Music filled the air. Something strange was erupting through the densely packed forest, where trees seemed to come alive as the music stretched throughout the fungi infested region. It carried a strange yet upbeat sound, like small kids trying to create music by banging on randomly found pots and pans inside of their parents kitchen. Small puffball mushroom bounced out from underneath a large bush, followed by a few others. Some pushed past Penelope and Deerling as though they meant nothing to them, chattering away as they gestured towards smaller forms of themselves that stuck close to them. “Yeah, Shroomish 4643 will start Shroom school next month.” One giggled to an older Shroomish, whose face seemed layered with lines similar to wrinkles. The older one laughed, leaning against a fallen log some used to set up berries and plucked fungi up as though they were setting up a buffet. It laughed, nodding along to what the other Shroomish was telling it. “Really? You know my daughter, Shroomish 753, graduated from Shroom school a couple years ago. I was so proud to watch her walk down the trail and accept her graduation leaf!” It smiled brightly. They were jumping and spinning around with each other, hopping and dancing cheerfully as they enjoyed their merry melodies! When Beets rushed forward and came crashing into the oldest Shroomish, knocking it backwards through the fungi infested forest, it screeched in pain. All the others ducked and dived into the nearby bushes to hide, though they watched through fearful eyes to see what would happen. “What’s your problem, bub?!” Shroomish yelled. It rushed forward, ramming its head into Beets’ leg hoping to scare them off. “We’re celebrating all our graduate Shroomish today! Do you mind?!” It asked incredulously. A Wild Shroomish Appeared! Decide how Alex and Beets will continue the fight here! Shiny? K1yaeogT1-421-42

After the last Shroomish had gave Beets another chest bump, the Shroomish finally scattered as they got bored of watching them chest bumping. The background armless Shroomish disappeared into the forest as they went on their graduation celebratory festivities and merry berry juice sipping. However, a lone Shroomish popped up and stealthily walked up behind Beets as the Deerling was turning toward his new trainer for some rest and recovery. The Deerling noticed and turned his body halfway around, "Heeyy um, weren't you supposed to go party with your classmates?" He bleated. "Yeah, but I want to grow up to be a strong Breloom and I would love to explore and to train with your human!" It hopped and wiggled its feet in glee. Penelope saw the Shroomish's eagerness, and take in the apprentice Shroomish. For now, his name will be "Luigi", not because Penelope knew any Italian or anything. The Bellsprout hadn't gotten his hands dirty ever since cutting that tree blocking a path. However, watching all the battles the newcomer Skiddo and Deerling had with the Shroomish, Paras, and Foongus made the young grass type excited to battle again. Maybe he'll show off to these bumbling Pokemon what being strong really means, such as stronger than a flying type Pokemon or a bug type. Well, Narctar hadn't fought a flying type Pokemon since switching out against Falkner's Pidgey, but he'll have to train them up these wild Pokemon. He'll prepare a Bullet Seed if he saw those Foongus or Paras again, but for the happy-go-lucky Shroomish, it'll be an after-party for them!

Another of the relentless guards was sent away from one of the two Mushroom Kingdoms that dominated this part of the forest. It was large for its size, and though it wasn’t close to evolution there were already rumors starting in the mills of its home that it would soon see a stronger, new body given its often brutal battles it had with the Foongus and some Shroomish that inhabited the area nearby. Today, it needed to secure the lands around its kingdom and root out any enemies that might be hiding, flipping over small rocks and many scattered leaves in its wake. “They think they can hide.” The bright orange cicada nymph commented softly to itself, skittering through a hollow log from one side to the other and leaping on top of a large pile of debris. It used its sharp pinchers to rip and shreds the leaves into tiny fragments mercilessly, then licked its long claws with a haughty laugh. “But they can’t. No one hides from me. Not enemies. Not spies.” It mused thoughtfully. It paused, hearing the sounds of others, and slipped up behind a large pine tree to quietly peer around the base and watched at Penelope and her team clamored around and talked at length with each other. “Enemies?! Near our border?!” It fumed underneath its voice and tapped its leg against the ground, getting another Paras to come skittering to its side. “Send word back to the kingdom. Rally the troops.” It growled angrily. “But sir. I think that’s the human whose Pokemon has been working for-“ The large Paras interrupted, turning on its own. “What?! Diplomacy?! It’s far too late for that to ever work here!” As it leaped out from behind the tree and rushed at Nectar to try and absorb health from the other Pokemon, Nectar began firing several small seeds at it like bullets, causing Paras to squeal in pain as they found their mark. A Wild Paras has appeared! Level 15. See what happens next here. Weather is HEATWAVE. Shiny? JYpSmnlV1-42 Last chance for Shroomish common rate with Heatwave weather, gotta give you that chance. 1-42

"Good, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, if you've heard of that saying." The Bellsprout spoke. "What this means is, with the power of you Paras and Foongus combined, you guys can tell the flying Pokemon to get wrecked." He then nodded as the Paras headed off to discuss with its leader, and sent them off with good lucks and propserity. Then there was a Maractus. Thankfully, the Bellsprout didn't have to say anything like, "you're excused, we're not blocking the way," before the other grass type Pokemon was captured. Peneloped picked up the captured Pokemon, and sighed heavily and made the decision to go to another area. "Let's go somewhere, Grunch and Narctar!" She folded her arms, and then the Bellsprout climbed on top of the Skiddo and they ventured out again, finally leaving this stinky wet mushroom ground. WE'RE FINALLY LEAVING TO FOREST SHRIEN AFTER A WHOLE YEAR GUYSOOC: wondering even if i can swap with box, the mons will be whatever hp they're left with, right?

Coming from Dense Thicket...
After defeating the evil spirit wandering around the mystical forest and healing the ill grass-type Pokemon, Aphrodite and her Pokemon felt a lot more at peaceful exploring the forest and attempting to make their way out of it after spending too many days and nights inside of it. A soft smile was spread across her soft lips as her warm amber eyes took in the sight of the various mushrooms planted throughout the area. As a little girl, she believed that a rings of mushrooms were considered to be "fairy rings" and host various fairy-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, she did see any fairy-type Pokemon dancing around the mushrooms this time. Therefore, she continued on her way to the next area.
Next stop Conifer Crest...

They moved to the next stretch of forestry together with the weight of the previous adventure lifted off their shoulders. Mishu smiled, having returned her team back into their respective balls where they could rest for the evening. The silence that drifted through the trees in the frosty air was almost relieving. The living nightmare of events she recently endured drained on her senses, causing Mishu’s bright amber eyes to shift and search every branch that swayed in the gentle breeze. Small orange creatures shuffled through the tall green grasses, making it look like small red mushrooms with bright white splotches were dancing above the bright green blades.
They were common sights, though Mishu was blistfully unaware. Whenever she neared, twigs crunching underneath her beaten up sneakers that trekked through the region, the small creatures would hurriedly scurry in different directions until only shadows where they once stood remained. Something felt off about the recent experience. Like a nagging feeling at the back of her mind, beckoning her to return to the same trails she’d once traveled to ensure that she’d truly finished her quest. She reached out to Professor Elm through her phone, sending a nicely compiled email, to check up on the strange appearances of Pancham within the inner town’s limit’s.
Dear Prof. Elm,
I am happy to report back on the strange occurrence within Azalea. The Dark Type that everyone seemed to fear wreaking havoc turned out to be the Fighting Type Pancham. Another trainer managed to come across one as well and captured it. I found another causing the same problem and captured mine. This made me realize that this occurrence had to be linked to something more than just one rogue Pokemon within Azalea Town, so I investigated the matter.
I managed to uncover that ghost Pokemon not naturally inhabitants of Ilex – from what I can tell, at least – were causing devastation on the natural biome of the forest. We managed to remove the threat of these ghosts. Already, the wild Pokemon are returning back to their habitats once more, showing early signs of improvement. The Pokemon we encountered were Ghastly, Duskull, Shuppet, and Misdreavus, along with a powerful Gengar. I was hoping you could look further into the matter for me and report back your own findings, to ensure that they truly are not native to the terrain?
Also, we came across a sickly Chikorita who we were able to heal and who has chosen to be captured of its own free will. My goal is to vet a new home for the Chikorita, where it will be properly loved and cared for. Also, do you have any documents on the mythical legends of Celebi? I would be very eager to read those in my spare time, if you could send them my way or give me good recommendations of reading material I could look up for myself.
Sincerely, Mishu Mizuma
With that taken care of, she paused along her way to check the relative health of the fungi that grew in abundance within this particular area of Ilex. They were many and varied, choking out the wild grasses in many patches and eating their way along the rough bark over fallen trees. No doubt, the perfect environment for such flora who’s long stalks prodded out and stretched in strange fashions. Some were safe to eat, but many were not. Mishu gathered a few up in her hands and observed them carefully with her amber eyes, only keeping those that she was positive were safe to eat, for a meal she planned to cook a little later on.

The area had shrooms a plenty, it was really a great place for them to thrive. Plenty of dead trees laying around, lot of dead plant materials on the ground and lost of tall grass and shrubbery which along with the dense treetops kept the place humid and perfect for fungi. It was a place that was like myth and legends in Azalea Town, a place they talked about with the best mushrooms around and the few who knew their way in and out of the forest, and what was almost a secret place (since otherwise some big coorporation would come and harvest it all and destroy it), had more than enough and could earn a bit of money selling to the restaurants in town. Not all the mushrooms stayed still, Mishu would see some scurry away in the distance, long before she got close enough to interact with any of them. One though was taken by surprise. Mishu was looking at some of the fungi to determine their edibility when a big tasty one suddenly moved and squinted annoyed at her with a wrinkled nose, although shroomish always looked irritated. Then it released a cloud of powders! Shroomish [Lv 10] appears! Frost (clear) will be in effect.Go to battle here Item(1): PbiLFHaE1-8Shiny: 1-421-8·1-42

-forest shrine-Penelope returned to the mushroom part of the forest again. After fighting like a hundred Shroomish and Paras, she decided to try somewhere new. She continued walking past as she tried to not dwell on the hunt for an elusive Pokemon that were overran by mushroom Pokemon. She carried the sleeping Chikorita on her hands. This time, it was just sleeping, no curse. Her Pokemon continued to follow here around, as they hadn't asked to be return to their Pokeball either. Perhaps, the forestry environment was encouraging for her grass type Pokemons to hang out some more. -conifer crest-

Team Notes: Kumaneko HP 30/60; Ika HP 67/69
The small blue squid frowned a bit as it watched Shroomish hop off to the side and observe them. She didn’t want the strange little Pokemon to feel uneasy about their arrival in its neck of the woods. Mishu jotted some notes down in her journal alongside the previous notes she’d gathered on the strange mushroom like Pokemon with a soft nod of her head. “We don’t want to take your territory from you.” Ika insisted, floating up high into the air and waving her many tentacles about to gesture towards the towering trees.
Rotting logs and scattered leaf litter wasn’t exactly her idea of a meal, anyways. Kumaneko skidded to a stop and spun around, slamming her small black paws on her side as she narrowed her eyes suspiciously on the small mushroom. “If you’ve got a problem with our team,” She growled softly underneath her breath, “you’d better learn how to speak UP and say it to MY face!” She wasn’t going to step to the side and allow this pint sized pushover to speak to them any kind of way! She was a warrior – they fought bravely to the end, and they didn’t take crap from anyone else!
Ika sighed with a shake of her head before floating down and wrapping one of her tentacles around Kumaneko’s furry black paw to pull her along. She better get a good grip, before the mushroom or one of its friends decided to jump into the fray against them. “It doesn’t want to fight.” Ika stated with a loud sigh and gestured to how the Shroomish simply moved out of the way to observe them. “We’re the trespassers anyways, you know. It just wants to make sure we leave it alone and continue on our way.” Ika insisted, pulling her friend along.
Kumaneko huffed with a shake of her head. What would they want with a dump like this?! “THIS?!” She growled at the top of her lungs and rolled her eyes. “Why would we fight for some rank logs that are falling apart and infested with bugs?! Yuck!” She followed Ika reluctantly, mumbling that next time she wouldn’t let the small Pokemon get away from her so easily. Mishu followed after her Pokemon while jotting her notes and giggling. They were quite the show.

A new part of the forest.
Silas did not linger long.
He hurried along, his steps steadfast, his gaze straight forward. The weather was clear and good and he wanted OUT of here. Ignoring everything around him, Silas marched forth. At his side, Mercenary prowled, growling at anything foolish enough to come too close. Neither of them were in the mood to be jumped by anything—aggressive or friendly.
All Silas wanted was a bath and a nap.
Maybe a snack.
Certainly a snack.
A full, three course meal.
Goldenrod was a big city. A proper city. Maybe he could find a good place to set up a base of operations for himself. He was a businessman after all, and he had some money in his pockets. If he was resourceful, he could climb his way back into power using the pocket change he made working for the rockets.
But first he needed out of this forest.
This loathsome, irritating, time-wasting maze of trees and misery. Of course, he might have to come back EVENTUALLY to try to find some rare pokemon to sell...but for now, he was done with Ilex and needed a proper respite from it all.

"You okay?"
Adrian wasn't the best with emotions. He really wasn't. But he also wasn't oblivious. This kid had gone through something scary and traumatic, and it made sense if he needed some time to process everything, or if he wanted to cry. Since leaving the shrine to make their way through this mushroomy part of the forest, Tommy had been silent, staring at the pokeball in his hands, face twitching between emotions.
The kid looked up, big eyes trusting but tired, "Yeah... I'm okay."
"I'm...sorry that you had to see all of that. I should have been able to handle that situation swiftly and without losing my cool," Adrian admitted, rubbing the back of his head.
Tommy staggered a bit and gave him a baffled look, "What do you mean, mister? That was AWESOME!"
"Huh?" That starry-eyed look was a little confusing considering the whole evil spirit threatened to murder them thing.
"You and Zoro! You guys were like...a super cool crime fighting team that bashed the baddy! BAM! The odds were against you and the hero was down but you rose up when the bad guy was monologuing and being evil and defeated him!"
"...Monologuing? That's a big word there, kiddo," Adrian snorted, finding himself smiling a bit.
Tommy smiled, "I heard it in a movie! It's when the bad guy talks lots and lots about his evil plan and lets his guard down so the good guy has the chance to smash him! Like wham!"
Adrian didn't think the ghost was talking THAT much, but hey, the fact the kid wasn't crying was nice. "You helped back there. Byte was the real MVP. The true side kick to help Zoro win the battle. If it wasn't for you being brave and sending them out, I wouldn't have had a chance to heal Zoro." Be a responsible adult, Adrian. "However. That said. You should try to let adults handle dangerous stuff like that."
Tommy looked a little abashed by that, "Yeah...I know. I just... It just felt like the right thing to do."
They continued to idly chat as they reached the next portion of the forest. —Word Count: 000 | OOC: Byte: Fainted

Arriving from the Forest ShrineWith the Forest Shrine now behind him, Shinya had finally set foot into a brand-new area of the Ilex Forest. One that he had never visited before today. Checking the map on his Pokegear, the Team Skull grunt discovered that this area was known as the Mushroom Bank. Correctly named too, as there were wild mushrooms growing everywhere Shinya looked, with plenty of mushroom-themed Pokemon living amongst them. None of these Pokemon were of any interest to Shinya though, so he just kept moving, aiming to reach Goldenrod City before nightfall. And at his current pace, it seemed that goal was within his grasp. As long as nothing went wrong and no one got in his way, of course. OOC: Shinya's next stop will be the Conifer Crest.

Lola and Freya were silent as they rode on Arcanine's back. No ghosts bothered them and the sense of urgency was gone. After seeing Celebi, the living myth itself, it was hard to form words. To think. After a long while, Lola laid a hand on Freya's shoulder.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For helping the forest heal. Ilex means a great deal to many people. I am thankful to see that dark wound closed." Lola said softly. "I hope this means more people come to the shrine. Remember our history..."
Freya nodded, "I hope so too." — Word Count; 000 | OOC:Coming from forest shrine Heading to conifer crest (Adding an NPC to my journey for flavor)

Seeing the distant cousins of his parasect all around, Silas knew he was getting a little closer to his destination of OUT. He considered briefly stopping to rest and maybe chucking a ball or two at the local wildlife, but did he really need more mushrooms? Even rarer mushrooms? He might as well just keep moving for now. If he had to come back, he could do so. For now, he didn't want to be in this forest for any longer than strictly necessary.
He kept walking.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
Their trek would carry them to a precarious stretch of Ilex where many fungi proliferated underneath the thin light that permeated from the canopies above. Several fallen logs littered the ground. Small white tops nestled against red tops with white splotches along the rotting logs, slowly eating away at the organic plant matter as it broke down. Zaiden grimaced as one of his feet slid into an old log with a sickening squelch, causing his stomach to turn.
It was a natural part of life itself and remained a testament to the health of the overall forest. He couldn’t help feeling a bit of apprehension as his feet touched the rotting pieces and felt their sickly damp exterior cling to his legs, remaining ever thankful for the clothes that adorned his hide and protected him from the outside. He only imagined what the fungi-infested logs must have felt like, with most of their matter decomposing and broken into several smaller chunks.
Goshikka jumped on top of one log with her arms raised up to the heavens above, bathed in the light of the sun as it poured through one of the openings within the canopy overhead. She was entirely too heavy for the soft matter. It crumbled in an instant and caused her to fall on the ground with a loud thud. Ouch! “Ughhh….” Goshikka jumped up slowly while rubbing the back of her head with a loud groan. “Why was it so weak?”
Moyashi paused along her trek and turned to her companion whilst pointing to the dead matter that Goshikka fell through. It was obvious to a fellow plant, and seemed almost ridiculous that Goshikka wasn’t able to figure it out on her own. “That’s because it’s dead so its body is breaking down and returning back to the dirt and grass around us. It’ll feed the next generation of plants now, helping this forest thrive through the many hurdles of life.”
Goshikka turned to her friend and blinked. Was… was Moyashi serious? “Humans use wood all the time for building things!” Moyashi nodded, her eyes turned to stare up to the heavens above with a soft hum. This was true but it didn’t detract from her statement. There was a difference in the wood that mankind used to build the strange boxes they loved to hide in and escape mother nature, and the logs that littered the Mushroom Bank. “You can thank our fungi friends for that.” She pointed to the large white oyster mushrooms and bright golden chicken of the woods mushrooms pressed against the sides of some trees.
“Or is it the Beast of the Shadows that preys on innocent Grass Types?!” Goshikka jested, her eyes wide and mischievous. She stretched her mouth into a wide grin as though her teeth were blades inside of her jaws and chomped down on the air ominously. Moyashi shrugged, pushing past her eccentric companion, and followed after Zaiden once more in a haste to keep up with him and tail close behind after her newfound ‘prey’. “Highly doubtful.” She scoffed. “There’s no Beast of the Shadows that preys on Grass Types. It’s just nature existing as it always has.”
Zaiden continued on past the abundance of mushrooms that surrounded him. He wanted to hurry his way to Goldenrod without necessarily being jumped by the next thing lurking within the trees or tall grasses around him. He could see small orange bugs with small red fungi on their backs scuttling about, who would stop and hiss at him whilst spreading strange and most likely deadly spores in the air as a warning. The last thing he wanted to do was stick around and inhale the fumes.
