After having his final meal in the Goldenrod City Business District, Alex enjoyed himself a fine bowl of warm noodles with thick slippery starch as they slick off his utensils into his mouth. The bowl was also greatly seasoned with herbs and protein from the meat simmering in the boiling water before serving. He took an afternoon nap with his Pokemon in the Pokemon Center for one more day before packing. When it was time to leave, he realized it was already evening, with the setting sun casting a long shadow behind him.
However, as he reached the city's edge, the clouds were already raining with a loud chattering of rain and pompous thunder. He put on his dark blue colored jacket, and headed toward the next city-- Ecruteak. He had a brief moment of thought, wondering if moving between cities in such a rain was a great idea, but he also didn't see the point to wait any longer. Most of his Pokemon don't like the rain, but he let out his Lombre to enjoy the weather, and to keep him company. The walk to the next city wasn't long, so he should be able to reach there way before midnight.

Thick dark grey clouds covered the skies above and completely blocked out the sun. Where normally a bright ray of sunshine would shine down and brighten the world below, only gloomy darkness met the gaze of the travelers that were left out in the open. A loud clap of thunder shook the land and was quickly chased behind by a bright bolt of lightning. The bolts of electric energy would zip in erratic patterns from the bottoms of the thick cirrocumulus clouds and disappear somewhere off in the distance. The usually wide open dirt pathway to Route 35 that curved around the side of a manmade pond and shot up to the entrance to the National Park would have been absolutely swamped with trainers scouring their tall grasses for the rarest of Pokemon that they could find. However, the heavy rains from the thundering skies above had chased most of them off. Still, some trainers stooped low in the wet grass with large umbrellas carried in one hand or overgrown ponchos tossed over their usual attire. Once such trainer was an interesting fellow. A large transparent poncho clung tightly to his body and draped over his collared white shirt and thick denim blue jeans. Bright red tennis shoes covered his feet and matched the bright red backpack that the gentleman had slung over his shoulders. The shoes were coated in thick clumps of wet grass and mud and was an evident reminder that the gentleman had been searching through the wild grasses in even the worst of the weather. He held out his phone in one hand with a light attached to the top and a protective film covering the device to keep the rain from ruining his electronic. “Yoooo followers we’re on the hunt yet again for the illusive Tympole! Holler at ya boy, know what I’m sayin’?!” He shouted out loud as he bent low in the grass and parted it to check through every blade, occasionally overturning rocks and sneaking behind large logs. “It’s the perffeccttt weatthheeerrr for it! Now last we left off we learned we need to find it with another Pokemon or two, as they absolutely HATE traveling alone! Sounds like my ex, but that’s another story if ya catch my drift!” He laughed hotly and wiped away a thick pool of water that was dripping down his face. Though, when the young man spotted Alex the collector would straighten up his back and made a beeline over to the young man. He raised a handout to Alex to greet him as he offered to shake it hands. “Break time from our hunt, SOS Fiends! Remember only 40% of you are subscribed, but over 80% of you love watching all of my videos. Don’t forget to hit that button and tap on the bell icon to stay updated!” He spoke into the phone, recording his adventure, before turning to Alex. “Anyways, my dude. I’m recording this for my latest video drop on all my servers. Montube, Chatoter, Tymblr, Instabin…ya know, the whole works. Mind if ya show me your Pokemon in an official battle? I’ll make it worth your wild.” The Collector winked calling out his small armored, dinosaur-like Pokemon. Collector Özgür wants to see your Pokemon! Özgür is sending out his Level 18 Aron. Who will Alex use? Rain weather will be in effect

Alex at first thought he heard a laugh in this rain and thunder, but he thought he was just imagining things, or having a flashback in his head to the time he heard people laughing on a screen or something. However, he certainly did hear a laughter, because seconds later, he heard this strange man walking toward him with a phone with his hand. He shyly smiled and held a hand as if to wave a hello, except he stopped when the other man got a little too close. "Uh, hi?"
He heard the part about followers and subscribers, and if he didn't hear the word subscribers, he would have thought this stranger was in a cult, but he wasn't. He listened to the stranger's request, and sighed. Was he going to be famous now? Or if he was lucky, this man didn't have many subscribers. His mind began to race, to try to not make the situation awkward. However, he also didn't want to show off all of his Pokemon for someone's content. Maybe he could do it with just one Pokemon, he thought to himself.
"That's.... a lot of social media," Alex replied, as he was no stranger to social media, where he reads anything from new to weird pseudoscience on the social media. However, he just wasn't prepared to be in one.
"How do you keep up with all of them?" He added, pondering the man's energy and effort into the media.
"Ah, so you just wanted a Pokemon battle. I can do that," he paused to think about which Pokemon, and then grabbed a ball and tossed it out. "Come on out, Lodd! Start with a Fake Out then Bubble Beam!"
Out from the sphere was a nonchalant looking duck-faced Pokemon. Lodd stood still with focus of unbothered in his eyes. He was actually enjoying the rain too, just not externally. He waited until the Aron would get close then give it a spoopy Fake Out, and follow up that with a Bubble Beam.

“And you see it here for the first time on my channel, folks! A Lombre before your very eyes!” The Collector spun his camera around on Lodd as soon as the large lily pad headed Pokemon appeared from her Pokeball. He zoomed in close to Lodd’s face without needing to get too close using the features on his camera and carefully balanced it out so that the shot would show clean and clear on the screen. The collector couldn’t help but to smile as wide as he possibly could as a glimmer of excitement danced inside of his gaze, for he knew that his millions of followers would simply eat this up when they watched his videos. “Now Lombre are common on Route 44 but that’s a long ways off from Goldenrod!” He carried away in the screen, hypothesizing how Alex and his Lodd must have met. “But Lotad are pretty uncommon at Ethereal Lake in Ilex Forest, which makes me believe that this baby was caught – YOU GUESSED IT – as a Lotad first! Will our friend evolve his Pokemon using a Water Stone one day! What an exciting twist that would be!” Özgür carried away into the cell phone that he was using as a camera. The small dino-like Pokemon stepped up to the plate as it dug its foot into the soppy wet, muddy ground underneath him. He narrowed his blue eyes on Lodd and shook his head as he growled at his opponent and rolled his eyes in Özgür’s direction while he awaited his command. “Aggro, my boy, use Roar! That opponent spells death for us if you don’t act quick!” The collector boasted at the top of his lungs. Lodd rushed after her opponent on the tops of her feet and slammed her long bluish-green hands against the sides of the Aron’s face. Aggro jumped back and shook his head as he tried to regain himself. Although he wanted to roar, he found that Lodd had hit his throat too hard with her hands. As he opened his mouth wide, the Aron only coughed and choked on his own words. The Collector’s eyes widened in alarm. “Quick, my dude, use Headbutt! Be speedy with the wind! We need to buy some time!” But it was too late. The Lombre moved quicker, firing a powerful blast of large bubbles at the other Pokemon and knocking it out easily. The Collector searched through his Pokemon on hand before pulling out a new Pokeball and summoning a floating balloon. “Ok, Puff, its up to you now!” He declared. Then, to be a good sport, the trainer turned to Alex and returned to the trainer’s questions. He clicked away on his phone as he paused the video so that he wouldn’t ‘explain away’ the magic to his subscribers or ruin the heat of the moment for them. With a smile, Özgür scratched the bottom of his chin. “Honestly? I schedule my updates.” He added with a wink. “I update Chatoter every day in the early morning and late evening. I have scheduled posts that update Instabin every few hours. I upload to Tymblr once every two days to keep ‘em occupied. And I have a weekly video drop to Montube usually on Mondays or Wednesdays.” He nodded towards Alex’s Lombre as he pushed his wide rimmed glasses up the bridge of his nose with a gleam in his eyes. “Though your Lombre…she’s something else, isn’t she?” He added with a smile. Alex put a hand over his head, mostly to protect his eyes from the rain, but also to quietly glare at the chatty opponent, who was talking to a camera. He still remembered how he got his Pokemon, and the speaker was wrong in both account. He didn't want to be that guy, but he began, "Um, actually--" Yup, he sounded like that guy. "I caught her as a young Lombre in the Safari Zone... When I got an opportunity to get there." And he left it like that. He wasn't sure if this man, or his followers, would be digging the history of people, who went to Safari Zone. He thought that would be kind of creepy and invading his privacy.
Thankfully though, his Lombre made quick work of the Aron with a combination of Fake Out and Bubblebeam. There was a split second that Alex almost forgot the Aron could have the ability Sturdy, and going straight for Bubblebeam the first turn would meant it would survive. Then, the opponent summoned a Drifblim. Alex recognized it as a Pokemon from his region, though not particularly as common as other Pokemon.
"That's a lot, how do you find so much content to upload?" He continued the conversation. Alex wasn't sure if he could grasp the idea of someone streaming for a living. Although someone who schedules updates as a job, probably would have time to schedule eye appointments to wear his glasses.
"Yup, she's not an expressive Pokemon, but she's great at what she does," he replied about the comment on his Lombre. Well, she's great at staring into space, and would win a competition watching paint dry. "Lodd, now go for an Ice Beam!"
The dual type Pokemon growled a sound, and readied herself to reenact the battle of ice tower versus purple bloons from a popular game.

The Collector hadn’t really heard much of what Alex had to say until he heard the word ‘Safari’. His ears perked up and he clicked away on his phone so that he could zoom in on Alex’s face. Özgür was no where near the Safari Zone and had only heard rumors about people winning a free ticket to visit the place. Could this be true for Alex or was the lad simply traveling back from his adventures at the Safari?! “WOAH, FIENDS, did we just hear this dude correctly or what?! He has been to the famous SAFARI ZONE and managed to snag his speedy little water dancer there!” Then, Özgür turned to Alex while the camera must have been zoomed a little too close to Alex’s face, and asked, “Do you mind telling my viewers what that was like for you? What all did you see and catch!?”Though, as soon as Puff appeared she would float up high above her opponent with a strange sort of vacant stare. Perhaps the two Pokemon could get into a staring competition? They both seemed perfectly suited for it, at least. Lodd was quick on her feet in the heat of the rain as she seemed to skate on top of the muddied ground after her opponent. In stark contrast, the sentient ghost balloon just sort of…swayed in the gentle breeze. Did it even know where it was going? Well, when it… swayed back to the battlefield…it seemed to, at least. Lodd shot a blast of bright icy energy that slammed into the balloon’s side. Though it looked like it could have popped her, Puff remained perfectly fine then seemed to smirk with a sinister glare. “Too perfect?! Ready, Fiends?! It’s time for PAYBACK, Puff!”Puff flew after her opponent as her eyes seemed to squint with an angry glare. As soon as the Drifloon was close enough to Lodd and managed to catch up after chasing her about above the slippery, muddy ground, she would use her two ‘string’ like hands to slap her opponent relentlessly. The energy that enveloped her long, strange appendages glowed with a strange dark energy as the balloon reveled in the payback she exacted upon her enemy. Özgür turned to as he considered Alex’s questions thoughtfully. “A good portion of my channel is dedicated to rare and exclusive Pokemon content. Then there’s the battle ‘thons that I take part of. And on some of my smaller channels we do Pokemon trivia and give out nice prizes as rewards.” He answered him thoughtfully. Quite a lot of different things going on for just your ordinary Pokemon collector, for sure! Alex rolled his eyes to the left when the man called his viewers FIENDS. Out of all the quirky and perky words to call your viewers, he chose this one. He sighed and began replying about the Safari Zone experience. "The Safari Zone had different niches for the Pokemon to live in. One place was kind of dry, and the other was kind of wet. Some places have taller grass than the other. Just always be alert, because you never know when a Pokemon would come after you. It's been a while, but I saw some Pokemon that I haven't seen before in Johto."
What Puff and the trainer did next took Alex by surprise. The Floating Balloon survived the Ice Beam attack, and then got a hold of the poor Lombre, which was slapped with a malicious amount of energy. When the ghost Pokemon was exhausted, and needed a rest from slapping, Lodd quickly got away, but Alex could tell the slapping lowered the grass and water type's willpower to battle.
"That's a good Payback, I will give you that. However, Lodd is going to use another Ice Beam again!" Alex complimented his foe, and ordered his Pokemon's next move. He then went back to the social media conversation. "What if you ended up seeing the same rare Pokemon again? Would it be bad for your content?"

Özgür noticed Alex roll his eyes and raised an eyebrow in the other man’s direction. Was his content simply boring the other trainer, or did Alex worry about being filmed? Özgür assumed that if Alex wasn’t making enough of a racket to get him to stop filming, then it must be ok to film the other gentleman. Plus, he felt that the rarer the Pokemon the more his followers would eat up his videos and help him with the algorithm. Hopefully, soon, he could just live solely off the content he provided his base. “That sounds so rad!” Özgür gasped, placing both hands on the sides of his face in a shocked expression. “They’re just charging out of the wilds at you? And…the Safari Zone works on different rules, right? What were those, do you remember?” He asked, trying to engage Alex more to see if it would change his demeanor. “Puff use Payback once more!” Özgür called out to his Pokemon. He furrowed his brow and glanced in Drifloon’s direction. It didn’t look like she could survive many more hits by Alex’s Lodd but he had to hope that they could pull off one more well-placed attack. Given the way the large lily pad skated across the slippery wet ground, Özgür knew that his Pokemon wouldn’t land the first hit even if he tried his best. They needed priority moves and STAT! Maybe Goldenrod had some really nice TMs that they could buy once they wandered into the large department store?? “Don’t let Alex’s Lodd take you out so easily. You’ve got this! Remember!” As soon as Lodd fired the blast of chilly ice energy, though, it was all she wrote for the poor little balloon that plopped sadly down on the ground, deflated by defeat. “Return…come on out, Pinkie Pie!” The collector called, tossing one more ball up into the air as he summoned the next Pokemon. He didn’t like the weather, and neither did the large fire horse as she bucked and bayed angrily. “Woah, girl…woah! I tried to spare you, but our opponents are just that good!” Özgür called out, placing a hand on the Ponyta’s shoulder and calming her down. As the horse spun around and reared up in Alex’s direction, Özgür reflected on the other man’s questions. “Hmm…you know we ran across a Fletchling once on Route 29.” He nodded with a loud hum. “I was just starting out then with my channel…it was the coolest thing ever! But then we met a guy from Kalos who had a whole flock of ‘em. I thought the video would suffer even during the interview…but you know what? My followers ate it up! They seem to just love Pokemon at the heart of it…which I love! If you’re not doing it for the Pokemon…then what are you doing it for?” Özgür responded in a long winded explanation. Although he ended his statement off with a question, it was a rather rhetorical one. Even as he was mesmerized by Lodd and even as they battled, that same spark of love that Özgür had for his team never quite left his eyes. Rules?... Alex thought to himself. Then remembered that he couldn't use his own Pokeballs and had to throw rocks, and limited number of Pokemon encounters because someone was watching you. Besides these, were there more? He replied after thinking, "The only rules I remembered were you had to use their Pokeballs, you can throw rocks, and someone counts your Pokemon before you got to leave." He paused to continue to think if there were more rules.
His thought was naturally interrupted by the flow of battle. Geez, everyone was trying to do a quick meet and greet while in battle. Can't they do it normally like in a restaurant? His Lodd fired the Ice Beam, and then quickly knocked out the floating Pokemon. The defeated foe fell to the ground, defeated. Then, the opponent swapped the balloon with a Ponyta.
"Hm, a Ponyta named Pinkie Pie," Alex mused. "How did you name this one?" He didn't really asked about the naming of his other two Pokemon, but this one was just odd. Ponyta was neither pink nor related to pie.
"That's cool," he replied to the fletchling. "So the Kalos guy with Fletchlings helped with your channel then?" He then wondered if they battled or the trainer just showed off his Fletchling.
"Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but Lodd, use Bubble beam!" He ordered after the opponent finished his story. The Lombre growled in response, and then swiftly moved across the splashy ground before honing in for a Bubblebeam attack.

Özgür scratched his head as he tried to make sense of the rules that Alex had explained. But he didn’t understand why someone would throw rocks at Pokemon. What could rocks do that his team couldn’t do? “You throw rocks at the wild Pokemon before capture…what about your team? Wouldn’t that be easier to lower their health and make them easier to capture?” Özgür kept the film rolling so that he could capture all of this on his camera. He had heard enough rumors about how strict the Safari Zone was with allowing trainers in. Some even spread rumors that trainers weren’t allowed to have any other Pokemon join them. Now was the perfect time for the Collector to find out from a firsthand witness. “I’m sure Puff or even Aggro would be enough to help me capture most of the ones I want…” He hummed thoughtfully. Ponyta pranced around the open route as she whinnied loud. It was a clear as the fires on her back how upset she was to be called out into battle. She turned to her trainer and slammed her side playfully against Özgür’s body as she shook her head and cast a wary glance up to the rainclouds above them. “Oh…I know, I know girl…but after this battle. I promise, ok?” Özgür reached out and gently petted Ponyta on her long snout between her ears. Ponyta smiled with a loud neigh then returned to face her opponent once more. “Ponyta, let’s give it our all ok? Use your Flame Wheel!” He smiled as his horse began to cloak herself in flames and raced off across the open terrain. She bucked, jumping over woodened benches, and weaving around large trees and manmade obstacles. “Her name? Well, honestly…my little brother named her but he, ugh…” A tear welled up in the corner of Özgür’s eye, before the collector would wipe it away with his hand. “I promised Pinkie Pie would see all of Johto. For my little brother…ya know?” Özgür smiled, gulping back the rest of his tears. Lodd practically skated across the large puddles of mud. Thick slabs of brown water sprayed everywhere as she rushed after her opponent, hopping onto the benches, and barreling over large logs in hot pursuit. Large bubbles frothed at her mouth which she used to fire away after Pinkie Pie. The horse brayed loudly, kicking her hind legs up into the air, as she swiftly dodged most of the attacks. Though, a few well-placed bubbles slammed into Pinkie Pie’s side and back, causing the horse to falter. She toppled over and rolled across the ground in a wildfire gone wrong sort of way, slamming back into Lodd and sending the strange lilypad flying back to the center of the battlefield. “Yeah! He really helped my popularity when I was just starting up. We battled a little bit at first, then just hung out and talked about Pokemon and different care techniques for our beloved teammates, ya know? It was all really useful stuff….oh, hi Lodd. You seen Pinkie Pie?” Özgür greeted Lodd as she landed on the ground between the two trainers. Pinkie Pie came dashing back to the battlefield shortly after, kicking her heels and braying loudly. Alex listened to the Poketuber for a bit and then replied quickly, spitting out as much facts 🖷 as he could remember. "Nope. You have to temporarily surrender your Pokemon and your bag for them to join the Safari. You're not exactly battling them over there, so you might say it's a test of your patience or luck. Let's hope the Pokemon you wanted won't run away too soon if the capture was a fail."
Alex didn't commented when the opponent comforted his fire type in the rain, as he just wanted to observe the situation. The conversation changed in tone when the detail of Pinkie Pie's name was mentioned, but he also a little skeptical if this was for his "on camera" show. Thankfully, Lodd's execution of the battle shifted the tone back into about the battle. Although the fire horse tried a Fire Spin, the little lilypad Pokemon retaliated with a close enough range of a Bubble Beam. The Ponyta was knocked heavily, and struggled to get back up. He figured the Ponyta's stamina was running low.
Lodd growled as if she was answering the opponent, but that could be a yes or no given how... unexpressive this evolution line of Pokemon was. Or the answer was even a "Huh?" She made a single, indeterminable sound.
"It's okay if you don't want to bring up about Pinkie Pie too much. You have the right to your privacy and secrets, especially to a random trainer like me in the middle of nowhere." Alex added when the round ended with a brief silence.
"Well, I hope you're enjoying taping me, but Lodd, go for another Bubble Beam!" he commanded his Pokemon to use another water type, likely finishing the battle.

Özgür blinked as he tried to understand what Alex was telling him. It sounded like a foreign language that Özgür was never given the opportunity to take a class on. Who would give up their Pokemon on hand to try and catch some elusive Pokemon inside of a park? He pressed his glasses up the ridge of his nose as the pouring rain made them slip down his face and recollected himself. “That sounds like…” He thought carefully about his words as he realized that they were still rolling for his Instabin and Montube feeds. “…a lot of work. Are there more elusive Pokemon than your Lombre at this park? Did you run into any of them yourself?” He questioned Alex, focusing the camera directly on the other trainer’s face with a careful zoom to make sure it was still flattering. Ponyta bucked and brayed as she raced off to try and escape the speedy bullet that was Lodd. She leaped over a couple that were having a Picnic on the ground out in the rain like that was a totally normal thing to do. The boyfriend raised his soaking wet fist and shook it angrily in the air after the other Pokemon. “Watch it, will ya?!” He shouted as Lodd kicked off the ground and jumped over them. Lodd landed in a large mud puddle and splashed the young couple with the muddy waters. The boyfriend got up and chased after the Pokemon, but was left doubled over, coughing and wheezing as they didn’t stop to see what was going on. “You see those rude Pokemon, dear? I woulda taught them a lesson…but I haven’t hit the GYM this week…and leg day’s really calling my name!” He complained as he walked back over to his picnic. “It’s ok. My brother was always a frail child and didn’t really make it to become a Pokemon trainer.” He explained and glanced over to where their Pokemon had raced off. “Uh oh, Pinkie Pie’s upsetting the local visitors…are they having a Picnic in the rain? Who does that?!” Özgür questioned in confusion as part of his natural personality – beyond the showy side he gave for the rolling cameras – slipped through. “I guess we owe them an apology after the match?” He laughed, then turned back to the question at hand at Lodd managed to hit Pinkie Pie directly in the side with a powerful blast of her bubbles, knocking her back to the battlefield once more. “See…he didn’t make it to his tenth birthday party but he was only a week away. Mom gave him Pinkie Pie a month early as a gift knowing he’d never get to travel with her and made him promise her that he would take lots of pictures and record his journey. She wanted to watch him on the ‘big screen’, ya know? Because he was destined to be a Pokemon Champion. He was going to be the first in our family to meet Leon…”Tears poured down the collector’s face and he quickly wiped them away as he pulled out a lump sum of money and handed it over to Alex. “Before I upload this to my platforms, I’d like your express permission to. We can talk about royalty fees or whatever you need to make you feel comfortable about it being uploaded too.” He explained, pulling out a packet of his usual disclosure paperwork, all vetted by his lawyers to ensure that everything went down properly. After Alex and Özgür were able to square away the rights to the video footage, Özgür would walk over to the couple to personally apologize for his horse’s behavior and ensure that she wouldn’t disturb them again. "Hmm... I've caught some Pokemon that I traded away, but I have also kept some Pokemon like a Torkoal. I don't like the cold that much," he replied after the man.
Soon, the two Pokemon were racing each other in the rain, and somehow the Ponyta leaped over some people having a picnic in the rain. That was an unusual thing to see, Alex looked at the picnic couple for a second in confusion. He whispered a "yup" with the opponent about who picnics in the rain. He listened to the story of Pinkie Pie and the man's brother, and understood the origin of the name.
"Well, thanks for sharing Pinkie Pie's story, and good luck on fulfilling that dream with Pinkie Pie." He replied after the man, and watched the battle ended quickly with the Lombre's Bubble Beam. He collected his prize money, but before he could go, he looked at the lawyer's paper that he somehow had. He took a look at a page or two, then flipped to random pages in random to scan for anything might affect him. He then decided to handed the paper works back to him. "How about this, blur out my face and if your viewers still recognized my voice in the street, tell them to leave me alone?" He just wanted some privacy.
Alex thanked his Lombre for her help in singlehandedly defeating the opponent. He originally was going to return the dual type Pokemon, but decided to leave her out to enjoy the rain, and continued toward Ecruteak City.

The rain was relentless and in this area it had been falling all day, making the ground muddy and the leaves stick together and hanging in the wetness as they got continually drummed on by the raindrops. Most people stayed at home and watched the rain through a window, and the pokemon which didn't have that option chose to find shelter where they could, even though there weren't much left. A ditto felt miserably, it was fairly new in this area and to the concept of being wild and while it had been easy when the weather was nice and the other wild pokemon happy, it was another matter now. It had enjoyed a nice spot under a bush but when the rain began it had gotten kicked out by a nidorina, it had protested but had been thrown out anyway. It had then found a nice spot under a tree but a pidgeotto thought it too close and it had ended up being chased off again. A birch had given it good shelter to begin with but as the rain began to get through the leaves it wasn't much use in the long run, and what made matter worse was that it felt like the rain somehow made it more humid than usual, which felt really weird. It didn't like it at all. It had looked for someone to transform into, to see if it would make it better, but they all looked as miserably as itself. That is, until Alex and his part water type arrived at the scene. The ditto stretched up curiously, that leaf-hat had to be perfect to protect it against the rain, only trouble was that most pokemon didn't fancy getting copied and look at someone identical as themselves unexpectedly. Ditto didn't really care but it knew it came with a risk. It slid through the grass towards the target, trying to be invisible and failed. Lodd turned her head to look at the ditto, who froze and pressed itself against the ground. Then it quickly stretched out a limb and touched Lodd's arm, the lombre shuddered and then slammed said hand down on top of ditto, making it splatter out to the sides. As Alex continued walking, he could only hear the sound of the endless rain and occasional thunder. Sometimes his feet might step on a crunchy leaf or more, but those sounds were nothing compared to the weather. The walk had been peaceful so far, as no one had dared to venture out in the rain. He thought he heard some sound at first, but he kept on walking while he turned his head left and right really quick and saw nothing.
Well, nothing from the eye level of his eyes. His Lombre though, noticed the Ditto and stared at it for a quick bit, and then smacked it with a sound to change Alex's field of vision. He looked down a bit and saw a Ditto hiding under some grasses and bushes. Lodd had caught the foreign Pokemon in a strange place.
"Nice catch, Lodd," he thanked his Pokemon. He analyzed the Ditto for a bit, and then decided he might capture one himself. "Hmm... stand back a bit Lodd, we're not knocking it out."
"Come out, Spiden, and use Night Shade!" he was sure somebody could find a good use for the copying Pokemon.
His dual bug type came out of the sphere, and tested her multiple feet on the ground on the muddy ground. Then, she summoned a dark presence using the shaded ground, all nicely covered from the cloudy and rainy day. It was a perfect use of the weather to attack from the shadows.
