As the prehistoric terror unleashed a shocking onslaught against the ground itself with its thumping fork like tail jamming itself abruptly into the ground over and over, both Mephisto and Hexxus could foretell this would not only impact the enemy target but also them. "OOooooOOOoOOOOooooOOOOOOOoooooh! Mephisto my good companion! You must simply do SOMETHING about this. At this rate, our fossilised friend will do us in as well! Tut tut!" Fully aware of this, Mephisto's eyes glowed a bright colour as both of their bodies were enveloped in a soft glow. Using his powerful telekinetic power, the psychic Pokemon raised them both in the air and out of harm's way as they made a very narrow escape and dodged the resounding tremors which wrecked havoc below. As they observed the battle progress, they could see Ridley's rampage forcing even the steadfast Stantler to go tumbling backwards as it slammed into a nearby tree, having bore the brunt of the earthquake offensive. Letting out snarl like laughter, Ridley laid off his assault as he took in the sight of having claimed a bit of dominance over the foe.
"Screeeeee! If this is all the modern world has to offer in the way of challenge, I am very much disappointed." Since being revived at the hands of Joey himself at the Goldenrod Research Facility, Ridley had struggled to come to terms with what had happened. It was always something of a vicious brute that ruled the skies of its prehistoric world but now, the world was warped, twisted. Different. It was as if he had woke up on a different planet. Realising that nothing would ever be the same, the only real solace or resemblance the Aerodactyl could draw from this day and age was engaging in cruel and savage battles. It may not have been quite the same but even for a moment, it was enough to let him relive his days long since passed. His comrade Zidane surely had a similar predicament. As long as they drew breath in this new age, they would never truly belong. Watching as the Stantler got back up and resumed itself for battle, Ridley smirked as he flapped his wings to keep himself aloft. "Heh, pathetic meatsnack. You would be nothing but a tasty morsel in my day. Perhaps once this is done, i'll have my way."
Leering his eyes sadistically, Ridley would sadly be refrained from enacting out such an outcome. Noticing the Stantler cross over the uneven and destroyed terrain, the flying bully snickered as he called out the stag on its reaction. "Heh heh heh. What's the matter meatsnack? Upset that your home is upturned? Get used to it! By the time i'm through, this place will be unrecognisable!" Standing resolute, Hexxus and Mephisto watched keenly as they could tell the Pokemon was about to retaliate. Expecting a fearsomely devastating move that would put Ridley in his place, they were taken off guard by the Pokemon's antlers seemingly twisting and becoming disorientating. Averting their gaze, they instead were alarmed to the fact that Ridley appeared to be acting differently from his usual psychotic self. "Mmmmmhmmm? Mephisto! Don't look now but I do think our potential recruit has showed some incredible promise in tricking even Ridley! I... Ooohoo. I don't like that look in his eye! Shudder at the look." Examining the situation from a different perspective, Mephisto delved, or at least attempted to, into Ridley's mind. Barely able to set a foot in, Mephisto could tell the Pokemon's already limited mind was in a state of chaos and upheaval. It was as if it had been transported back to its true era, seeing the world around it not as it was.
"NEIN! At this rate, Ridley will..." Having realised too late, Mephisto took evasive action as Ridley soared past them as he let out an ear piercing shriek, flying through the air. Clearly seeing prey from his own time, he went about attacking without prejudice as he slash, rammed and chomped down on whatever got in his way. "Screee! Screeee! SCREEEEEEEEEEE!" Still levitating in the air, the team of Mephisto and Hexxus had little option else but to try and force a capture and reign in the extinct beast. "Hmph! An impressive feat of trickery but your machinations fall short against the might of Mephisto! Behold! Bow before your true master!" Levitating a blue and yellow device out of his jacket's pocket, Mephisto used what spare power he had to prime and launch the capture device and send it rocketing forward towards the Stantler. If they could remove this indomitable threat, they would at least have more of a chance in dealing with Ridley himself. Making a quick duck as they lowered their altitude, they barely just dodged Ridley from crashing into them. "SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Lowering it's head defensively, the Stantler watched as the power of it's confuse ray took some effect, completely changing the way Ridley was seeing his surroundings. Thinking he was back in his prehistoric time, he quickly became distracted but because of this, he had become that much harder to read. Not able to see what Ridley himself was seeing, all the Stantler could do at this point was wait patiently and dodge any potential attacks. It may not be Ridley's current target thanks to this distraction but the Aerodactyl was still unpredictable as he clawed through the air with his mighty wings. He had already tore up the very earth around them, so what other attacks were in the creatures arsenal was beyond the Stantler. All it wanted to do was protect it's home and even though Ridley was one target, even if it managed to succeed in somehow winning, there was still the problem of the other two Pokemon close by.
Turning it's head, the large antlers followed as it's own eyes glared straight to Mephisto. Although he was still wearing the trench coat and hat, with it's psychic powers the Stantler could sense that this creature was a Pokemon. This was only further confirmed earlier when Mephisto had used his powers to save both himself and Hexxus from the Earthquake. Hoping it could quickly use a similar tactic of confuse ray on the pair to halt the duo's plans, the last thing it expected was a Pokeball to be thrown at it. Taken aback at the sight, it flinched as the ball tapped against it's body, light drawing it inside. With all it's might, the Stantler began to struggle violently and was so close to escaping. Maybe it was the luck of Joe rubbing off onto his team members.

As the ball soared off and did its job, Mephisto and Hexxus were left floating in the air through the powers of Mephisto's telekinesis. "Mhmhmhmhmhm, truly my good friend Mephisto, your powers are limitless. This plan would not nearly have succeeded as much without your assistance." Remaining quiet, he was listening to what the Grimer was saying but he was more preoccupied with reorientating themselves to avoid Ridley's disillusioned rampage. Tapping into the psychic energies of the environment around them he could tell the Aerodactyl wasn't far off. Making a sudden rise in their altitude, a grey blur soared past below them. "SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!" "Hmph. Your words fall on deaf ears. This is more to save my own skin." As he finished, a resounding ting coursed through the air. Realising that their capture had been successful despite such a tough, defiant foe, Mephisto quickly used his telekinetic energies to scoop up the ball and bring it into the conjured orbicular field. "Another pawn in this game of chess. Ohohohmhmhm. We'll need more stronger additions in order to secure our might. Myeeeeees... MwaaaHMM?!" "SCREEEEEEEEEE!" At that very moment, Ridley had come out of nowhere and with a strange, ancient energy about him swooped between Mephisto and Ridley, causing the psychic field to be torn in two.
Only able to secure the area once more for himself, Mephisto watched as Hexxus fell through the air. "Hmmmmm... Some sort of ancient power. Has this confusing spell reawakened some of Ridley's more primordial energies?" Spinning on a one hundred and eighty degree motion, Mephisto looked to pinpoint where Ridley was now and try to use his psychic powers to dispel the confuse ray that had been placed upon the pterodactyl. Watching as the Aerodactyl performed a u-turn, Mephisto raised both of his hands, gripping onto his spoon to amplify and project his powers into delving into Ridley's brain and freeing him from the madness that had consumed him. "SCREEEEEEEEEE!" Ridley's body now alight with the same primordial energy that had shrouded him before, Mephisto fired off a huge burst of energy that wiped through the fossil Pokemon's brain, ridding him of the infliction. Flapping his wings at an angle, Ridley came to a halt as he came visibly to his senses, shaking his head around. "Ungh. Where is the prey?! That dubious trickster transported me back to my own world!"
Shaking his head, Mephisto clarified the situation succinctly. "It was an illusion." The moment he finished, a sudden blood curdling cry for help could be heard. "HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP!" "That voice... Hexxus." Controlling himself to float around in the direction of the cry, the Kadabra was smart enough to piece together that given his landing trajectory, it was obvious he had landed in one of the tall trees on his descent down from when Ridley had crashed into them. Turning to Ridley, Mephisto leered his eyes. "Hmph, we had best rescue the slimy tempter. He has our Pokeballs within his oozing body and if he should fall, i'd rather not our Pokeballs fall in the wrong hands or worse." Not one to take orders, Ridley weighed up the risk and worth in his mind and agreed quite easily. "Rargh. Allow me. I think it's time I use this new found power. The charlatan meatsnack may have tricked me but he appears to have unlocked a new power from within. Time to unleash Ancient Power!"
Flapping his wings a couple of times, the Aerodactyl went flying into the nest of trees. Eventually spotting Hexxus' cause for concern, it appeared he had been cornered by a Staravia. Although to Ridley it was but another stranger in a strange land. Hexxus now having made his escape, Ridley was now on the forefront of battle. "Hah! What cruel twist of fate is this? Am I being mocked so much that the future decides to lead evolution into this?! A flapping, fluffy joke?!" His mind seething with anger, the prehistoric Pokemon was fully ready to take on this Pokemon. Although his kind had died out long ago, it appeared that those with the affinity to fly had since evolved, or devolved in Ridley's opinion to be something of a walking joke with such a ludicrous amount of feathers.

Staravia had a mind to slurp up the sickly Pokemon for a snack, despite the awful taste and bellyache it'd feel in the morning. Such a weak, under-leveled Pokemon in it's presence was almost a joke. Clicking it's beak together with hunger and amusement, Staravia gloated. "Poor thing. You're shaking like a garbage disposal." Snickering at it's own joke, Staravia took a step forward, towards Hexus. "What's a weak little Pokemon like you doing out here all alone, eh? You didn't just want to be a gross little snack, did you?" The avian ruffled his feathers and prepared to induldge on the slimy mess until something approached. Whipping it's head around, Staravia noticed the psychic Pokemon, as well as a prehistoric behemoth.
Taking the distraction for what it was worth, Hexxus dodged the danger and had slithered his way back under the protection of the new Pokemon. Staravia's beak curled with distaste. "You would have tasted awful anyway." Whatever helped the avian sleep at night. Ridley seemed to be the first challenger here, and before Staravia could open it's beak for a snarky remark, Ridley had already made one. Taken aback by the nature of the comment, Staravia contemplated it's options. This Pokemon swelled with power. An ancient power that Staravia probably couldn't match. So, might as well have some fun with it, eh?
"Or maybe nature improved. I'm alive after all, and you had to be reanimated. There was a good reason your kind were dead. Don't hate the player, hate the game." Staravia moved it's wings in what could only be interpreted as an avian shrug. "But if you do wish to make a mockery, at least have the decency to feel my power, you rocky behemoth." Staravia knew that a battle was coming, so better to take as many shots as possible. Hexxus provided enough distraction for that. It's wings glew a bright white as it flew into the air, practically disappearing with it's speed. Another second later it slammed it's wing into Ridley's side, speeding past the prehistoric Pokemon with ease.
It didn't go without warrant, though. Angrily, the Aerodactyl released a torrential downpour of ancient rock, instilled with a prideful energy. This Pokemon was strong. Taken from the sky, the rocks plummeted Staravia to the ground without so much as a second thought. However, the bird stood back up, shakily, and eyed Ridley. Taking it's steps, although burdened and practically destroyed, Staravia continued to approach for an attack. As it walked, it's wings glew. "Perhaps you are as strong as you were before. But remember..." Weakly, it struck Ridley's hide. "There was a reason you died out." Ready to face it's fate, Staravia clicked it's beak in defiance. His vicious heart beating with the animosity and drive to rip this mouthy Pokemon to shreds, Ridley merely grinned with his lengthy maw and let the Staravia have its say. Ultimately, no matter what it said, it would always come out on top as it didn't have some poncey, ridiculous plumage that made it look like the butt of all jokes. "Hrngh, SCREEEEE! By the time i'm done toying with your carcass, we'll see who is alive. They will need more than a research facility to reanimate you back together." His eye glinting with brute malice, Ridley at least felt content he would have a proper battle on his own terms. The Stantler from before was a good contender until it pulled that little stunt in tricking himself into thinking he was soaring free back in his own time. Instead, he was still stuck in this dump of a modern world. "Heh, heh, heh. I'll have you eating your own words by the time this is through. A strange saying, no doubt an invention of the modern age but indeed. Don't hate the player, hate the game." Swishing his prehensile tail as if to reiterate what he had said, it seemed as if Ridley wasn't too ancient he wasn't picking up modern day colloquialisms.
The only problem was, his attempt at smiting the Staravia into oblivion would have to wait. Having come to Hexxus' aide, who at this point, had oozed out of sight completely into the tree itself, it meant his intervention would cost him a round. Adrenaline pumping, the Aerodactyl was keen to take on this modern day flying Pokemon. Not really knowing what the Staravia was capable of, Ridley let out a fighting roar as the Pokemon disappeared. Not really able to seek for the Pokemon, Ridley was caught off guard as the bird suddenly crashed into him with a superb example of aerial ace. Something Ridley would have to hone his skills on if he ever wanted to fly as precise as that. "Hnnngrrrkkk-SCREEEEEEEEEEEEE! Your actions prove nothing to me. This modern age of prey seems to encourage trickery and agility over what counts. I shall relish eviscerating you, little chickadee." Utilising his new found powers, Ridley was successful in striking at the bird, harnessing the ancient power to strike an overwhelming blow of his opponent. Truly enjoying the turn of events, Ridley grew closer to the Staravia, even taking another feeble hit as he approached ever nearer.
Listening to Ridley believed to be the Staravia's last words, Ridley scoffed despondently at what the winged combatant had reminded. "A reason? A REASON?! There was no reason. It was simply an accident. Just as this modern day world and YOU are an accident of birth. Reason does not come into this." His protruding maw grinning to flash his carnivorous long teeth, Ridley made a counter point. "That simple mistake will be reversed. My revival will bring about a new age." His body now simmering with the aura of primordial might, it seemed as if Ridley would crush his rival beneath his powers but was interrupted by the sudden yell of a voice. "DESIST!" Ushering forward with the powers of levitation, Mephisto entered the fray, ready to bring this to an end on his terms, not the sadistic conclusion Ridley had hoped for. "For this creature to have stood toe to toe with you. He will be of use for our rebellion." Agitated, Ridley let out a bloodthirsty snarl. This had happened far too often. "There will be no rebellion if you do not let me have my fun."
Shaking his head, Mephisto denied his assertion. "Our numbers are growing, that much is certain but if we do not bolster them further, we will be returned. Surely you are smart enough to realise this? Not even the might of Mephisto will be able to protect us all." Letting out a disagreeing snarl, Ridley backed off. "So help me..." Turning to face the Staravia, Mephisto's eyes glowed without saying so much a word as he stared down the creature. Levitating an Ultraball out of his jacket pocket, he used his powers to prime it and with a sudden burst forward, aimed to capture the Pokemon.

The Staravia remained silent as the pain of the flurry of rocks that had struck it's body began to sink in. Upon seeing Ridley, the avian knew it stood no chance but it's pride and confidence were not faltered by the presence of the Aerodactyl at all. Despite knowing that it was not going to win, the Staravia had decided to stand it's ground and fight Ridley off, even if it was a one sided battle. It had tried to come across as intimidating with it's use of words to knock Ridley down a peg or two but it was completely useless. Retaliating back, the brown avian was amazed that the once fossilized Pokemon was able to snap back so quickly. Beginning to wonder if the words it had previously spoken had enraged the Aerodactyl enough to truly end it's very existence, the Staravia needed to remain focused. It's vision had become somewhat blurred due to it's injuries, so even when it looked up to see what Ridley was planning next, all it could truly see was a mass of purple and a mighty maw. Clicking it's beak, all the Staravia could rely on was it's speed but even then, it knew it couldn't leave successful in this battle.
Breathing out it's chest heavily, the Starvia was about to ascend to move in for another strike, as it planned to atleast go down fighting. But a different voice soon spoke out, it's strange, coated body levitating forward and seemingly conversing with Ridley. Eyes scanning from the huge beast to the humanoid shaped creature, the Staravia clicked it's beak with a tut. It had thought Ridley to be an untameable beast but with a few convincing words, this mysterious figure had caused him to back off. Wondering just what they were planning, the bird suddenly panicked as an object of some sort was tossed right it's way. It was about to be captured. Lifting a wing in attempt to bat the ball away, the Staravia was unsuccessful in delaying it's fate as very quickly, it was drawn into the ball and locked into place.

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEE. I tire of these silly antics. Return me. I've stretched my wings, seen the world this modern age has to offer and i'm not impressed. For now i'd rather dwell on things." Looming over Mephisto, the psychic type craned his neck up but did little to show any sign of fear. It was odd, Mephisto had been deeply terrified of these prehistoric brutes at the beginning of this escapade but having grown in power himself and having put his foot down, he had realised they were peons just like anything else below him. He may not have been able to tap into their ancient brains and been able to mind control them but he at least had his telekinetic ability to control their movements and impede any would be assaults. "Well shaman? Or are you wanting a taste of my ancient power?" "Hmph. As you wish." Returning Ridley to his Pokeball, the Kadabra turned just in time as he noted that the Staravia had been bought into their fold. "Gah hah hah! To think a Pokemon such as that stood up to Ridley and survived. I will keep this one for my own personal guard... HM?" Having absent mindedly been babbling to himself quietly, the Pokemon had eventually realised that there was the presence of another amongst him.
Turning around, he watched as Hexxus oozed out of a crack in the tree. It appeared when the battle sparks had begun flying, he had minimised himself into a chip in the tree and had hidden himself away for safety. "Mhmhmhm. It appears i've perfected my ability to minimise. I've had it come in waves. When I came into the delightful company of you all I had defected sides on the sole of the motormouth's boots. But now I can do so at will. Oho. Ohohohoho. Ohohohohohohoho mmhmhmhmhm myes." Rapidly shrinking and enlarging himself, it was befitting of a cowardly schemer such as he. Levitating the Pokeball into his jacket pocket, Mephisto was suddenly made aware of a third presence in the midst. Flaring up his psychic veil, he noticed a speeding blur aiming at Hexxus. It appeared the Pokemon's vile stench and comical antics had stirred up the ire of a nearby Pokemon. "Hexxus you dummkopf fool!" Given the Grimer was at the fore front, Mephisto teleported himself into the front lines and now positioned himself to take on the unknown assailant head on. If Hexxus was knocked out, there would be no telling what would happen with Mephisto's Pokeball. He was not stupid enough to risk a wandering nearby trainer attempting to pocket it for himself. He had already tolerated the indentured servitude of the blockhead. "FEEL THE POWER OF MEPHISTO!" Striking a pose, he stretched his arm out forward and prepared to unleash a psychic barrage.

A wild Nidorino (Level 29) has been encountered!
Made aware of the loud screeches caused by Ridley, a Pokemon who much prefered the ground had stomped towards the source of the noise but missed the sight of the prehistoric Pokemon, as he was withdrawn back into his Pokeball before the creature could make it on time. Rustling noisily out of a bush, a bigger and bulkier Pokemon made his presence known, a Nidorino. Just a special rock away from evolving into a mighty King, the creature was known to be violent and attack anything on sight. So when it heard such bone chilling cries, he had hoped to find a worthy opponent. Instead, each heavy thump of his feet had led him to a disgusting smell which continued to grow ever stronger and much more potent. His steely eyes falling on the sight of a shrinking and enlarging pile of filthy sludge, the Nidorino grunted to itself and raised his horn up into the air. If anyone along this god forsaken route was going to take down the source of the foul stench, it was going to be this Pokemon.
Charging forward with heavy thuds alerting his arrival to the scene, the Nidorino continued his dash toward Hexxus but immediately stopped as a cloaked figure seemingly teleported right before the sludge, almost protectively. Grinding his huge feet against the earth to stop his charge, the Nidorino snorted angrily out of his nostrils before roaring threateningly at Mephisto. Lowering his head, the Nidorino glared menacingly through the darkness that shielded Mephisto's face. Leering his startling eyes, it gave the Kadabra a rush of nerves but to protect his Pokeball which was lodged in the body of Hexxus, he was prepared to shake off the fearsome stares. Summoning all his psychic ability, the Kadabra lifted his hands and created an orb of energy which he then shot forward to engulf the Nidorino into a world of pain and confusion. Feeling his entire body drown in this immense psychic energy, it took every ounce of his strength but the Nidorino refused to give up. Fighting through the pain, the Pokemon moved forward in a running motion, jumping into the air as it came within close enough range to Mephisto. Jabbing it's poisonous horn forward, he pinned the Kadabra to the ground with his body, horn stabbing through the Kadabra's fragile flesh.

Finally coming face to face with the reckless interloper, Mephisto stayed his arm outstretched as he looked at the purple creature dead in the eye. "Hmph. It would appear we have another firebrand to add to our sortie." Able to tell from not only the Pokemon's rough and ready demeanour but also from tapping into the psychic energies around it, this was certainly a tough foe not to be taken lightly. Whilst he was concentrating and observing the Pokemon's energies, the Kadabra was taken off guard as the Nidorino leered its eyes threateningly, causing Mephisto back off slightly as he was not expecting such a glare from this Pokemon. Feeling his body quake somewhat, it was rare that he encountered a Pokemon that was able to produce such a look. However, he would not be outright cowered. "Dummkopf, you leer at me but that will get you nowhere. Tremble, for I am Mephisto, your new master!" His arm having built up enough psychic power, he shot it forwards with extreme prejudice, hoping to subdue the Pokemon and weaken it just enough to capture it. Watching as the Pokemon racked its brains painfully as if trying to shake off the psychic barrage, Mephisto glowed his eyes as he intensified the pain. "Gah hah hah! Know the pain you will feel should you dare question my greatness."
So wrapped up in the fact he had almost mentally broken the Pokemon's mind like glass being shattered upon impact, the Kadabra was blinded to the fact the Nidorino had some incredible mental resilience as he began charging forward, his violent, prominent horn now pointing forwards as he lowered his head and began charging forwards. "FOOL! Do not dare...!" Half tempted to strike again, Mephisto quickly tried to use his powers of teleportation to get out of harm's way but it was too late. As the horn penetrated him, he felt the Nidorino push onwards, jamming him into the tree. Now pinned by the brutish mammal, Mephisto let out a pained cry of agony. Unable to muster enough physical strength to fend off the Pokemon and in so much pain his psychic powers were failing him, his scrawny, skeletal like arm fell to his jacket pocket, taking out an Ultraball, he lifted it up meekly as he felt his vision blur. "Cur... Bow... Before... ME!" It was a risky gamble, with no other way to get rid of the Nidorino, the only option for it was to banish him into the ball and free himself from the pinned position he was in. Minimised from the sudden ambush of the Nidorino, Hexxus watched from afar, bubbling delightfully at the chaos.

As the Grimer giggled and bubbled to itself, Mephisto was caught between the Nidorino (a rock) and the tree (a hard place.) Using his psychic powers, the capturing capsule began to levitate towards the Nidorino. The Pokemon wasn't aware, however, as the only thing it could see was Mephisto's stomach and the ground. Try as it may, the Pokemon tugged and tugged, attempting to free its horn from the tree. Granted, the brutish Pokemon knew it had the upper hand, but taking another head-first psychic blast wasn't on it's menu right now. Bracing its arms against the tree and Mephisto as best as it could, it began pushing on Mephisto's stomach in an attempt to use the force to pry itself away. Mephisto's choice had been a good one; get the Nidorino off with a Pokeball. Nidorino didn't know what was happening, nor did it understand. As the tiny capsule clicked against it's back, it was engulfed in a bright light. Slowly it dematerialized in the red light before it was completely sucked into the capsule without so much as a second shake of it's horn. Now that the Nidorino was fighting in the ball, Mephisto was freed from his pointy predicament. The wound would heal, assuming it was treated to eventually. Otherwise, it would possibly scar. However, it was nothing that the Kadabra couldn't handle. Nidorino was in another boat. Any other Pokeball chosen would have had a harder time containing the brutish beast. This Ultra Ball served as a good prison, though. Despite Nidorino's attempts at breaking the seal, siding, and whatever else it could ram it's horn and legs into, the ball merely shook. Disappearing into the cusp of the Ultraball, Mephisto let out a splutter as he stumbled forward, finally free from the predicament he had been forced into. Staggering forwards, he clasped onto his sides and realised that he was bleeding as he stared at the blood on his hands. "Hnnngh... That... Beast..." Trying to concentrate, he cared little whether it was captured or not. Trying to use his powers, he closed his eyes to focus better and used his psychic telekinetic ability to apply pressure on his wound and seal it off from running the risk of getting any infections. "Unnnf... That should do it. That was inches off from anything vital." Gasping in pain, the Kadabra attempted standing up right as he tumbled backwards and leaned himself up against the tree he had been pinned too. In this time, it appeared the capsule had finally successfully caught the menace, meaning that they had nothing to worry about for the interim.
"Mhmmhmhmhmhmhm, so considerate of you to take the blow for me, my dear friend. It was almost as if you were trying to protect something so desperately~" Knowing full well what Mephisto was trying to protect, that didn't stop the Grimer from taunting him with the fact he had possession of his Pokeball. Oozing from out of his hiding place, Hexxus moved closer and examined the wound he had received from the Nidorino. "Deary me! To think that brute horn could have jabbed me right through. Why, he might have even destroyed your Pokeball. What a terrible fate." Bubbling as he picked up the Nidorino's Pokeball, he placed it into Mephisto's jacket pocket. A pocket which was now bulging with the amount of Pokemon they had procured. "Just remember who runs this show, myes~? Ohohohoho." Gloating over a weakened Mephisto, it appeared that Hexxus was all too happy to relish in other Pokemon's misery. "Hmph... You act as if i'm on my death bed. And is it not you who is forgetting you need my disguise to keep us free from the threat of trainers? You need me as much as I need you." Leering his eyes, Mephisto mumbled to himself. "Dummkopf."
As he finished, his psychic powers alerted him to the presence of another Pokemon. "Achtung...! That Nidorino was not alone...!" Trying to push himself up against the tree, Hexxus shrunk in size, now fearful for his own hide. "Goodness, goodness me! Quickly! You must call a worthy champion to our defences! Call upon the prehistoric brutes! Or you should..." Looking to Mephisto, he realised he was in no state to be fighting. Not caring which Pokemon would be their defender, Mephisto levitated a ball out of his pocket and summoned the creature. Both expecting the terrifying might of Ridley or Zidane to save them, they were both let down as they noticed a very small creature had come to their rescue. "I was beginning to think you had ditched me." Quickly assessing the situation, Scar got a rough idea that things weren't going particularly well. Sensing the vibrations from the rampaging Nidorina that was approaching, Scar assumed a stance. Saying nothing, Scar would take on the foe but it seemed Mephisto had a capture ball ready in the wings to throw the moment it showed itself.

A wild Nidorina (Level 26) has appeared!
Following swiftly behind the earlier Nidorino earlier was a potential mate, a Nidorina. Always inspired by the males ever growing strength and courage, the female had shyly remained in the bushes, hanging back to watch her hero battle. Almost jumping out of her hiding place in excitement as the Nidorino managed to pushed the mysterious figure up against a tree and pierce him for daring to land a hit, the wild Nidorina was certain he would be victorious but couldn't have expected what actually occurred. A ball flying out of the pocket of the disguised Kadabra, with a few shakes her one true love had been drawn inside and captured without much of a fight. For her beloved Nidorino to be taken away just like that, it either meant that his opponent was incredibly strong or he just flat out cheated.
Becoming full of a mixture of rage and sorrow at the thought of not being able to see the Nidorino again, the Nidorina stepped out of her hiding place. She refused to let things end this way and was more than willing to intervene at this point. Roaring, she began to jog forward on her heavy feet, determined to finish what the Nidorino had started. But as she approached, a completely new Pokemon appeared with a flash, standing in the way of her being able to get a clear shot at Mephisto. Her eyes glaring venomously, she figured it to be fine, she was more than willing to squash any bug which got in her way. Picking up the pace, she began to approach at a much faster speed. But before Scar was actually able to make use of himself, Mephisto decided on a different way to end this matter. Using his psychic powers to toss a Quick Ball, the Nidorina's glare was so heavily entwined with Scar's that she didn't see it coming. Feeling her conciousness be drawn into the device, she felt like sobbing. Was she never going to see her precious Nidorino again?
WIGGLE. WIGGLE. WIGGLE. . . . TING!

Probing into the Nidorina's thoughts, Mephisto could tell that the Nidorino that had so painfully skewered him up against the wall had been the object of this new arrival's affections. Even if he didn't have his psychic powers to be able to confirm this, he would have reached a similar conclusion. There was one thing that was uncertain however and that was whether or not this creature would be as much of a threat as her mate. Aware of a Nidorina's appearance, Mephisto was aware that she carried now piercing horn much to his relief but that didn't ease him entirely. Far from it. There was obviously going to be an underlying characteristic which would make up for the lack of a horn such as that. Hearing her roar as she jogged into view, Mephisto called out to Scar. " Ready yourself! It appears we have split the happy couple apart." Remaining resolute in his stance, Scar merely narrowed his eyes as he took in the sight of the rampaging Nidorina. To him, he had faced far worse. In fact, this was small fry compared to the titans he had gone up against and one back in his home region. The only one that could have really claimed any sort of victory over him was the Haxorus he had taken on in the hopes of felling. However, the battle became botched and he was left with a parting scar across the side of his body. This scar was the very basis for his namesake. Thankfully not baring any axe like tusks, the Venipede was content in the fact it wasn't going to be getting any more scars across its body. The worst it would have to deal with is just a rampaging stomp or two, nothing its resilient hide couldn't handle. " Do not concern yourself. I have this." Even if he was acting as a defensive barrier or as bait, the poison centipede was ready to strike on the off chance this gambit failed. Reading a toxic stinger, it would take care of this Nidorina quite easily. A deadly assassin of sorts, Scar had already surmised which artery it would have to pierce with its poison stinger to result in a swift victory. Aware that this group of villains needed their numbers padding out, he was wary of killing her but needs must. Thankfully it would not have to come to that. As Mephisto guided the Quickball to its target, the Pokemon was enveloped in a warm light and bought under control. Not taking his eyes off for a moment, the Venipede was aware of capture attempts going horribly wrong. This was a shrewd creature which would leave nothing to chance. Thankfully, the Quickball was successful in its task and the Nidorina was captured. No sooner than it had, the capsule floated back over to Mephisto who pocketed it away. " Hmph hmph hmph. I like you Scar. Always-" Taken off guard by the centipede suddenly bursting out with a strobe of light, Mephisto raised his hand to cover his assaulted eyes. " Mein Gott, what is going on?!" Oozing up to normal size, Hexxus too had been taken aback by the sudden expulsion of light scattering over the area. " OooooOOOooooooOOOOOooooOOOOh! I daresay our good friend is evolving into a mightier form! Oh the exhilaration~~ THE THRILL~~!!" Moments later, the blinding light subsided revealing the new and improved killing machine that was Scar. " It has been so long since I battled. The thrill was enough to tip me over the edge. Hmm... An interesting new form." He rolled about in his new rolled up form. Despite evolving, it seemed he still bore the lengthy scar going down his left side. Pleased by their ranks growing stronger, Mephisto had little time to congratulate. Picking up more presences in the vicinity around them, it seemed they had rattled the hornet's nest. They were knee deep in Nido territory. " Curses! Scar! On my count, move out of the way!" Having picked up on a Nidorina hurtling towards them from out in the bushes, Mephisto waited for Scar to act as bait before teleporting into the battle and readying his innate powers to overwhelm the assaulting party with his Psychic attack. Considering he had just evolved, now wasn't the time for the rolled up centipede to get used to his new form. OOC: Letting Scar evolve. Replacing Poison Sting and Rollout with Bug Bite and Poison Tail. Not learning Iron Defence as he evolves.
For next battle, requesting another Nidorina. Scar is up front but is swapped in first round to Mephisto who then uses psychic.

A wild Nidorina (Level 30) has been encountered!
Managing to successfully capture the Nidorina, this along with the taking of the Nidorino earlier may not have been the best idea of Mesphito. Scar, upon entering the battle and readying himself to attack, had been reminded of his sense of survival, a world of kill or be killed, which pushed him onward to evolve. But this bright flash of light angered the several pairs of eyes which lurked in the bushes, their pupils glaring through the shadows of the foliage and settling eerily on the group of rebelling Pokemon. The story of the Nidorino and Nidorina falling into deeper territory, it seemed the rest of their herd had picked up on their disappearance. The Nidorino had always been aloof, the Nidorina usually following his stead from the shadows but they had still been part of a group, regardless. So knowing that two members of their family had vanished into thin air sparked rage in some of the others.
Emerging from the bushes with steam practically raising from her with how enraged she looked, a particularly fierce looking Nidorina was looking for the next scrap. The curled up bug wasn't the object of desire on her menu, no. Her eyes shot right to the body of Mephisto. He had already endured a deep stab wound but now, he was going to suffer some more. Not possessing too much speed, the Nidorina still bolted forward, ignoring the sight of Scar and aiming for Mephisto, who had since teleported into sight. Leaping from the ground with jaws wide, his weedy body was once again the victim of intrusions, as her fangs sunk deeply into his thin arms. The wound stung and it almost felt as if darkness was seeping into his body but it was nothing he couldn't handle. Using his spare arm, the Kadabra lifted his hand and concentrated, a blue light edging around the body of the Nidorina.
Removing her completely away from him, he used his powers to completely crush her mind, causing her to become incapable of even thinking for herself anymore. Her eyes rolling back in their sockets, Mephisto flicked his hand down, releasing his powers and causing the Nidorina to slam right into the ground. With that, it could either do one of two things. Scare the other observing Nidorina and Nidorino off or spur them on to attack even harder.

Considering how much danger he had put himself in at this point, Mephisto had become something of a fearless ringleader. Time after time, he had made sure this ragtag alliance of villains had pulled through by pulling together their differences and simply just making it work. Hexxus may have masterminded the scheme but if it were not for the God complex psychic being in on the job, things would have fallen apart much sooner. A definite sign of development for the Kadabra. Sadly, he would be put in harm's way once more. With yet another angry Nidorina fast approaching, Mephisto did his best to assume a defensive position in order to counterstrike. Feeling a seething wave of pain coming over him as her jaw bit into him, Mephisto summoned all of his anger to fend off the agony. "FOOLISH MORTAL! Do you think you could just bite into my being! I am a God! SO HIGH ABOVE YOU THAT I LAUGH AT SUCH AN AGGRESSION! BEHOLD! THE MIGHT OF MEPHISTO! I WILL CRUSH YOUR MIND!" Surging off the psychic barrage, he let out a cocky smirk as the Nidorina was left unable to battle. Turning to Hexxus and Scar, Mephisto spoke hurriedly. "Hmph, we have no time. I am no longer able to teleport. My injuries are far too great. These pathetic underlings have overwhelmed even a mighty being such as I... If I recall you, we can make our escape out of here. Those other eyes I saw..." Shuddering, he quickly returned his associates, hobbling along to escape out of the area. The sun itself was beginning to set and all he cared about was following the setting sun to distance as far as possible from his current location.
Given that their position knee deep in Nido territory had become a known fact at this point, it would turn out just to be perfect timing for another personality to come bursting out on the scene. Having remained quiet until now, the bumbling villain decided now of all times would be perfect for him to confound matters further. With the ball containing him bursting open, Mephisto staggered as he noticed a presence emerging from his pocket and swept around to see what was going on now. "Now what is it?!" Noticing who it was, he palmed his head and muttered something under his breath. "Dummkopf, now is not the time for any silly antics. We are on the move." Paddling forwards with a swagger in his steps, the delusional mentalist got dangerously close to the Kadabra. Despite his body language, it had no real impact as he was far too small to be anything threatening. Ridley or Zidane would have pulled it off quite well but nevertheless, the crocodile gang boss opened up his trap. "Listen 'ere ya lil' peon! KING K.Rool don't take orders from nobody but me. So how about you shut it. I've been stuffed in there long enough. The plan sounded masterful but what have ye achieved, eh? Come on! Spill the details!"
At this point however, the only spilling that would be done would be of the Sandile's blood for being so reckless. Having decimated a few Nidokin at this stage, the remnants of the group were now in hot pursuit and it didn't require Mephisto to hone in with his psychic ability to realise one was hurtling towards them. "I am getting far too soft these days. harrumph." His back turned, K.Rool was right in the firing line however, with a sudden lift of levitation, Mephisto swapped himself into the front line once more, all the while charging up a respectable Psychic to take on this new foe. Their retreat out of the territory was succeeding but it would be for naught if they had any more interruptions like this. "AVAST! PUT ME DOWN YA SCURVY DOG! HMM?" Wriggling about, suspended in the air, K.Rool looked about to see he had actually been saved. "Arrr... Perhaps i've misjudged you loyal subject. Give 'em hell in the name of K.Rool!" Fidgeting about as if mimicking fighting, he still didn't shed his comical outlook that people perceived of him.
OOC: Requesting a Nidorino. K.Rool is in first, Mephisto swaps in first turn then psychic away.
