it to be a nice home nonetheless. One of the Pokemon could hear footsteps in the many puddles throughout the area and slowly hopped towards the source trying to see what was going on. Moving around the area proved difficult but it was determined to keep trying until it could find whoever it was. Even at the slow pace it had to move at the small Pokemon was able to catch up to Andrew and Sanga and to say the least it was surprised to see a human walking around. The Cascoon was a pretty common Pokemon in the area but this one was really high leveled compared to its peers and it was hoping to get a good battle in as it had not had a chance to battle a human in a long time. It was not the Farfetch'd Andrew was looking for but given its level it would at least be a good sparring partner if he chose to battle it. If not there was nothing the bug could do to get him to stay put as it lacked any effective means of entrapment in the murky conditions. If Andrew did run off Cascoon would have wasted a bunch of energy for nothing. Cascoon (Level 15) has appeared! Would you like to run or fight? If you would like to fight please click here.

Sanga forgets Ember for Smokescreen (Self-updated)
With Sanga emerging victorious and Cascoon snatched from his sight, Andrew decided to make the celebrations quick. "You did it, Sanga. Good job! You should take a rest now and get out of this rain." The Charmander nodded, wheezing heavily after the battle. He was clearly exhausted.
Gripping a Poké Ball in his hand, Andrew recalled the lizard. "Thanks so much for your help," he said to the sphere in his hand before placing it away safely in his backpack. "Now to find that Farfetch'd."
Since the mist had lifted due to the rain, the surroundings were much more vivid. Nevertheless, there was something eerie about this part of the forest. Glancing around, in search of the lost Pokémon, Andrew began to pick up the pace and headed towards the Enchanted Orchard.

--Entering from Shady Glen--
Even though the sun was high up on the sky the shadows became deeper and deeper under the canopy and a mist even begun to hang in between the trees. "This forest really have everything," Astrid mumbled to herself and could understand if it was this part Sylester wasn't happy about entering on his own. Yakul was unaffected by the gloom although she looked a bit bored, there was not much to see and there was no tall grasses she could snack on. Janus sighed several times, "I'd wish there was some proper food around here, although nothing beats Astrid's tv." Pia sent the joltik a strange look, he got more and more weird the more she got to know about him but she kept her mouth shut not wanting to getting locked inside her pokeball. Not that this area was interesting, there could at least have been some hiding pokemon that could jump out and scare them or something but the area looked deserted.
The trumbeak eyed the trees, perhaps she could use them to do some flight training as she didn't get much out of the slow speed they were going at and there were no wild pokemon to chase off. With a glance at her teammates she flapped closer to the trees lining the path and wove her way in between them, slaloming around them and turned back if she got too far away. It was fairly easy so Pia sped up and tried to turn as close as possible to the trees, it went well but then a tree was suddenly much closer than the rest and Pia slammed her stomach into it as she tried to dodge. "My goodness! Pia, are you alright?" Astrid called out to her trumbeak who had landed in a flurry of feathers on the ground. Pia jump to her feet and shook her feathers, gave Astrid a nod and then went back into training her flying again. "She really cannot sit still," Astrid said humored and Yakul paused to look at the bird before continuing down the path. Janus thought that Pia needed to train to be better at flying if she couldn't avoid some trees but he stayed silent, as Astrid had asked him to do just that and he still didn't understood why Pia had been so angry last time they had chattet.

A rustle in the trees could be heard if you listened closely but in the gloomy setting of the ravine, it was hard to hear. A Pokemon shadow bounced between the trees seemly following the trainer and her Pokemon. Before watching Pia crash into a tree that honestly it didn't see it's self. "Far! Fetch" it chuckled. Quickly tarting its way down the pathway, Farfetch'd made itself hidden in the bushes by the road. But Yakul who had gone on ahead had seen the leak holding bird. Looking up the Farfetch'd squawked in the fear towards the trainer, he was reading to battle but was Astrid and her team of strong Pokemon?!

The moment the farfetch'd ducked and covered, Pia stopped and stood back. She still watched it closely, not wanting this to be a trick and it deciding to jump at her if she turned her back. It took a few moments but then the farfetch'd peaked up from its covering state and confirmed its surrender meekly, Pia nodded her acceptance proudly and gestured for it to go to Astrid with herself following as a kind of guard.
Astrid didn't notice them approaching before they had stood waiting for some time as she was busy cheking up on Yakul's legs and make sure that the skiddo hadn't gotten injured. Janus watched the two birds curiously, "what are you waiting for?" He then finally asked and the two birds looked at him. "For Astrid to be done and be ready for us to escort this," Pia gestured to the farfetched as she said it, "back to where it belongs." The farfetch'd winced and looked at the ground, it really did want to get back as well, this was no fun at all.
Astrid finally noticed how quiet it had become and looked up worried, only to be face to face with the subdued farfetch'd. "Oh my goodness, are you done already?" Astrid exclaimed and Pia snorted, of course they were already done, she would have been done quicker if it hadn't tried to run away. Astrid looked at Yakul who still looked shaken, "I better walk for a bit," she said gently as she patted the skiddo's neck. "She's never going to get back up that way," Janus pointed out looking at the hill they had came down from, "and we can't fly over," he added and earned a glare from Pia who took it as personally critique directed at her. "Then we have to walk," She snapped and nudged farfetch'd in front of her. "Yes, but which way?" Janus asked thoughtfully. "We are never going to get back up that way," Astrid said as she came to the same conclusion, "we have to find a way around. Pia will you take a look? Janus, stay close," she guided her pokemon and Pia sent a warning stare to the farfetch'd before she took to the sky to make a quick scout. "She thinks you are going to run away, I don't know why thought, don't you want to get back to your trainer?" Janus commented to the farfetch'd who just shrugged. Had it dared it would probably have tried to run away, but it didn't.
Pia came swooping back shortly after and called down to them to gesture them to follow her as she had found a path that lead around the hill and back towards the way they had come.

Arriving from Shady GlennThankfully, it didn't take Venom very long to reach his first destination after departing from the Shady Glenn, coming to a stop as soon as he reached the edge of a stream that ran through this part of the Ilex Forest. The ninja could see right away how this part of the forest got its name, but he didn't think it was gloomy at all. Rather, he found it to be quite beautiful, as well as a great home for Poison type Pokemon. However, Venom kept himself focused on the task at hand, hiding in the shadows and narrowing his snake eyes as he looked all around. "Alright. Where are you?" Venom whispered to himself, knowing that one of the Farfetch'd had to be here, since the Pokemon known as Venonat was native to this part of the forest and it matched Sylvester's description of a red-eyed bug with purple fur perfectly. OOC: Here for the Wild Goose Chase quest.

After helping to ambush Sylvester with the Wurmple the two Farfetch'd had split up to make it even harder for anyone to collect them. Farfetch'd had hoped enough time had passed that no one would be able to find it however Venom was able to track down the one in the Gloomy Ravine. It was not even hiding instead standing out in the open bobbing every Pokemon it encountered in the area on the head with it's leek. Not only did this anger the other Pokemon in the area it also meant none of them would help when the avian Pokemon found itself alone against Venom. Despite the lack of help from the forest dwelling Pokemon however it was more than ready to battle the ninja regardless. It held it's leek high as it stared right into Venom's eyes ready to charge at a moment's notice. The avian Pokemon showed no far at all wanting to stay free from Sylvester by any means necessary even if it meant it had to battle for it's freedom. The only way Venom was going to get Farfetch'd to come along was if he forced it to by defeating it in battle. Farfetch'd (Level 20) won't come without a fight. Battle it here.

Once they saw the first Farfetch'd hit the ground, both Venom and Golbat breathed a sigh of relief, as Golbat flew over to a nearby tree, grabbed onto one of the branches, and hung upside down from it to relax a bit after the battle he just fought. "Phew...What a hassle." The Bat Pokemon commented, mainly referring to the Wild Duck Pokemon's mannerisms rather than the difficulty level of the battle itself. "Yes, but don't relax too much, Golbat. We still have one more Farfetch'd left to find. Fortunately, I'm pretty sure I know where it is. It's a bit of a slog, so come on back and get some rest for now, Golbat. You've earned it, my friend." The Poison type trainer called Golbat back to his Dusk Ball for the time being, then put it back into his bag.
After that, Venom walked over to the defeated Farfetch'd and gently picked it up in his arms. Normally, he would've given the Normal/Flying type some medical attention, but he didn't want to risk it running off again. So, as cruel as it may have seemed, the ninja decided to simply leave the Farfetch'd in its current state until he could pass it along to Sylvester. "I'm sorry, Farfetch'd, but this is for your own good. Not to mention the good of all the wild Pokemon here in the Gloomy Ravine. Now, let's get you back to Sylvester." Since he had the map of Ilex memorized, Venom knew that his path would take him back through the Shady Glen, giving him the chance to hand the first Farfetch'd in his arms over to Sylvester before beginning his search for the second. So, with the map of Ilex in his mind, Venom began his trek towards the next area on said map, wanting to get the two Farfetch'd back where they belonged sooner rather than later.
OOC: Venom leaves for the Enchanted Orchard.

Arriving from Shady Glen...
So far, it has been a pretty eventual day for Aphrodite inside of the Ilex Forest. Alvaro had evolved from a cute Kirlia to a majestic Gallade and her mysterious Pokemon Egg had hatched into a Morelull. If that was not enough, Aphrodite and Alvaro are now on a mission to help a young boy find his missing Pokemon. "We just had to come to a wet and disgusting place like this, didn't we? I'm not even sure that a Pokemon like Farfetch'd would want to come to a place like this," Aphrodite sighed, walking close beside her Gallade in hopes that he would help prevent her from slipping on the wet and slippery ground underneath her feet. "It's so dark and gloomy here, too. It's definitely not a place that I want to stay in for too long. So, let's try to hurry up and find this Pokemon, so that we can get up out of here," she added, her warm golden eyes carefully taking in their surroundings.

A thin layer of frost coated the ground and created a whitened landscape reminiscent of snow across the tall grasses on the forest floor and long, swinging branches of the treetops above. Many of the Pokemon that called the gloomy ravine home had wandered off into their subterranean nests – some underneath the hard earthen ground above and some within hole sketched out of the sides of the trees around them. Soft chirps lit up the ‘night-like’ wonder of the permanently darkened atmosphere where the expansive canopies above blocked out all sunlight from being able to penetrate down to the ground below. A strange stirring shifted through the trees above, stalking after Aphrodite as she searched for the waterfowl (though it was obviously more fowl) that had wandered off through the vast stretches of Ilex forestry. It laughed, a strange quacks that rose up over the canopies above and jumped from one branch to another. The hidden Pokemon would begin picking small nuts and unripened seedlings from the branches of the treetops around it to load its wings up with the arsenal it would use against Aphrodite and her team. When she continued on through the damp, wet environment around her, the waterfowl would pelt her from the branches above with acorns and various other nuts, tossing them individually at her arms, face, torso, and legs. It quacked loudly, laughing all the while, as it found this to be quite humorous at Aphrodite’s expense. The duck teetered a bit too much on its branch and fell down on the ground below, plopping in front of Aphrodite like a present sent from the Gods above. Though, before she could react, it would jump up and flap its wings defensively at its sides with a firm expression and wave the tips of its wing-feathers in Aphrodite’s direction as if to shoo her away. Whatever she came for, it wasn’t interested in. The Farfetch’d would turn and walk off just as easily, as though Aphrodite’s presence meant nothing more than some grand moment of laughter, and as though she were nothing of a ‘challenge’ in the duck’s mind. If Aphrodite wanted to take the bird back to Sylvester, then she would have to do so by force. One of Sylvester's Farfetch'd appeared! Level 20. But Aphrodite will have to battle it to get it to go back. Do so here.

Mishu walked down the long narrow pathways that were carved throughout the forested landscape as she hummed silently to herself about the notes that Sylvester left her with. She still needed to find out why the Pancham were fleeing their presumed normal habitats to ravish the nearby townspeople and their crops. Though two missions should sound like a daunting task for any one person to handle, Mishu felt that if she was already headed on her way through Ilex to uncover the Pancham mystery, then she should be able to keep an eye out for Sylvester’s Farfetch’d as a courtesy.
“Hmm…normal.” Mishu commented underneath her breath as she paused near a large oak tree with knobby bark and checked it over. Small bugs crawled along its rough bark and squished themselves seemingly out of view in between their carved roadways. “I don’t see any footprints…” Mishu paused along the trail and crouched to study the ground underfoot. Small puddles formed in random patches as a reminder of possible rains that might have occurred long ago, though the fog that swirled through the trees and swelled, making it difficult to see much of anything at all. Small two pawed footprints were scattered through the grassy ground alongside tiny oval shaped prints, though long scurrying trails like that of a large bug or snake covered over most of them.
“Will the birds be flying through the treetops?” Mishu stood up and pressed her hand into her back with a loud yawn. She pressed one hand over her eyes and scanned the long branches above her head and frowned. The dense fog made the dark ravine seem almost as dark as the sleeping world in the dead of night, though Mishu was well aware that the sun was hanging high in the skies above solely based on her witnessing so before wandering into Ilex. Was this the place that Sylvester first described or merely a coincidence? She sighed, pressing one hand against her forehead, and shaking her head thoughtfully. “Well, come on out everyone. We’re looking for clues and possibly some large ducks carrying leeks.” Mishu released her team save for the Pancham she’d recently caught and watched them zip in different patterns through the trees.
Ziggy stuck by her side and pressed against Mishu’s leg as he wagged his tail and yipped loudly to get her attention. Akira rushed at every little sound around her, attacking random rocks and fragile twigs at every turn. Wanigara dug his way underground and lurked nearby, tunneling this way and that as he hunted for whatever his trainer was calling a ‘clue’. Reukurotta cowered near Mishu’s other leg with his tail tucked between his legs and growling nervously. “Ziggy, I’m so happy to see you again! Reukurotta…it’s ok, I promise…” Mishu knelt down and petted them both softly with her hands. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea for her plans? Which would mean that the brunt of this work would rely on her expertise alone, though she had hoped they were at least clever enough to find the wily birds for her.
