Status: 30 safari balls, 0 encounters, Wetlands Recently, a few things have happened. Alex caught his second wurmple and Casilk have evolved into a Silcoon. He also have visited Unova for the first time and saw many exotic pokemon, as well as bought the Unova starter Snivy. Thirdly, he have recently moved to exploring route 30 and resided in Cherrygrove City. Lastly, summer have ended and the autumnal wind have been blowing in the area. Chilly, he thought. Just as he was returned to the pokemon center, he walked toward the mailroom and check. He inserted the key and turned, the mailbox clicked a light metallic sound. Then, he lifted the hinge open, checking his mails as usual... until, he saw a strange mail. A competition he had entered weeks ago finally sent out result, he thought. Did he win? Did he lose? He was anxious and opened the mail immediately. Nevermind manners and etiquette, he ripped the mail envelope nervously. He began reading... Dear Alex,
We're pleased to inform you that your participation in our special contest have been selected as a winner. Bbe prepared to explore the Cianwood Safari Zone at [date], you have 10 encounters and 30 safari balls. Please also call our office at abc-def-ghijk-lmno during office hours with your identifications to verify the winner.
Cianwood Safari Zone Management [signature] ... Oh my Mews! he thought in his head. He opened his mouth in awe, but was afraid to shout happily in the pokemon center. After all, pokemons were supposed to be resting. He slapped a hand over to cover his surprise. Grabbing the mails, he quickly closed the mailbox and began running toward the public phones to claim his winning, as well as to his room to begin packing. This was going to be fun. More pokemon for him to study.
On the day that the management and Alex confirmed, a gentleman lead Alex from the Cherrygrove pokemon center to a vehicle. After a brief exchange of greeting and smiled, Alex sat himself in the car. The car was not especially fancy, but he could not complain since the objective of the reward was not the ride but the exploration and discovery. He could hardly sleep in the car, but he took a nap anyways, to save his energy. When the vehicle arrived, he was awoke by the gentleman. They had arrived to a Goldenrod City helicopter area! Alex can hardly contain his joy. It's only morning and so many things have happened! The pilot and assistant pilot helped him to his seat. He looked out the window and saw the field. The area became windy as the helicopter blew up the air in the area. Soon, the engine was ready and the helicopter flew up, and the area around him began to look smaller. He felt like a child, and the pilots can see that too. However, no one said a word. This was also his first helicopter ride. He was both scared like a five years old and excited like a thirty years old man.
Soon, the helicopter landed in a different city. As the flying vehicle was landing, he could see the different fauna and niche for the pokemon. Indeed he had landed to the safari zone. A guide outside out of the helicopter greeted him, and he got up to follow the guide. His heart was pounding, but not too fast. His body was sweating, either from the area heat or his body heat of excitement. "Thank you for participating with us today, Alex Burke," the guide greeted. "Just call me Alex, thanks," he smiled, and excited for what would happen. "You will be given a safari map, 30 safari balls, and 10 pokemon encounters. I will now give you a guideline to the game," the guide began to talk as the two moved toward a golf cart. It seemed like the safari zone staff used that for moving about the area. After the brief introduction, Alex pointed an area on the map and told the tour guide, "I would like to start in the Wetland.""Cool, we've got boots in the box in the back. Just watch out for fuzzy and itchy grasses. It would be terrible to get your feet wet, heh?" the tour guide pointed the back of the golf cart, smiling and began driving.

Wetland- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The cart had been equipped with all-terrain wheels to handle the swampy ground of the wetlands and prevent the tourist and his guide from being bogged down. Eventually, on a semi-solid patch of grassy land surrounded by water, they came to a stop. Insects droned in the background, bird chirps punctuating through the incessant sound, with the occasional sound of the other residents of the area rising loud enough to be heard.
Many Pokémon were watching the humans curiously, hidden from sight. They weren't used to them quite yet with the park re-opening recently. Some wanted to investigate, but were held back by fear of what may happen should they do that. But of course, there was always the one foolish Pokémon that decided to ignore everything and boldly announce its presence.
A little blue creature came swaggering out of the water, flicking mud from the small bank with its tail. It bobbed its head a few times as it stepped onto the grassy patch, gazing directly at Alex with no fear in its beady black eyes. "Woooo-pah!" the brazen Wooper said, puffing out its chest.
Attention!A swaggering Wooper (Level 11) has appeared before you! Will you throw bait, a rock, a ball or flee?Encounter Limit; 1 out of 10.

Upon seeing the jolly wooper, Alex was joyous that he encountered a friendly and easy-going pokemon. The Safari guide smiled and congratulated Alex.
"Well, here you go, your first pokemon. You can throw a rock, bait, a safari ball, or leave this cute little wooper alone," he commented, ensuring that the participant understand this. "From now I will just watch behind you to make sure you're safe from aggressive pokemon. Ask me questions if you needed."
Alex listened to the guide's tips and instruction, despite slightly getting annoyed by the amount of talking. Alex watched the cheery pokemon bobbing its head side to side. He noticed that its feet and tail have some mud on them.
He stared at the pokemon for a moment, deciding if he should catch it. The tour guide was quiet, as not to affect the participant's decision. He watched as the pokemon bobbed its head and waved its tail. The motion seemed to parallel his undetermined train of thought.
Then, he made a decision.
"Hey, I will just leave you alone enjoying yourself," he spoke to the wooper and began walking away.
However, instead of leaving the wet lands completely, he moved toward a patch of grass dipping into the water. Based on the reflection of the water, there seemed to be mud underneath. Standing on the grass, he placed a palm on a tree and leaned. Then, he shielded his eyes from the sun and looked for another pokemon that might be wandering or hiding...

Blinking it's eyes slowly with a stretched out grin plastered on it's dopey face, the Wooper cried out again and tilted it's head upon hearing Alex's words. Noticing the boy wander off and the guide stick behind him, the Wooper drooped slightly, intrigued by the unusual sight of a human being. Obviously no interaction was going to be occurring so perking itself back up, the odd creature began to waddle over the stretch of land, shaking off every patch of mud only to dive back into the next swamp like pool and swim off. Perhaps if Wooper wasn't such a common sight elsewhere, it would have a chance of being captured, but it wouldn't be today. Instead, Alex found his next patch of solid ground, using the tree as support as his eyes glanced around. Oddly, his next encounter wouldn't be in his line of sight but more like directly below him.
His foot literally inches from sinking into the murky depths of sloppy mud and grim water, a creature was already occupying the section of the pond. Blending in with several lillypads on the water's surface was a lone Lombre, the camouflage being nothing less than perfect, or atleast until it lifted it's head. Aware of some unusual company, the wild creature peered up ever so slightly, flashing it's narrowed eyes up to the boy before slowly moving back into it's hidden position. If Alex had been able to acknowledge this sudden movement, then all the better, but otherwise walking away once again would be fine too.
A wild Lombre (Level 7) has appeared! Throw a Rock, lay some Bait, use a Safari Ball or Flee? Encounter Limit; 2 out of 10

Alex held his position and observed the field as he moved his neck left to right slowly, and right to left again. The scene was too idyllic, like something out of a historical painting or puzzle. The air was still, the grass were immobile, and the water was placid. An echo of pokemon vibrating wings could be heard, but there was no more than that.
Before him, many marsh grasses stood, fully grown from the muddy water below. The scene was too strangely quiet, he wondered if this will be the set up for the next horror movie trailer. Just has he was wandering his mind, he relaxed his hands from leaning against the tree and shielding his eyes. He took a step back to stand near the tree, in case the ground below him can not support his weight were he to move forward.
Then, he noticed a ripple on the water edge near him. However, he cannot see clearly what was moving, as reeds were blending the field. Unable to identify the source of the strange ripple, Alex reached into a bag loaned by the safari guide and tossed a small rock toward the reeds, hopefully sending a message to the pokemon in the area that some one is here. If there were no pokemon, could that be just.. a small leaf or branch of grass falling into the water?
He swung his arm and watched as the rock flew upward, hopefully this won't hit any pokemon but made a sound in the water, enough to alert them his presence.
OOC: yeah, he sort of can't see the pokemon lol. and used rock rawr, not sure if morrigan saw through that i don't like wooper P: (but then again, they're not the only water/ground haha)

Alex VS.---------------------------------------------- It had gone back to minding its own business. Well, at least it thought that it had gone back to minding its own business. The unusually young Lombre hadn't thought that the human on the patch of solid ground had seen it, so, it had paid no heed to the fact that maybe he had seen it. It closed its eyes, ready to go back to a nice, restful sleep, one it had been trying to get all day. Well, at least that would have been a nice thing to do. Whack! it felt a stone slap its pad-shaped head, and let out a cry underwater that made bubbles surface a bit up top. Alex had innocently tested the water to see what had been hiding in the murky waters, but he probably wasn't expecting what he was about to get. The Lily-pad suddenly began fidgeting, only to disappear underwater. A splash followed by an eruption in the water as something busted out from under it indicated that he had gotten himself into something. The Lombre landed on the patch of ground across from the one that Alex was standing on. It looked angry, and mostly upset that it had been disturbed. Though it didn't have any teeth to speak of that were visible, its beak-like mouth was parted in what looked like a snarl. Well, what was Alex going to do next? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- A Wild Pokemon has appeared!Wild Lombre, Level 7 You threw a Rock at the Wild Lombre.Wild Lombre is Angry!

After Alex had flung the rock, he was greeted with splashes and ripples of water. He watched as the reed swayed, as if something was approaching. Then, soon his eyes were met with a lily pad beaked pokemon. A lombre! A grass type! It's not lotad!
Except that pokemon looked angry, possibly upset. The green and blue pokemon snarled and growled. A warning were hummed from its throat.
However, to Alex, this was just his first pokemon that he would want to capture. Satisfied with this encounter, he reached into his bag for an empty safari ball. The pokeball was uniquely colored with green and brown, giving it an appearance of camouflage.
Estimating the distance, he tossed the safari ball and it hurled upward toward the blue sky, and it dropped on the lombre. The safari ball opened with a mild pop sound and enveloped the pokemon in a bright white light.
The device began to wobbled on the patch of wet grass. Although it didn't wobble that much since the grass was still wet from the previous splash, and the ball's smooth and shiny covering were moistened in the lower part of the ball.
"Looks like it's your first pokemon..." the guide spoke as the two watched.
"Does your staff members have to pick up broken or failed safari balls?" Alex asked curiously as he watched and waited for the result...
OOC: Alex used safari ball. in my opinion, i would like to imagine that the ball would wobble, but can't wobble much in this grass.. ha

Despite having been accosted with a pleasant rock to its being, the Lombre wasn't going anywhere. Still standing its ground, too proud to desert its territory, the Pokemon was in two minds as to what to do. The temptation to splurt a nice jettison of water over the male's face was something that numbed the pain but it knew if it wasn't on best behaviour that it'd have a not so nice evening with the Safari Zone detention staff. Pulling a grumpy expression with its beak like mouth, the Pokemon folded its arms not before letting out another guttural like growl as if to warn him not to bother throwing anything else. Unfortunately, its speech was so indecipherable he may as well have been telling Alex to slap his knee and call him Aunt Sally. Looking off elsewhere, out of the corner of the Lombre's eye, he saw the male move his arm forward in order to throw something else forward. Exploding with an angry growl, the Pokemon was taken aback instantly as the spherical device bumped into it, nowhere near as painful as the stone from last time. Not quite sure what to think, the Pokemon was scooped up inside the Safari Ball. Splashing to the ground, it rocked back and forth restrainedly by the grass. However, each time it did, it caused a slight stir and shook the blades of grass. Once... Twice...
*BURST*Oh no! The Pokemon managed to escape! Safari Balls remaining: x29
Bursting out, the Lombre let out a splutter from its mouth as if it had been placed into the most suffocating space imaginable. Given the fact it had been raised in the expansive lands of the Safari Zone, whatever accommodation it had inside the ball was likely to be a fraction of what it was accustomed too. As the ball separated, it amazingly disintegrated before even touching the ground. However, now wasn't the time for focusing on the wonders of Pokeball technology. Even more agitated, the ticked off Lombre stood there, outraged with everything Alex had done so far. Safari Encounter

"They do... but sometimes the pokemon pick up the broken pokeballs and place in an area near the road for us to pick up," the tour guide answered as he too watched the pokemon capture attempt.
Then, the pokeball loudly cracked open as the lombre escaped. Alex loosed a slight curse as he reached into his bag for another safari ball.
"Aw, come on, we can train together, Lombre," he said as he tossed another pokeball again, as if this statement would persuade them.
He watched as the ball wobbled in its struggle again. Hopefully, he can acquire this lilypad pokemon this time.

The Lombre, meanwhile, was contemplating whether it should just go over there and attack Alex, perhaps scare him off. For a moment, the Lombre relished the idea of showing that Trainer who is boss, but the idea was instantly banished. The Lombre had to remind itself humans were dangerous. To attack one was to spell death for itself. Instead, the Lombre waited, seething with anger it could do nothing but wait.
Suddenly, another spherical capsule sailed towards it. The Lombre let out a cry of surprise and tried to dodge it, but its clumsy footing caused it to slip and fall. Too late, the Safari ball had already hit it hard on the head. The capsule opened up and, with a flash of bright light, the Lombre felt itself being sucked into it. The familiar sensation of being trapped seized the Lombre and it thrashed about inside, unwilingly to remain captive by the Trainer. From outside, the ball was violently shuddering about. It rocked back and forth until......
*POP!*
The Safari ball snapped open and the Lombre jumped out with a roar of triumph and rage. -------------------------------------- Safari balls remaining: x28 ------------------------------------------------------- The Lombre felt the vein on its forehead pop violently as it picked up the Safari ball that had tried to enslave it and hurled it away in anger. "If this is your idea of catch, I don't like it!"the Lombre snarled at Alex, glaring daggers at him. Part of the Lombre knew it should run away before Alex had another chance to catch it, but it was so angry at the Trainer, the Lombre defiantly stayed where it was. Why? Alex thought to himself. Why won't you like to join me? His face was irritated, annoyed, and tensed with blood flowing through the veins. If he were a robot, he would put an incinerator on his head so he could literally let out steam.
Alex reached into his pocket and grabbed another rock. This time, instead of hitting it directly, he aimed at the grass near it, as not to hit the pokemon. This encounter would be terrible for him if the lombre got bored of this situation. Or get frustrated beyond screaming.
Three... Two... One.. he counted in his mind, then, aiming slightly away from the Lombre and tossed the rock...

The Lombre never took its eyes off of Alex. The lotus on its head quivered slightly and the vein on its forehead continued to pop angrily. Suddenly, the Lombre tensed up as he saw Alex reach into his pocket. Eyes narrowed, the Lombre spotted the familiar brown shade of a rock. The Trainer suddenly hurled the rock towards it and the Lombre let out a cry of alarm. Too shocked to move, the Lombre quickly raised its arms to cover itself, bracing for impact. However, a dull thud sounded right beside it. Daring to peek through its arms, the Lombre realized the rock had merely landed right next to it. A mixture of relief and anger swirled through its mind. Relief that it hadn't suffered another bruise on the head by the rock, and anger that Alex seemed to be mocking it. "You think I'm not good enough to hit?! You don't scare me!"the Lombre growled at Alex, beating its hands upon the marshy ground to show its anger. Furious, but still not daring to confront the Trainer in a battle, the Lombre waited for the Trainer's next move. The Lombre (Level 7) You threw a rock at the LombreLombre is very angry! Alex watched as the rock fell near the Lombre, but not on its head. However, that move still made the pokemon angry. Actually, Alex was also angry that they're testing each others' patience... or that's what he thought they're doing.
He watched as the Lombre growled some more. Its beak seemed to be coated with the lack of anger management lessons. Seeing this opportunity, Alex wanted to try again to capture this pokemon.
Two rocks. He had thrown two rocks. Hopefully these would be enough.
Reaching his hand to his bag again, he tossed yet another safari ball...
OOC: used ball. shorter post, sorry lol.

This was beginning to get ridiculous for the Safari Zone wildlife inhabitant. Rock, ball, rock, ball, rock ball... If this were to go on any further it'd most likely predict another repeat of before. This time ready as the Safari Zone Ball came hurtling towards it, the Lombre wailed its arms around in a futile attempt to send it flying elsewhere. Unbeknownst to it, that would be all the capturing device would need. Brushing against the Pokemon's lengthy arms, it set off the capture sequence and directly influenced it to open wide, shooting out a bright light that enraptured it. Shrinking it down into size unwillingly, the Lombre was seconds later inside and gently began to nudge back and forth, tangled up in all of the wetland's vegetation. Once... Twice... Thrice...

Lombre Name: Lodde or Leof Gender: M/F Level: 7 Moves: Astonish, Growl, Absorb, Nature Power Ability: Swift Swim Nature/Personality: Modest *don't box this yet. Still thinking name and personality IC: Status: 27 safari balls, 2 encounter(s), Desert His heart pounded as the safari ball wobbled left and right. He wondered if throwing that extra rock would scare the pokemon away and fail the capture. DING! the pokeball clicked. His blood pressure returned from the suspense and back to normal as he exhaled in relieve. Finally! Now he can train this Lombre. Deciding to name the pokemon later, he pocketed the pokemon for later. "Congratulations, you caught your first pokemon in the Safari Zone!" the safari zone guide congratulated. Smiling, Alex replied, "Thanks!"Thinking that this area doesn't seemed to be teemed with interesting pokemon, he decided to move to a different area and made his way. He returned to the vehicle with the guide following. "Where would you like to go now, Alex?" the guide asked the trainer. "Let's see the Savannah for now," he replied. "We might have to stop by a rest house to refill our water bottle supplies," the guide noted the interruption of the adventure as the cart's engine was started and began moving. As the vehicle was moving, Alex watched the scenery changed from a sea of reeds and marsh to a sea of dry stalks of land. The drive only took them a few minutes to change scenery. Nevertheless, the area must be wide for the pokemon. Stopping in the rest house, Alex watched a set of monitors that are embedded in each area. Something about his previous choice of Savannah startled him. The pokemon there looked.... buried in the mass of plants. He looked at the clock and realized it was afternoon. Perhaps he should take advantage of the setting sun. The guide took a few minutes to supply the water bottle and maybe a little restroom break. The driver returned, asking the tourist, "You ready now?""I am changing my mind, let's go to the Desert..." he told the guide as his voice trailed off to his thought. A second later, he joined the driver and the two began driving again. This time, the wave of brown grasses turned to an ocean of sand. After finding a middle point in the long road by the desert, the vehicle finally stopped. Alex took a cool water bottle with him, drank a sip, and got out of the car. He stood and shielded his eyes from the afternoon sun. Even though the sun was setting, the temperature was still hot. He would have to be careful to not get sun burnt or heat stroke in this few hours. He turned around to made sure he knew where the vehicle was, since this time the guide won't be following too close as they have watch towers to ensure safety. He began treading his feet in the warm sands... OOC of the post: Alex can't decide name and saved for later. Originally decided to go to Savannah, stopped by a rest house and changed his mind to desert.
