The ball smacked into the munchlax, wiggled ominously, then fell still. Silas blinked. He...fully expected this to be far more tedious and complicated with many rounds of fighting to keep its HP down and using spore to put it to sleep. But the nest ball laid still on the ground. Silas eyed it, a little disbelieving at first, before approaching slowly to scoop it up. He passed it between his palms for a moment, contemplative. This ball was hardly impressive. Maybe once he left Ilex he would take advantage of that 'ball exchange' service that Kurt's granddaughter was offering. He had a couple of luxury balls in his bag. Surely that would up this little creature's value on the market!
Violet eyes gleamed with greed.
He would make so much money off of this!
(Assuming he sold it...he could keep it. Snorlax was powerful and— no. He couldn't. He had to remind himself of how much these things ate.)
Though, while in the stasis of a pokeball, the munchlax didn't need constant calories. He could think on how to best approach capitalizing on this little gem later. For now, he pocketed the ball and double-checked the radar.
It still said that Stufful were reported in Eerie, which meant it was back to the grindstone. Silas nudged Parasect, "You are very lucky that worked out in my favor. You are a menace. A tree-climbing menace." He sighed heavily and looked around, making sure that the 'boy' wasn't watching him. One never knew if innocent children had sticky fingers. This was HIS to keep or sell to the highest bidder. He wasn't going to let some snot-nosed punk steal from him.
Once he was certain the boy wasn't going to ask any questions, he set Parasect FIRMLY on the ground in front of him, "Now, be a good parasect and check for the stufful on the GROUND. Ace has the sky covered." He paused. "However, I must commend you for finding the honey tree...and taking action to assist me in capturing the pokemon that was lured by the smell. However, your rebellious little quirks are only so endearing. Be mindful before I lose my patience..." And with that, he tried his best to ignore the wind and the little bits of sand that were caught on the air. Oh no. Hopefully the storm wouldn't invade deeply into Ilex this time around. He had thought it had passed, but apparently not. It had come back around for another round.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
Dust swirled through the tangled network of densely packed trees, cutting their way past thick limbs with their endless sea of emerald and chartreuse leaves that decorated their branches. It caused Zaiden to grimace. He flinched, shielding his face from a blanket of sharp pebbles that sputtered against the sandy winds, and turned to his back to immediately dig out a face mask meant for such brutal storms, along with a long-sleeved shirt to protect his arms. After slipping them on over his current outfit and face, Zaiden turned to his companion, who made short work of a wild bat and a small cocoon, seemingly traveling a bit deeper into the eerie and strange, wooded landscape than Zaiden cared to venture.
“I believe in ghost Pokémon.” The statement was a simple one without emotion. He couldn’t feel passionate about a realm that was unable to be proven. Belief could carry you so far, but it could not prove your reality to be the set-in-stone model for others, when it lacked scientific data to back up its claims. He held no ill-will for those that insisted on such beliefs, however. “Many ghosts Pokémon are known to play tricks. The rest seem just to be…rumors.” He hummed with a soft, almost dull sound. Reflective eyes blinked, thoughts whirling in the back of his mind as a small bear cub crawled out of a nearby tree, landing on the ground before Silas, who proceeded to yeet it inside of a Poke Ball.
Something definitely seemed… Off. Silas had moments where he was harsh in tone to his Pokemon, causing a quick raise of an eyebrow, though nothing to warrant a quick call of the authorities for improper treatment. Why did Zaiden get this feeling and why couldn’t he shake it? It was irrational, as though his guts screamed about something his mind couldn’t readily see, and seemed as implausible as believing in actual spirits when they could undeniably be proven to be true for all who claimed to witness them, when skeptics arrived on the scene to poke holes into their theories. “What is that?!” Zaiden eyes brimmed excitedly when a small pink bear, totally unlike Sokonashi who was a Munchlax in similar stature and breed to Silas’ previous catch, appeared.
Zaiden plucked a small handheld device from his side and flipped it open with the press of a button, quickly scanning the strange bear Silas found. Was his honey attracting them? He believed it to be more myth than fact that all bears would perceivably love honey, since most required a rather complex diet of nutrients – especially minerals – for their unique needs. Yet here they were, one after the other in quick succession, scampering out of the woodworks as though they were just frolicking all over the place. “…Stufful?” An odd name for such a tiny cub, whose appearance was an uncanny resemblance to a stuffed toy.
Which came first then? The toy, or the bear? The Poke Dex flagged the small cub immediately. A small red dialogue box with large exclamation marks and a sign that read, “WARNING!” Flashed loudly on the screen, until Zaiden eventually clicked it away in frustration. Apparently, though they looked friendly enough in their own demeanors, trainers were warned to proceed with caution around these creatures. They packed the punch of a pro wrestler and just touching the beast was enough to get it riled up, noting that unless the Pokemon had a particularly close bond with you, they hated being touched in the slightest bit. “Uh mister…please be careful…” Zaiden choked, turning back to witness his Pokemon evolve before his eyes with a wide smile. Tako was so much more impressive now, with his large wings that seemed to stretch on forever from his sides. Simply amazing!
OOC: Tako evolves. Self-updating and looking for new encounter. ^_^

The bear went into the ball with one easy bap and click. Silas smirked as he knelt to pick up that ball, giving it a small toss before pocketing it. He smiled at Zaiden, "Looks like I am done here! I have done some wonderful training and caught some interesting pokemon out here. Have fun. Try not to get eaten by any ghosts. Toodaloo and all that jazz." He returned his parasect and made sure that Ace was looking keen and ready. "Heading out before this storm gets any worse! I have already stood out in one wave of this storm and honestly, I am not feeling like doing so again." So with a jaunt and flippant wave and a smirk, he walked his happy self right in the opposite direction. Time to retreat out of this accursed woods and hopefully NEVER return. He wanted OUT.
Time to go toss this stufful at an admin and tap out.
Honestly, this fluffball looked pretty darn useless.
"I wonder why the boy tried to warn me about it being dangerous? It's just a harmless fluff ball. It hardly did anything when it appeared and then the battle was over after one ball. Silas was the picture of unconcerned. Though, if it was dangerous and the admin gave it to their bratty kid...then that would be even funnier! Would serve them right for making him go pull this dang forest apart for the thing, especially in this weather, when he was a ROCKET. They STOLE things. And yet two missions in a row, some tool had him go off and catch wild pokemon like he was some kid on a journey. Bleh.
However, with that all settled, he was in the perfect position to re-access his next steps forwards.
The future was now.

It's swarming zubat season apparently. Fear the bats, for they have come in great numbers! Silas had earlier remarked about how they must have been standing beneath a zubat infested tree, and perhaps he was right. Because even after he left Zaiden to himself out here in the woods, Zaiden found himself assailed by a certain flying creature that chittered and screeched. From the branches it swooped and swooped, coming closer to Zaiden with a cry. Maybe it would take a nip or chomp out of this warm, loud thing that it was flying towards! Screeeeeee! Here come the chompers, Zaiden! FEAR THE BAT. A [LV 14] Zubat has decided to pester Zaiden since the scary man left Continue this encounter here.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
The youth’s mouth stretched into an ugly frown. His gaze shifted to the canopies overhead and silently followed the winged mammal back through their entangled branches and multitude of leaves varying in shape and dimensions and sighed. Zaiden wasn’t sure what he could do to help ease the tensions the wild Pokemon around the area expressed, though he felt compelled to try and do his part to help the lush ecosystem that thrived around him. Perhaps, it was just the presence alone. The gentle whispering winds almost begged with young Zaiden, their invisible hands interlocking transparent fingers within the teenager’s own fingers, and quietly tugged him away.
Mandoru worked swiftly, wagging his fingers before releasing his attack to send the wild bat fluttering back through the trees. It was appreciated, but was it truly warranted? They were in Zubat’s home. Was it not the same consideration if the bat appeared inside of a brick-and-mortar house and started knocking things off shelves and tables, smashing precious porcelains and ceramics to bits? “Good job, Mandoru.” Zaiden nodded, a quick turn to their Pokémon with a soft smile that stretched across their lips. “Let’s try to disturb them less though…ok?” Zaiden asked with an almost inaudible exhalation of air that escaped his lips.
They couldn’t leave only to traverse in circles. That was a fool-hearty expectation of any to make and would only further decrease the energy reserves they all felt. Zaiden wasn’t foolish enough to travel emptyhanded. He was just smart enough to understand the importance of conservation of resources. Until they had a clear and defined route through the heart of the forest, it remained an obviously better choice not to expend more than necessary. So now, they needed to determine how they wished to finish the rest of their trek through the area. On foot was the only method given, beyond summoning one of their Pokemon large and strong enough to tote them. That wasn’t the question, really.
A bright light pulled Zaiden away from his thoughts as Mandoru began to shift and change into a large primate with long, pointed ears. His beady eyes searched around the area with a quiet tilt of his head, trying to process the weight of what transpired. “I’ve evolved?” Mandoru scarcely asked aloud, more to himself than to Zaiden or any of the various inhabitants of the area. “I feel….more confident now. Like there’s a wealth of understanding that easier for me to grasp.” Already quite the intelligent sort of species, the change into something profoundly more educated was a welcomed change.
“Oh, wow.” Zaiden smiled, taking in the form of his new Pokémon. He clapped with a gentle nod of his head approvingly. “You look amazing.” The anxieties that swelled inside of Zaiden’s chest simmered on low, not nearly feeling like they would boil over in the moment. Mandoru smiled and pulled Zaiden into a tight hug, nearly squeezing the air out of his lungs from the effort. Zaiden laughed and carefully pried himself away while using his hands to create a barrier between them. Ouch! “I get it, Mandoru. I promise. You earned this new form all on your own, though.” Zaiden promised his new companion with a certain twinkle in his eye. What might greet them next, though, as the young teen mulled over their options and tried to determine the safest way out of the forest?
OOC: Mandoru evolves, doesn't learn Psych Up. Switching out Mandoru and Tako for Biba and Raion. Taking Lucky egg off Mandoru and placing on Raion. Taking EXP Share off Goshikka and placing on Gena. Self-updating. ^^ Looking for new encounter please (can skip tree roll, it's fine).

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
Bībā landed the final blow and managed to chase away his opponent. The small beaver’s beady eyes stared at Hoothoot as the fluffy brown owl soared through the canopies. Just a blur on the screen that quickly faded into obscurity once more. He turned, his head tilted slightly in confusion, and thumped his stock hind legs against the grassy terrain underfoot.
Small feet carried the stocky beaver over to a collection of wooden pieces. He bit and chewed at the logs. Some were easy to carve out the niche statues of strange creatures caught in awkward poses. One was of a small yellow duck carrying a strange looking onion on the tip of its snout, whilst narrowly avoiding tripping over a rock. Another had a small Pichu hugging a larger Raichu with large, pleading eyes.
Zaiden nodded his head as he picked up his feet and headed deeper into the forested area. They’d worn their welcome at that tree, but Eerie Wood was a large section of the immeasurable Ilex Forest. Surely, there would be more trees and locations that the young teenager could stalk with his team. Arriving at a massive oak with many broken branches and knotty textures along its thick bark, Zaiden would settle down with a soft sigh.
“Go ahead and play, everyone.” Zaiden nodded, releasing his companions would rushed through the tall grasses off in play with each other. Moyashi chased after Gena, who kept slinging thick, sticky strings of web at the strange looking, carnivorous plant. Raion raced around the trees in a headlong chased with Kiji, who barked and growled with a strange, singsong fashion. Goshikka hopped over nearby Bībā and studied the large beaver’s creations with mild interest.
OOC: Biba learns Heabutt forgetting Growl instead. <3 Self-Updating.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
The winds of change slowly shifted, carrying the sandy breeze off with it. Dark eyes scanned through shrouds of emerald and cinnamon hues of the surrounding flora. He scrunched up his nose, watching his Pokemon converse with Stufful. The small bear puffed up, its stiped cheeks rotund from the effort of holding in air within their inner pouches and making it look cartoonish in nature. “You suppose?!” The little tyrant screamed, rushing Goshikka from the side.
His humanoid psychic-weilding mammalian Pokemon easily stepped out of the way. Small yet thick, dark brown limbs thumped against the ground. Stufful kept charging past its adversary until it crashed into a nearby tree headfirst. It pulled back as Goshikka laughed coarsely; small black arms wrapped squarely around her midsection. “Oh, you really got me there!” She ridiculed, holding a singular arm out whilst pointing towards her opponent. Stufful backed up, flared nostrils, and lowered its head once more.
“You won’t get the best of me! You big meanie!” It charged forward, smashing long emerald blades of grass down against the ground in its wake. Smaller creatures such as miniscule insects hopped and fluttered quickly out of the way, mundane in both their appearance and lack of capabilities that Pokemon had. “You just hold still and take this whopping that’s coming to you!” It screamed at the top of its lungs. Zaiden admitted that in this moment, he saw the warnings his Pokedex screamed to him about previously.
The trees it kept crashing into had large cracks, with smaller ones collapsing altogether. As it charged after Goshikka once more, her miniature child-like Pokemon easily hopped out of the way again, a wide grin plastered across her face. “You’re more likely going to get gobbled up by one of the ghosts lurking in the forest.” Those strange eyes widened with delight as tales spun inside of her head. Each were more gruesome than the last, easily painting a picture to scare children all the way into their adulthood years if they were retold so easily.
“You’re just trying to scare me! It won’t work! Momma already said that there’s nothing to fear when she is near!” The bear puffed up, casting a sharp glance in Goshikka’s direction. As she leered at her opponent, Goshikka blasted her with a powerful spout of energy that lifted Stufful up into the air, spun her around, and slammed her against the ground. The small cub jumped up, shivering, its eyes darting in all directions. “What was that?!” It screamed at the top of its lungs, slowly backing up through the tangle over overgrowth.
Goshikka shrugged with a harsh laugh. “Maybe nothing…” Shfe hummed, trying to remain indifferent to the moment. Her eyes turned instead to a lone flower amongst a sea of green grass. It was small and delicate, its pure white petals barely noticeable against the other colors that surrounded it. “…or maybe, it’s the ghosts I warned you about.” She giggled with delight. Stufful turned immediately on the tips of its paws in haste to run away.
“I don’t believe you for a second!” It screamed, though it tore through the forest as fast as it could. It… didn’t get far, though. Zaiden was swift, immediately tossing one of his Poke Balls after it. The ball struck the small bear against its rear end and zapped it instead. It fell on the ground and tumbled about within the wild weeds as Stufful struggled to break free, until a loud ding promised Zaiden successful capture. “That was…” He hummed thoughtfully, walking over to collect his new Pokemon. “… easier than expected.” He admitted, turning to trot through the rest of Ilex Forest.
OOC: Goshikka will not learn Charm! Moving to Putrid Swamp! Also Marchbaby Gena is in my team (and noted in all other Zaiden threads as not in those) so giving Gena +1 level for EXP Share. ^^ He'll be level 9! Previously Level 8 here

She put her fingers together and smiled. He smiled back. "Would you mind staying out a while? These ghosts are good at catching me by surprise. It'd be handy to have another pair of eyes on the lookout while we try to get out of here."
Jade's gaze dropped to the bundle in her trainer's arms, unable to see much beyond the hat and a leaf poking out from beyond it. She took a couple steps forward and lifted onto her tippy toes giving an air-pat motion up at the boy. Without a word the ranger knelt down, barely wincing at the soreness that tickled the joint in the process. Jade gently crawled her way up his arm, pausing but a second to look at their current charge, and perched herself firmly upon his backpack.
"You're on lookout," Damien noted as he stood, eyeing his companion from the corner of his eye as she made the final adjustments on his shoulder.
Now it was simply a matter of continuing away from the lake. Damien's gear was unfortunately now underneath the chikorita. He muttered an apology as he shifted her around to his other hand so he could utilize his satellite map. The bead that was his current position still pulsed with a low signal, but at least it was a signal. With some awkward motion attempting to move the leaf pokemon as little as possible he zoomed the screen out enough he could spot the edge of the lake and orient himself. His fingers were getting cold.
"This way." He spoke with a confidence he didn't quite feel, but he hoped to get back there.
