With the grimers' focus still completely centered on the big blue wailing pokémon the trainers were left free to do as they would without risk of getting a poison status themselves. Likely for the best, as the polluted ooze rippling rainbow shades of sickening hues along the water's surface didn't look fun to contend with. Surely Quagsire could attest to that. Of who let another pained cry and attempted the laziest paddle with one of its arms and a swish of is tail to get away from its attackers, but there was no chance of escaping with such a pitiful motion. Even with the momentary distraction supplied by the trainer pokémon standing at the edge of the water. Cyan unleashed another spout of clean water to splash against the closest Grimer whilst Budew attempted to direct a cloud of paralytic spores onto the one grimer hanging out in the back. Unfortunately just as the stun spore was about to reach its target the wild grimer disappeared into the goop to inch closer to the Quagsire. However, as the rush of water came up on the forward grimer it halted its motion, causing the second poison type to bump into its ally and get nowhere. The surprise from the side and behind caused the first grimer to lose its composure. It remained on the spot and shuddered as its status effect gripped its slimy body. Quagsire let out a quick chirp of relief as it was spared a round of pounding. It nibbled on its leftovers as the poison continued to make its stomach churn. Cyan and Budew, too, were going to take advantage of the paralyzed grimer. With a combination of their attacks they singled out the target and powered it down. Grimer let out a gurgled cry as it sunk into the polluted waters and didn't rise back up. Instead, the last grimer standing in the fray shimmied up beside Quagsire and brought down its gooey fist. "Look, it worked," Exclaimed Astrid when the paralysis halted the attacking grimer and even slowed down the other one.
"Go on Cyan! You can do it!" Astrid called encouragingly to her mudkip, and this time her happiness was sincere. She now believed they would have a chance if they managed to time things right.
"Yes! Well done you two! Well done! Only one more to go!" Astrid cheered for the two fighters as the grimer disappeared into the slug and only one remained.
Now she dared to believe they did not only had a chance, but would actually win this. She refused to worry if others should pop up from the sludge and attack.
"We're going to pull through, I'm sure of it!" Astrid told Megan eagerly and patted her on the shoulder, before becoming somber again.
"We just need to be careful not throwing it all out of the window now," Astrid warned, just as much herself and she narrowed her eyes at the quagsire. It looked like it did alright for now.
"Alright Cyan, wash that last one away as well. Give it a good powerful water gun and save the day!" Astrid called to Cyan who eagerly did as he was told.

Megan pumped her fist in the air and hollered as another Grimes was down! “We got this!” She said enthusiastically knowing that their little rag tag team had a chance and actually cleaning up the nasty mess.
”Budew, use a Stun Spore on that Grimer to help out Cyan” Megan directed hoping that a little paralysis would help the situation.

Budew hummed determinedly, eyes narrowing in on the final grimer still beating away at the poor quagsire. With a quick breath the grass type spurred up another go of paralytic spores and sent them spewing forth across the pond. This time luck was not on the poisonous goo's side. The cloud of yellow settled over Grimer and sunk into its porous self. For a moment the wild pokémon stuttered, passing those standing at the water's edge a hateful glare, but resumed to focusing on the big blue pokémon wailing beside it. Next was Cyan's turn. Another spurt of fresh water erupted from his maw and splashed onto the last opponent. Grimer rolled over with the force, churning into the murky water. But it didn't stay gone. It quickly formed back up by Quagsire's side and delivered another fist. The water pokémon whimpered, then nibbled more on the apple core still clutched in its hands. With its tail it attempted to paddle through the water. It was about all it could do, though the going was slow thanks to all the muck. "Alright, time to do something about that poison once more," decided Astrid when the Quasire whimpered.
"Here, I hope that can cleanse its body a bit," Astrid said as she handed Megan a bottle of Fresh Water and directed her at the suffering Quagsire. She herself took a full heal to try negate as much as the poison as possible, they clearly needed some stronger remedies if the quagsire was going to pull through.
"We need to get it out of that pool of sludge, but it is too dangerous before the living slime is gone," thought Astrid aloud.
"Cyan! Back!" Exclaimed Astrid then suddenly at her young mudkip, who had ventured a bit too close to the edge and the poison to her comfort. Cyan jumped back startled.
"Do not get too close little one, or else you get sick as well. Stay at a distance, yes that is fine, and use your Water gun to cleanse the river and help the quagsire," told she her mudfish pokemon, who determined shot water at the grimer, after having retreated to a safe distance.
(ooc: gives Megan a Fresh Water and Astrid takes a Full Heal to be used on Quagsire. Next round Cyan attacks with Watergun)

As the yellow dust of the stun powder settled over the Grimer Megan felt a sense of hope that they would actually be able to help the gentle Quagsire and clean the water around the Cherrygrove area!
Astrid handed Megan a bottle of fresh water and she clutched a full-heal. Megan cracked the top off of the water bottle and hoped she would be able to get it to the Quagsire so it could cleanse it's body from the nasty murky water that it as currently attempting to swim in.
As Cyan tried to follow it's owner towards the water and Astrid directed it to stay back Budew ran over to it's new friend and stood by it chatting about how this was so terrible and how it was just awful how the Quagsire was suffering, or so Megan thought as she looked over to her little pokemon.
Budew joined Cyan in an attempt to sap more of the Grimers energy with an absorb but also an attempt to keep its own spirits up.

Despite all the frustration of being stuck in the grody water, Quagsire at least had the hope and momentary relief constantly provided by the pair of trainers doing everything they could on the shore. The gentle pokémon was attempting to get closer to them, and had made a little progress, but it wasn't near enough to get rid of the persistent poison pokémon. Thankfully, though, it was enough to make it easier for Astrid and Megan both to reach out and provide some support while their faithful companions did what they could against the remaining grimer. The full heal spray made the rolling of Quagsire's stomach subside if even for just a moment, and the fresh water was swiftly gobbled down; the plastic bottle being spit back onto shore. So refreshing! If it wasn't for the pound of the grimer immediately following the water pokémon could've forgotten all of its woes. Quagsire yelped, then paused to once again get back to nibbling on its leftover apple. At least there was some retribution in the form of a torrent of water and energy sapping. Both attacks landed quite forcefully on the trailing grimer, knocking a decent bit of wind from the sludge pokémon. However, it still kept coming. Morphing through the polluted water to pull up and land another angry pound on the quagsire. Item in Stock: None Budew | LV 10 | Natural Cure Status: +1 ATK & SP ATK Megan used Fresh Water!

Astrid found it hard to reach the quagsire, although she was happy to see it had understood they were trying to help it, and had done what it could to make it easier for them. She managed to apply the full heal and watched as Megan gave it the water and smiled sadly at how greedingly it drank it.
She picked up the empty water bottle as it threw it onto dry land. Even though the area was horrible polluted she saw no reason to make it worse, even if it wouldn't be a noticeable one.
She was about to return to her trolley to place the bottle back, but paused as the pokemon attacked and she narrowed her eyes at how it was knocked back.
"Did it not look like it had trouble getting back and attacking?" Asked Astrid Megan anxious, as she dearly hoped it was so and this was soon over. She still refused to worry about others appearing from the sludge. She worried how long they were able to keep up as it had been a close call a couple of time by now.
"You are doing great Cyan! Come one! Do it again!" Called Astrid to the mudkip, who answered eagerly much to Astrid's surprise. He seemed more confident than before.
Cyan dug his feet into the soil and took a deep breath, before he shot a water gun with all what he got.
"I do really hope this is it, Megan. I'm not sure how much more I have brought along," Astrid said with a little smile to the other woman.
"If it is, then what do we do?" She then asked with a hope Megan had the answer.

The Quagsire looked to be feeling better after the trainers help to it. The last Grimer was still hanging on but it looked like the ladies would be able to finish it off and start to get the waters clean and pure again.
Megan had hoped the Stun spore had taken effect but it looked like the Grimer had no ideas of slowing down until it was done.
"Okay, Budew I think one more absorb will help finish of this last one. We can do it!" Megan cheered on!
Megan looked to Astrid at her question "I don't know what's next, maybe head back to town? I guess we'll figure it out when it's over."

One final combined attack did it. Grimer sank into the water with the other three and quagsire was finally free to slowly make its way out of the mucky water and make it to shore. The big blue pokémon pulled itself out and shook itself off, gulping down the rest of its apple with a happy chirp. It was still looking a little worse for wear, and the pollution was still leaking out into the water from the station upriver, but now at least things were looking up for Blue Moon Falls and its inhabitants. Despite still feeling a little ailed Quagsire clapped its hands to cheer for its two saviors while waddling forward. It reached around its back and from somewhere the gentle pokémon pulled forth a pair of round items, one in each hand, offering one to each Astrid and Megan. It seemed it wanted to give its thanks! A few moments later, after the rewards were taken and Quagsire had shuffled off to rest comfortably under the shade of near tree, a man came down the pathway in a hurry. He too looked a bit roughed up and was dressed in a green jumpsuit; like a plantation worker. He carried a worried expression with him, but as he got closer to the falls his visage turned more into a relieved smile. "Hey there! You, you kids! You saved that quagsire, thank you so much. It's no secret that us in Cherrygrrove highly respect these pokémon so here," he trailed off and pulled out two TM disks. He offered one to each of the girls with another heart felt thank you. "We're working on fixing up the pollution at the plant," he continued, absentmindedly rubbing at his wrists. It was notable there were some red marks as if left by a rope. "Some blasted Rockets infiltrated the Chemical Plant a few days ago and caused all this terrible pollution. Now that we've gotten free though we should get all the water cleaned up and safe in no time!"The worker looked to quagsire again, sighing in relief. "A nurse is already on the way here to take care of all the pokémon here. Thank you two again."
Congratulations!All wild Pokemon have been defeated and the Quagsire has been saved!
Astrid and Megan assisted the residents of Cherrygrove City with finding the problem to the pollution!  Cyan grew to LV 14 and gained +1 Happiness! (+2) Cyan can learn Foresight; forget an old move? Cyan stayed where he was without removing his eyes from where the grimer had disappeared. When a hand was placed on his back he jumped startled, but it was just Astrid.
"Well done Cyan, you two did it, you have won," praised Astrid and smiled to Budew as well. They had really worked hard and came out successful on the other side.
"Look, the quagsire is happy for your help as well," pointed she out as the weakened water type clapped after having got up from the water.
"It would not have made it, if it had not been for you two," continued Astrid and Cyan giggled bashfully, not used to be the one who saved the day but happy for the praise nonetheless.
Astrid was about to get back on her feet again, when she noticed something in the poisonous slime, that looked a bit differently. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously and found a pokeball which she carefully pressed against the lump. It was sucked into the pokeball and it made a confirming "ding" when the grimer was caught.
Astrid frowned as she tried to see if there were more in the sludge, but she couldn't distinguish any, which she found worrying.
A voice called out to them and stopped Astrid's train of thoughts. She managed to get up from her lowered position and turned to the newcomer.
She raised an eyebrown when he called her a kid as well, and didn't correct himself when he surely saw his mistake.
She accepted the TM a bit baffled, and she would have protested against it if she had got distracted by his mention of Team Rocket. Those guys again, they seemed to be everywhere at the moment!
"It is good to hear, I hope you are all alright as well," she said to the worker with a faint smile. She felt for them if they had been held captive for several days, somebody had to do something about this.
"By the way, I think there are still some grimers in the sludge there. I at least has captured something when I checked it out, but there were four in total, and I have only found one," Astrid warned. It would be bad if they got attacked while they attempted to clean up. The grimers did not fit into this habitat so they needed to find and remove as many of them as possible.
"Megan, I can't really say that this has been a pleasure, not with all those dangers, but I am grateful that you were willing to stay to the end and work so hard. You and Budew that is, I could not have done this on my own, especially not with my bad legs," thanked Astrid and chuckled at her own last remark.
"But if everything will be taken care of, I will excuse myself and return to the city. Honestly this adventure has exhausted me and I really need to sit down and probably fall asleep unwillingly," she winked and with that she said her goodbyes to the other.
If Megan wanted to join her on the trip back to Cherrygrove, she would be welcomed with open arms.

When the last Grimer fell into the water and did not get back up Megan knew that they had just won! With an elated whoop, and a grin she could not remove from her face as she looked to the Quagsire, to Bud and then Astrir several times not knowing how to further express her excitement. She watched as the Quagsire pulled itself to shore and shook itself off, finishing off the rest of its apple with a happy chirp. Megan took in the rest of the site around her knowing that the area was still a mess and it was going to be a time before it was clean and truly beautiful again.
The Quagsire moved towards Megan and Astrid and somehow produced a couple of round objects to each of them and Megan took it graciously not really sure what else to do other than wanting to make sure that the Quagsire was going to be alright, and from the looks of it it was.
As the Quagsire had moved off to the shade of a tree after having thanked the two woman a mans voice was heard, his green jump suite was hard to miss.
Budew was resting at Megan's feet as the man spoke, thanking them for saving the Quagsire and producing a couple of TMs for the both of them. He explained what was going on at the plant and it looked like he had been in trouble himself by the way he kept rubbing some irritated parts of his wrist, mentioning rocket Megan grimaced. Those good for nothing gang members.. he thanked them again and said a nurse was on the way. Megan nodded, smiled and turned to Astrid, "It's been a pleasure working with you as well Astrid, and Cyan." Megan said directing her head to the little Mudkip. "Please, if we ever run into each other again on our travels never be a stranger" Megan said with a grin and a chuckle. "Take care of youselves!" She said and waved as Astrid and Cyan left for Cherrygrove.
"Well Bud, I believe it is time we head back to the city as well, it seems as though everyone here has everything taken care of! Good day." She said to the plant worker as she picked up Budew and began heading back to Cherrygrove Budew in her arms.
