I think the Pig and Otter are really adorable; no love for that grass thing from me > w <;; I also like the female protagonist; she looks tough compared to the other female protagonists.

Now in color the grass snake and firepig do not look bad. But the river otter water starter looks even worse. Pulls out Stielhandgranate. *kaboom*.

I hate all three of the starters. That freckly otter-snowman thing is hideous, that pig thing looks terrible too and the snake looks stupid to a smaller extent. I was a little unsure how Id take it when I saw the silhouettes. I didnt really like any of them, but my sister called the otter and I called the pig. Then when they were revealed, I was so desperate to change my mind. I think Ill go for the grass starter, if I get the game. I really hope the other Pokémon look better. Ill possibly be ditching my starter if none of the last stages look any good. I want to get the games though because I love the idea of older protagonists, better 3D attempts and black NPCs. Ill make my decision based on what the rest of the game looks like.

So the main Pokemon B&W updated with some higher quality pics than the ones scanned from CoroCoro and I must admit I am quite pleased with some of the directions. The battle screens don't look all that bad as it seems they've made the info boxes containing HP and EXP transparent to an extent meaning more space to view the moves. The behind sprites are also good. For too long have we only got like a shot of the head and that's it. The 3D effects also look a lot better than what I have had seen thus far and it all seems to blend fairly well so here's to hoping that it'll work flawlessly. Zoroark's ability sounds interesting. It sounds like he enters the battle disguised as another Pokemon but remains Dark in type. Sounds like it could make for some good trickery. ;D I was worried his ability would render Ditto useless.

I've seen some of the new screenshots and the overworld seem to be much more... well, full if you know what I mean. The everyday things seem to be there, like outdoor street markets and alley ways with garbage dumpsters! And the view of that one bridge... why am I reminded of the Brooklyn Bridge when I see it? It is looking more and more like the American region that we've been waiting for!

Yeah, that's definitely true about the new screenshots. It does seem so much more lived in and littered with every day items. I tihnk i'll have fun poking around them all interacting with A. If it's anything like Hotel Dusk, i'll be there tapping all day long. While i'm tempted to say it does look a lot more Americanised than previous regions, i'm still dubious about calling it the first sort of American region. It'll all become clear when we see the map for the region. So far Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh all correspond to actual areas in the Japanese geography.

It'd be a kick if the region is kind of looks like the East coast of the US. Like, they flip it on its side and say "NEW REGION". That'd rock.

What i'd REALLY love to see implemented into the series is the ability to travel to ALL the previous regions. So Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh. If they did that AS WELL as adding a whole new region I think it would be pretty much my favourite instalment in the series. Don't see why not, the groundwork for Kanto/Johto/Sinnoh is there. All they need to do is adjust the camera angle and spruce it up a little to put it on par with the Isshu region.

I agree entirely it would be a huge game but then we would have alot more to do plus it would be more like the manga and anime instead of just 1-2 regions.

You know what I've been waiting for? for them to get online! with all regions and pokemon availible, AND you would get to design your own trainer, choose if you could join up with team rocket, or any of the other teams, and what type of trainer you would like to be: coordinator, trainer, breeder, but with the abitliy to collect badges if you're a coordinator or breeder, ect. I think, that would be a HUDGE sucess.

A huge success, but it may have to come with a second game pack or something. To fit ALL of that may be beyond what the DS can hold. Maybe when the 3DS rolls around and a re-release of RSE is over with. >>
But on a fun note, we got some game footage today. Like Nintedo, they only show a few seconds of the footage... but one new thing is present. No more static battles! The sprites are animated throughout the fight and the camera zooms in and out!

I think the DS could handle it. I heard the storage for HGSS only takes up a 1/4 of the cartridge, IF that.
WOW! I'm pretty impressed by the sprite movement, I was expecting something pretty jerky and unsightly but that seems fairly fluid. Can't wait to see all my favourite Pokemon in motion. ;D I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to this one. I also really need to get my mitts on those Shiny Legendary Beasts.
On a side note... Anyone else getting the feeling that SeaOtter is going to have a Water/Ice type hybrid evolution in its later evolutionary forms?

Well, the colors for that thing seem to match, and would finally be fitting. Water and steel? Oh, come on... Piplup and its evolved forms were penguins.

Armour plated penguins mind you. Still, having a Water/Ice typed endgame starter COULD be interesting but most Water/Ice types usually get the shove in terms of benefits. As for Smugsnake, i'm honestly thinking Grass/Poison but I wouldn't mind guessing at Grass/Dragon. That would fit in with the whole x4 weakness Gamefreak seem to love giving to Dragon types. As for Firepig... Who knows? I can't see it branching out any other way.

I like the grass Dragon idea to but as for the otter I could care less.
