Onix was incredibly proud of how long it had lasted so long despite the number of times it had been attacked which was a true testament to it's rock hard defense. As the next round was about to begin however Onix had a sudden feeling of dread as Alex switched to another Pokemon as it was sure he would use a grass type move that would result in a knock out. Having a keen sense of judgement Onix reacted quickly to try and prevent the battle coming to a close. Like before it unleashed a Rock Tomb attack by slamming it's tail onto the ground causing small rocks to fall from the ceiling. This time the rocks landed all around Chryaisy lowering her speed. Speed was not something Onix was known for but thanks to Chryaisy being slowed down by the attack the rocky snake was able to quickly build up enough strength to start up another attack. Using another Rock Tomb it caused another series of rocks to surround Chryaisy making her even slower than before. As smart of a move choice it was Chryaisy still refused to go down and Onix really thought it was the end. It had no idea the attack that Chryaisy was preparing was not a damaging on but in fact one designed to lure it into a deep sleep. It was only as Onix saw a light blue colored cloud head it's way that it tried to avoid the attack. Onix was too tired from all the damage it had taken however and before it could get out of the way it took a deep breath of the powder. Onix began to grow drowsy and it closed it's eyes. As much as it fought to stay awake the powder was too strong and the snake fell to the ground as it began to snore. As Onix lay on the ground fast asleep the sounds of it's snores echoed throughout the cave. Now with Onix asleep and unable to make any moves it was defenseless if he chose to attack or throw a Pokeball. Wild Pokemon Battle

Alex had probably been waiting for this very moment ever since this battle started, or rather, ever since he stepped foot into the Union Cave to meet an Onix, which he had fainted one before. He watched anxiously as his Petilil was switched into battle to carry out the mostly accurate move called Sleep Powder. His heart pounded as he was scarred for life that these falling rocks would crush his bone and his soul, even though so far, none of these Rock Tomb had hit him. To make the matter worse, the Onix seemed to be able to only know this rock type move, the one with the chanting, and the other one with the roaring. Alex wasn't sure which move he was scared more of.
Thankfully enough, Chryaisy had the type advantage to reduce damage from the move, and even being hit twice, she was still standing! With the Onix's health got down to close to fainting, Alex paid full attention as his Pokemon unleashed the light blue Sleep Powder. Soon, Alex watched the rock snake's eyes gradually shut close and its body slammed to the ground. He exhaled a sigh of relief as everything seemed to calm and quiet down besides the Onix's loud snoring noise.
"Good job, Chryaisy! Stand back for now!" Alex shouted loudly to the grass type, as his voice carried over the slumbering Onix and still don't wake it up. He quickly pulled an empty Pokeball from his bag, and then prepared to toss. Throwing with as much power as his arm can, the young trainer tossed the sphere toward the sleeping Onix, and watched the opponent disappear into the Pokeball's flash of light.
Then, he waited to see if his capture would succeed or fail, or if he would have to start using his more expensive capture devices.

Chucking the Pokeball forward, it soared through the air with a specific curving motion towards the slumbering Onix. Making impact with a clang against the Onix's stony hide, it seemed the capture was to go ahead in the hopes of working this time around. Absorbing it in a red light, the Pokemon was covered from head to tail as it was digitised and scooped into the centre of the spherical capture device. Falling to the floor with a prang, the capture was now under way. Rocking back and forth, it was processing the newly acquired Pokemon. With any luck, this Onix would be a bit more incline to part with Alex and his team. Once... Twice...
*BURST*Oh no! The Wild Onix broke free! Sadly, this time would not be any different, it appeared the tunnel snake was able to break free from its bonds even with such worn down resistance and even in the midst of it sleeping soundly. Thankfully having only just ordered a Sleep Powder offensive, it meant the Pokemon was still enraptured in its rest and wasn't going to be trying to retaliate for the unsuccessful capture attempt. If this Onix was something Alex was after it was perhaps time to bring out the heavy duty capture goods. Wild Pokemon Battle

Not that it was a surprise, but Alex was hoping a single Pokeball would do the trick to save him the cost of cashing out on Pokeballs. However, after seeing how the previous Pokeball had failed to capture the Onix, even with the foe asleep, Alex stubbornly insisted to himself that another Pokeball would work. With that in mind, he drew his hands into his bag and withdrew another Pokeball for another attempt to capture this Pokemon. He threw the capture device with as much power in his arm as he could, and watched the regular, plain, and cheap Pokeball flew skyward toward the Onix. Then, the ball descended by force of gravity and attraction to the wild Pokemon. Soon, the light encapsulated the rock type into the sphere again, and Alex watched with nervousness as he was hoping the Onix would be captured, and then he would not have to worry about the Onix waking up again.
The bored grass type Pokemon began dawdling on the spot, swaying side to side or made walking motion on the same spot. Alex saw this, as Chryaisay was in his line of sight, but he generally ignored her boredom, as watching the Onix being captured was more important right now.

The Onyx was snoozing away snoring on occasions as it seemed to pay no mind that it was in a battle. it seemed to be having a dream that it rather enjoyed, it was tough to believe but it was something that the pokemon had managed to do. In fact wasn't there a professor that had managed to create a machine to look into pokemon's dreams? Anyways, that was a bit off topic, as the onyx snoozed away, Alex sent out another pokeball into the ONyx's direction to see if he could catch it. The pokeball closed around the Onyx as it disappeared in side. Despite the fact that it was asleep, that didn't change the effect on how the pokeball was going. It wiggled once...twice...and Pop! The pokemon released itself again. Though the onyx still seemed to be lazy this time again as it was sleeping on the battle field. Despite the onyx being stubborn on trying to be caught it seemed that Chryaisy was loosing interest in the battle. it had every right at this point, the onyx hadn't made a single move in a couple of rounds. But it was going to possibly pay off once in the near future to see if this onyx would get caught. Wild Pokemon Battle

Alex watched the ball rocked casually, as his adrenaline was just hoping to possibly-sleeping Jirachi that he would have captured the Onix. Though whether or not he would waste a wish on a legendary Pokemon for such a thing was up to another discussion. Though if he had the choice, he would probably wish to be on his way to be a doctor, or ace some pre-doctor exam. Shaking his head to focus again from digressing inside his head, he felt the intensity of capturing Pokemon that he had started when he left New Bark Town to capture a Wurmple. Though this feeling of intensity also feel different because he felt a bit of frustration. After all, maybe Onix just seemed like the type of Pokemon to be challenging to capture. He did not have this problem of thinking he would go broke from capturing grass and bug type Pokemon, at least so far not yet.
Reaching into his bag to grab a sturdier capture device, he wasted no time and tossed out a Great Ball toward the rocky giant. With two plain and cheap Pokeballs broken, and the Onix still asleep, he had no time but to toss out some more Pokeballs on capturing this Pokemon, as he had no idea when the Onix will wake up, and how long he could linger in this battle with Chryaisy. Though if the grass type's health would become a concern, he had potions ready. He just hoped that this frustrating experience of capturing an Onix would come to an end.

VS. Onix | The Onix was still fast asleep. Maybe a greater ball would have a chance of working? The Petilil wasn't sure, but she really hoped that it wouldn't decide to wake up right now, because that would have been really, really bad. The Petilil gave a small chirp of surprise as she watched the ball sail over her head, the Greatball connecting with the head of the Onix.
And just like that it was sucked inside, dropping to the ground with a thud before rolling around for a while. All she needed was that gratifying click.
Easy....
Eaaasssyy.....
It was like that the ball quickly settled, making the satisfying click the Petilil and probably Alex had been waiting for. Onix had been captured!

Alex watched nervously as the Great Ball rocked to motion the success or failure of the Onix's capture. His hands were sweating, and along with the quietness of the cave, he was sure he heard his heart beating intensely. Then, when that Great Ball clicked, he sighed a breath of relief as he had been waiting for this moment. He had been waiting for the successful capture of this Onix, since the last one had failed him. He spontaneously jumped up and shouted a "YYEES!", as his voice echoed throughout the cave. He walked up toward the capture device, which was standing where the Onix was sleeping earlier. He pocketed the sphere with joy and relief, knowing that he had finally capture himself an Onix.
"Good Job, Chryaisy! You did well! Now you can take a rest!" The excited trainer returned his winning Pokemon, and felt a surge of energy that only he understood. He brisked walk the remaining path of Union Cave, and finally see light again shining on the exit of Union Cave.
Looking over at the Azalea Town nearby, he figured that the first thing he should do was to see what local produce this town has. He had stayed in Violet City for quite a bit, so he knew what food that city has. Now, after exiting the cave, his mind shifted from worrying about falling rocks that could kill him to thinking about what food could energize him. After all, he was probably a bit hungry from fighting the Pokemon and walking in a rocky area. He smiled and picked up his pace to exit this cave.
OOCL 272 words. also not learning Synthesis.
also if other mods can help check with me before I [F] this thread.
okay so Azurill should be level 15 from participation, and then happiness from +2 to +3 from participation. (the +3 right now is an error that I haven't fixed from page 13) So it would be +2 before Onix #2, and then +3 after the win just now.
Venipede should also get 1 level from exp share, now level 22. Which means it could learn Bug Bite in ORAS dex, right? If so Bug Bite can replace Pursuit. Then it can also evolve and learn Iron Defense which I'm ignoring. But my question is that it should be able to evolve even if it's from exp share, right?
And then Sandshrew also gain 1 level from participation, to level 16. and 1 happiness, to +2. Venipede +1 level from exp share now level 22, learn Bug Bite over Pursuit, and then evolve to Whirlipede
Azurill's happiness is fixed and back to +3, but level to 15 for participation.
self updating
