Sandy wasn't sure how long she had been running, but her legs were burning. That had been one long trail. She looked down at the small Pokemon she was holding, making sure to check for the tell-tale rise and fall of the creature beneath the blankets. It was still laboring in its breathing, but it was alive, for now. Sandy shook her head of the possibility that it would-
"N-no. I'm not going to think about that." Looking down, she sat to rest her legs for a moment. She knew that this was too urgent to be resting, but she just didn't feel she could run anymore right now. She didn't want to exhaust herself when she knew she had such a big trip ahead of her. She was relying solely on her feelings to lead her through the place, trying to figure out what valley she was supposed to be heading towards.
"Maybe being here for just a little, a change of scenery might help you a bit..." she murmured gently to the bundle in her arms. She wouldn't stay here long, but at the moment, running on low sleep, staying here for a little while seemed all too enticing.
--Stopping to rest here--

The forest was long and sprawling and it would tax even the most arduous of travellers. Unfortunately, the time to rest was not a luxury one could afford at this current moment in time. Instructed by the spirit of the forest to flee as far as she could to dispel the evil gripping the shrine, it seemed that her advice also applied to the journeying in between both destinations. As the trainer sped down from her progression of the forest, a strange aura seemed to stir within Cypress Rest. Unbeknownst to passer bys who had moved through the area, this region of the forest had been one of the major sections that had suffered from the wrath of the lumberjacks. Their unrelenting deforestation had left the area barren and devoid of life but in the time since then, it had began to revitalise itself, although, it was nowhere near as overgrown as some other areas. Not taking form just yet, the odd being seemed to focus in on Sandy and more specifically that of the cursed Pokemon she was safeguarding. As if siphoning energy from the perils and suffering the Pokemon was enduring, the Pokemon felt its strength return to it. So much so, the Pokemon began to take form into that of a gaseous wisp. It still had memories of its life long since past but they were hazy for the most part. All that it could remember was that it had been given an injustice most grievous to its being and it followed the only instinct that had been influencing its mind since its death; that of revenge. Whizzing forward, the evil spirit began letting out an unsettling screech as it went to attack at Sandy. If it could lash out at Sandy and claim her soul to join the rest of the dead occupying Ilex then their numbers would grow until they could once again purge this forest of its life. " Joooooin... Us..." It howled, giving away its direction that it was striking from. Encounter

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w491/kitkatkerris/lilac.png] Sandy was able to breath a sigh of relief as the Gastly fainted with Spirit's attack, but she couldn't rest yet, and being up all night, it was starting to bother her. She walked over to Spirit and, balancing the Chikorita in one of her arms, she used the other to gently pat down a lick in Spirit's fur. He jumped, and remained tense even after he realized it was just her.
"Spirit." She began tiredly. Her muddied clothes told him that she had a hard time of it even before he had been sent out, and Sandy waited until his ears pricked forwards, showing her he was now listening to everything she was saying.
"Spirit, I know that you don't really like me that much, but I need to ask you to take me and this Chikorita the rest of the way we need to go on your back." Spirit's eyes narrowed and he gave a quick snort, retracting from her a bit by sidestepping away.
<<You're a crazy girl, if you think that'd I'd let you ride anywhere farther than an inch on my back.>> He growled. Though, the look in Sandy's eyes was not the one he normally saw, the one meek and submissive stare that always told him he'd win the argument. In her eyes instead, he saw a look of exhaustion, mixed with determination and a hint of desperation.
Spirit, he wasn't ever one to take pity on anyone, but looking down at the Chikorita, that was currently struggling for its life, he couldn't help the pang of guilt that ran through him. If he didn't cooperate, what happened to it would be something unknown.
"Spirit...please." Spirit finally stamped a hoof against the ground and kneeled a bit. Sandy didn't dare murmur a greatful word, because she knew that it would somehow worsen Spirit's mood, but she climbed up onto his back and placed the poisoned Pokemon between the lipped rim of the saddle and allowed her legs to secure the space around the creature so it didn't fall off. Carefully hitting Spirit's side without doing it too hard, she felt the lurch as he began to move, carrying them off into the creepier part of the forest.

Coming from the Ethereal Lake.As Marchbaby left the lake he followed a rather narrow path through the woods as he continued on his quest. He just had to find a way to save that poor Chikorita who was suffering thanks to the work of evil spirits. He had no idea where in the forest he would have to go in order to find the cleansing seal required to break the curse placed on the shrine and save the Chikorita but he was going to find it one way or another. The young man was a dragon apprentice and the dragon clan do not give up no matter how bad things look. As Chikorita was his favorite Pokemon it made this mission even more dire as the life of one was hanging in the balance. He was going to stop at nothing to save the poor thing even if he had to personally banish a spirit to the deepest pits of hell he would do so to keep his word to the spirit of the lake. As the young man followed the path he came to an area with a really deep fog that seemed almost unholy in nature. He remembered that the spirit of the lake had warned him about the fog as it was evil so he knew that it was likely not a good sign to run into the fog. He was filled with rage as he could have sworn he was being watched by something and whatever it was would not likely be friendly considering the heavy feeling of dread and despair the fog provided as Kamikaze seemed to be rather uneasy about her surroundings. She seemed to sense that something was not right. The look on her face suggested that she could sense that one of the evil spirits that he was warned about was in the area. Trying to draw whatever it may be out of hiding Marchbaby began to speak. " Alright you cowardly spirits I am here to put you in your place for what you are doing to that poor Chikorita and the forest itself. I do not plan on showing any of you mercy for what you have done and I will not allow you to harm that Chikorita any further. Now show yourself to me you coward or I will have Kamikaze here tear you limb from limb once I do find you. He said as he hoped one of the evil spirits would hear him. Staying the face the evil spirit in this area.

And after Marchbaby's challenge, the forest spirit began changing the surrounding, adding more haunt to the creepy fog. A smell of something sickening seemed to fill in the air, as the sickened Chukorita seemed to be writhing and struggling in its pain. Even Kamikaze covered her mouth to avoid breathing too much of this sickly air. "Gasss...." the wild Pokemon whispered as it enlarged itself by releasing a lot of the nauseating gas. The purple clouds of gas would make a person feel sickly, but it was just that. Kamikaze don't seemed to be fainting, but it certain seemed to be struggling to breathe. Then, satisfied with the situation, the ghost type deflated its projection and returned to a regular-sized Gastly. Its big eyes and fanged mouth looked onto the young trainer with menace.

As Kamikaze sliced the Gastly clean in half Marchbaby was proud of her. She had been training quite hard as of late and that display of force showed just how dangerous a Weavile could be and he was very pleased to have her on his side. As the evil fog surrounding them lifted the area felt a lot less heavy. It was almost as if a curse had been lifted from the land and the forest had gained a bit of it's beauty back. Marchbaby could not help but feel that the Gastly was only a mere pawn in what had to be a larger scheme but at least he had helped to purify this part of the forest. He knew he was far from finished however as he still felt like he was being watched. For the time being he did not want to hang around this area as it could not be entirely cleansed of evil until whatever the mastermind behind the curse was vanquished. Not wanting to waste any time he started to walk down a path that had been revealed in the fog that he hoped would lead him in the right direct of the ritual paper he needed to find. Moving on to the Eerie Wood.

-coming from cypress rest-With the Chikorita in his hands, soon Alex found himself far enough from the lake that the body of water wasn't in his line of sight. Though he could definitely feel the creepy presence around. Where should he go next? Where is the valley place? It was all a forest here. Trees, logs, leaves, and earth. Not sure where to go, he stood in the middle to relax his mind. The forewarned fog from the lake girl had certainly reached this area too, or was this a natural phenomenon because it was night time? He was no meteorologist or geologist, but he thought fogs were common at night in a forest, or was it? He turned his body around, trying to look for clues in the dark. Since dusk ended right after he battled the Luvdisc and the strange event with the lake girl, this means the time was still around evening. He still have time to fix this superstitious curse, if he can find the valley. -waiting to slay Gastly-

Alex was looking for the valley, but had found Cypress Rest. Was it the same thing? The dark fog had reached this particular part of the forest, and the sense of despair seemed to cling to the air. Instructed by the spirit of the forest and lake to seek out this evil, it was hard to exactly pinpoint where it was. The tiny Chikorita in Alex's hands began to stir silently, weakly batting a foot here and there as if locked inside a tormented dream. It's little whimpers were soft, but loud enough for the surrounding Pokemon to hear... and the fog. It seemed to take the life of everything around it. Flowers were in half wilt, and the trees looked sickly and brittle. So much that Alex might have not been aware of hung in the balance. With the Forest Guardian gone, this fog, and whatever caused it, was creating havoc and despair wherever it went. As soon as Chikorita stirred, the fog began to manipulate. Instead of lazily drifting along the forest floor, it began to materialize into what appeared to be a Pokemon. The Ghost hovered above the ground for a moment before cackling and disappearing into the darkness. "Yess... I can sense your suffering... Join us..." The malicious voice whispered, and Chikorita went rigid. "Join... us...." It hissed, appearing once more in front of Alex. Despite the horrifying situation, this was a Pokemon, and could technically be defeated. Perhaps following the fog led to the shrine? How many of these Pokemon would be blocking the way? There were many questions, but one thing was for certain, that Gastly needed to go for Chikorita, and the forests, sake. A Wild Gastly (Level 16) has attacked! Proceed to your battle here.

With the Gastly's body sliced into two, the thick dreaded fog apparently still remained on the field. Holding the Chikorita closely, Alex continued brisk walking as fast as he could to find the valley. With the Ariados by his side, he was sure to be safe if another ghost showed up, because he would have another pair of eyes to sense danger. Moving his eyes between the terrain as he moved so that he won't bump into branches, he was trying to be fast and careful, but this Ilex Forest was quite larger than he thought. He also occasionally looked at the Chukorita, wondering how much long can the sick Pokemon hold still. Would the defeat of Gastly make the Chikorita feeling better? He thought for a second.

-coming from Sombre Valley-With the Chikorita still sick on his hand, he continue his travel so that maybe he could find a solution. However, he was both tired and sleepy to remember the map of the forest clearly on his head, besides the fact that some parts are a little compartmentalized. Not sure where to go, he found himself in an area that was somewhat familiar, except this place wasn't as memorable as the stinky one. Maybe he did forget to fight a ghost, but where would it be? -going to Eerie Wood-

Coming from Ethereal Lake
Ic:
Tyler and Mania made their way from the lake towards the first stop on their journey. Though he took no pride in trying to save anything he did take pride in torturing spirits regardless of if they were evil or not. Mania was more than up for the task as it was in her blood to hunt down ghosts. " So we are pretty much just going to go looking for some magical seal, murder some ghosts, and rescue some rare Pokemon from a curse? That is a hell of a change from our usual daily activities but I am game for it. My claws are thirsty for the hunt." Mania said as she started sniffing around trying to find any spirits nearby.
" Yes that is the plan at least, the way I see it though you will gain valuable experience and on top of that we will secure a rare Pokemon as much as I hate playing the good guy for once. Maybe beating up a few of these spirits will make me feel better about being the good guy." He said as Mania suddenly stopped dead in her tracks as a purple fog started to surround them. The Chikorita in his arms began to squirm as the fog made it impossible to see where they were going.
" So the spirits are going to give us a little show before a battle, how kind of them to do that for use. We shall respond in turn by shredding them to tiny pieces. Oh it shall be quite a show we shall put on for them in return." After a few moments of waiting Tyler was ready to get the show on the road and called out the evil spirit who still did not have the bravery to show its face to him. If it did not show its face he would use brute force to make it appear.
" Alright you undead *****, it is time to face me head on instead of hiding like a coward behind this fog. Mania here can pull off some tricks of her own too. Mania be ready to use your illusion powers to make this battle far more suitable once it shows itself." He said as he waited for the spirit to pop out. He would not hesitate to unleash his wrath upon the spirit as soon as it had the nerve to manifest itself to him. Mania's claws were already extended ready for a fight.
Ooc: Waiting for Gastly encounter.

As Tyler and Mania progressed through the desolate lands that were Cypress Rest, they would start to feel rather uneasy. There was a chill in the air all of a sudden, and it wasn't because of a change in the weather conditions. This cold, combined with the fog and the strange aura around the place, made the immediate environment seem much more foreboding than it might otherwise have been. The spirits were restless, and their unsettled presence was the cause of this change in temperature. The aura grew more and more intense while Tyler and Mania carried on searching, as if it were closing in on the two of them. Spirits from every angle watched the pair, circling around them invisibly and closing the distance slowly but surely. Tyler would begin to get the feeling that something was watching him eventually, as the spirits started to approach. Then, all of a sudden, the aura dissipated. The temperature returned to normal as the perfectly transparent spirits quickly vanished. In their place a new aura, much stronger than the last, appeared. It approached quickly, sensing a human and its servant nearby. Perhaps the two were lost, it thought to itself. It was time to strike and make this human feel what it was like to suffer for all eternity. The spirit loomed ever closer, which would grab Mania's attention quite quickly due to its nature as a Pokémon. As it got to within striking range, the spirit suddenly made its presence known. It was a Gastly, cackling evilly as it appeared in front of Tyler and his partner. It floated left and right, trying to spook the pair. It then noticed the Chikorita and smirked. So this was the injured one, not the human. Gastly dived in quickly to try and get an attack on Chikorita. Tyler would have to act quickly!
The wandering spirit, a Gastly (Level 16), has appeared! Please go here to fight it.

Having defeated the Gastly with almost no effort at all the heavy feeling in the air seemed to lessen. There was still a lingering feeling of dread but it was not overpowering like before. The purple fog had also began to disappear revealing the path forward as Tyler sighed. Given the theatrics the battle sure was disappointing to him but the deed had been done. " They sure do not make evil spirits like the used to, that was a pitiful display. I am starting to think that our ghostly friend was just a weakling as that Gastly was no trouble at all. At least you got some experience from that battle Mania as otherwise it would have been a waste of time."
Mania was far from pleased as well as she had not expected Gastly to fall apart so easily. " I guess I am just too much for a weakling like that to handle, still it would have been nice for it to put up a bit of a fight. We are still not finished however as there are plenty of other parts of the forest we still have not visited. I am sure more of them will try and get the jump on us before the end of our quest." As she finished speaking Tyler had to find out where they were supposed to go next when he saw a rather rough looking sign up ahead. It was really hard to read as it looked as if someone had used it for sharpening claws or another sharp object. After a few moments however he was able to read it.
" Eerie Wood straight ahead. I am willing to bet that we are supposed to go there next. Seriously would it kill them to just give us a GPS with a map to find our way through here. It would make this far less irritating." Mania chuckled a bit as she could rely on her nose to find most things she was after but she still agreed that the nature of the Ilex Forest made it a pain to get around. " My nose can lead me most places so usually I would have no need for things like that but this place is a nightmare trying to find out where to go next. They really need to work on something to make it easier to find your way through this crazy forest."
As she finished speaking they began walking straight ahead as the sign said hoping to come across the eerie wood soon.
Ooc: Heading to the Eerie Wood
