As poochyena ran in with a terrible battle cry, howling to the sky to increase his vigor for battle, the buff sentret who didn't have time for any of this let out a huff and curled up into a tight ball. It made itself rounder and wider and fluffed up like a moody meowth about to start hissing. Look how big and buff it was. Tremble in fear at its big buffness. It's dealt with scarier things than YOU. The old lady watched fretfully from her porch for a moment, wanting desperately to go rescue her flower bed. "You have this handled?" she called out to the trainer. "I can try a shovel." Please lady, don't start harassing the wild life with a shovel. It was a bold sentret, but violence upon it likely wouldn't endear the creature into stopping its menace upon your garden. Depending on how spiteful it was, it might just sneak in to uproot your garden for fun after a good whack or two with a gardening implement. Its fluffy tail flicked as it glared at the pooch and flexed its little arms. Wild Encounter Weather: Mist [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Sentret LV 4 HP 100% [18/18]

WC 303 for pancham egg
NOTES - using tackle. Raiden knew that pokemon could become a little more rambunctious in certain situations. Though the trainer had no intention of actually capturing this puffball didn't mean that he couldn't try and help the lady. The two of them could battle and it would help raise Poochyena's levels as well as assist in the situation a little more. "No, I don't think a shovel will be necessary, besides this is what pokemon battles are for." really he didn't want to see this old lady throwing a shovel around and probably falling and hurting herself.
Instead, his eyes drift back to the battle as it seemed both pokemon had done ability increases. Well, that was a troublesome situation, wasn't it? If that was going to be the case. "Alright, if it wants to raise it's stats we will give it what it asked for Poochyena. Let's give it a strong tackle." the band that Poochyena wore would definitely help when it came to the actual power of its physical attacks. That was what Raiden was hoping for anyway. If the normal type continued to puff up and defend itself however this would be a long and tedious situation. Maybe he should catch it just to be done with the situation.
For now, he would keep the idea on the backburner, if it seemed like it was going to take forever then he would definitely use that as a backup plan. "How long as this pokemon been bothering you?" Raiden wasn't the best at people but he had signed himself up for this situation. It would be a good indicator of how stubborn the pokemon was, and if hew as probably better off just throwing the Pokeball instead of continuously fighting with it if they didn't resort to a slugging contest between the two of them. "Ever since spring, this...this...scoundrel has been causing trouble! First by uprooting the tulip bulbs before they could sprout and now by eating the flowers. Its an absolute menace and I'm at wits end with it. I've never seen such an audacious wild pokemon before. It's like it knows no fear!" The old woman complained. She still looked ready to get a shovel and hobble into battle like a drunken knight with a bad back. She might have almost no teeth but she had spirit and a vendetta against rodents who destroyed her precious garden. "Shoo, you beastie, shoo!" Said beastie was knocked back by the poochyena's tackle. It rolled and rolled until coming to a stop at the edge of the garden bed where little ears popped up before it unfurled. Then it growled at the poochyena. It was surprisingly menacing when it wanted to be. "You think you can win?" it hissed. "Have you seen how strong and scary I am? I'm like, super tough. I run this part of town." Its tail thrashed as it continued to try flexing on the pooch. Wild Encounter Weather: Mist [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Sentret LV 4 HP 72% [13/18]

WC 317 for pancham egg
NOTES - using pokeball, poochy was readying a tackle "just in case", and pancham eggie should be hatching ty <3 Raiden wasn't a people person, not by any means of the word. Not that he hated people, but that he was far more hesitant around most of them. He could hold a conversation sometimes, but that was only limited by how long he would be in their presence. Raiden didn't expect to see this woman again after this so he didn't mind sharing a small conversation with her. Especially since he had asked the question that got her talking, to begin with. Though hearing the answer made him think for a long moment, even if he defeated this pokemon he doubted that it would just stay away.
His eyes drift back to the woman who seemed more than willing and ready to commit poke violence. He really didn't want anything to happen to the sentret or to the old lady who seemed at her witts end. Poochyena on the other hand was more than willing to be ready to fight this overgrown furball. <"You aren't nearly as strong as you think you are."> was her response of a growl to the pokemon's taunts. She would beat him whether he liked it or not, and she had no qualms about doing so. Raiden finally looking back to the two pokemon knew what he had to do.
"Poochyena ready a tackle just in case." he said before digging in his bag for a pokeball. This wasn't a pokemon he wanted, not by any means, but he knew if he didn't take it with him it would keep returning over and over to this woman's garden and who knew if someone would be here the next time she wanted to take a shovel to the beast. Clicking the center to enlarge the ball Raiden gave it a good toss at the creature to absorb it inside and hopefully catch it before it caused any further harm to this ladies garden. Poochyena prepared to use tackle as the sentret glared back, braced to do an epic scratch on that pup's face if it came any closer...but Raiden stopped the battle of the century with one quick pokeball toss. The ball soared over head and struck the menace in the middle, right on the target that was its belly. The ball opened up and consumed the little rodent and a few rough shakes later and its reign of terror concluded. All was over. Done. Peace was restored and order maintained. No old ladies had to go to war, armed with a shovel and a grudge agains tall small mammal kind. The day...was saved... Thanks to Raiden and Poochyena. The old lady sighed when she saw the ball grow still, "Thank you, young man. You are a real help. Let me reward you. Come in, have a glass of water and a cookie. I baked them fresh this morning." And as if she wasn't shouting bloody murder at the sentret earlier, the old woman serenely shuffled into her house before emerging with a small tray of baked goodies and that promised glass of water. Her old, wrinkled hands trembled with the strain, but she was smiling.

In the city of fools, I was careful and cool but they tore me apart like a hurricane.
WC 400 for numel egg
NOTES - changing to bike, updated pc to add numel egg, updated pancham Raiden really hadn't been trying to end the most epic battle of all time between Poochyena and the Sentret. Yet there was very little that could be done in this situation. Of course, they could battle it out back and forth over and over again until there was a clear winner, or Raiden could just do the answer he had come up with. The fact of the matter was that this Pokemon was never going to be stopped until he caught it. It would just come back and cause the old lady more trouble than it was worth. This was the best option he could think of at this time, so when the Pokemon finally stopped moving in the ball Raiden sighted.
He knelt giving Poochyena a pat on the head. "Sorry buddy, I promise you can finish the battle next time." he said hoping that would be enough for the Pooch. This way they could continue on their journey without any problems to have to come back to handle later. The lady seemed to be a completely different person now that the Pokemon had been captured and would no longer threaten her livelihood. Raiden really could decline the offer but it seemed he was distracted for a moment as the egg he had with him began to move suddenly a lot more than it had. Grabbing it gently in his hand he watched as it hatched before his eyes.
Another egg to add to his completed tasks, the pokemon inside seemed to be quite the shower. An open of his Pokedex said that it was a Pancham a fighting pokemon that could definitely be useful in the future. "Hello little one, welcome to the team." he said as the little pokemon immediately tried to cause mischief by chasing around Poochyena. Raiden was caught in their little playful antics while the woman once more returned back outside with a plate of cookies and water. "Oh, thank you." he said taking at least one and the water that was offered.
By the time he had finished taking the cookie and the water, it seemed the pokemon had worn themselves out. Once more returning Poochyena to her ball and the young Pancham to his it seemed it was time to set off again. "Good luck with your garden." he offered the woman before he moved to pull out his bike that had been stored away. Sometimes he wondered how an entire bike fit in a bag but he didn't want to think too much more of it at the moment. Instead he got on and began to peddle hoping that this would be much easier to get where he needed to go. [googlefont=Karla]

In the city of fools, I was careful and cool but they tore me apart like a hurricane.
WC 400 for numel egg, self updating
NOTES - using pancham, switch to pooch, tackle x2 Raiden thought that the bike would be the better way of getting things done, so that was what he would do. On the way through the town heading to Cherrygrove a rather interesting thing happened. A rattata seemed to be blocking the path and Raiden wasn't about to run it over. Slowing the pedaling to a halt he finally stopped in his tracks. The pokemon wasn't alone, instead, it seemed that more seemed to be joining on the edges of the path and having a good ole time.
He tried to move forward just a little bit hoping to scare the pokemon out of the way, but no luck at all. The rattata didn't seem to care one bit about what happened. Would Raiden literally have to run it over to get it to move? Absolutely not why would you think like that. Instead, he had an idea to help train the newly hatched pokemon. First sending out Pancham, before quickly switching to Poochyena once more. He knew it would take a hit for the quick switch but they were for sure going to give this pokemon a run for its money.
"You got this Poochyena. Let's give it a good tackle or two." he commented as the dog pokemon barked its reply. Poochyena didn't quite understand why Rattata didn't just move. It wasn't that hard of a concept. <"You know you can just take your Masquerade somewhere else you know."> she tried but it was no luck. The pokemon simply did not want to listen so that meant that a battle was the only remaining option for them. So Poochyena launched forward to attempt to crash into the pokemon and then waiting for it to take its turn she would try one more time.
This may be a little dangerous but she was sure that her trainer knew what he was doing. He hadn't let her down before and she doubted that he would let her down now. Though she hoped that this Rattata didn't hit too strong since she wasn't sure she could take too many of its attacks without needing to be healed by something at least. Raiden knew that he was putting Poochyena in a difficult situation but he wouldn't do so without a plan. So just in case he moved in his bag to grab an item just in case it looked like Poochyena might be taken down. [googlefont=Karla]

NOTES - using tackle x3, poochyena has muscle band Well this was going a little better than he thought that it would. Right now it seemed that Rattata had chosen to use tail whip, which could be a problem when it actually decided to do a damaging move. Or he could be lucky and it continued to use the status move and not anything else. Poochyena hadn't taken any damage so for now Raiden isn't worried. However, he wasn't sure what would happen in the future. That was always a mystery when it came to pokemon battles. The only thing he could hope was that they were able to damage better with Poochyena having her band and the fact that she seemed a little stronger than Rattata. Meanwhile, the pokemon seemed that it was even more determined that it was not going to move from this spot, it was determined that the masquerade must be here. There was no other place that it could be, of course, that meant that the human and his pokemon were in trouble. As much as Raiden would have loved to simply move around the pokemon it seemed like that would not be an option in this situation. Still even after the battle had begun the Rattata could not be convinced to simply go somewhere else. <"This has got to be the worst place to have a party."> Poochyena tried to convince the purple rat. Still, the rat would not be persuaded even by fancy words. <"I know what you're trying to do, by saying it's a terrible spot you want to take it for yourself."> That would be quite the trick if that was in fact what they were trying to do. A groan came from the pup as she tried to convince otherwise. <"Not really, we just want to pass through and you're kind of blocking the way."> That would make sense but Rattata was not so sure that was the real reason that all of this was happening. Eyes squint at the dog and it once again confirms that they were not to be trusted. They definitely wanted this spot. <"Nope, not moving. Don't believe you."> how annoying. <"Fine then we will make you move by force."> the Poochyena growled before looking back to her trainer. Raiden could tell that nothing was coming of the pokemon talking especially when Poochyena looked back at him. "Seems we have no choice then. Let's go for tackle until it gets out of our way or we win this fight." So Poochyena readied herself to teach the rat a lesson by attempting to slam her body into it as many times as necessary. NOTES - using pokeball, poochyena has muscle band, rat to pc pls It seemed that things were not as easy as they seemed. For Raiden it was almost like training pokemon was much harder than it had looked on the shows. Of course, even someone like him had seen them, the more magical versions that weren't in a region filled with sand. What it must be like for those elsewhere who could compete in contests, those who didn't have to worry about being robbed at every corner. Such a life didn't seem like it was possible for someone like him, for someone who wasn't destined for much more than what he already was. Yet here he was one of those people who could very well end up on the tv if someone interviewed him. Raiden honestly wanted nothing to do with the thought of it, because it was more of a way for people to find him. He was running away from his past not trying to waive it down with a big red flag. The man simply shook his head and let the thoughts take him elsewhere to what the others could be doing and if they had gotten out too. One day he would go back for them, this he had promised himself and that was a promise of a lifetime. Instead, he tried to focus on the battle at hand, on the rattata that refused to leave the area. It was a lot stronger than it had seemed and after a barrage of fighting Raiden could tell that both pokemon were injured. Quickly moving into his bag Raiden grabbed a pokeball and tossed it at the creature. Though he had no intention of using it this was the easiest solution to make sure things would settle the way he needed. It was easier to pick up pokeballs than potions when he really needed them. "Good job Poochyena." he said giving the pokemon congrats for working so hard, she had done all the hard lifting after all. Yet eyes move to see that they are not only battling but being watched by a bird in the trees. A flying type would be useful for his team but he wasn't sure that was the exact one he needed to round it out. Perhaps he could catch one just in case but otherwise, he would continue training and letting things take their natural course. He would probably need to heal Poochyena after this battle since she had worked so hard and had more than a few scratches on her. (using mod bar on pooch) [googlefont=Karla]

WC 400 for numel egg, self updating
NOTES - switching to charmander, next encounter Raiden didn't think it could have gone better himself, though he was now the owner of a pokemon he wasn't sure he would necessarily use. The problem was that he had been afraid that if they had just attacked one more time Poochyena might not survive the attack. That was something that Raiden could not tolerate, he had a potion in his bag but he didn't really want to use it in the case where it wasn't needed. The ball seemed to do the trick just as well and Poochyena seemed much stronger than before. A well-planned fight indeed and the hooligan couldn't help but be proud of the dog pokemon.
After he picked up the pokeball and put it away he moved to gently give well-deserved pets on her head and scratches on her ears. "You did amazing. Good job. Let's get you looked at shall we?" he could always just put her away in her ball and wait till the next town but that wouldn't be kind after how hard she had just fought for Raiden and the experience she had gained from doing so. Instead, he moved to once again climb back on his back and looked at the small back dog. "Do you want me to take you in your ball or do you want to follow?" he asked the pokemon. If she wasn't feeling too well he could recall her but the dog seemed quite excited to run alongside him.
If she had been more injured Raiden wouldn't have given the option, instead he motioned her to follow as he peddled back to the city and to the pokemon center locking his bike up outside and entering. Poochyena happily moved to Nurse Joy and yapped as she treated the pokemon and they came out just as perfect as before. "I need to train the others do you still want to run beside me?" he asked the pokemon and with a few small yips came the answer, seemed he would have a travel buddy at least if he didn't go too fast so once more they went back out into the route. This time however whatever came out would be tested against Charmander and Poochyena would just enjoy the scenery.
He was sure he should actually move on to the next town soon, perhaps after he gained a few more levels on Charmander and Mudkip, that would be the smart move. With a plan and a course set in his mind, Raiden peddled back into the route. Whether it was pokemon or trainer he would meet them expectantly so that he could get the levels his team needed. Not to mention he would still need to make sure he was keeping an eye on the egg that he had safely stored in his bag for safety reasons.
