Xylent was released from his Pokeball, and two things happened. First, the Pansage turned with a wicked smile towards his trainer, eyeing his sides as though they were fresh pieces of fruit.. just ready to be... tickled. However, the second thing was that the little monkey had been put up against yet another Poliwag. Already besting one this day, Xylent was practically a professional. Instead of turning on his trainer, the Pansage shrugged and faced the tadpole Pokemon, cracking it's knuckles. His paws were primed and ready to strike. Besides, Poliwag's were possibly ticklish, right?
Xylent charged forward, a shrill scream piercing the air as he raked his claws down the stomach of the Poliwag. However, after his attack was over, Xylent didn't return to his side. Instead, he attempted to tickle the Pokemon. However, he couldn't tickle it under it's arms, as it didn't have arms. Instead, it attempted to tickle it's belly, and Poliwag didn't appreciate the gesture too much. With a quick shake of it's body, Poliwag began to swirl the pattern on it's stomach with haste. The quicker it put this monkey to sleep, the quicker it'd quit being tickled. There was no way Xylent was going to dodge it, as he was right there. Xylent's eyes followed the pattern, followed by his head swirling to keep up. Before long, the Pokemon fell over backwards, snoring loudly. His tail twitched as he dreamed. Alex was a bit nervous sometimes about sending Xylent out, but thankfully this time his grass type was behaving well, in the sense that Xylent wasn't tickling him. Though with the scratch successfully landed, he was happy that he would be done with this Poliwag capturing and move on, finally. Surprisingly, his tickling monkey soon was under the hypnotic spell of this Poliwag. How do they even learn this move? With this monkey put to sleep, and he didn't feel like dragging this out by sending another Pokemon to weaken the Poliwag, he had to do something, though.
He reached into his bag and grabbed an empty Pokeball. This was a bit risky, but Pokeballs aren't that expensive, so he thought it should be fine. With Xylent passed out, he didn't really need to tell him to move over. Charging and running for a few steps, the young trainer tossed out the capture sphere and hoped that the Poliwag would be in the ball for good.

Feeling as though it had narrowly escaped it's demise, Poliwag searched for a way out of this particular predicament. Dodging to the sides and running seemed like a good plan, but there wasn't an easy way to get back to the waters without having to pass the trainer. It couldn't run very far into the forests that bordered the water, because Poliwag didn't know how to survive just yet. After all, it was still quite young. With later evolutions, it would gain the ease needed to wander the lands. Instead, it was stuck with finishing the battle.
The trainer didn't seem to mind that the Pokemon it had sent out - a tickling fiend - was asleep. At least, Poliwag didn't hear the trainer say anything angry. Perhaps it would let Poliwag go without too much of a fuss? The answer came when a Pokeball was brought out. Well drat. The capsule soared towards Poliwag andm before it could run out of the way, plinked against it's swirled belly. With a flash of ruby red light, Poliwag was sucked into the capsule. It fought hard, and in one shake...
Two shakes...
POP!
The sheer will exerted by Poliwag was enough to pop the Pokeball. In pure defiance and anger, Poliwag let out a few bubbles that popped against the grass Pokemon in front of him. It didn't do enough damage for the Pansage to wake up, nor was it enough to really cause any harm, but the statement had been made. Wild Poliwag- Level |9| Health: 15/26 Current Status: UNTAMABLE

OOC: used 1 Great Ball, self-deduct IC:
Alex's patience basically ran out when he saw and heard the Pokeball popped out. From the look of things, a single Scratch and Pokeball won't be enough. If his Pansage was awake, he might have weakened the Poliwag with another Scratch before proceeding with capturing the wild Pokemon. Though with the Hypnosis stopping that plan, the young trainer had no choice but to do something else to speed up this process of capturing the last Poliwag before leaving Violet City.
Digging into his bag once again, this time he grabbed a blue capture device. Seeing how Xylent was still asleep from the Hypnosis, Alex swung his arm again toward the water type Pokemon, and watched rather impatiently as the slightly-better capture device flew through the air, absorbed the Poliwag with a beam of light, and sat on the dock as it rocked again to see if the Poliwag would struggle its way out.

The first attempt had been a fluke, but the trainer was determined to stifle the Poliwag and keep it for himself. Poliwag didn't have much of a say in it, aside from the Bubbles and sheer defiance it showed. The last thing it wanted to do was be captured, but some things, like Great Balls for instance, have a different say in the matter. As the trainer pulled out the stronger capsule, Poliwag's heart sank into it's stomach. Perfect, just perfect. With a sense of sheer dread, Poliwag was sucked into the capture device with pinpoint accuracy, where it was forced to fight for it's life. Why couldn't it just continue battling? It was technically winning, until the monkey woke up, of course. It bubbled it's hardest against the edges of the capsule. Perhaps the water would mess with the machine and pop the Poliwag back out? It was a long shot, but it had a chance, right? One bubble. Nothing. Another Bubble. Nothing. On the third bubble, Poliwag was just plum tuckered out. The capsule shook a third time and.. ... IC: With the Poliwag captured, Alex literally jumped for joy that this was over. Picking up the captured Great Ball, and also thanking and returning his Pansage, he was ready to move on to Union Cave. IF he did his homework correctly, there should be some rock and ground types to train his growing list of grass types Pokemon. He smiled happily as he packed up his Old Rod into his bag and go where the new scenery was. He had been to Dark Cave before, and he was worried for a bit if he needed Flash again in the Union Cave.
Turns out, after walking in the cave for like few minutes, the cave had some cracks occasionally, that they were enough to lit the cave with sunlight. So perhaps, he thought, he should get out of this cave before nightfall because he can't remember if there will be a moonlight, or if the weather would be cloudy and cover up whatever moon phase tonight.
He hadn't seen anyone for a while, but he did hear occasional grumbling noise, which made him scared a bit as he thought there were ghosts or ghost type Pokemon living in the cave now. Then, when he was pretty much scared for half of his life, he noticed a bunch of boulders next to him moved and grumbled... It was an Onix!

Union cave was quiet. Eerily quiet. The only sounds that echoed through the cracked halls were the water droplets from cave formations called stalagtites that pooled at the cave floor, and the slight sound of paws, claws, and in some cases boulders, scraping against the cave floor. Wing beats from Zubat could be heard occasionally, but for the most part, they were docile. If one looked up in the small cave, hordes of Zubat hung upside down as they slept. In the Wild, the Zubat were noctournal, and slept during the day so they'd be awake and have energy at night to hunt for their food. Alex was quiet enough to have not disturbed them though, so it wasn't an issue. As he strode through the cave, however, something was disturbed. Something quite large, and something quite angry. The Onix had been resting, it's body outstretched along the sides of one of the cave walls. It had picked a weekday to sleep above ground, due to the fact not many trainers walked through here. It was the right time of day to sunbathe within the cracks, his hide illuminated in random stripes from the sunlight outside. But, instead, no. He couldn't sleep. The Zubat might not have heard the boy, but Onix could. It was the ground. Every footstep was an annoying poke on his body. It began to churn itself and raise up, staring at Alex with accusing eyes. He wanted to walk around and wake up large Pokemon? Fine. This trainer would have to face the consequences. Wild Onix (Level 9) has been disturbed! Will you Fight or Flee?

When he saw the Onix rose up from its slumber, Alex was quite a bit scared from the rock Pokemon's towering height and menacing stare. He felt as if the horn(?) on the Pokemon's head would be enough to stab him to a bloody death. The loose gravels were falling dramatically as the rock snake woke up, and they were still falling for a few seconds when the Onix reached its maximum snake-glaring height. His fear was quite a bit mixed right now, because he never thought that, besides ghost type Pokemon, rock types can be intimidating.
Looking from his height, he stared nervously for a few seconds to make sure that the opponent Pokemon wasn't trying to eat him. Then, after hearing a loud flapping of a school of Zubat fluttering away from somewhere within the cave, he shook his head and re-collected his focus. Sure, this was a rock type, but it should be nothing for a grass-type trainer, and it could be trouble for his bug types. Looking over his Pokeballs, he almost sent out a grass type when he realized that there was a Pokemon who could use a chance to shine.
Tossing out a Pokeball, he shouted, "Go, Zuroy! Use Bubble! Don't let the size scares you!" Out from the Pokeball, a small Azurill, which was shorter than Alex, appeared. The height discrepancies between the Azurill and the Onix was rather interesting in this battle. Thankfully though, this wasn't a beauty contest of height.

It's sleep rudely disturbed and the faced with a flock of Zubat which flapped their way past, the Onix's angered expression only deepened. The trainer hadn't ran off for his life yet but judging from the fear in his eyes, the sight of the huge, rocky Pokemon had caught him off guard. That was good for the Onix, it only wanted to slumber in peace but every time it did, if it wasn't a fire breather walking all over it's body it was someone or something else. Grunting deeply, it was up for a battle to shake off some of it's overflowing anger and there was a lot of it, enough to go around for Alex's choice of Pokemon. Only, as he flung the Pokeball forward, what stood as it's opponent didn't exactly rest well with the Onix. Almost feeling as if it was being underestimated or made a fool out of, it's eyes leered down to the tiny, frail body of the Azurill, who was even smaller than the very tip of the Onix's tail. It classed that bit of rock as a mere pebble! Not too happy with this less than satisfactory foe, the Onix could atleast humiliated the trainer by flattening the small mouse. That would make him wish that he had left the Onix in peace.
Not even needing to move, the Onix was starting to become so full of itself at the idea of squashing the Azurill that it merely let out a tremendous Screech of a roar. The very sound reverberating off the walls, parts of the rock began to crumble as the entire tunnel shook from it's powerful boom of a voice. Her tiny body shuddering, Zuroy wasn't entirely enthused with facing an Onix, especially after a battle cry such as that. Still, Alex had given his order and she intended to comply. Doubting very much that her attack would even be noticed by the Onix, she took in a deep breath and summoning the element of water from inside of her, managed to shoot out a series of floating bubbles. The Onix leaning it's head forward and almost about to roar with laughter at this pitiful attempt, what happened next was more than likely surprising.
The first bubble reached the body of the Onix and with a burst of pressure followed by the inside releasing a splash of water, the rocky tunnel snake couldn't help but flinch. That was strangely uncomfortable. It then happened again with a second bubble, then again with a third. All until even it began to fear being struck by another! Cowering back slightly, the once fearsome Pokemon suddenly looked like a joke.

When he thought his fear would be subsiding from the initial shock, the Onix let out a Screech that was quite piercing his ears. He covered his ears with both palms, sealing in as much as he could, only to find the roar muffled just a little. When the Onix stopped, he could felt his ears ringing for just a few more seconds, before his eardrums felt better. He whispered to himself to test out his hearing, looking like a silly person talking to himself. Once his hearing seemed to recover from the Screech, he sighed as he caught the last glimpse of the Bubble attack popping and splashing water on the rock and ground type.
"Good..." Alex began to speak in his normal voice, making sure that his ears were functioning fine. "Job Zuroy! Return!" The trainer held out a Pokeball and returned the baby Pokemon in a flash of red light. Next, he switched his hand into a different Pokeball, and tossed it as quickly as he had withdrew his last Pokemon. "Go, Chryaisy! Use Sleep Powder on the Onix in front of you!"
From the other Pokeball, a similarly small-sized Pokemon came out, but it was green this time. the Pokemon had quite an innocent and naive expression on her face. She looked around to find the "Onix", and then faced her opponent while squealing a "Pet!~" and hopped a bit close to her opponent for some powdery attack.

Calming down from it's sudden outburst of pain, the Onix reeled itself back in. Staring down at the Azurill with it's angered glare, the Onix did appear less wanting to battle the tiny Pokemon. It's bubbles had made the Onix's boulder body damp and uncomfortable, it was a feeling the rock creature certainly didn't like. Hoping a move or two would dry itself out, the Onix was about to prepare an attack when the human decided to change Pokemon. For a start, that was a relief for the Onix. Replacing the large tailed mouse was now a budding flower. Wanting to regain it's original, fearsome appearance, despite Alex already seeing it cower merely moments ago, the Onix leant it's head forward, becoming closer to Chryaisy. Screeching with it's parted jaw, her body shuddered as the pressure behind it's voice hit her whilst also causing the entire cave to rumble uncontrollably. If she had struggled to find the rocky snake before, that shout certainly would've helped her pin point it's body amidst the other boulders.
As she tried to clear her head of the ringing sound, the Petilil looked up, only to be harshly uplifted from the ground. The Onix used it's speed to over power it's opponent. There was no way it was going to underestimate another small opponent. Her defences already lowered, the Onix had lifted one of the many boulder's around it and literally threw it at the plant. Somehow managing to avoid being squashed, she had instead been hit and her light body sent tumbling backwards. Wriggling herself back up to her feet, she emerged from the other side of the boulder and found Onix once again. Shaking frantically, the Petilil produced a cloud of light blue spores which floated toward the Onix. It's face unsure, the Onix could hardly dodge due to being so big. It's open mouth accidentally breathing some spores in, the affect quickly took hold. Struggling to keep it's eyes open, the feeling of wanting to sleep overpowered the rock snake and with a heavy slam, slumped forward. Followed by a loud snore.

Watching the Onix react, Alex had a feeling that maybe the Rock type didn't like him. Whether it was waking the Onix from its sleep, or his Pokemon choice into the fray, he wasn't sure, as he was still learning how to read Pokemon's behavior. He wasn't a Pokemon behavior expert! He watched nervously as the Onix inched its face closer to the Petilil, and quickly covered his ears as he had a feeling that another Screech was about to happen. He felt terrible for another one of his Pokemon to endure another one of this Screech attack, as it could be traumatizing for a small Pokemon.
Then, the Onix went into offensive with the Rcok Throw move. He wasn't sure how the Petilil could handle herself, as this was his first battle watching the grass type fight. However, based on how the grass type dodged like all but one or two rocks, Alex had a good feeling that this Pokemon could handle very well on her own! Phew, at least she wasn't crushed salad! When the blue cloud of Sleep Powder put the Onix to sleep, Alex had a brief reminiscent of his Ivysaur using that move a few times.
With the Onix asleep, Alex took this opportunity to reached into his bad and grabbed a Pokeball. Chryaisy turned her head to Alex and wondered what to do next, looking like a child needing the next instruction. Instead, the young trainer just tossed a common red and white sphere toward the Onix, hoping for the best.

Chucking the Pokeball forward, it soared through the air with impressive aerodynamic design. Clearly these devices had been honed to the point of perfection. Clanging against the Onix's stony hide, it seemed the capture was going ahead. Absorbing it in a red light, the Pokemon was covered from head to toe as it was digitised and scooped into the centre of the spherical capture device. Falling to the floor with a prang, the capture was now under way. Rocking back and forth, it was processing the newly acquired Pokemon. Once... Twice... Thrice...
*BURST*Oh no! The Wild Onix broke free! Agonisingly, whether it be down to the Onix's impressive size or just the Pokeball itself being faulty, it appeared the great tunnel snake was able to break free from its bonds. Slumbering noisily, the Pokemon's heavy breathing reverberated from the cave, seemingly unaware it had just avoided being captured and living to tell about it for another round. Stirring only slightly, it appeared the effects of Chryaisy's sleep powder spores were nothing to be laughed out to bring such a behemoth asleep. Given it was subdued, it was clear Alex had yet another chance to capture should he wished but there was no telling when this Onix would awake and continue on its wrathful actions. Not experienced with rock/ground type Pokemon, Alex wasn't sure if he had weakened the foe enough, or the foe was just unobtainable by a simple Pokeball. The rock snake disappeared briefly into the Pokeball, only to reappear again after the burst of the Pokeball. He was startled and nervous that the Onix would use another painful Screech attack.
Instead, he found the Onix still sleeping under the spell of his Petilil's sleep powder. Though his heart was pounding as if the foe could wake up any time soon. He loudly performed some deep inhale and exhale to calm his nerves down, and then went into his bag and grabbed another Pokeball. He smiled at his Petilil, with another brand new unbroken ball on his hand, and charged forward two steps before tossing the ball from his hand.
The ball went flying again, and the Petilil stood there, loitering just waiting for if she needed to attack the giant snake again. Using her eyes, she turned her head around from Alex to the Onix to follow the trail of the Pokeball, curious by such simple catching method. While she may not completely understood this, she knew that she should stay alert in case the Onix wakes up and try to attack her with its voice or some rocks.

Even with the uncertainty of whether the Onix had a bit too much stamina in order to resist the capture or whether Pokeballs were just too ineffective for the task, it meant Alex was at bit of an impasse. There was no telling when this Onix would wake from its slumber and when it did, there was no doubt it would wreck absolute havoc for being subdued in such a way. Big and mighty, they possessed immense strength not to be trifled with. One of the major causes of death when venturing through rocky locales such as Union Cave was from territorial Onix protecting their land. Thankfully, Alex possessed some nerves of steel and with a deep inhale and exhale, settled his mind in order to give it another shot. After all, sleep powder was known for its potent ability to keep Pokemon asleep. Taking a couple of steps forward as yet another red and white capture device was used, it would be tantalising to see if this would be the one to do the job. Soaring through the air, the Pokeball tabbed against the beast's resilient hide, once again compressing such a behemoth monster into such a confined space. Falling to the cave floor, the Pokeball rocked back and forth, trying its best to capture. Once...
*BURST*Oh no! The Wild Onix broke free! Annoyingly, the Onix burst free even quicker than it had done so before. Filling up the cave area with its large scale, the Pokemon snored loudly, causing a distinct reverberation throughout the cave. Scarily enough, this time the Onix seemed to move its body around slightly as it began to grumble in its sleep. Would this slumbering brute wake up?! ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Thankfully not. As if responding to something it disliked within the realms of its dream, the Onix continued to slumber. Wild Pokemon Battle
