The young trainer couldn't help but grin as Denki landed a strong Tackle, sending the Zigzagoon skittering back and unable to stop. It took the little dog a moment to find purchase, finally stopping before it could hit anything. Almost immediately after striking their (his) opponent, he loped back to his trainer's side, tongue hanging out lazily. He eyed the other canine, curious as to what type of move he would perform. Both he and she watched in amazement as it meandered over in a zig-zagging pattern, Denki cocking his head in a 'what the heck' type of expression, while Haley herself restrained a snicker, and snorted.
The Electrike stared at the Zigzagoon as it eventually came to a stop in front of him, pausing for a moment with a wagging tail. He wagged in return, thinking that, perhaps, the Zigzagoon wanted to take a break from the battle to play. This proved false, as beady, raccoon-like eyes narrowed before a sudden battle cry erupted from its throat. It leaped up, clearing the air faster than it had cleared the ground, and rammed into the electric-type shoulder first.
As the Zigzagoon was smaller than he, the attack didn't knock him flying but simply sent him stumbling back, his rump thumping to the ground. Despite that, it proved strong enough to rub his fur together, releasing an electrical field that originated from he. The other canine, standing too close and unable to have gotten away in time, was caught by it, sparks visibly dancing on its fur. Haley couldn't help but grin as its muscles seemed to jerk and jump, unwilling to obey its commands, and both red-brown and black eyes followed it as it stumbled back.
“Denki!” she barked and, the canine now familiar with this procedure, he bounded back to stand at her heel, ready to jump into the fray once more at her command. A Poke Ball was quick to be procured from her knapsack, a single tap enlarging it to full size. She cocked back and threw, not so hard this time, humor having dampened her frustrated and misplaced anger. Denki's eyes followed the little ball, every muscle in his body stiffening with the urge to leap after it and fetch it for her.

Vs. Zigzagoon - - - - - - - - - - - - - Riddled as it was by paralysis, Zigzagoon's playfulness had taken a sharp left turn into despair. Not only would this ailment possibly cause its muscles to lock up, all the fun had been sucked out of the battle for the racoon dog, not enjoying this torment one bit. It didn't blame Denki entirely for its predicament, although they had been getting rather rough up until this point. Struggling to keep itself still in one place, Zigzagoon turned round to face Denki and Haley once more with dull carmine eyes, ragged ears laid flat against the side of its head. While not done purposely, it created a rather heart-tugging sight, the sad pout and fur jumping with static electricity.
But when Denki returned to his trainer's side, Zigzagoon's sadness gave way to a growing sense of both curiosity and apprehension. Haley had started the battle by trying to capture the Normal-type, and while Zigzagoon did not begrudge her for that, being subject to another attempt in its current state was not a happy thought. Body tensed in nervous anticipation, it watched the device soar through the air and bit out a quick yelp, the sound swallowed up as Zigzagoon was drawn into the ball.
Hitting the ground, it rocked erratically from side to side as its new occupant frantically tried to escape. Paralysis, however, made the process much smoother than before, and soon enough the ball made a resounding click. Following that noise was a loud crack, one that had Denki jumping. One of the eggs in Haley's possession had finally started to hatch, making a ruckus in her bag as spidery lines spread over the surface of the shell. Eventually it completely broke apart in a mess of shell fragments, revealing a small blue seahorse that poked its head out of the bag, wriggling about in obvious delight.

Haley crossed her fingers, shoving her hands into her pockets as she watched the Poke Ball fly, enveloping the Stunned Zigzagoon in a red beam of light. She did not, she swears she did not feel guilty from his guilty expression. The Poke Ball shook, little sparks flying off the containment capsule showing the Paralyzed state of its new occupant.
The trainer smirked, and Denki yipped, as the Poke Ball dinged, signifying the new status of the Pokemon within. Likewise, she could feel her Pokedex vibrate, wanting her to fill out her new Pokemon's information.
However, just as she reached for the object clipped to her belt, a crack made both trainer and Pokemon alike jump. She slung her knapsack into her arms, unzipping it in time to watch as fragments broke off an egg's shell, revealing the Horsea within. The girl slipped her arms in, and pulled out the slippery water-type, who wriggled erratically. “Calm, calm!” she called at not just the hatchling, but Denki, whom had bounded up against her and was sniffing the scaly Pokemon.
Her Pokedex vibrated once more, the sound making her jump. “Horsea: the Dragon Pokemon. Its big, developed fins move rapidly, allowing it to swim backward while still facing forward.”[/u][/i]
The trainer smirked, and recalled the Dragon Pokemon into a Poke Ball, quickly entering information for both Pokemon into Dexter. She crouched down and patted Denki's head in a congratulatory way, being rewarded with a slimy palm.
Haley ambled towards the Pokemon Center, and stopped inside. Here she sent Hippocampus, the Horsea, into the machine, as well as Ziggy, the Zigzagoon. She withdrew Tirrika, the Ekans she hadn't yet had the chance to train, and Avalanche the Quilava, much the same.
With her new team clipped to her belt, and Denki trotting at her side, Haley headed out of the Pokemon Center, down the dirt paths, and out into the lush grass of Route 30.

As Haley left the calmness of the streets of Cherrygrove, the wind picked up and sent dry leaves flying all over the place. not that it was that bad though, if you avoided getting them straight at your face, it was actually quite pretty. Quite a distance from the town, and from where Haley and Denki were at the moment, a flock of mareeps were traveling through the woods to get to this time of year's best grazing spot. The wind made the trees sway a bit and suddenly an old branch snaped and fell to the gorund with a lot of noise. It didn't hurt anyone, but it spooked the already nervous mareeps who scattered in all directions. Shortly after they slowly returned as there were no signs of danger, though they kept a good distance to the branch. They waited a bit in the area to let the last few members join them again, and got worried when one of the younger ones didn't. They started to call out and go around in the attempt to locate it, but to avail. They held a short meeting and decided to split up and try find it again, or at least what had happened to it. There weren't many predators around here and the few that could be dangerous to a young mareep usualy stayed inside the town. The young was taugh to stay away from there in a very young age, so no-one expected it to had gone there. That meant that the biggest threat to anyone out here, a threat they could do nothing about other than try to avoid, was human trainers. One of the bigger mareeps took the course that headed towards Cherrygrove, and even though it hadn't expected to find their missing friend, it was "lucky". The little mareep suddenly came dashing in panic with a Piegey following it rather calmly. It recognized its friend and hide behind it as the pidgey's human turned up and sent out a rattata and another weird looking pokemon, which was dark green and had two weird tusks stikking out of its mouth horizontantly. The battle was swift and the bigger mareep woke again when the small one nudged it and with a sigh it got back to its feet. The two of them started on their way back home, when another trainer, this one with a green and yellow dog at her feet appeared in front of them. With a grim expression, the older mareep stepped out to cover the smaller one, expecting the human to order an attack as soon as she noticed them. Mareep |level 8| and |level 6| has appeared. What will you do?

Haley scowled as she plodded through the grass, Denki at her side. She regretted leaving the dirt path, but no good Pokemon could be found there. The thick grass made her stumble and nearly fall, more than once being saved by the Electrike grabbing her by the back of her jacket. It was humiliating, and she sincerely hoped that nobody would walk by and see her in such a state. Why had she left her cane in her room in the Pokemon Center?!
The trainer tripped once more as a Rattata shot from the burrow near her foot, drawing the canine's attention. He pressed up against his trainer's leg to right her, and then leaped off, bounding after the rodent. It zigzagged, vanishing into another burrow right as he jumped, crashing muzzle first into the dirt. The Electrike dug for a moment but, when no Rattata appeared, he trotted back to the thief's side, forlorn. She patted his head, received a lick in return, readjusted her grip on the Pokemon Egg in hand, and began to walk once more.
The sound of a battle pricked Denki's ears, and he began to nudge her in that direction. By the time she was in earshot, it was nearly over. Still curious as to what might have caused the commotion, she kept walking.
The duo came upon a, rather scruffy looking, pair of Mareep. The larger of the electric sheep Pokemon looked fairly scuffed up, and it didn't take an Alakazam to figure out that it was the one that had caused the sounds. It clearly expected a battle, as it moved to cover the smaller, and visibly younger, Mareep.
Haley nodded her head, locking eyes with the elder, before turning back to Denki. He was poised, every muscles tense, ready to charge in at the slightest signal. His teeth gnashed slightly, but not for blood. Every pore was screaming 'herd them! Herd them! Herd them!' as his instincts came into play.
The trainer dropped her hand onto his shoulder blades, drawing his attention. He whined quietly when she shook her head, mouthing a 'no' and, despondent, trotted back to a good distance, laying down with his head on his paws. It was obvious that, if he could have, he would have been scowled.
She shook her head again, vaguely amused at his antics, before dropping her hands to the Poke Balls on her belt. Two loud 'clicks' were heard as she detached two Poke Balls from the utility-like belt, feeling the heat emanating off of one. The other, however, just felt like metal. They were tossed into the air once, as though she were weighing something in her mind, before she chucked them both into the air. With an audible noise red lights shot from both. One formed a horse-like monster, with flames in place of a mane and tail. The other created a larger than life snake, whom quickly coiled up, hissing low and rattling its tail.
“Sleipnir!” the call of his name drew the Ponyta's attention. He stomped a hoof and shook his head, flaring his flames to show he was ready for battle. “Use Flame Wheel on the older one!” A loud snorting sound, and his flames shot out, beginning to cover his body as he charged forward.
“Tirrika!” the Ekans hissed once more in acknowledgment. “Target the younger one! Let's start off with a Poison Fang!” It reared up, swaying from side to side like a cobra hypnotized by a snake charmer, acidic poison dripping from its maw.

The older mareep looked hopefully at Haley, when she stopped her 'wolf' from chasing them. Those wolves where eeeevil and always tried to herd them around in weird directions when humans were around, though it was better than when the humans weren't around, since they they would bite as well! Perhaps this human was a gentle one, who wouldn't attack every pokemon they saw, perhaps they would be able to get back to the herd safely and in one piece. It hope fell like a rock a moment later, when Haley called out not one, but two pokemon. That would make it even harder for it to keep the younger one safely away before they attacked them. "Stay behind me, and try get to the trees, if necessary..." The older mareep hesitated and couldn't hide its worried look, "You know the way back by yourself, right?"
The younger one stared at it with big eyes, before it slowly nodded. "You are going with me, aren't you?" It asked nervously and the older turned to look at it with a troubled look. "You are a big one, you know how the world works. I will do my best to go with you, but maybe the human will cat.." it started, but was interrupted as the fiery horse rammed into it and sent it tumbling over the ground and into a bush. "Noooo!" The younger one cried fearfully before something painfully hit it painfully. It stood confused and looked at the fourlegged flaming pokemon in front of it, while the world began to spin around before the darkness took over and it collapsed on the ground. It had been a really easy battle and Haley's pokemon had swept the floor without really getting any challenging. Perhaps it was a sign they were ready to continue, or perhaps it just meant it would be even easier for Haley to get any pokemon she wanted. The older mareep was out of sight, but the younger was laying nicely just where it had stood, wasy to hit with a pokeball, if Haley wished so.

The young trainer couldn't help but feel bad at the hopeful look she received from the elder Mareep. She was simply stopping one Pokemon from attacking them, only to send out her own. Her eyes followed the duo as they seemed to communicate, the younger looking nervous and, perhaps, fearful?
Sleipnir charged without warning, attacking the elder Mareep before it could get it's defense up. The war horse's flames grew, surrounding it until it appeared like a comet come to Earth, blazing across the short distance. His hoof beats were loud, thumping against the packed dirt easily, imprinting its shape into the ground. While Haley flinched as the electric type was easily knocked down, she couldn't help but feel proud and excited: her first battle with this fire-type, and it had taken its opponent down in a single hit. Granted, the Mareep had looked much weaker than he, but still!
Once more, the Mareep was taken off guard – this one the younger, however. Tirrika, her scales rasping against the leaves, had slipped forward, coiling and uncoiling as she made her way towards her 'prey', acidic venom dripping from her mouth and burning holes through the unfortunate leaves it landed on. As the Mareep was distracted by the defeat of its guardian, she struck, mouthing gaping as she lunged forward striking the electric type easily.
For a moment, Haley thought the Mareep would stand, remaining in battle while its elder could not. However, she was proven wrong as the sheep swayed, then crumpled to the ground. Tirrika looked hopefully at her master – she was ever so hungry and the sheep would feel nothing. But her hopes were dashed when Haley reached for a Poke Ball and lobbed it at the fainted Pokemon. It 'dinged', signaling her capture, and the sound was quickly echoed by her Pokedex. The white-haired girl took a moment to type in the sheep's name and, when the Enter button was pressed, the Poke Ball winked out of existence. Tirrika drooped, but looked back at her trainer.
Haley retrieved the Ponyta and Ekans' Poke Balls, and recalled the duo, thanking them for helping her. Denki remained faithfully at her side, pouting slightly, but trotted beside her nontheless, as they headed back out into the grass. The canid kept his nose to the air, hoping to scent out more sheep for him to chase and herd and nip and play with, but to no avail. He pouted more, drooping his ears and tail and staring steadfastly at the ground. Haley rolled her eyes at the Pokemon's antics, but didn't say a word.
Soon they arrived at a beautiful clear river, and she took a seat on a downed log nearby, watching the Pokemon play and flee as Denki charged into the water, sending it splashing everywhere. She couldn't help but to laugh; really, the Electrike was more like a Tauros in a curio's shop.

The wind continued to whirl everything around and sing with the loose leaves on the trees, sending them dancing around in the air, completely ignorant about the tragedy that had happened below them on the ground. But so was the way of pokemon. A young ralts were sneaking around inbetween the trees, careful not to be spotted as it knew what that would bring. Soemtimes the whole forest became overrung with hopeful trainers if the news got out, that someone had seen a ralts, or just thought he had. Not that it was much of a problem for ralts itself, since it could teleport away if anyone attacked it and they had yet to figure out how to find it afterwards. It was a bother for all other pokemon though, since so many more than the usual numbers of humans came to the area. It hid in a bush as a trainer in a cape-like coat walked past, his faithful herdier at his side. None of them noticed it as the wind blew away all chances for the dog to pick up its smell, and the ever-moving branches and leaves concealed its movement even for a trained eye. As it continued safely a faint cry caught its ear and it went upwind until it found its course. It was a mareep, beaten and burned though it couldn't be that bad as it was already up on its legs looking around. It looked really distressed though. The ralts looked around to make sure no trainers were nearby, before it stepped out to hear what was wrong. The story it was told by the mareep, saddened it as it had expected the mareep to be disappointed about not being captured and looking for the human it had battled. "The trainer has probably caught her," the ralts said apologizing and a shadow crept over the mareeps face. "I know, and if so then we can do nothing else than to hope it is a good human. But as long as I don't know, I cannot just leave and maybe abandon her somewhere out here!" It bleated so upset that the ralts promissed to help with the search. It's looking around soon took it to the area's small river, where she almost stepped right out in front of a human sitting peacefully at the edge watching her electrike chase away all other pokemon. It hid with a beating heart and mentally sent the mareep, who wasn't far away, a picture of the human. The flood of mixed feelings it got as answer, confirmed it was the right one, it had found. With a nervous gulp and a beating heart, it stepped out from its hidding place and focused on Denki. It was the one who was active and could be dangerous at the moment, it would take time for the trainer to call out another pokemon and order it to attack, and then the ralts would make sure to be long gone, mareep or not. "Hey you, have your trainer captured a little mareep a little while ago?" The ralts called out to the electrike. A Ralts |level 9| appears. Warning, teleport-knowing pokemon. What will you do?(ooc: I like that you actually kept the personality of the mareep ^^)

OOC: Thanks!
Haley sighed as she watched Denki play in the waters. She felt quite guilty for the state she had left she had left the elder electric type. It had seemed quite distressed in its efforts to protect the young one she now had a claim on. Hopefully Prometheus, as she had decided to name the sheep, would find friends and a family within her own crazy family. Perhaps, once they had bonded, she could bring her back to visit her old mentor.
She snorted as Denki shot into the air and slammed down, trying and failing to pin down a small Magikarp that had passed. It was rather amusing watching the dog play; they definitely needed some down time. Without a thought, she reached down and unclasped all the Poke Balls from her belt. Sleipnir was released first, the bullet proof war horse, as she liked to call him, taking a surveying glance before trotting over to some low-lying brush and beginning to eat. Taka was next, looking around as well and appearing quite pleased as he noticed that the ugly fire wyrm was not yet – and hopefully no longer – in view. He scampered happily over to Haley's side, dropping down to recline next to her, legs sprawled as he leaned against his hands. This was his big chance!
Avalanche formed, and lumbered over to a large, flat rock, scrambling up with the use of his claws to the top. He laid down on his stomach, crossed his forelimbs, and set his head upon them, looking out over everyone. Tirrika was last, the Ekans flicking her tongue out thrice before deciding it was safe and slithering up to Haley, coiling loosely around her. The trainer lifted the mysterious Pokemon Egg from her rucksack, setting it in her lap as she crossed her legs awkwardly, watching all her Pokemon enjoy their break.
Denki began to migrate away, playing further and further down the river, until he was out of sight of the rest of the team, as well as his trainer. She didn't worry; Denki was loyal to a fault, and would for sure return soon.
The Electrike soon noticed another Pokemon, looking up from his attempts to dig in shallows of the river. “Hello! Hello hello hello!” he greeted, wriggling from side to side excitedly. A new friend! Yay! He cocked his head at its question, not noticing the sparks that resulted from his quick movements. “A Mareep? You mean the fluffy, sheep-y thing? I love those, they're fun to chase and herd and nip and play with! My trainer caught one, yes, a little lamb! Prometheus, she called her!”

The older mareep hurried through the undergrowth, equally worried and hopeful for what had happened with its young flock member. Was she alright? Had the human taken her or was she running around all on her own somewhere? The mareep forced its way through a bush, which branches grabbed its wool and tried to hold it back. An unlucky weedle got a few unintentional zaps as the mareep pulled itself free and continued towards its new found friend, without noticing the little bug. The ralts had moved a bit away from the human when it had sent the picture to the mareep. No need to get her attention and risk capturing itself, if she hadn't caught the one they were looking for. One of the trainer's pokemon were moving away along the stream and the ralts saw a chance to get some answers without having to show itself for the trainer. It followed Denki until the electric dog was out of sight of his team and trainer, then it contacted him and stepped out where he could see it. It back nervously away when Denki leaped towards it to say hi. He was obviously friendly but perhaps a bit too boistrous and and eager, which made the ralts nervous and a bit scared for the big dog. "So she has one?" The ralts asked nervously and moved a bit to the side to avoid one of the sparks which sprung from the electrike. If it didn't calm down soon, it would have to leave to avoid getting roasted. "How did was she caught? And are you chasing her around all the time? What are she saying to that?" The ralts asked and had to fight itself to avoid running away, it needed the answers for its mareep friend. It shook as one of the smaller sparks brushed it, it tickled in an unpleasant way, but it stayed to hear the answers. "Calm down, or else you will..." the ralts started but a bit too late as a several of the bigger sparks hit it and it disappeared in a blink of an eye. The ralts stood shakingly leaned up against a tree, when the older mareep caught up with it. The ralts told what it had heard and the older mareep got quite upset. "It can't be true, I need to be sure!" The mareep excalimed and wanted to hurry out to meet Denki, who wasn't far away. They could see him through the trees, though they were still fairly hidden by the undergrowth. "No wait, he will just start chasing you too," the ralts said and held out a hand to stop the mareep, but quickly withdraw its hand as a tiny spark jumped from the wool to it, when it got too close.

Denki bounced happily, wiggling his entire body as though dancing, not noticing his new 'friends' discomfort. “We were walking and we found her and another one who was bigger and I think was older but I'm not sure! I wanted to play but my master wouldn't let me and sent out Snake-lady and fire-deer! She calls them Tirrika and Sleipnir but I think they're Snake-lady and fire-deer!” he huffed and shook himself as though annoyed, “Snake-lady used poison tooth which makes this drizzly stuff drip off her fangs; I tried to lick it once and it burned! Fire-deer lit himself on fire, he's crazy by the way, and ran at them. I dunno who hit who, but the bigger sheep was sent flying and the littler one was left behind. Master caught the littler one a'cause she felt bad for her I think.” The wolf-like Pokemon frowned. “I haven't seen sheep-lady since, Master sent her to the field where we get to play and chase and hunt and eat before Master needs us!” he spun in a circle. “I like it there, the nice man with the funny things around his eyes feeds us a lot, and there are others like me to play with, and there's a huuuuge lake, and-” he broke off, staring at the spot where the Ralts had been. Denki whined low, and looked around, but couldn't scent out the vanished Pokemon. Head low, he slunk back to Haley and her posse. Sad, he flopped down and dropped his head into her lap. She began to pet his head, confused as to what the morose mutt could have gotten into in the few minutes he was away. Mentally she shrugged, and pushed him off to stand up. He whimpered, but stood as well, leaning against her. The young trainer whistled loudly, drawing her Pokemons' attention. Denki looked up at her and Taka, who'd been beside her as well, simply stared at her. Sleipnir turned from where he'd been grazing, and trotted to her, standing before her. Avalanche leaped down from his perch, waddling up besides her. Tirrika slithered over, coiling up and looking annoyed. Haley grabbed her Pokemon's Poke Balls and recalled them, sliding the Egg into her backpack. She planned on making a quick trip to the Pokemon Center, depositing several Pokemon, retrieving others, and heading to the next city over: Violet City, home of the Flying-type Gym Leader, Falkner.
