Once you have passed Union Cave and trekked Route 33 you can enter this town. It is home to Kurt, a master of creating different kinds of pokéballs out of apricorns. Slowpoke Well can also be found here but watch out for Team Rocket. If you earn the local badge. The eastern exit leads back to Route 33, connecting the town with Union Cave, while the western exit is blocked by a dense woodland know as Ilex Forest.

Slowpoke Well, a dried up old well that leads into a cave system. There have been some noises down there lately...

Kurt's House, the home of a master pokéball craftsman who practices the ancient techniques of capture.

Ilex Forest, a massive sea of tree and bush ripe with stories of lost souls and mysticism. The people of Azalea live in harmony with the pokémon at its edge, but deeper in the forest is a maze.

Charcoal Kiln, a little abode out of the way that is equipped with a special kiln used to craft charcoal. Not just any wood will do though.

To progress to Goldenrod you must complete the following activities:

• Defeat Bugsy for the Hive Badge
  
• Complete the quest "Wild Goose Chase"
  
• Find your way through Ilex Forest

Bugsy specializes in Bug-type Pokémon. Although his Metapod and Kakuna are reasonably tame be prepared for his Scyther, which is holding a Berry. If there's one thing that can be said about Bugsy, other than his overwhelming enthusiasm for bugs and bug related facts, it's that nothing is quite what it seems.


Loyalty cap before obtaining the badge is level 25.

Route 33
Wild Levels 8 - 15

Route 33 is a very short route that connects Union Cave to Azalea Town. Only one NPC trainer can be found in the vicinity and a single stretch of grass is laid out along a ridge. The route itself experiences frequent downpours and the ground may be muddy and the path sometimes flooded.

No battles are necessary to advance to the Gym.
