Guide Gent's House Video courtesy of Tyger . Running Shoes Info:
Wanting to live life in the fast line? Battles taking far too long? Needing to maximise the time spent training your Pokémon? Well, we've got your Running Shoes right here. By using these nifty sneakers, you'll be able to command two moves to your Pokémon in a battle against NPCs! Just remember the risk, it means your opponent also gets two turns and there's no way of knowing in advance what the opponent will do in the extra turn you take. This is limited to once per battle so time it and use it wisely! Cannot be used with a switch/attack or item/attack combo. All you have to do is leave an OOC note in your post stating the running shoes have been used and work in the two attack orders in your roleplay. More info can be found here. Simply roleplay below stating how your character obtains the running shoes and a member of staff will update your inventory.

Cherrygrove was a whole different experience in the summer; even though Damien seemed unable to avoid visiting it during rain or hail storms. The flowers didn't seem to mind though. All the vibrant variance of colors swishing this way and that with the wind and water slapping against the petals. Though I'm sure even they would appreciate it if the hail relented. Sadly the actual 'fragrance' of the city was dulled due to the weather, instead the smell of recycled water and wet grass dominated. The outdoors at least, indoors shops were bustling with people itching to get out of the house and socialize and the particular place the ranger had settled himself was a café; making for quite the array of pleasant aromas. He was fairly familiar with a few of the residents due to the time he was holed up in town in the winter season due to, you guessed it, storms and the onset of a cold. This time though Bearithusa wasn't rifling through everyone's stuff and causing undue mischief, which made it a little less stressful. No, this time he was able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere and warm beverages while conversing with local acquaintances and other trainers drawn in from the cold stones pelting everything outside. One man in particular had the ears of many trainers. An older gentlemen with a friendly voice and infectious chortle. Damien found himself drawn to the little group forming around his table to hear a great tale about a Quagsire and a lost Mareep. The ranger recognized this man from his time investigating the Water Pollution in town. Even then the elder was very helpful, and now, listening to all his stories gave Damien more insight on just how experienced he was. After a while the guide gent's throat was dry and sides sore from all the entertaining and he had to call it a day, however, he was still full of energy. The man asked his audience how well they knew Cherrygrove. Most admitted their lack of familiarity, at which the older man slapped his knee and told everyone they should see him tomorrow for a tour; as surely the storm would have run its course by then. Many of the trainers thanked the man but stated they needed to get going on their journey once the storm had passed. Damien, though, was more than up for a tour from this knowledgeable man. The night passed, leading to morning, and Damien met the Guide Gent outside of the Pokémon Center to begin. It was obvious that he loved this town. He noted every little thing with excited cheer, never failing to mention how it could be useful whether it be shortcuts through town or useful tidbits that could be used along the routes between towns. The man was a wealth of knowledge and a kind soul. It took a couple hours but eventually the tour came to an end. Before Guide Gent could be thanked however he gave a broad smile and pulled out pairs of running shoes. At first it was a bit weird, Damien not knowing how to respond to such a gift. But the man was beyond thoughtful, offering them up as a simple thanks for the kids entertaining him. Well that was backwards wasn't it? The ranger gave ample thanks in return for everything on top of the shoes. Damien receives Running Shoes!

It had been a while since Joey had ventured to Cherrygrove. The last time he was here, he had been chased out by the local policy on the account of his law breaking activities. Not that he was doing anything really shady but it just seemed like the police and him didn't see eye to eye. For all intents and purposes, he would have preferred to keep away in case they were still on high alert. After all, he had been aware of some rather slanderous looking posters being put up bearing his likeness. Or not. The picture was completely off. Having heard a rumour from a nearby town on Rocket grunts appearing in the area, he decided to check it out. Keeping to the shadows of nearby alleyways situated through Cherrygrove's inner city, he had Hoodlum in tow. " Pst! Hood! Break a leg will ya! We ain't got all day to saunter about. If Rockets are up to somethin' we gotta rain on their parade. And by rain, I mean whup their arse." Shuffling over, the eager albeit simple Scrafty kissed his teeth. " Yo, yo, yo, immah go seven three oh so dat dese Rockets be a one eight seven. HOLLLLLLAAAAAA!" Wincing, Joey motioned a hush with his finger and moved on over to the next alleyway over. Getting closer and closer into a communal park like area surrounded by a row of resident houses, Joey could see some figures meeting up at the centre of this park. " Huh... They're in casuals but I wonder. Guess we gotta scope. C'mon, we'll park up here and watch. C'mon" Hiding behind some bushes, Joey cemented himself in for the long haul. Hoodlum on the other hand was a bit more distracted. Turning around from the bush they were hiding in, he saw an elderly fellow snoozing on his front porch. He wouldn't have given it a second thought but sitting on the front steps of the house were a pair of expensive looking trainers. The Pokemon's face lighting up, he meandered on over to appraise them. " Sweet. Sum fresh new kicks huh Jack? Holla back son." Looking up, the man appeared to still be snoring. Picking up the sneakers and admiring them, it was obvious Hoodlum was taken with them. " Awww yis, dese be balla. YO HOMEBOI. Hook a nigga up, na mean, y'word." Looking up with the running shoes in his hands, Hoodlum blinked as the guide gent appeared to mumble something in his sleep. Somehow understanding that as a "Yes, by all means Hoodlum, please take these running shoes for yourself for being the most O.G. Pokemon this side of Johto." Sporting a cheery grin and flashing off his fake gold tooth, Hoodlum bopped his head and thanked him. " YO! Gramp-dawg, we is tight. Throw out tha tims in for sum kicks. Mad props, yo. HOLLLAAAAA! Peace out." Walking off with the shoes in hand, it seemed the guide gent was none the wiser that a gangsta talking Scrafty had just made off with their running shoes. Returning back to Joey, the biker looked over his shoulder. " Where the hell did you go? Looks like this might be them." Turning back to observe the crowd, he turned back again as he recalled seeing Hoodlum with the shoes. " And where the hell did you get those from?! Nevermind, we best make our appearance." Ray had heard from a friend about the old man that gave Running Shoes to the trainers he gave tours around town to and was interested to say the least. What made it all the better was the fact that he just so happened to be hunting for a final party member in the very town said old man was giving those tours in. Ray and Skull Kid approached the old man as he was sleeping between tours. "Uh," Ray said, trying to subtly wake up his tour guide, "I can see you're tired, but I was wondering if you could give me one of your tours of town? Sir?" Skull Kid found this interaction quite boring and decided to speed up the process by swiping the chair the old man was resting on from under him. The Guide crashed to the floor and awoke with a start. "Oh Yen Sid," Ray said, helping the old man up, "I am so sorry about that. I don't know what got into him." "No need for apologies," The Guide Gent said, laughing wistfully, "I'm alright. I take it you're here for the tour?" Ray nodded his head during his scolding of Skull Kid to indicate he was indeed there for the tour. "Normally, I'd be more than happy to get started," the Guide Gent said, "but you happen to come by on my day off. However, to show there's no hard feelings for earlier, I'll give you these so you can look around yourself." The old man handed Ray a pair of Running Shoes and went back to sleep. Ray was a bit confused by the whole situation, but decided to let things be and headed off back to Route 30 with Skull Kid grumbling behind him.

Martin Growth GardenerAll things considered, Martin was in luck. Not only had he made it back to Cherrygrove a little wiser on Pokemons' strenght and weaknesses, he had also hooked a job fast. The pay was on the low side, but the work was steady and stretched out for several days, leaving Martin with a roof over the head and food on the table every day while it lasted. The old guy, who had hired him, needed a new terrace. The old extention to his porch, looked older than the guy himself, and several stones were cracked or crooked. Beside the terrace he also wanted a path laid in the lawn, leading from the porch to the gate at the front of the house. It was heavy work, and took a considerable amount of planning and budgeting of both money and materials. Martin and his team of Pokemon did most of the heavy part, dug out to the path, and straightened up the base layer for the terrace. While they waited for the ordered stones to arrive, they weeded the rest of the garden, cropped the bushes, and renewed the herbaceous border with a couple of new additions to the plant life. As usual Martin kept Dros and Juun close, so they could learn everything properly. Though Juun wasn't exactly to be part of his Garden Team, the work out was good for her discipline and movement control. Martin had opted out of taking Thief and Tergi. They hadn't a use in this, and both had a tendency for making trouble, which Martin wasn't interested in at the moment. He was trying to built a reputation of being reliable and serious in his work. Instead he had taken Sam, the Cherubi, to manage the plant part of things along with Dros, and Skarn as the usual waste disposer. To help with the stones he had taken Phyllis and the Espurr. The combined forces of the Pancham's brute strength, and the Espurr's mind tricks worked splendid to lie the stones in perfect place. And the Espurr seemed less stressful under the 'manual' labour, than its few encounters with battles. In the days that passed Martin felt something along the lines of peace settle over him, and he almost grew to respect his client, as the old Gent always valued and considered Martin's suggestions to the work and garden. It even got that far, that Martin ran a couple of errands for the man, when he was busy with his own work. Martin hadn't really been interested in, what the guy did for a living, but one day he saw the fellow touring town with a crowd of people in tow. Martin thought he had seen everything there was to see of Cherrygrove, but when he followed the crowd, he discovered, he hadn't seen anything at all. The old man was a guide, and he was animated and fun, telling the stories he knew of the places around town. Martin returned to the house, and went back to his work on the terrace, the stones having arrived the day before. He might be able to finish that same day, or the day after. And then there were only the final touches left. The next day, as Martin scrubbed his hands clean of dirt and dust, the old Gent came up to him with a box in hand. "I know we've already settled on a price for all your work," the man started, and Martin looked at him with curious eyes. "But I couldn't help but notice you only always run about in your working shoes, and that can't be comfortable." Martin looked down at his dusty shoes, that was really more boots than shoes. The man opened the box, and revealed a set of shining new running shoes. "Would you please consider taking these as an added bonus?" Martin considered it as asked, and then nodded his agreement. He could probably discolour them later, so they weren't quite as neon-y. An extra pair of shoes wasn't bad at all. Running Shoes obtained

After parting from the sickly Bug Catcher, Catherine continued making her way back toward Goldenrod City. With her hands behind her back and head in the clouds, the girl seemed to have something on her mind, meaning that Atlas had to pay close attention to his surroundings, to ensure the girl wouldn't bump into any trouble. "Hmm! Poor Kent! It must be so sad... But he doesn't have to worry! I'll totally help him collect all of those Vivillon and Kendra will help me!... A-And everyone else too, of course!" Getting a gentle jab from Atlas, who wasn't too fond of being left out of the picture, the two giggled at one another, thus missing the fact that someone came right around the corner, causing the two to crash. "O-Ouch!!" "AAH!" Wincing her eyes, Catherine slowly peered up at the slightly taller girl she had bumped into. Clad in black with long, wild hair, the brunette sent the small girl a glare. "Oh! I'm ever so sorry!" However, the brunette merely continued on, waving a hand in the air back to Catherine and speaking out in a disinterested tone. "Nevermind, Just watch where you are going next time." Parting ways, Catherine watched the girl walk off slack jawed, only turning to Atlas once she was out of sight. "You know... That logo on her clothes looked familiar!"
Shrugging her shoulders, the girl continued on into the city of Cherrygrove, where she soon spotted an elderly gentleman standing outside of the local Pokemon Centre. About to go in and rest up, he seemed to try and grab her attention, introducing himself as Guide Gent, his job being to guide people around Cherrygrove to get a better understanding of the city. Despite the fact that she had already been to the city before, she accepted his tour and slowly followed him to take in the sights and the sounds. Actually learning a bit more than she thought that she would, Catherine thanked the man before being given a pair of Running Shoes to help her with her journey. Although they were in her size and very comfortable looking, they didn't quite go with her outfit but atleast she had a spare should she ever need them!
Having dashed away from the girl who had bumped into her, Sharada paced with a hand across her chest, hoping that the girl hadn't seen the fact that she was a Rocket. She had been so careful in trying to avoid people spotting her but even going around the outskirts of town hadn't meant that bumping into people was impossible. Quite literally, in their case. Moving towards a more shady district where alley ways seemed endless, Sharada met back up with her partner, Tenebrae, after parting from him to run a small errand. "Hmph, it's just one lackey job to the next in this group sometimes. Why was I pulled from training just to collect a shipment of new uniforms?!" Growling between her clenched teeth, Sharada looked into a crate which held new male and female uniforms, including boots, gloves and belts. "I guess these boots are starting to wear themselves down, I needed a new pair."
Sharada and Catherine obtained Running Shoes.

Some time ago in Cherrygrove City, Alex was helping this elderly man nicknamed Guide Gent. He wasn't sure if this man tours people for a living, or as a hobby. Either way, he knew Cherrygrove by heart, and knew about the history of this humble city for as long as he lived, probably. Or even longer. Sometimes he would tour a single person, sometimes a group. Either way, the day when Alex helped him, he was just helping to distribute running shoes to a group of kids traveling in group. All he did was helped give the kids their running shoes in the right size. And at the end of the event, even he and other volunteers were given a shoes! Such a nice man!
While he was in Cherrygrove, Ethan did some morning runs with this Pokemon. During his running days in the beachside city, he noticed this elderly man who seemed to be well, either walking or touring people around the city. He found this a little peculiar, but as he was running, he just kept smiling at the man and moved on. Sometimes though, he did go to a breakfast shop for tea and breakfast. On one of the days after his morning run, he was drinking tea and eating waffles when he also spotted the man in the same shop. So apparently, his name is Guide Gent. After talking to regulars in the cafe, the man came over and offered him a pair of shoes if Ethan would meet later by his house. The trainer was confused, but took up the man's suggestion, while being cautious. Thankfully, it did turned out that Guide Gent had good intentions and wasn't inviting him over for free shoes and for strange intentions.
Being new to traveling, Penelope was glad to have heard Nurse Joy talking to another trainer about Guide Gent, who would offer generous tour of the city. Timing herself to not miss the next scheduled guided tour, Penelope joined a group of other trainers and travelers for this tour, and when it was done, the man handed everyone a pair of fitted running shoes! Sweet! Penelope thanked the older man and made sure to put the running shoes to good use, like going outdoor more!

Maxwell king » OOC: Run, Maxwell, Run! Maxwell had returned Crimson, Anubis and Hope to rest in their pokeballs as he picked up the pace to escape the wild weather by reaching Cherrygrove City. It was just Maxwell's luck to have been caught outdoors and the weather to turn on its head, what really grinded the male young adult's gears wasn't because his clothes were drenched but instead because his shoes looked like mud boots as he had to trudge through puddles of muddy water to get where he wanted to go.
As Maxwell arrived in Cherrygrove he headed straight towards the nearest Pokemon Center, it would provide him sufficient shelter until the wild weather passed. Just as Max was about to enter the red roofed building he was spoken to by an old man standing under the awning of the Pokemon Center. The old man introduced himself as Gent, a tour guide of Cherrygrove City. Guide Gent had noticed that Max's shoes were in a terrible state, if he were to enter the building trudging mud all around the place it was likely that Nurse Joy would not be pleased. To avoid this situation from happening Guide Gent gifted Max a pair of running shoes that he could keep and wear, a very nice gesture from someone who only a few seconds ago was a complete stranger to him. Before heading indoors, Maxwell shook Guide Gent's hand to show his gratitude towards the old man's kindness,
"Thank-you sir, I'll make the most of them!"

Grabbing shoes for Justin, Rhoan and Sam Revisiting Cherrygrove had done wonders for Justin thus far. After trekking all the way to Ecruteak, it was nice to just sit back and relax. No worries about anything, except... well, anything that he made a problem himself. The worry wart seemed to be doting on an older man that was giving away advice to some younger, fresher trainers. However, with it being a bit hot in the Summer, Justin would occasionally bring him water and something from that bakery down the lane just to keep his sugar up. Everything he was saying to the trainers was something Justin knew, so why did he keep hanging around?
Either way, when the day winded down to an end, the elder gentlemen beckoned Justin over to speak with him. Hopping over, the gent began to give Justin some advice, and the grown man had to sit and take it while the elder continued to dote on how to catch a Pokemon and the like. It wasn't until the routine was done that the elder man smiled, obviously putting Justin through that as a joke. When Justin finally realized it, he began to laugh along the Guide Gent. The man offered him a new pair of shoes, which Justin tried to decline... thrice... but eventually he gave into peer pressure and took them to be kind to the old man. "It was nice speaking with you! Thanks again! Justin smiled. Why he felt like he needed to watch the old man was beyond him, but at least he got some new shoes out of it?

| | Skulking about, Rhoan cursed to herself as she glanced back at the mission in her hand. Steal a pair of expensive shoes from old man in Cherrygrove. Goes by moniker of 'Guide Gent.' Very friendly. "Why in the hell am I stealing a pair of shoes? What does this have to do with anything?" She grumbled to herself, waiting until the cover of night to sneak into his house and steal the kickers. If these were so important, why send her? Proving herself further? Bah, it didn't matter. This was dumb and she felt like she was being made fun of for even taking this mission.
"Good thing old men sleep like rocks." She shrugged, approaching the man's house. Through the window to his bedroom she could see a pair of expensive looking shoes off on the other side of the wall. Quietly releasing Reaver, her Joltik, she pried the window open ever so slightly to let the little Joltik through. Rhoan was too big to navigate the room quietly, and as silly as a mission it was, the last thing she wanted to do was royally screw it up. She didn't want to hit the old man to knock him out if she didn't have to.
Reaver used some spiderweb to pull the shoes off the wall and drug them across the floor quietly, using extra webbing to cushion their fall. When she drug them over to the window, Rhoan opened it just enough to pull the kicks out. Shutting the window behind her, Rhoan rolled her eyes and glanced at the shoes. "Rockets looking for shoes. Isn't this a headline?" |
Although she was further along in her journey than Cherrygrove, turning back to train this mysterious Horsea meant she was back in the lower level Pokemon areas. Hungry for knowledge and wisdom as ever, it didn't take long for Sam to get sucked into one of the Guide Gent's 'classes' about catching, training, and raising Pokemon. A little notepad in hand, Sam wasted no time writing down the notes and important bits from the lesson, thanking the old man profusely for his assistance in her journey.
"I'm still pretty new, although I have two badges now. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk to me about all of this!" Sam dipped her head, and the old man merely smiled, handing her a box. Surprised, Sam opened it to reveal a brand new pair of shoes. "For me? But I already have good shoes!" She didn't want to offend him though, and took them anyways. "You can never have too many pairs of shoes. May they help speed up your journey, young one." Tired from the heat, he returned back to his home, pleased that Sam had stuck around for the entirety of his lesson. Well, technically, he was right, you couldn't have too many shoes. Sam gets running shoes toooooo Justin Pryce, Samantha Maverick, and Rhoan Xavia have earned the Running Shoes.

Cherrygrove wasn't a very big city but Terri had been to every corner of it spending her money on overly priced clothes. Although she'd turned down the offer for a tour, Terri had bumped into the Guide Gent a handful of times and he'd pointed her in the right direction. She had a soft spot for old people as she'd grown up near the Day Care couple in Hoenn. After she'd finished picking up the last few pieces and was getting ready to leave town, Terri saw the man again out of the corner of her eye. He was waving at her, presumably aware that she was moving on with her journey.
Even though she didn't really want to hang around and chat, Terri felt obliged to say thanks. In a strange way, this old man was the only friend she'd made so far. "I just wanted to say thanks for helpin' me out,” Terri started. She reached out to shake the man’s hand. "It was my pleasure, lassie. I've got something for you to take away!" the man replied. He revealed a new pair of trainers from behind his back. They looked brand new and quite comfortable. "Uh, t-thanks," Terri stuttered, accepting the gift with a forced smile. A gift was a gift, although she wouldn't be caught dead in these shoes. "Anyway, I need to hit the road soon. I’ve been stuck here for far too long! See ya!" Terri shook the man's hand and darted off, shoving the shoes into her bag. "Now what the hell am I gonna do with these?" Running Shoes obtained.

Having got some downtime from studying at the prestigious Earl's Academy, Remi and Gex had decided to venture back to Cherrygrove City. Enjoying their free time, she was keen to take in the sights and sounds. The last time they had been here it had been rather eventful with everything going on and it had meant she didn't really have time to get a feel for the quaint side of this city. "Ah this place is so beautiful. The city's motto always rings in my mind when I think of Cherrygrove. The city of flagrant flowers." As she spoke out loud to Gex, it seemed an old man took notice. "Welly-welly-welly-wellity! What do we have here? A beautiful young lady who thinks so highly of this humble city? Very kind of ya. How about a tour? They call me the guide gent. I'll show you some of the more unusual tourist spots that go unmissed." A little surprised, she placed a hand over her open mouth but was quick to smooth over her expression. Bowing deeply, she accepted. "Of course, we would love to. Thank you Guide Gent! Isn't this wonderful Gex? We get a special tour."
Just about finished with her conversation with Gex, she was taken by surprise again as the elderly gent dashed off at breakneck speeds. This would be some tour. Chasing after him with Gex in tow, she caught the tail end of something he was explaining. "...And that's why they call that weird rock Angelo's stone. It's a prime meetin' spot for young lovers. Oh, back in my youth..." Rambling on, Remi doubled over as she took in her breath along with Gex. As she looked back up she noticed he had dashed off again. This time towards the coastal area of of Cherrygrove. Jogging on after, she managed to hear just the tail end of the guide gent's words again. "...Bizarre isn't it? It's called Boing-Boing Cape. Rumour has it a girl who was trying to commit suicide by jumping off the cliff was miraculously bounced back up when she hit that spiked rock at the bottom there. The local fishermen all pray for good luck to this particular rock, calling it a 'sacred spot'..." Continuing on with his guide, Remi huffed as she tried to catch her breath. She was by no means unfit but this elderly man was able to move like lightning. "Off he goes again...!" Moaned Remi as she hurriedly tried to catch up. At this point Gex was in complete disbelief, his shades hanging at the end of his snout. Pushing them back up, he charged after them both also.
After a few more spots including an Italian restaurant, a rather shady looking tunnel and also an alleyway of no real interest, the guide led them back to his house, where they had started their tour. Congratulating Remi on being able to keep up with him, he presented her a pair of running shoes and bid her farewell. Lifting them up and examining them, she was unsure of how to respond. "I... Thank you." Looking back to Gex, it seemed they had had their fill of adventure for the day.

Pixie had made her way to Cherrygrove from new bark, it was a long cold walk. For Spring the harsh weather was odd, but summer didn't look much better the hail pelted down but at least it was warmer just wetter. She saw an old man standing outside his house, she raised a brow. "Hey you shouldn't be out in all this!" but talking to the old man just seems to spring him to life
He was very animated for his age and the young pink haired girl wasn't ready for that. "it's ok because with these running shoes i can make it anywhere super quick!" her chirped at the confused girl. But because she could speak the guide was off ready to give the tour, that was his job after all. Pixie followed out of pity after about a good hour, they finally ended up back at his house. "and now... we find our selves bad at my house. For a reward you can have a pair of running shoes i saw you struggling to keep up!"
Pixie took a deep breath, and was so happy to see the back of the training guide. But at least he gave a good gift.

Blaze was walking around Cherrygrove with her pokemon Flare who she had let walk around with her. Srara got to a place where she could put her bag down and flare sat next to her. Flare looked into her bag and saw she had some black sunglasses in there and put them on. "Flare!" Sarara said giggling at the sight of Flare smiling with the glasses on. "OK you can have them. just don't break them ok?" Sarara said before getting a nod from Flare in responce. At that moment an old man gave over and spook to Sarara saying to come in the pokemon center out of the hail. Sarara listened and followed the man inside the pokemon center before relising it was the old man that she and Damian had met when they were trying to find out about the water pollution. The old man began to tell a story about the time he saw a charizard and a blastoise have a battle and both Sarara and Flare enjoyed it. Afterwards the old man began to get something out before handing over some trainer's to Sarara. Sarara then thanked him before heading back out into the hail to continue her journey. Marshall had barely set foot in Cherrygrove City before he was swamped by people. It seemed that today was a busy day for some reason. Marshall squeezed through the crowds to try and get a glimpse of what exactly was going on. As he pushed through, he eventually saw what appeared to be a market in town. It seemed unlikely he'd find what he was looking for amongst all of this. He was about to turn around and leave when he heard a voice. "HELP! THIEF!" A young kid burst past Marshall and ran through the crowds rather expertly. Unsure exactly what was going on, Marshall followed suit and left. He didn't really plan on chasing this kid too far... after all, he wasn't in the best shape right now. Watching the thief flee, Marshall noticed something fall out of his grasp. Two things, in fact. They looked like brand new shoes. Marshall looked around to make sure no-one was really paying much attention before grabbing them. "Oh, these are nice... I'll keep hold of 'em. Could do with some decent running shoes." He slipped them on his feet, luckily finding that they were about his size. What great fortune! Running Shoes obtained!

Aglaia saw a poster for a guided turn around Cherrygrove and though she wasn't particularly interested in flowers, history or architecture, she thought she may could get to see areas she didn't know about, and she was curious on how the guide was running things. It was free so how did he make it all run around? Did he have some sponsors or was he paid by the shops and places he showed the people he showed around? The tour was slow and quiet, with a lot of history about the town and Aglaia quickly got disappointed as she realised how little there was in it. Guide Gent was a retired man who showed visitors around due to his love of the city and its stories. She was surprised to see how many took the tour, she hadn't realized it was so popular, and she thought it was a shame no-one benefitted from it. "I take that you aren't interested in any profit from this?" Aglaia asked Gent in a quiet moment. "People'a happiness are more than enough for me," he said with a warm smile, "there is nothing better than to share the wonders of Cherrygrove."Aglaia smiled politely, she had heard the story before and treated him like a customer now. Kind and helpful while trying to convince him there was a better solution. "Of course, but have you thought about mixing it with charity?" She asked politely and he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "I just thought that you could get some of the cities companies to sponsor the walks, and donate to some charity here in the town, for every person you are showing around or something. That will both give the companies in the city adverticement and people will support the city while still learning about its history," Aglaai explained and Guide Gent looked thoughtful at her. A couple of weeks later, Aglaia was enjoying a queit walk with Wystan at her side, when Guide Gent noticed her and excused himself to the group he was showing around and approached her. "I just want to thank you for your idea, it works pretty well I must say," Guide Gent told Aglaia after the greeting. "I have been given these shoes to hand out, which has the logo of the company, and in turn they will donate for for charity. Here I want you to keep this pair, since it was your idea."Aglaia thanked him surprised and was pleased that her idea had worked.
Astrid were sitting on a bench and watched as a gentleman showed a group of people around. They paused briefly and talked about the garden she was sitting beside and she found the stories he told about it, really interesting. As the group was about to leave, Astrid poked the Guide to ask if he would have similar tours in other times, which he happily confirmed he had, and she asked when it started and where they were going. Astrid looked a bit doubtfully when he told her, that sounded really long. She asked him of his route and thanked him. In the next couple of days she made sure to be at the spots where he had things to tell the group, so she could hear them without joining the long walk, her legs couldn't handle. Guide Gent looked pleasently surprised everytime he saw her and eventually he asked her the reason, why she just didn't join in on the walk. "My legs, they are not as good as they used to be and unfortunately I cannot walk as far. This is a good solution." She explained with a smile. "You just need to excercise some more," Guide gent said humored and Astrid smiled wamrly to him. "That is easier said than done, but I am working on it now I have become a trainer," she said a bit proudly. "A trainer nonetheless, then you need some good shoes to walk in," He looked down at the ones she was wearing, before he pulled another pair out. "These are running shoes, I know, but they are really good walking long distances in, you should try them out," he said and ignored Astrid's protests, instead he added, "I hope to see you around, perhaps you will be able to join me for a full tour one day." He smiled warmly, before he left. Running Shoes obtained!
