Twilight Glade

The glade was quiet and even more gloomy than usual, an ominous feeling hung in the air and caught the breath in your throat. No shadow showed itself although it wasn't because it wasn't brave, this spirit was long past such feelings and had no connection to that if it had ever been alive for real. It was nothing but pure need, need of feeding, never filled and with the cleanse tag removed there was less to keep it at check and it sought out any potential meal and had left countless of poor pokemon in its trail.
Their little fear or harsh life was nothing to the suffering of the chikorita and the spirit was drawn to it like flies to honey.

With a wave of cold wind from behind the area froze, creaking in protest of the sudden stillness and tiny ice particles where there had been moving water before. It was like a straight line between frozen and unfrozen which moved rapidly forward and disappeared into the gloom ahead of them, mist would form by every breath and ice would form in any hairs around nose and mouth.
The chikorita only had energy to sigh and twitch a bit but the cold did not help the poor creature at all.
From above a shadow slowly descended with its eyes locked on the suffering grass type. Greed shone from its eyes as this was a feast of unimaginable proportions, a once in a unliving eternity experience and had it been able to drool, hail would have drizzled down on them. It looked as if the ghost took a deep breath and its eyes rolled in the pleasure, the chikorita sighed and laid still, only the faintest movement of its flanks showed it was still alive.

As Eiskalt easily dealt with the evil spirit Kevin wasted no time in deciding where to go next. " Up ahead should be the Majestic Grove. After that we will be able to reach the shrine. Hold on Chikorita we are almost there. Hopefully no more spirits hold us up." He then ran along the path heading to the Majestic Grobve with Samantha, Eiskalt, and Oracle by his side. If any other spirit got in his way he would make sure they would regret that decision.

As Tyler finally made his way to the Twilight Glade he was thrilled to finally be in the right area. Ilex Forest was just as much of a maze as he had remembered it but if he could get the Pokemon he was after the search would be worth it. " That was quite a hike but we are finally here. If what I heard on the radio was true this is where we will need to search. There are a few other Pokemon that might be useful as well if we encounter them but only one of them is vital for us to catch for the time being. The radio said that even with this Pokemon's strange appearance that their numbers were still not huge so we may have to search for a while.

Mania yawned as the thought of a long search bored her but so long as no bug Pokemon came after her she could put up with it. " I just know there are bug types around here. If they come near me you had better be ready for me to lash out at them. If they touch me I will not show them any mercy at all." As Tyler chuckled over the vixens fear of bug types he sent out both Zira and Derpy to help in the search. " Both of you need more training so if we run into any Bug types you keep them off of Mania. If any touch her she has my permission to punish both of you for failing in your duties. With that said let us begin the search." Mania then started to look in a tall patch of grass as Zira looked near a group of trees and Derpy being a Slowpoke stood motionless in the middle of the area with no clue what was happening.

Tyler covered his eyes with his hands in frustration hardly believing he had to deal with such an incompetent Pokemon. If the rumors of Slowpoke's evolution were true however Tyler knew he would have to put up with the clueless creature for a while longer. " Derpy you sure are a dumb creature, I sure hope evolution helps your intelligence or else I might just need to sell your tail to make you worth the effort. Why you have to be so worthless compared to Mania I will never understand but maybe you can be bait for whatever comes out. It is not like you can do much else that is useful."

"And seeing it fly away after having nursed it back to health, I can still shed a tear of joy from that. There was nothing better," Ramsey continued one of his stories.
"I am sorry to interrupt your story but I think we have arrived," Astrid interrupted kindly and continued when she had his attention, "what can you tell me of this pokemon which we are looking for?"
"Right, time to work!" Ramsey said enthusiastically, "I don't know much unfortunately, other than a trainers have seen a pokemon which definitely doesn't fit in here and seems to have tried to get in contact with them. There should also be remains of things left for it, so it could have food and such for some time. I worry they have tied it up and that food left behind will attract wild pokemon who will not shy back from attacking, and then it can't get away."
Astrid nodded gravely, "so we better start search for clues, do you have any other pokemon than your stantler?" She asked as she began to release her own team, Ramsey watched eagerly and nodded, "I have one, but he's not good for that kind of stuff."

"You know what to look for," Astrid said after having finished explaining her pokemon what little she knew, "I think we will do as in the orchards and spread out in some specific directions, there should not be something here trying to ambush us like that."
"Cate!" Rita called out a warning and pointed at something pink sitting in the middle of a clearing, unmoving.
"Slowpoke?" Ramsey said confused, "what is that doing here?" He and Astrid exchanged looks as they both thought the same, Ramsey nudged his stantler forward to check it out.

The Twilight Glade had suddenly sprung to life as two humans were in the area. The local Pokemon rarely saw a single human at any given time but two was quite a reason to celebrate. One of the local Pokemon known for their glowing tail and being a male only species decided to greet the older of the two humans with a lightshow followed by a battle. Volbeat stepped out from behind a tree and lit up it's tail as it inched closer to Astrid and her Pokemon. At first Volbeat only lit up it's tail slowly but as it got closer the pacing grew faster and faster until it's tail was constantly on. By that time the bug type was confident enough to try it's luck in battle.

It turned around to face Astrid with a determined look on it's face before begging the elderly trainer for a battle. It had never had the chance to face off against a human before and hoped that she would give it the chance to prove itself. Despite it's level however it was still quite a bit weaker than Astrid's strongest Pokemon and if she wanted she could try and run past the bug without giving it the time of day. All Volbeat could do was stand by and await the elderly trainer's decision.

Tyler didn't have to wait long before the arrival of other humans sprung the place to life and bugs swarmed out of every hole in the trees. Mania probably wouldn't be thrilled to see it, but at least they didn't went for her specifically.
Instead it looked like the slowpoke sitting unmoving in the middle of it all caught their interest, as well as it did with the ranger, and they swarmed around Derpy as they tried to figure out what she was and if she was alright, now she was unresponsive to their attempts to communicate.

In a big oak tree there was a deep hole and inside it a brown bird started awake and blinked drowsily. What was all this noise? It crawled up in the opening and looked around amazed at the buffet which had suddenly presented itself to it. It wasn't like hoothoot was starving or especially hungry, it had found a good place to live and usually it found more than enough to eat during the night.
A thing like this was just too tempting to ignore though and it spread its tiny wings and dropped from the hole ungraceful and it flapped hard to dart after a spinarak and then a beedrill who was out of there in a blink of an eye.
It dived after another spinarak but missed and dumped down onto the ground, and looked straight into the eyes of dull Derpy. It studied her a moment and then shrugged, well if she presented herself so freely it wasn't going to say no to a free meal. It got up on its feet, shook its feathers and opened its beak, ready to jab it down into the slowpoke.

As the Ultra Ball clicked shut Tyler was glad to have one less Pokemon he needed to capture to complete the Pokedex. Zira also gained quite a few levels from the experience and learned a new move in the process as she started to bite a nearby tree branch. " I see you finally learned Bite. It should come in handly later but for now we need to get back to work." As Zira and Derpy kept an eye out for any bug Pokemon Mania picked up on the presence of other humans in the area. For now they were not bothing anyone but she still wanted to alert Tyler just in case.

" Some people are nearby, they aren't anyone we know but let's not do anything to draw attention to ourselves. Hopefully they go away soon so that we won't have to worry about them." She then started to search again with Tyler as well hoping they would run into another wild Pokemon soon.

The strange glade seemed to be mysteriously suspended in time. Darkness cloaked the dense woods as towering oaks and weeping willows flocked various areas of the forest. As Tyler wandered inside of the vast forest, it would even seem as though he were simply spinning around in circles. A large oak tree had strange markings etched across its thick bark that looked like an ancient symbol. Though, nothing else would seem to stand out no matter how hard Tyler may choose to check. So his travels would carry him further, through a tangle of creeping vines and around a small sinkhole, until another large oak tree popped back up in his path – again with some strange marks like an ancient symbol. As he traveled on, it wouldn’t be long until the all-too-familiar oak tree would pop back up again.

This time, a strange noise would call out from underneath the base of the tree. Should Tyler crouch down, he would notice several small pink worms that were pressed back up in a small hole dug out underneath the tree. No matter what he might have tried to do, as soon as they noticed the human noticing them, one of the larvae would shriek out at the top of its lungs. Within seconds, they would all dart and rush off, scattering out of the hole and through the tall grasses while some scattered deeper in the tunnels underground, until they would have all escaped from Tyler’s grasp. Something else lay silently waiting near the base of the tree inside of the hole.

After the pink worms had cleared out of the area, the small pink cocoon would stick out like a sore thumb, though partially cloaked in the darkness of the night around them. The Cascoon rolled its bright red eye around as it searched until it eventually managed to land on Tyler. It growled in a soft, low tone as it threatened the lad and warned him to leave the area or else. Though, the shelled creature seemed basically immobile and so it begged the question of what it could possibly do to Tyler or his Pokemon. Would he press the matter further, or would he heed its warning?

The ground shook as Yakul galloped over the ground and slammed into the volbeat and sent it down for the count.
"Yakul!" Astrid shouted the best she could, as the skiddo trotted agitated around and looked to be ready to charge at the bug again, even though it already lay motionless on the ground.
Silvia looked on disdainfully, that grass type was completely out of control and a disgrace to the whole team. "She should be removed from the team," she mumbled, "a danger to us all." She glared and wondered if she could try cool her down with some water, or if that would be out of the question now they were supposed to be team mates.
"What a partner, she tried to stomp me!" Silvia grumbled and then her eyes widened as she remembered that she wasn't going to stay here, but hopefully was going to join a much more experienced and renown trainer. She lifted her snout high in the air, she was going to show them all!

Ramsey looked torn as he looked between Yakul and where the slowpoke had been, but then he nudged his stantler forward and began to drive Yakul away from the volbeat, who took the chance to escape, and got the stubborn skiddo back to Astrid, who grabbed her horn. A jolt went through Yakul and she looked confused and devastated as Astrid's angry feelings flowed over to her.
"Don't be too hard on her," Ramsey said kindly and Astrid exhaled and forced herself to relax, Yakul kept her head low even as the old woman petted her side reassuringly.

"How are you Silvia?" Astrid asked and the horsea looked up surprised as she got pulled out of her internal monologue. The horsea nodded and lifted her head proudly, Astrid smiled.
"It is good you have such fast reflexes," she said kindly and then looked apologetically at the little water type, "I would have her to apologize to you but I am afraid she does not really understand," the grey haired woman explained and gestured towards the skiddo, who still stood with her head hanging as if in shame.
"I think it is about time you really get to test your strength thought, what do you say?" Astrid asked and Silvia looked excitedly at her, but then her face fell and she glanced at Yakul.
"Do not worry, I will keep her in check, and recall her if necessary," Astrid said warmly and bend down to pull the exp. share off Silvia, "you do not need this anymore."

Silvia turned eagerly and stared disappointed at the rather empty looking area, the battle had chased a lot of the earlier swarming bugs away.
"What are you waiting for? Call out and ask to see if anyone wants to accept your challenge, I am sure they are hiding right around the corner," Astrid encouraged and Silvia nodded determined and hopped forward a bit, and eyed the trees confidently.
"Hey! Anyone around who dares fight me in a battle?" She shouted and looked around hopefully.

"So, what do we need to do to find that gothita?" Astrid asked and Ramsey sent her a curious look and glanced at Silvia standing in the middle of the area. Astrid gestured for him to answer and he cleared his throat.
"Well, we'd need to look around for clues that others has been here, or things left for the pokemon," he said and then lowered his voice, "but that slowpoke makes me think we might be the only one out here at the moment, that could explain why it disappeared so suddenly."
Astrid looked at him sharply.

Mere seconds after Tyler captured the Cascoon Zira started to glow in a bright white light. The bright flash could not possibly be missed by anyone else in the area as the darkened woods produced only a fraction of the evolutions brightness. As the brightness faded Zira had evolved into a Luxio. " Good you finally evolved. We will need that power soon but you are not finished evolving yet. Once we train you to become a Luxray you will reaxh yourntrue potential." Zira let out a loud roar in celebration causing multiple trees to shake before curling up next to Tyler watching the area for any new threats.

In the midst of Tyler getting a new protector Derpy continued to be as useless as ever standing perfectly still without a thought in her mind at all. Tyler had little hope for the Slowpoke but kept her around as bait to try and draw out a Pokemon. Mania on the other hand was still on guard looking for bugs as Cascoon put her on high alert. She had little doubt more bugs were around and she wanted nothing to do with those pests if she could help it. " One bug is bad enough but I just know there are others around. I cannot believe we are still here with those things."

It was then that Mania heard Silvia making some kind of noise in the distance. It was too far away to make out what but Mania knew for sure they were not alone. Though she could try to use her illusions to stay hidden doing so would take a lot of power and since whoever else was around had not attacked them yet Mania just kept her ears open in case she needed to.leap into action. In the meantime Tyler had started to search for another Pokemom with Zira by his side.

" Zira still needs to hone her senses more before she will be able.to pick up Pokemon at a greater distance so for now Fenrir and Mania that job falls.on the two of you. Derpy is still being useless as usual and Chomper will.only.draw more attention to us. As for Flint I cannot risk him getting any stronger before the next mission. Hopefully headquarters gets their act together soon and sends me.on another mission so I can get a promotion." He then turned to Fenrir who had detected something in a nearby tree. Tyler just hoped this would be the Pokemon he was after.

The bright flash that engulfed the Twilight Glade in light woke up one of it's many residents as they went searching for their friend they noticed had gone missing. As the newly awoken Pokemon slowly made it's way down a tree it could see two groups one of which had a nasty looking Zoroark that it did not feel like taking on and another group with a friendly looking Horsea. The Horsea did look strong but given the choice Cascoon felt far safer getting close to it to search for it's friend first hoping it would not have to try it's luck with the Zoroark if it's friend wasn't with the first group.

As it hopped along slowly reaching the location of the Horsea it spotted it quickly realized there were multiple Pokemon and an elderly trainer. The trainer looked quite friendly but not all of her Pokemon seemed to welcome the young bug as it started to grow scared of the whole situation. It was clear it's friend was not with this group however it had no hope of getting away if Astrid chose to battle it. Cascoon waited in terror not knowing what her plans for it may be but whatever they were they would not likely lead to it finding it's friend anytime soon.

Had it known it's friend had already been captured by the other group it likely would have stayed hidden hoping to avoid the same fate.

The roar of Zira not only made the trees shake, it also sent a lot of both bugs and birds flying in frantic panic to get away from what had entered their otherwise peaceful and undisturbed part of the forest. After the initial scurry the area felt silent around them, they might have chased everything away by that, and they certainly had made their presence known.
Sounds of battling came from the distance which indicated that there were others here in the area, but also that they probably was a bit occupied at the moment. As long as they could hear them, they knew where they got them, wouldn't it be worse if they just met silence? Who knew what they were facing and where they were?

Fenrir had unsurprisingly found something which for some reason hadn't run off but had stayed put. It was the only way of a kakuna, with no legs and needing to reserve energy for the final evolution. It had went here as a weedle and had found a great spot to spin its cocoon, with so many other bugs around the birds kept missing it for other prey which moved and it would have made it just fine until the time of its emerging if just not Tyler and his pokemon had come and had found it.
The kakuna had stayed silent even though it had been shaking with fear when Zira had roared, it knew its best chances was to stay put and wait for them to move on, that was how it usually happened. But then the blue two legged pokemon had turned his head in its direction and had looked straight at it, as if he could look through the branches and leaves, the kakuna felt very vulnerable as if Fenrir could see through to its soul.

Tyler came over as Fenrir informed him of the found, and the kakuna gave up all hope that it could wait it out as they all began to look searchingly at the treetop. It decided unexpected action would give it its best chance and it dropped straight down and bounced up and down right in front of Tyler's face, held up by its string. It stared intently at him, doing its best to show no fear.

Silvia was completely blind to her opponents discomfort, she had called for some challenges and it had stepped forward and not told her that was not why it was here. How should she have known? She had just thought it was a quiet stoic one, who preferred action over talking, her brother had been that way as well and mostly when he spoke it was to complain about her being noisy.
She was quite surprised by the affect of her Bubbles though, she knew she had become stronger, but this much? The cascoon was blasted away and into a tree under which it collapsed. Silvia stared horrified at her own doing and hesitantly hopped closer, worried she had done too much damage.
She breathed a sigh of relief when the cascoon rolled upright and managed to hop away, she watched it worried as she thought she had seen tears in its eyes, but it seemed to be in no mood for chitchat as it hurried off.
"That was really impressive!" Rita said and Silvia jumped as she hadn't heard the black raticate come over to her.
"I didn't plan on hitting it so hard," the horsea mumbled and Rita nodded, "I guess it can be hard to learn your new strength, I can't help but run in mine," the raticate shrugged and scratched her throat to hide her glancing around the area for any dangers.
Silvia blinked and then got engulfed in a white light, a short moment later she had almost doubled her size, two fins instead of one and several intimidating looking fins. She excitedly tried to look at herself, but other than her spiky fins she couldn't see anything.
"Did.. did I evolve?!" She squealed excitedly and Rita confirmed grinningly, Silvia began hopping around exhilarated, flapping her fins and screaming her joy out.

"Well done Silvia! You have come far!" Astrid laughed and the seadra looked at her proudly.
"Yeah, its good and all but can you tone it down a bit? You are going to chase everything away from here," Ramsey said grimly and stomped away. Silvia looked deflated after him but then raised her snout proudly, she was not going to let him tear her down but she could be more mature about it. Astrid looked after him annoyed.
"He really puts his work before anything else," she whispered dryly to her pokemon, "I do not know why he fears another trainer out here so much, but he could have handled that better."
Her pokemon nodded, and Astrid went over to Ramsey to figure out what to do now.

"Alright Pia, you will scout the area and see what you can find, do not engage please, just get us," AStrid asked her toucannon who spread her wings and with a mighty flap got airborne and disappeared among the trees. Ramsey followed her flight eagerly, "now we'll find it in no time!" He said and they went out to search the nearby area for any signs of a pokemon out of place, or stuff left behind by a trainer abandoning it.

Within the trees of the Twilight Glade trouble was brewing as Volbeat rushed into one of the trees telling the tale of a Skiddo who had beat it up for no good reason at all and that was apparently owned by an elderly trainer. The very thought of which was unacceptable to the colony of Volbeat and after being told of the last known location of the rampaging Skiddo one of the many Volbeat volunteered to go and teach the troublesome grass type a lesson. The bug Pokemon flew out of the tree at high speed trying to locate the mean Pokemon or any of it's potential friends. It did not have to look for long as he quickly ran into Astrid and immediately took on an aggressive stance.

It flashed it's tail in anger at the elderly trainer as it challenged her to a battle wanting to get some payback for all the trouble her Skiddo had caused. The bug was quite determined to teach the old lady a lesson but there was a clearing that Astrid could take advantage of to avoid the bug if she wanted to. All Volbeat could do was hope Astrid would give it that chance to get revenge instead of running off denying it the chance to avenge his friend.

As Tyler captured the Kakuna he wasted no time in searching for the Pokemon he was truly after. Though these other Pokemon he had captured were not his target he was still glad to be checking off more boxes in his Pokedex while he searched for the main one as every check mark brought him closer to completing it regardless of if they were the ones he really wanted. " Well I had not planned on running into a Kakuna there but at least now it is in my Pokedex. One of these days I will get around to raising it and the Silcoon I captured in the Bug Catching Contest way back as weak as they are. I think I will call this Kakuna Stinger as it will fit once she evolves."

After coming up with his nickname for Kakuna he then turned to his team who were valiantly searching for their target except for Derpy who was still stuck in space cadet mode not moving at all. Tyler could not believe such a dumb Pokemon could evolve into one of two decent Pokemon or how such a dumb Pokemon could have such a valuable tail but the evolution potential was the only reason he kept her around at this point. As far as searching went he knew he would have better luck sending a hungry Snorlax to look but with how hard the others were searching her dead weight was not hurting their efforts for now.

Mania was still in a panic over all of the bug types as she kept her extended claws out to make sure none of them came anywhere near her while Fenrir actually hoped one would try to mess with him so he could use them as target practice for his Aura Sphere." All these bugs and yet they are smart enough to stay away from me. I would love to try my Aura Sphere on one and see how much damage I can do." Mania scoffed at the idea as she just wanted to get away from bug types all together. " Of course you would, bug types cannot do much to you but they are very dangerous for dark types like me. I hate those pests with every fiber of my being."

Before Tyler or anyone on his team could do anything else they heard a noise coming from a nearby tree and got ready for whatever it may be.
