Vella scowled at Tanya as she asked her about Miama’s moves. What the hell did she care? She was using crunch over and over too, and Vella hadn’t said anything about that. “I’ll tell you something lady, Psychic is Miama’s only offensive move you know, so I don’t care if you think it’s boring. Miama, use it!” Miama’s eyes lit up in blue, this time slamming the otter into Porter’s legs. Tempesta growled and stood up, Porter giving her a small helping push up, however much his legs hurt. Vella covered her mouth. “Miama! I didn’t tell you to hit my dear Porter!” Porter rubbed his legs and shook his head. Vella never learned, that was all he could think as he turned to his Umbreon, who was now rousing from sleep, while Tempesta carried out a crunch. “Umbreon Umbre…” That stupid thing’s terrorized squealing woke me up… Mauvias looked pissed, to say the least, but he was never very happy being woken up from a deep sleep anyway. Porter watched as Tempesta returned to their side and glanced at Tanya. “Looks like we’ll be done here shortly. Mau, use your own Psychic and show Miama a bit of what Tempesta has been feeling this entire battle!” Mauvias nodded and let his eyes glow a bright blue, lifting Miama up with an invisible force. “Umbre…” Stupid creature you are… He slammed Miama against a tree and it was over. The pink powder puff had been knocked out cold, and Vella shouted a curse into the air before recalling the Wigglytuff. Tears were in her eyes as she glanced at Porter, although probably fake. “ You’re so mean Porter! I just wanted to show you how much I loved and you fight alongside this…this..competition! You!” She shouted, pointing at Tanya. “You’re now my Rival for Porter! Don’t let me cross your path again cause next time you won’t have Porter to protect you.” She stormed off after that, and Porter let out an exasperated sigh. “Umbreon Umbreon…” What a little *****… Porter nudged Mauvias in his side and the Umbreon stared away, once again disinterested in the events around him. Porter seemed to now cheerfully ignore everything Vella just spewed about Tanya being her rival for his love and looked down at the box in his hands. “Thanks for helping me Tanya, and it looks like I have to get going for now so here.” He handed her the box upon opening it, and inside was a beatufil teardrop necklace that contained a small amount of shimmering water, carefully attached to a black chain. “My grandma made it for me, though I guess she keeps forgetting I’m not my sister… either way, it’s still important to me just because she crafted it, and I think it might be better with you anyway. Necklace’s don’t suit me.” He put the chain around her neck carefully before stepping back. “Yup, definitely. Of course, you don’t have to wear it, I also heard that water has a good effect on water types, so you can use it as you want, just please, take care of it.” He didn’t wait for her to protest as he took off with Mauvias and Pepper on his heels, calling another thanks and a good bye over his shoulder before he disappeared from Tanya’s view. ____________________________________________________ Victory!~

When Vella addressed her as 'lady', Tanya couldn't help but hoot with laughter. "Please, darling, I'm not old enough for that term to be applied! And wow, perhaps you should invest in some better moves," the fiery haired teen replied with a wry grin. Her amusement vanished when Tempesta collided with Porter's legs and nearly knocked him over. Anger flashed across her face, hands curling into fists involuntarily. There was no need to be so callous with using the damn move!
But she needn't worry, as moments later Mauvais finally regained consciousness and was able to deal the final blow with an ironically placed Psychic. Tanya felt herself sag with relief. Tempesta walked over and smiled wearily at her trainer, eyes dark with fatigue but brimming with pride at her victory. 'I did good, vright boss Tanya?' the Floatzel rasped. With a nod, Tanya assured the Water she'd done amazingly well and recalled her back into her ball, letting her earn some rest she so desperately deserved.
She turned back in time to hear Vella declare her a rival in love and smirked before stepping in closer to the hiker. "Right, senora, and I'll be waiting with open arms and a team of butt-kicking partners." The girl waved her hand dismissively as Vella fled before looking over at Porter. He seemed distracted as he thanked her for her help in getting the box back before explaining what was in it. The necklace within was utterly beautiful and shimmered like a tear drop suspended forever in time.
Tanya stared at it rather breathlessly and was shocked when he looped it around her neck. "I-I can't accept this!" she spluttered wildly, unable to comprehend why he was bestowing her with such a lovely gift. Her protests fell on deaf ears as he thanked her and left the area with his partners, leaving her standing alone with Flick and feeling very confused. The chameleon crawled up to her shoulder and reached out to study the necklace before setting it back against the hollow of her neck with an admiring pat.
"Oh Porter, you really shouldn't be so nice to me," Tanya groaned to nobody in particular before switching her green eyes to Flick. "Alright little fella, now how about a trip to the Pokémon Center and back to my cottage for a nice, hearty meal?" the girl asked, receiving an enthusiastic nod in response. Laughing, she set off down the path she'd started walking along earlier towards the quaint town, scenery coloured blue by the incoming twilight.
--
It had been a few days since she'd set out to New Bark Town and explored some mysterious cave and underground lake, training, catching, and evolving plenty of Pokémon. But back in Azalea now, Tanya could focus on just simply training again and do it at a more relaxed pace. She yawned as she stretched out on the bench at the Pokémon Center, it being fairly late at night. Normally nighttime excursions were a huge 'no' thing to her, especially in the wake of the stalker incident, and considering the winter weather of freezing rain lashing the windows. But she felt restless and wanted to get out there again, invigorate herself.
Ever mewled as Tanya laid a gentle hand on her head, stroking the soft fur. The devious yet sweet Purrloin had been obtained from a unique festival showcasing the better aspects of a different region, and so far the most Tanya had seen from the cat was her penchant for shiny objects. Hopefully the rain would let up a little in time for Ever's debut battle, which she could honestly say she was highly interested in seeing. But the first Pokémon she wanted to get trained was her beloved snake, who had been recuperating at the center thanks to his extreme exhaustion.
"Tanya! Veleno is ready to be checked out now," Nurse Joy called out to her, drawing Tanya from her seat. Ever was balanced over her shoulder as the girl strode the counter and accepted the ball containing her serpentine partner. "Thanks Nurse Joy. Have a good evening," the girl said as she zipped up her black coat and adjusted her fluffy cap. "Be careful out there. It's pretty icy," the matronly woman warned her as she left. Tanya held up a hand in acknowledgement before exiting the warm Center.
It was bitterly cold, even more so without any sun to raise the temperature slightly. Tanya shivered and recalled Ever to her ball, not wanting to subject the feline to the chilling bite of the rain. Walking out of town, boots crunching down ice-slicked snow, the fiery-haired girl was soon roaming Route 33 once more, all of her senses alert and attuned to her surroundings. She stopped for shelter under a tall tree and relaxed against it, fixing her green scarf to protect her neck. As she did this, a rustle from a bush near her had her pausing cautiously. "That better just be a Pokémon," Tanya breathed, watching the bush shake apprehensively.

A small figure suddenly appeared from the underbrush, darting out quickly and just past Tanya’s legs. It had barley been aware of the human until it spotted her red hair. The small purple figure stopped, looking up at Tanya with wide crimson eyes. Now just what was a Human like herself doing all the way out here? “Nido?” At first, Nidoran approached her fearlessly, sniffing her shoes and making his way around her legs. He didn’t seem at all phased by the fact she was in this neck of the woods, and he didn’t bother running. In fact, he was always interested to see the kinds of humans there were. Were there as many species of them as there were of Pokemon? It wasn’t until he gave her a through sniffing that he stopped. He smelled trained Pokemon on her…she was a trainer? Oh this was not good. Nidoran quickly jumped back, letting a low growl rumble in his throat. So that’s what she was up too. He watched her carefully, and her certainly seemed to want a fight. ____________________~~~~***********~~~~_____________________ Warning!Wild Nidoran (Level 14) Would like to fight!

A purple rodent with huge ears suddenly dashed out of the underbrush, not noticing her at first, giving her a chance to study it. If she was right, it was a species known as Nidoran, sporting two different genders and looks. The male line was supposed to be purple, and the females blue, so the girl figured that what she was looking at was Nidoran♂. It then sensed her presence and turned around, looking rather surprised to find her there.
When he walked right up to her, his fearless investigation made her smile. Something so bold would probably fit right in on her team, and so with that made she was ready to battle him. He suddenly leapt back, growling softly at her. The reaction confused her until she realized he'd probably smelled all sorts of scents all over her from her Pokémon. (Smart too, knows a threat when he smells it.) The thought enforced her desire to battle it and add to her team.
Reaching into her pocket, she extracted a ball and enlarged it before tossing it underhand into the air in front of her, releasing Veleno into the night. The serpent uncoiled himself and yawned widely, fangs dropping down from the roof of his mouth. They curved backwards and had a wicked sharp point, making it easier to slice through sinew and muscle to inject lethal toxins into his foes. But with Nidoran♂ being a fellow Poison type, tactics like that wouldn't get him far.
Looking back at his trainer with his brilliant golden eyes, the serpent hissed in displeasure as he realized he was lying in the snow and subject to pellets of icy rain falling from the darkened skies. 'Signora Tanya, why do you mi chiamano on thiss cold, wet night?' the serpent asked, not pleased with the fiery-haired girl. Tanya rolled her eyes at what she assumed was a complaint about his battling conditions and pointed in front of him. Veleno turned and stared impassively at his soon-to-be foe.
"It won't be a long fight Veleno, as long as luck is on our side. So let's get started quick and use Bite," Tanya explained, giving him the go-ahead to strike. Veleno sighed and began slithering forwards, ignoring the cold snow as it rubbed against his scales and caused him to shiver. 'Be still, il mio dolce, this will be rapido,' the snake promised as he lunged forwards like a cobra, fangs flashing in the dim lighting.

It didn't take to long after Tanya ordered Veleno's next move for the purple serpent to slither forwards. Though he wasn't well camouflaged by the soft green grass, he was fast enough so that the Nidoran could not escape his jaws as he snapped them shut around its chubby purple form. The Nidoran writhed in Veleno's grip, trying to break free of the snake's firm hold. Finally he did, jumping back and growling gently, crimson gaze locked on the snake as he waited for the next move. Though when he was sure that the snake would not attack him once again, he shot forwards and turned at the last possible moment, his legs splayed out as he quickly struck Veleno's nose. Whent he snake was least expecting it, he did it again, retreating when Veleno attempted to snap at his foot.He turned back and glared heavily at the snake Pokemon, a rivalship was certianly forming in between the two. Now the whole thing was at a stalemate, and both poison types only glanced at each other from a distance, as if neither was sure what to make of the other. A friend? An Enemy? One thing was for sure, none of them would know until this battle came to an end. __________________~~~****~~~~________________ VS.Wild Nidoran|Level 14| Health: 37%(15/41HP)Status: Normal Attack: A successful Double Kick! Watching a snake in motion was really quite a fascinating display, with their sinuous movements and incredible speed; the muscles bunching and tensing moments before the strike... Ah, truly she enjoyed watching Veleno battle, even if he got annoyed with his quarry and acted of his own accord. But after releasing the thrashing Nidoran♂, the Ekans backed off slightly and relaxed in a half-coiled position.
A spitting hiss rose from his half-open jaws as the rat kicked him indecently in the nose, which he retaliated against by snapping viciously at his feet. The Nidoran had already backed off and was staring at him determinedly, which only seemed to annoy the purple serpent. He reared half of his body off the ground to tower over the small rodent, golden eyes glorious and hypnotic as their gaze fell upon his foe. 'Come ti permetti!' Veleno hissed menacingly.
Tanya frowned as he swayed from side to side, as if thinking of darting in to gobble up the rat. His first battle under her command resulted in him nearly devouring an innocent Mareep, one she had caught and saved from his hungry jaws. It wasn't surprising that he could possibly want the other Poison type for a snack. But Veleno didn't strike without warning, nor did he seemed inclined to act quite so rashly without her command.
It was heartening to know he was starting to behave better; perhaps his scuffle against the powerful Azurill had made him rethink his actions a little more closely. "I know you're itching to take another chomp, but I'm interested in this plucky little fellow. Turn your Glare on it and show it how truly terrifying you are!" the fiery-haired girl called out to him, flashing an encouraging grin as Veleno turned to her.
He hissed, but there was a vicious grin on his face as his head turned back towards his quarry. 'Muoversi non piu, rat,' Veleno crooned as his eyes took on a bright golden glow. The snake deepened his glare to inflict a paralyzing fear into the heart and mind of the Nidoran♂, hoping to cease all movement and make it an easier target for his trainer to capture, though he dearly wished to eat the rat instead.

Nidoran, for at least a moment, was completely unaware that the snakes yellow eyes were focused on him, and he didn’t really care much for it at the moment either. However, once he did catch the Ekans sight and menacing glare, he froze, sparks suddenly flying from his fur. Now he was paralyzed. Nidoran struggled with his own feet,, trying to get them to move, but he couldn’t find a way to. So when it came his time to attack, he had to stand still, paralyzed by the sharp glare he had been given. He just couldn’t seem to find a way to attack, so he glanced back at the Ekans, almost in a glare. He waited now, because he was honest with himself, he wasn’t sure what the trainer was going to do next, but she probably wasn’t going to do anything he was going to like. So snorting, Nidoran was at least able to sit down as he waited to see what was going to happen next. __________________~~~****~~~~________________ VS.Wild Nidoran|Level 14| Health: 37%(15/41HP)Status: Paralyzed!Attack: N/A! Veleno caught the eyes of his victim and paralyzed it quickly, judging by the yellowish sparks that flew from the Nidoran♂'s fur. And it was also clear from the rodent's inability to dash forwards and make another attack on the pleased serpent. He hissed in pleasure, ignoring a shiver from the cold snow, and yawned once. The cold weather was making him sluggish, and any more fighting would probably end up with him unconscious somehow.
Tanya had her hand drifting to the other pocket of her long black winter coat, drawing out the empty Poké Balls she'd brought along with her in case of running into something she wanted. Grinning, the girl enlarged the ball and bounced it up and down in her palm. "Just a few more seconds and you can get all warm and snug, Veleno," she promised the tired serpent, who gazed back at her sleepily.
Ignoring the fanged yawn sent her way, Tanya lined up her sights with the paralyzed Poison-type and cocked her arm back. No way was she gonna miss out on capturing something potentially powerful, and she knew that these little fellas eventually evolved into great hulking beasts capable of causing mass destruction. On that thought she let her Poké Ball fly through the chilly, rainy night air towards the Nidoran♂ crouched in the snow.

The ball which had soared through the air cracked open and sucked Nidoran right inside. The ball fell to the floor and shook for a while, not stopping for a while as it hit the floor. Veleno watched with a certain disinterest as it continued, and finally came to a full halt. Veleno yawned again as it was clear that it would not come out again. Veleno felt a bit closer to evolution, but he yawned again as he realized that he still had a little ways to go before he could actually evolve, but for now he was good with being an Ekans. It had its perks. Now all Tanya had to do was give the damn Nidoran a name, and they could get going, at least Veleno thought so, and that was good enough for him. _________________________________________________ Capture~!Congratulations, Wild nidoran has been captured! Nidoran Name: Valhalla Gender: Male Level: 14 Attacks: Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick, Poison Sting Ability: Poison Point Nature: Brave Personality: A rather destructive Pokémon, Valhalla is rarely able to focus on more than one thing at a time and doesn't bother listening much to what Tanya asks of him beyond attacking. He also has an enormous appetite, and when not in a destroying mood, Valhalla is most often found eating, and his diet is not limited to human and Pokémon food. --
Tanya picked up the ball and grinned, watching it disappear as her new Nidoran♂ was sent to the PC. Veleno slithered over and up her body, resting on her considerably warmer shoulders. "Well as exciting as that battle was, I'm sure, you're not done yet," Tanya scolded the snake, patting him affectionately on the muzzle. He hissed in response and tightened his muscles, squeezing her neck. It wasn't any real danger to her life, though, and only made her shake her head ruefully.
She adjusted the umbrella and continued walking, her emerald eyes ever alert for anything that might go bump in the night. But after the encounter with Nidoran♂, nothing else felt like popping out to startle her. The girl looked at Veleno's dozing face and wondered if he would undergo a drastic personality shift upon evolution. It had happened to Ignitus and Angelus when they'd evolved, and honestly she was rather fond of his lazy, slightly moody nature.
A yawn broke her concentration, and the girl raised a hand to stifle it. The silent night was only disturbed by the patter of icy rain crashing against the trees and the gentle crunch of her boots in the ice-coated snow. Tanya brushed her auburn hair out of her face and sighed, stopping in her tracks. It was useless to wander so far from town at this late hour. "I might as well just take a breather and hope something else shows up," she muttered to herself.
Looking around, she spotted a log nestled under a rather broad pine tree and settled herself upon it, careful not to disturb Veleno. Taking another Poké Ball out, Tanya released Saphira, who immediately crowded close to her trainer. "Thanks hun," the teen replied, wrapping an arm around the crimson dragon, who rasped in response. The warmth emitted by her tail flame felt ridiculously good.
But it had also drawn in something she was surprised to see in the middle of winter. A little pink Hoppip had come to investigate the flame of Saphira's tail and was floating just out of reach. Veleno stirred, reinvigorated by the warming flame, and spotted the Hoppip. He hissed once and slid down and off of Tanya, dropping into the snow before assuming an offensive coiled stance. 'Signora Tanya, allow me to rid us of this pest,' Veleno crooned, baring his fangs and launching a Poison Sting at the Grass type.

Hoppip was very confused as the trainer suddenly ordered an attack on it. What had it done besides be curious? Hoppip was suddenly barraged by an array of sharp poisonous needles, and one managed to leak some of the Toxin into its bloodstream. Hoppip writhed a bit as it felt the discomfort of the poison which was now festering in its body. It attempted to breath steadily, but instead was met with the complication of each breath that it took. Hoppip managed to float forwards eventually, aided by the wind. The tiny creature bounded towards its target, which in this case was Veleno, and smacked into him, with much more effort than it needed. Veleno shook his head, he seemed very unaffected by the Hoppip’s attempts to hurt him, however hard it had tried. “Hopp…” It sang tiredly. After one hit the little pink puffball was already seriously exhausted. However, it wasn’t about to run away. It waited there, its leaves gently lifted by the wind now and again, round eyes on Tanya, as if waiting for her to attack. It knew it wasn’t going to win, but for sure the little Hoppip loved to fight. ___________________________________________________________ VS.Wild Hoppip |Level 13| Health: 33%(12/36HP)Status: Poisoned!Attack: A successful Tackle VS. When Veleno first attacked without warning, Tanya was startled but not really all that surprised; after all, he'd once defied her and attacked a Mareep without her guidance. Though he'd done well, the fact that he'd ignored her orders had always rankled her when she thought about it. But not every Pokémon was going to obediently obey a trainer, especially one caught in the wild versus a human-reared one like Saphira, who snuggled in even closer and shot Veleno a filthy look.
The Tackle he took in return seemed to barely faze him, and the serpent actually seemed amused by the light blow from the pink floating pixie. He watched it dance in the wind with his hypnotic golden eyes, tail quivering ever so gently. It was deathly weak, and one more attack would certainly finish it off. Tanya watched him staring at it like a kid enticed by something shiny that they wanted, and rolled her eyes. Sometimes snakes were just weird.
"Staring at it won't make it go away," she said dryly, watching his gaze shift to her. He snorted and shook his head, resuming watching the Hoppip for the right moment. Snakes were opportune hunters, waiting for the perfect chance to strike. It was a small window that they patiently sought out. And with how speedy and unexpected their attacks could be, there was little chance something small like a Hoppip could avoid such an unpredictable attack.
'This will be rapido, little puff,' Veleno whispered in a singsong voice, head rising further off the ground as he arched his neck back. A few seconds passed before the serpent's head suddenly darted forwards, spitting another cluster of poisonous nettles aimed at Hoppip's underside.

Veleno certainly didn’t waste time, and Hoppip realized this. The battle was all over long before it even started. Easily, The young pink ball had been taken out by the flurry of Poison needles released at it. Before Tanya could move though, a Skipploom landed right on the Hoppip, shouting words of no doubt anger at the trainer and Pokemon before scooping up the young Pokemon and floating away. Now that, was weird. Veleno suddenly felt a shift in him, and he knew it was time now to evolve. But, like all Pokemon, as he started to glow, he held it off a little bit. He wanted to see what Tanya would want him to do. Evolve or not evolve, it was always normally up to the trainer. Though the light that was engulfing him was beautifully blinding, and Many wild Pokemon came out to observe what was happening to Veleno, because since it was so long since they saw it happen before their very eyes, it was indeed quite the spectacle. __________________________________________________________ Victory!~ Wild Hoppip was defeated!

A quick end awaited the Hoppip, and soon after it was sprayed with more poisonous nettles, it fainted, drifting slowly and rather comically towards the ground. Before anyone could act, a green Skiploom came in out of nowhere and clutched the limp Hoppip, yelling at Tanya as she stared, wide-eyed, at it and soared away. Veleno smirked as he watched his handiwork be carried off before shaking his head rather violently as an odd spasm gripped his body.
'Padrona! The change...' he hissed at Tanya, looking worriedly at his trainer, moment before a blinding light engulfed his body. And through it, he managed to see the girl nod nearly imperceptibly. This sealed the deal, and though he was rather wrought with anxiety, he was also curious as to what evolution would bring for him. The glow intensified, causing Tanya and Saphira to shield their eyes.
When it settled down, Tanya lowered her arm and let out a low whistle. No longer was there a slender purple serpent coiled in the snow before her, but a rather elegant looking cobra with its hood spread wide raised off the ground and staring steadily at her. The markings displayed in his hood were rather terrifying to Saphira, who trembled before ducking her head against Tanya's shoulder. But to the girl, they were exquisite and only enhanced the beauty of the snake.
His slender pink tongue darted out as Veleno tasted the air, realizing his senses had grown much more powerful. 'How interesting,' he crooned, slithering over slowly to his trainer, head turning every which way. 'Move Signora Tanya, lizard,' he snapped at Saphira. The dragon growled softly but nudged her trainer up and to the side, both curious and worried about what he wanted to do.
Veleno studied the log for a heartbeat before his head leapt down like purple lightning, splintering the wet wood in half with a powerful Crunch attack. Pleased, he turned back to Tanya and nodded that he was done. Tanya recalled him, beaming with pride, before shoving the ball in her coat pocket. She looked up towards the sky, her hair blown about by a cold, brittle wind like an autumn leaf. "Looks like the rain's clearing up a little," Tanya said lightly to Saphira, sticking out her tongue as drifting snowflakes began spinning down from the light gray clouds and catching a few.
She released Ever into the snow before she became too distracted and watched the Purrloin dash about in a silly manner, giggling and making prints where the snow lay untouched. "C'mere you little rascal, mama has a present for ya," Tanya beckoned, crouching down and holding out a thin black necklace. Tied to it was a light purple stone with a brilliant shine to it that seemed to emanate a protective aura. Ever mewled and dashed over, standing patiently as Tanya laid the Eviolite necklace round her neck.
"Now take care of that. We've got some more battles to do and I'm not gonna spend the night looking for something that small," the red-haired girl warned her feline. The Dark-type winked an emerald eye at her before jumping around Saphira, batting at her much shinier golden dragon pendant and generally annoying the older Pokémon. Tanya paid them little attention, however, as her eyes were riveted on a little creature that came skating along the ice-slicked snow as if gliding on water.
Ever noticed it as well and stopped with her play to bound over towards it, stopping a few feet away before turning her head to the side. It was an interesting looking thing, with its spindly legs and adorable face. "Alright, this should be good practice for you! Ever, try an Assist attack!" Tanya ordered, recalling that the move usually pulled a random move from any of the Pokémon on her team. It was a risky measure, but she was curious to witness the move in action, and it couldn't hurt.

With Veleno’s recent change came a new battle for Ever. Ever gave a small mew as her paws began to itch in anticipation. Surskit was to her opposite side, skidding on its thin needle-looking legs, also eager to fight the dark type. Ever’s emerald eyes glowed as her paws tingled with the power of assist. Her mind was scanning all her team members for a possible attack, and the dial seemed to land on Astrid, the young Sandile on the team, the move setting itself up. Ever’s eyes became scary as they lit up with the energy all packed into one glare, signifying that she had just used the move leer. Surskit shook as the attack shook her very core, leaving an ill feeling as its defense was lowered by the quick little cat. Surskit retaliated quickly with a small flurry of bubbles, which all popped against the kitten’s tiny form. Ever scowled as the water dripped from her features, growling softly as she shook her coat. This little thing didn’t need to go as far as using water. Ever looked back at Tanya, telling her it was alright to command something else of her now. _______________________________________________________ VS.Wild Surskit |Level 12| Health: 100% (35/35HP)Status: Bubbles Everywhere~;Defense (-1)!
