Standing amongst the starting Pokémon in the line-up was something of a heart-pounding experience for Jinsei Sugimori. His choice here mattered and made him sick to think he was in the position of a slave-owner selecting his newest goods. However, Akira's prior words helped him focus on a different aspect: "See this moment for what it really is; you're meeting your newest friend." With a couple deep breaths, Jinsei stepped forward and picked up the PokéBall in the middle. He pressed the mechanism in the center of the ball which caused it to snap open and light to jet out into the air, creating the green, mottled creature in the air. The momentum of its summoning allowed the female Bulbasaur to somersault backwards and land adeptly on the counter top where its Pokéball had once resided.

The blond boy stood there with his mouth hanging open while the creature croaked its name at him, "Bulbasaur..."

"Hi there," answered Jin tentatively.

He was completely enraptured by the creature - immediately enamored. He reached out slowly towards the Pokémon and gently rubbed its head. The hard scales didn't scratch his hand or feel slimy. Jinsei found the skin of his Bulbasaur to be deceptively smooth. She was beautiful in his eyes.

"I'll choose you... Seedara!"

Seedara's humble nature allowed her to accept the tentative disposition that belonged to Jin. Her display of patience allowed Jin time to open up to her and get to know Dara for who she was, rather than just a creature to be tamed.
