Ethan surprisingly got his hand on a Safari Ticket from some fans that would like his opinion on the whole thing. He initially declined the ordeal, but with a little convincing that would be a new experience and likely new inspirations. He made his way to the Cianwood City with a helpful transport vehicle, and then made his way to the lobby. After showing the clerk the free safari pass he got, he traded in the security of his Pokemon for some safari balls and a bag of rocks.
He headed toward the Desert right away, and after making himself comfortable with the dry and hot atmosphere, he began walking around to look for some wild Pokemons.

The strange looking Trapinch ran across the desert in search of food. Of course, its pack tried to tell it that it's not a Trapinch but it knew better. It was definitely a Trapinch. Safari Encounter

A young looking pup came across him. Or he came across a young looking pup. He watched carefully as it growled and looked to be ready for something. He grabbed a rock from his bag and tossed at it, telling the dark type to keep its distance. Depending on how the Pokemon would react, he would toss another rock at it. However, when he reached into the bag and pulled it out, he felt something strange.
Did somebody put a rolled up termination letter in the rock bag? He shook his head and felt bad for whoever got fired in the Safari Zone. He thought maybe the person stole a Pokemon? Hopefully the people in the Safari don't mind him tossing this "rock".

The Houndour didn't budge, which was nice. Now, Ethan was prepared to capture this Pokemon, or attempt to. He grabbed the camouflage green capture device from the bag he was given with, and tossed it at the dark and fire type. The sphere traveled through the dry desert wind, until gravity or presence of the Houndour pulled it down. Then, it sucked the wild Pokemon and landed on the ground.
He gripped another Safari Ball just in case, but he was really hoping the first ball would work.

The Houndour broke opened the Safari Ball, and growled angrily at being attempted to be captured. Ethan grumbled at the failure, and quickly tossed the second Safari Ball he was holding. He watched as the ball sailed across the air and landed on the Houndour again. He didn't grab a third this time, as he wasn't expecting it to fail again. He waited anxiously as the ball sucked the duo type into the wiggly wobbly dance. He was hoping it would work for real this time. He figured the two rocks would have weakened it enough by now! He watched as the capture device landed on the ground and do the talking.

The ball snippy-snappied lil pup-pup right on up into its device. Now Ethan owned a barky boy...or maybe a barky girl? Only time will tell, we suppose! Remaining Safari Balls: 18

After the Houndour was successfully captured, Ethan grinned happily and smiled to himself. This wasn't too bad for the first one! He went toward the ball and bent down to picked it up, brushing off the sand that were stuck by the device. When he got back up, he stretched with both arms in the air, holding on to the caught Safari Ball. Then, when he turned around, he saw another Pokemon already, and he barely moved his spot! That Pokemon was probably waiting for the mean-sounding Houndour to move away before coming out of hiding.
Now, he would have to think about what to do. He pocketed away the caught Houndour's device for now.

A small electric lion came racing at Ethan with sparks zip-zapping through its fur. Humans?! In its desert?! That was the most unheard of thing since it learned of a certain flying bird trying to scare all the Pokemon away from the only oasis they had out here... Safari Encounter

First it was a Houndour, and now it was a.... Luxio, Ethan thought. That had to be a Luxio. It was watching him extremely intently and he was sure this would be a feisty one to capture. He grabbed a rock from his bag again and tossed one at the Luxio, observing the electric type's reaction. Then, if it hadn't decide to run away from that, he would switch to grab a Safari Ball and hurled it at the sky blue furred Pokemon. It was a little early to tell this Pokemon's reaction and perhaps personality, but he didn't mind as much if this one fled either.

The Luxio prepared to shock Ethan with a Spark of electricity when the rock he tossed stuck it right between the eyes causing it to flinch. As it recovered from the pelting the feline was too slow to react to the incoming Safari Ball. After three quick shakes the ball clicked shut trapping Luxio inside before it could cause Ethan any harm. Safari Encounter

After the capture, Ethan picked up the captured Pokeball and continued his way again. This time, there wasn't any Pokemon coming up immediately right after, so he would have to wander around to attract some wild Pokemon's attention toward him. Nothing appeared for a brief period, but he did leave some fresh foot print on the hot sand. He stopped his motion when heard a noise, but then nothing came up yet. He took a couple more steps and heard the same noise again, and finally, something came up. This one was a sneaky little one.

The noise he heard was the sound of hooves tapping on the soft sand, and an occasional snort from the giant bull. When the creature showed itself, Ethan faced a Tauros who was appeared agitated by his presence. It stared annoyingly at the human, and swung its tail (tails?) powerfully to communicate its strength as a form of intimidation.
Ethan shrugged as he wasn't much bothered by the lone Tauros trying to have a more dominating presence. He dug into his rock bag, and began grabbing something to hurl at it. This one felt a bit lighter than a rock. Was it a plastic imitation rock supposed to be a toy? Then, if the normal type decided to stay, he would not mind to toss another rock at it.
