Once more Freya dismounted, as Arcanine took offense to running through this swamp. His sensitive nose could not bear it. Once on foot, Freya guided Lola across the unstable ground, both of them doing their best to hold their breath and not pass out from the stench.
It was not the best part of the journey, but as long as they kept pressing forward, they'd be able to escape. Just a little further. A little longer. Then they would have sweet, sweet fresh air again. — Word Count; 000 | OOC:Leaving the eerie woods and heading towards the twilight glade! With the cleanse tag in tow, it is time to head for the final showdown. (Adding an NPC to my journey for flavor)

The swamp was a wasteland that deserved to be purged from the mortal coil.
Hate.
He felt nothing but disgust and hate.
It seared and seethed and boiled inside of him as he power walked through this horrific place AGAIN. The smell would never go away, that was the thought that plagued him each time he was forced to traverse this ghastly place. He just wanted OUT. Freedom. Release. Silas flinched when he stepped in an especially mucky puddle, the water seeping into his shoes and making his very spine want to revolt out of his body. He gagged. Then floundered a bit, trying to kick the gunk from the bottom as he kept walking faster.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
Strange shadows stretched out between the trees in long formations like sleeping giants, cloaking the surrounding forest in an ever-present sense of night verse day. A short gust of wind carried the last remaining bits of sand and debris hurdled through the air off in other directions, letting nature disperse them naturally to settle between stalks of grass and weeds as part of the natural dirt and gravel their long roots broke through and curled around.
He walked, quiet as a church mouse, through the open terrain. A strange chill crawled down the nape of Zaiden’s neck and stretched like a slumbering cat across his spine, tickling the heels of his feet with its invisible claws. Zaiden half-ran, half-walked, in an odd gait that wasn’t quite a jog through the densely packed terrain. Smaller bits of foliage stirred up in his wake, bringing the young lad to a full halt along his own trajectory as he plucked their entangled vines and drooping limbs out of the way and pressed on, before once more picking up his pace.
Something lurked beyond the shadows, hidden and just out of reach. Zaiden gulped, the strange sensation of being watched never quite leaving his side. In his haste to switch his mind over to something entirely different, he pulled out his phone and flipped over to his apps that lay prominent on the front screen after tapping his passcode into the device to unlock it. He clicked on his chatter and surfed through the latest bits of gossip running their circular patterns throughout his feed.
One of his cousins posted an entire article about the downfall of the once great legendary birds of the skies. A scathing piece that carried itself a bit too high strung and linked mankind’s own presence to their struggles to remain an ever-present force in the world. It noted their class as ‘critically endangered’ and urged against the idea of parks or zoos for their species, citing sources where such places allowed previously endangered species to go fully extinct under their watch.
Another was planning a wedding and wanted all of their friends and family to attend. Many of the comments remained positive, highlighting how well the two seemed to get along with a few of their friends calling their relationships “#goals”, among other things. One disgruntled person fumed, carrying on how she was led to believe that Zaiden’s cousin was single this entire time and threatening the ‘happy union’ with evidence of his infidelity.
Zaiden eventually closed his phone with a shake of his head, his boots trudging through muck and mire as he pressed through the swampy territory. The ground squished underfoot even where you might have assumed it to remain solid, giving way to how much of the area was bogged down land where the line between water and ground were blurred. He grimaced, pinching his nose tightly, and pressed onward, his Pokemon following diligently behind as they clamored for drier grounds.
Moyashi was one with the terrain, however. Her long vines carried her easily through the muck and mire. She seemed in her element, her bulbous golden head snatching flies out of the air with ease as they pressed on. Even mosquitoes remained no match for the speedy beast. Eventually, the troupe found drier lands, to which Zaiden broke out into a quick jog and crawled onto its banks with ease, a wide smile covering his face. He just needed to get to the next town! Then he could seek shelter within a nearby hotel and wash himself up, before switching his outfit entirely to something much cleaner and nicer for the occasion.
