The Pidgey didn't enjoy many things...many things...and this was one of them. That kind of Pokeball had been thrown at it so many times, and it had never once been captured. That would never change! Though, as it went to go avoid it, its talon hit a snag of grass, making it much harder for it to get away. Squawking,it felt the Pokeball clang against its feathers. The cursed contraption busted open, sending forth a red light that sucked the bird into its confines. The protesting fowls caws could be heard until it was finally trapped inside. The ball fell to the floor, leaving the long wait until it finally clicked. Cayzle watched the ball closely, waiting to see what would happen. It shook and shook, and the feathered creature waited with anticipation. Had she done a good enough job to capture it. Finally, as if being a beacon of relief, the ball clicked a final warning, telling both trainer and Pokemon that the bird in question had indeed been captured, and the attack wouldn't be needed to finish it off. ____________________________________________________ Cayzle is the Victor~!

Rhoan made a glance at the Pokemon that was now in the Pokeball, and smirked. Perfect. Another shop rotter. She picked up the ball and put it in her pocket without second though, looking over at Cayzle who was getting stronger. Was it just her, or did he seem a bit bigger? Might just be the no depth perception thing. Pidgey Name: [Choose] Gender: [Choose] Level: 10 Moves: Tackle. Just go 'head and box it Rhoan patted Cayzle on the head, a rare sign of affection that probably threw off her whole team. Oh well. Rhoan and Cayzle continued searching about, hopefully about to find something strong enough to help train the team, instead of just wipe the floor with. Although, there had been a few close calls. That's what Rhoan wanted to avoid. The only way to avoid them? Getting stronger.

Rhoan wasn't the only one training. Several other trainers had been out and about, before the unnatural storm had blown through and decided to unleash nature's wrath upon the route. Most trainers had abandoned their efforts, except for one.
Picnicker Liz sat underneath the shelter of a large tree, staring out at the hail bouncing off the ground. She frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. This weather had put a real kink in her plans. She had been doing some intensive training with her Nidoran, but had run out of Potions right as the storm hit. If she had any items, she would still be out there, fighting against the wild Pokemon and braving the storm.
Her Nidoran sat beside her, nose twitching as it watched the hail fall as well. She rather enjoyed battling, but this weather had Liz convinced that she couldn't fight. It annoyed the blue mousey Pokemon immensely. She had energy to burn, and nothing to do to get rid of it. But as she sat there, her nose picked up the scent of a trainer passing by. Yelping in her high-pitched voice, she darted out from under the tree, landing square in Rhoan's path. She focused her gaze on Cayzle and barked out a challenge, daring the Torchic to attack.
Liz darted out after her Nidoran, arms over her head in an attempt to shelter her from the hail. "Nida! That's not very nice!" she scolded, shooting a disappointed look at the Nidoran. She then turned her gaze to the trainer. "Well, you seem pretty tough. Do you mind training with me for a bit? Nida and I would really appreciate it. We could finally put our skills to the test!" But while the Picnicker asked politely, Nida clearly had no intention of letting Rhoan leave without a battle.
Picnicker Liz requests a battle! She sends out her Nida (level 12)! Choose a Pokemon to battle! (Weather will be hail)

Rhoan was along with Cayzle when the freak weather started to happen. She looked up right as a piece of hail hurtled toward her good eye. A swift ember attack melted the ice though, and Rhoan glanced over at Cayzle and gave him a dip of her head. The Pokemon she was obtaining were proving to be useful after all. However, a not-so-useful Pokemon skitted towards her, catching her attention as another piece of hail popped against her head. At least she wasn't looking up. A girl followed the little rat Pokemon, and Cayzle gave a chirp of confusion.
The girl wanted a battle, in this weather? A normal trainer would have said no, but what the hell? As long as we're quick about it. Go ahead, Cayzle. She said, and the chick stepped forward, dodging a piece of hail, only to be clipped by another. Even though it's hailing, let's bring in some heat and see how that works. Ember. She commanded, and Cayzle prepared the fire within to spew it towards the rat. Granted, it wouldn't be as strong as Tyrana's fire, but it would do until he evolved. That had to be soon, right?

The young trainer seemed to barely even notice the ice as she was dodging the ice so majestically much like a ballerina on a stage performing a beautiful dance. One could tell this Picnicker had no issue being outside in the elements and on top of that seemed to enjoy the crazy weather. Her Nidoran (F) was not exactly in the same boat as its trainer, but the creature had convinced itself that the weather would only make her stronger in the long run, and she trusted her trainer at any rate. The little rodent now looking at the chick was a bit amused. The Nidoran (F) was excited to be taking on a small cute looking Pokemon as it figured that battle would be easy, not to mention it seemed to hate the ice. The hail may work yet to the Nidoran’s advantage. Picnicker Liz heard Rhoan call out its attack. This little chick was fire type excellent she would have an advantage. Alright Nida use your Double Kick. Nida seemed to know exactly what to do as it moved in for the attack. Unfortunately for the little rat Torchic was faster as it built up its Embers and sprayed them toward the Nidoran (F). Because of the hail it was drowned out slightly by the weather, but some of the Embers made it through and hit Nida never the less. The ice continued to pound both Pokemon. It was time for Nidoran to make her first attack now as she had managed to luckily avoid some of the Ember damage. Moving in close to the Torchic with very quick speed she jumped into the air on her hind legs and used all of her might to Double Kick the chick Pokemon. The first kick sent the creature up into the air and as it came back down Nida was able to land a second kick making if fly right into Rhoan. The little rat landed back on her feet as the hail continued to pound both Pokemon.

Rhoan watached, standing still as a statue while the hail pounded her. She just ignored it as she focused in on the battling. Hopefully there wouldn't be a tight situation they couldn't get out of. Cayzle needed this training, and she wasn't about to run away from the opportunity. Cayzle was beginning to share his master's viewpoint, snapping his beak shut in pure determination. The embers flew from his mouth, but didn't do too much damage. Rhoan noted to use a different attack, watching Cayzle fly in the air and towards her.
Hands extended, she caught Cayzle, and then dropped him back to the ground, the young chick landing on his feet and ruffling his feathers for a bit. No rest. Let's go. Rhoan said, pushing him forward a bit with her boot. He nodded and grew his mischievous glint in his eye as he watched the Nidoran. This time let's not let the hail bring us down. Night Slash. Lets hope for a one shot. I want to get shelter soon. Quicker we finish, the quicker we're warm. Rhoan murmured, and the Torchic nodded, fueled by evolution, food, shelter... victory.

The attack connected as Cazyle raced forward with its legs, then with sharp claws reached the opponent and slashed right at the Nidoran. It seemed to have given off a spooky essence as the darkness had settled in for a bit. As the move finished the essence faded as it returned to normal. Cazyle's attack had been successful as it had taken much more damage with additional uses. There was the hail as it began to pelt down sounding like repetative thuds, the cold air hadn't helped at all as both pokemon unfortunately had to come to be victims of it.
"Woah now that was an impressive move. But Nidoran and I are not going to give up that easily. Nidoran use another Double Kick!" Liz called out as seeing how strong Roan's Catzyle was on the battle field. So with hearing her trainer, the Nidoran came forward and sent one of her back legs at Catzyle, and then another to make an attack and knock the Torchic back. The hail continued to pelt down, as Nidoran made her turn, it struck her as well. The hail seemed like it wasn't going to stop any time soon at this rate as the battle continued.

Rhoan narrowed her eyes and looked down at Cayzle with narrowed eyes before she cast her gaze over to the Nidoran. The chick was doing his best she figured, but it wasn't good enough. Cayzle. If you're going to be on this team, you gotta dig deep and figure out what you're gonna do 'bout this. Cuz this ain't working. Toughen up and Hit harder. That's the motto. She sighed as the chick nodded, and looked over to the Nidoran, scratching it's claws on the ground like a bull with it's hooves.
Try that Night Slash again. Maybe you'll hit harder. She said, and the Torchic flapped it's tiny wings and let out somewhat of a battle cry before charging towards the Nidoran once more, feet covered in the black darkness from before. I'll heal you after this go around. She said. There might be a treat for you if you beat it in one go. She said, which added even more incentive.

Motivated by the promise of food, rest, and growing stronger, Cayzle darted forward, eager to attack. Liz grinned as she saw her opponent's eagerness. "Your Torchic sure seems ready to go," she laughed. Turning to her own Pokemon, she ordered, "Let's calm this kiddo down. Go with a Growl this time, Nida!"
The Nidoran turned her head to shoot her trainer a quizzical look. What good was a Growl going to do now? But orders were orders. Sighing, she turned back to the battlefield, only to have to dodge as Cayzle came charging at her. Claws glowing a light purple, the Torchic leapt into the air, slashing his claws at the blue rodent. Had it met its mark exactly, the attack might have fainted the poor creature. But luckily for the Nidoran, she had dodged just in time, managing to only be grazed by the attack. She still took considerable damage, though, and yowled as the Torchic's razor sharp claws left gashes across her chest. Landing rather hard on her feet, she winced as pain laced through her body at the jolt. The Nidoran put on a brave face, though, and prepared for her attack. Throwing back her head, she let loose a ferocious growl that shook the heavens. Well, in her mind it had. In reality, she had only let out a tiny squeak that made Cayzle wonder what was up with his opponent. Nonetheless, the attack did its job, and the Torchic's attack dropped ever so slightly. Unfortunately, the Nidoran could tell that she was fighting a loosing battle. This Torchic would surely defeat her in a turn or two, regardless of what she did. She sat silently, waiting for the next turn as the hail pelted the battlefield, inflicting more damage to both Pokemon.

Rhoan rummaged about through her bag and found something to heal Cayzle, since she had promised him. No treat though, since he hadn't beaten it in one go. However, she hoped that this would help. The potion now in hand, she gave a snap. Beginning to be trained to this sound, Cayzle turned and padded over, waiting to be showered with the healing properties of the potion. This outta keep ya in the game some more, hmm? She murmured, and the Torchic nodded, smiling with it's beak.
Rhoan threw the potion bottle down onto the ground, with no intent to pick it up. Cayzle wandered back onto the field, getting pelted with a piece of hail. I really don't want to be here long. Please... let's try and get this over with Cayzle. Night Slash again. She commanded, looking up at the sky only to get hit with hail on her forehead. At least Cayzle was healed, and could fight a bit longer. She wouldn't make him fight again if there was another Pokemon though. Besides, other members of her team needed the training.

Torchic was feeling so much better now as the Potion took effect. Its contents absorbed deep into the fire types body healing all its previous damage including bruises and cuts that the little chick had sustained in its previous rounds. Cayzle was once more bouncing back and forth on its feet happy to get another chance at this Pokemon and its Trainer. Torchic had not been in the red, but the difference in Health was very noticeable to the Pokemon as its Stamina seemed fully restored as well.
Liz watched the opportunity unfold in front of her. The trainer had used a Potion on its Torchic. This was a perfect opportunity to do some major damage with only mild retaliation as this round she would get double hit instead of only a single. Looking over at Nidoran Liz smiled. Ok Lets give that Torchic a double kick attack! Remind it we are in charge of this battle. Nidoran was quick and did not need to think about it as it moved in for the first attack. Nidoran ran full on at the Torchic now. Unfortunately for the Torchic it was almost in a state of Paralysis as the medicine was taking effect making it vulnerable to attack. All it could do was brace for the attack as Nidoran jumped up at the last second and hit Cayzle with its back legs right in the chest knocking it onto its back. As they both fell to the earth Nidoran had her second kick land right on the chick’s head smashing it hard into the ground. Both Pokemon took hail damage as it continued to shroud the battlefield in cold ice.
Rhoan’s Pokemon Cayzle finally had a chance to attack for itself. The Potion was done now and even though it had taken some damage the Potion had done its job healing and restoring the Torchic not just physically but mentally as well as Cayzle knew that Rhoan really did care about him. More importantly the Torchic was ready to make an attack of its own as it moved in with extreme speed slashing the Nidoran hard with its claws as it jumped up in the air and made deep gouges in the Nidoran! The poor creature yelled out in pain as the Torchic released and jumped back slightly. Without waiting for Liz to give her a command Nidoran once more used a Double Kick hitting the Torchic hard in the face. It fell back and hit the ground once more. Nidoran got a second it in as landed right on the fire chick’s chest and hit it hard with its back legs.
Both Pokemon managed to get back to their Trainers but something very odd happened next. The hail that had continued to fall continued even now. As Nidoran prepared for her next attack a large chunk of hail fell right on her head. For a split second her determined eyes narrowed in at Torchic, but then they rolled back into her head and she collapsed on the ground in front of Rhoan and Cayzle. Liz ran out to her Pokemon noticing feeling completely guilty that she had even decided to have a battle in such weather now, but she realized quickly that her Pokemon would be ok. Standing up she looked over at Rhoan at the same time returning Nidoran to its Pokeball. Well that was a great battle. Thank you That little Torchic is quite a handful. I wish you both the best. But I think I should get back to a Poke Center and take care of my Nidoran. Here take this you deserve it. She handed Rhoan a small sum of money and pulled her rain coat tight around her before she waved and hurried off back toward the city. Weather Statement: HAILING!!!! Watch you rHead.Liz’s Nidoran (F) Health: 7% (0/38)Status: Normal Attack : Double Kick x2!!! Watch out Torchic! ((Levels have been modified, only gained 3 levels.))
Good job, Cayzle. Rhoan praised, walking away from the fight with her Torchic in tow, and money in her pocket. Money was a good thing. Besides, she enjoyed everything money had to offer. Money was nice, but not as nice as victory. I think we're almost ready for that gym battle. Just a bit more training and I think we'll be good. She concluded, returning her Torchic and walking about once more. Perhaps a wild Pokemon would pop out that could be useful. If not, there was always the training aspect of it.
((Sorry it's so short, NO muse but needed to post. It's an encounter post, so it shouldn't be too difficult? Dx )) [Alex: Money from Trainer Battle has been updated.]

The weather had not gotten any better as the battle ended. It only helped every participant in the battle better realize how vital it was go get under some form of cover. It was no longer just hail coming down but freezing wind as well as it hit Rhoan hard across the face. It took quite a strong spirit to be out in the kind of weather that was now before the young boy as he trudged slowly along continually being pelted by hard pieces of ice. Even though they were only a little bit bigger then the size of a pea in the extreme quantities that they had achieved it was becoming less and less pleasant to be outside. Spotting a grove of tree’s only a few feet ahead it was clear they were holding off a lot of the ice as the dirt floor was almost completely ice free. As Rhoan got closer and closer to the small island of security it became clear that this spot was home to another group of creatures as eyes seemed to be popping out from everywhere staring right back at her as she made her way ever nearer. Finally she was to close and from amongst the clan one lone Ledyba flew out to battle as none of them really wanted a trainer around. Wild Ledyba Level 10 Wishes to Battle! Stay and Battle? ((Just a heads up: Pay attention to what you're writing. I don't take offense to it, but others might.))
Rhoan let out a sigh at the newcomer Pokemon. Even though this place was a safehaven against the pelting ice that mercilessly rained down on her, there were Pokemon here. Ledyba. Nothing of importance, although Rhoan did figure a battle would be a good thing for her Pokemon. Fine. It's a bug, so we'll use fire. C'mon back out Cayzle. The Pokeball split open, reveal the chick once more, revitalized and full of health. Let's go ahead and fight this thing to claim this spot. At least we're not battling in the hail...
Which was true, since the cover was there. Rhoan was safe, although if the battle outskirted the hail would pelt again. Let's see if we can finish this early. Ember. She commanded, and the Torchic nodded, building up the fire within his body to send it out towards the Pokemon. Maybe a one hit ko? That'd be nice, but out of reach more than likely. Rhoan would spam ember until this was finished so they could rest and let the storm subside. [/blockquote]

Ledyba was ready even though it knew this trainer would pair against it with a Pokemon that it was obviously weak to it was not going to back down. Its family was counting on it to defend their home, and not even a trainer would get in its way. This particular Ledyba had a particularly strong spirit as it fluttered just above the dirt waiting for the chick Pokemon to reveal itself. Obviously this girl had chosen a fire type. Why did all these trainers have to choose fire type. Truth was this just annoyed the Ledyba more than it already was. True it had beaten a few fire type Pokemon in the past…but it was like having to watch the same rerun over and over again this Ledyba wished trainers would be more creative.
Rhoan did not give Ledyba a chance to really think about matters much further as Cayzle was ordered almost instantly to come out firing. It was all the little bug could do to only get grazed by a few embers dodging every which way trying to avoid the painful burns that the little embers gave off unfortunatly with little avail. HA! If that is the best you got I will surely win this match! The Ledyba was pretty sure Rhoan had no idea what it was saying but Cayzle did and that was where it was aiming for anyway. Speaking of aiming Ledyba prepared for its own attack moving in fast and quickly. Its fist started to glow like the sun as she hit the young Torchic square in the jaw sending it tumbling backwards a few feet. Fortunately for the poor chick Pokemon it did not go beyond the canopy protecting them from the hail. Ironically as impressive looking as the Comet Punch had been it had little effect on Cayzle.
Weather: Lucky You! Hail is In effect…but for the moment you are under cover.
Wild Ledyba Level 10 Health: 45% (14/31)Status: Normal Attack: Comet Punch! Cayzle Level 14 Health: 92% (37/40)Status: Attack: Ember Super Effective!!
