The attack felt like it came out of no where, the Fearow was very fast as Scarout launched himself at the Electrike. Although it had been a coastly move, it had been worth it. The Electrike had no idea what hit him as Scarout tossed the pokemon over with his sharp beak making the pokemon cry out in pain. But the Electrike was quick to recover as it got back up on its feet. It wasn't long before Electrike's body started to charge brightly in glowing yellow. The wild electric pokemon sent a blast of the electricity towards the Fearow as he flew through the air still. The electricity managed to grab hold onto the Fearow causing Scarout to wince from it. But the attack did not involve pain but Scarout was struggling with his wings as his muscles started to tense up. Electricity could be seen running along side his feathers as he tried to stay up in the air but even that was starting to become a challenge. Had Alex made a mistake on trying to battle the electric pokemon with a flying type? Or did he want this to happen? Battle

After Scarout had finished attacking, Alex was a little stunned. Being a not-electric type trainer, he was trying to grasp what was happening to his Fearow. The big bird didn't seem damaged, so what did the Electrike just do? He wasn't sure, but from the jolts of electricity running around his feathers, could it be... a status?
"Return, Scarout," he held out a Pokeball, returning his Fearow as he wasn't sure if he should let his bird carry on anyways. He tossed out another Pokeball, hoping to weaken this Electrike a little more. He shouted, "Go, Spiden! Use Constrict!"
The green spider came out, and she wasn't terrified of this dog. She prepared to shoot some sticky string to wrap and yank this Electrike's body.

As the battle continued, Alex's hunch had been right about it being a status issue. He swapped his pokemon out for a small insect and the Electrike continued on with its attacks. Now feeling threatened by this trainer it had to defend itself since there was a risk of being captured. The Electrike raced forward seeing the opportunity to strike at the Spinarak as it was adjusting to its surroundings and struck Spiden hard making the pokemon wince from the pain. Up next was Spiden as the pokemon sent out a sticky silky string at the Electrike making it struggle underneath the attack. The webbing was caught on its legs and parts of its body making it difficult to stand and the attack had been a successful one. Lastly Electrike raced at Spiden once more as it finished the attack striking it a second time with another battle. So far it looked like the Electrike was starting to get tired from the battle, it didn't know how much longer it was going to last at this rate. Battle

Looking at how severely this Electrike was weakened, Alex was ready to capture this exotic electric Pokemon. However, he wasn't sure how difficult to catch this Pokemon or how much resistance it would be once entered a capture device. He reached into his pocket and withdrew a green and yellow Pokeball, different from his usual red and white ball, or his blue Great Ball.
"Go, Quick Ball!" he tossed the special capture device designed to capture a wild Pokemon as soon as the user enters the battle.
He watched anxiously and waited for the outcome, and Spiden clicked her mandibles seriously, awaiting just in case the Electrike pops out.

The Electrike didn't want to be captured and growled static flowing on the pokemon's body daring anyone to come close to it. Unfortunately for this wild pokemon Alex had a good trick up his sleeve as he pulled a Quick Ball from his ball pocket.
As soon as the black haired boy threw the ball the pokemon was sucked in a bright red light and the ball fell to the ground wobbling and the pokemon was caught. Just like that.
The Pokeball wobbled once... twice... three time before it sat still. CONGRATULATIONS! Electrike has been captured! Alex finally was glad to find a Bellsprout in this area. He had been distracted by trainer battles and fishing and other Pokemon that he haven't seen a single Bellsprout in this route, despite the fact that they were supposed to be common!
"Wait, I want to train you, Bellsprout!" he yelled at the incoming vine whip, which he was used to. The grass-enthusiast didn't budge at all. He had seen vine whip from his Bulbasaur and his Pansage. This is nothing. Though if this Bellsprout had learned Solar Beam, he would have to get out of the way anyways.
WELL, wanting to train a Bellsprout was one thing, but Alex was also preparing to train his bug type Pokemon for the bug-type gym leader Bugsy. He grabbed a Pokeball form his pocket and released his Spinarak into the fray. He shouted, "Spiden, use Night Shade!"
Out from the Pokeball came a lime green colored Spinarak. Having used the move so many times, the bug Pokemon knows the drill. Though she wondered if this was Alex's favorite move to use. The spider's eyes glowed red and began charging the night shade at the poor Bellsprout.

‘La la la la la!’ hummed a flower-like grass-type as it walked around, occasionally tilting its head to stare at movement before continuing its walk. This Bellsprout seemed to be… quite… happy… or perhaps crazy. When it came across a large water puddle, it stopped and stared at its reflection. ‘Wow, I look so cool!’ it cried, whipping its… hand?… out and smacking the water in an attempt to caress the reflection, only to be disappointed when the water rippled, causing the image to vanish. But then a Beautifly flew by, and it chased after the bug-type, being distracted by the patterns on its wings. ‘Wait!’ cried the vain grass-type, ‘I just want to see your wings!’ but the Beautifly continued on, and the grass-type was left alone. Then a familiar noise drew the Bellsprout’s attention- the sound of a Pokemon being let out of its Poke Ball. Deciding to investigate, the narcissist headed to the sound, hiding as a large, scary bird fought with an unfamiliar green and yellow canine. The Bellsprout flinched when the dog released electricity, and watched as a spider-like ‘Mon came out. ‘Yuck! Stay away from me!’ it whined, because the spiders and others like it were well known for trying to use the bulb that was a head on a Bellsprout. When the battle ended, the Bellsprout walked away, fully expecting to never see that trainer again. But then, as fate would have it, the trainer decided to find a pokemon of its kind. And so, it spun, releasing a Vine Whip next to the boy as he approached it. A vain Lvl 12 Bellsprout is ready to battle! Will you FIGHT or FLEE?

It seemed to take a while for the Bellsprout to realize that a battle had started with it as the defending pokemon. On the other side a green bug appeared that was known as a Spinarak. The Bellsprout blinked its tiny black beady eyes at the site of the entrance of the bug pokemon. the Bellsprout didn't seem all that terrified the forest area around here had been covered in bug pokemon so the Spinarak was nothing unusual. But what did bother the bellsprout was the attack that Spinarak produced at the grass pokemon. the Spinarak's eyes turned bright purple as the menacing stare only continued, a dark shadowy aura fell onto the Bellsprout making it shudder with fear. But it was already too late to try and flee the Bellsprout was stuck battling this bug pokemon, and apparently already loosing. It was the Bellsprout's turn next as the grass pokemon unleashed its vines again, the trainer didn't seem at all bothered by the vines, but maybe that was because he had felt the same kind of vines from other grass pokemon. The Bellsprout had been curious to find out what they were. But obviously it would mean that it'd have to get the trainer to bring them out onto the field if he had them with him. Soon the vines were sent straight for Spinarak as the bug pokemon winced from the damage but it still stood. Spinarak seemed to be doing just fine as the battle started, and the odds were for Spiden. Unfortunately for the Bellsprout, Alex had no intention of using his other grass types for this battle. Instead, he was getting ready to swap his Pokemon. He took out a Pokeball and returned Spiden, "Good job, Spiden! Thanks for weakening the Bellsprout!"
In a quick flash of light, the Spinarak disappeared into the Pokeball. Then, Alex pulled out another Pokeball, and a different Pokemon appeared, a flying one! He tossed the Pokeball and ordered the next move, shouting, "Casilk, go for a Tackle!"
Out from the Pokeball was a colorful Beautifly. Looking around and seeing no female humans or fellow Pokemon, the bug type focused straight for the battle and attack the tiny grass type.

With the Spinarak out of the picture for this battle the Bellsprout wondered what other type of pokemon that the trainer had up his sleeves. Even if it was some other bug the Bellsprout knew that it could take whatever this trainer was going to throw at it next. Literally. So when a Beautifuly appeared in the light from the pokeball.
Seeing the bugs wings the Bellsprout decided to use a Vine Whip elongating it's roots and slapping the Butterfly pokemon. Though it did hardly no damage to Caslik.
With that round over Caslik listened to Alex and attacked the Bellsprout with a tackle leaving just the tiniest sliver of life left. Deciding the Bellsprout would like to not be knocked out out let a Sleep Powder from it's blossom on the top of it's head and hitting the Beautifly full on in the face it floated to the ground and soundly fell asleep.

Bellsprout can be captured! Would you like to capture the pokemon Bellsprout?

Alex chuckled a little at his own Pokemon falling asleep. Well, he haven't have any Pokemon falling into status ailment for a while. At least for someone who had his grass type Pokemon put Falkner's Pidgeotto to sleep, having his own Pokemon falling asleep was a bit, making him feel funny.
Seeing how the Bellsprout was on the last bit of its health, Alex grabbed an empty Pokeball and hurled that capture device in the grass/poison type's direction. There it goes for one more grass type Pokemon. Maybe he should change his goal to be a grass type trainer, but he still prefer learning more to be a doctor for humans now.

The Bellsprout was just barely hanging on to the last bit of health it had. If it just had one more attack the bellsprout was going to be a goner. But the trainer seemed to have something else in mind as he tossed a pokeball straight towards the grass pokemon. It flew through the air and tapped bellsprout on one of the leaves of the pokemon making it wince a bit, half expecting another move to be called out. But none did. The pokeball opened up and released a red light as it consumed the Bellsprout. The Bellsprout disappeared into the pokeball and the pokeball dropped onto the ground where it rested in the grass. Now all Ethan had to do was wait. The ball wiggled to the right, to the left, and finally...click! The center in the pokeball flash red announcing the successful capture of the pokemon! Congratulations, Alex successfully captured the Bellsprout! Alex picked up the red and white capture device. He was glad to finally capture this Bellsprout. Alas, another grass type for him to study... and to train. Those Victreebel acids could be useful someday if he had access to the tools and equipment to extract them. Maybe when he becomes a doctor and have his own laboratory.
He put the Bellsprout's Pokeball into his pocket, and then headed toward the Fishing Jetty once more. He place down his backpacks and stood, throwing the Old Fishing Rod toward the waters once more, and continued to look for more Poliwags.

While Alex stood on the dock and all was peaceful and quiet while his hook dangled in the water underneath what he could see it almost seemed as though a party was taking place below him. All the pokemon were enjoying the cool water on this beautiful spring day. It was much more enjoyable than the freezing water they had in the winter needing to go deeper to stay warmer.
One little Poliwag though had moved away from all it's friends and saw the shiny hook. Swimming towards it and around it before it grabbed it. At this point Alex felt the weight difference and up came the little poliwag from the water and on to the dock. It bounced on the wood for a second before it looked around and landed it's eyes on Alex.
Poliwag Level (11) was caught on your hook.
