Even though Alex knew that his Spearow had the speed advantage, he wasn't really aware of the Poliwag's ability to simply put a foe to sleep. Seeing his Scarout was falling fast into the water, the strategic trainer quickly pulled out his Pokeball to return that sinking Scarout.
Then, pulling another Pokeball from his pocket, he withdrew another Pokemon and tossed it into the fray. "Spiden, you're up!" he shouted.
Out from the Pokeball, a green spider stood readily to battle.... this blue water Pokemon thing. However, instead of ordering a command to attack, Alex tossed an empty Pokeball toward the Poliwag, hoping to capture that.
Alas, he couldn't be a grass trainer completely, as he understood that even nature elements work together. And having just one more water Pokemon might do.

Poliwag did a summersault in the water, excited that its Hypnosis attack worked. It's head popped above the surface again as it laughed,"Polilililiii." The wild Pokemon's interest was piqued again when the trainer returned his bird and brought out a spider instead. The tadpole tread water in a contemplative manner, brow furrowed as it observed the new challenge. "Poli? Poliiiwag..." Spiden stared back at its foe, moving his pincers in anticipation, but instead of hearing an attack order, he suddenly saw a Pokeball fly over his head. Poliwag ducked under and with a soft 'plunk' the Pokeball fell into the water too. There was a bright flash from a few feet below then tiny bubbles rose to the surface as the capsule sunk.
Alex didn't know it, but the Pokeball spun and tossed for a moment before going still. Then it floated back up to the surface. The trainer would have to send a Pokemon out or wade into the water himself to reach it before it drifted away. Luckily the water wasn't deep.

Seeing that the Poliwag had been successfully captured, Alex ordered his Spinarak to use her String Shot at the Pokeball. The green bug did so even though this wasn't a battle. And then the trainer easily retrieved the captured Pokemon.
Deciding that one Poliwag wasn't enough and he could be training his grass type Pokemon here, he cast the lines of the Old Rod again to see what would take the bite.

Deep down below in the ocean water swam a mindless Magikarp who was unaware that when you see a fishing rod string your suppose to stay away from it. Because it didn't know this fact at all, when its eyes caught sight of the bait attached to the fishing rod it couldn't help but swim up towards it. At first it was mindlessly butting itd head against the rod, it at least had enough common sense to be weary of strange objects that came appearing out of nowhere into the water. When it at least deemed that it was safe for it to use, Magikarp brought its mouth down onto the bait of the fishing rod. Soon after it tried his best to swim away with it in its mouth...it failed greatly and only resulted in a tug against the rod. It tried again...the same thing happened, just another tug against the rod. Magikarp was confused and dazed, why wasn't it able to swim, away with the yummy food? The reason for this soon came clear to it. Magikarp was soon tugged out from the water and onto dry land, where it began to flop on the ground mindlessly in front of Alex. A level 10 Magikarp would like to battle???

Alex pulled the Old Rod as hard as he could and finally lifted what appeared to be a Magikarp, which was now flopping on the deck. He sighed and looked at the Spinarak while pulling out a Pokeball, saying, "Spiden, I'll let you finish the fight later, but first... Scarout, use Peck!"
"Spppearroow!" the Spearow laughed at how weak and easy this Magikarp looked like. Then, he flew straight down to peck the fish with his small but painful beak.

Just how pathetic, the Magikarp were everywhere it seemed they were just as in festive like the Rattatas that were on land and in every grassy patch that you could find. The Magikarp laid their helpless as it flopped about. The Magikarp couldn’t even move to avoid the attack as the Spearow swooped down and struck the Magikarp and it was tackled. The Spearow wounded the Magikarp heavily as it just couldn’t do much and flopped helplessly. “Karp karp.” It said as it lied helplessly on the ground from the attack. It didn’t even see the move coming. Now it was the Magikarp’s turn as it flopped about using a random splash. It didn’t do much as it wobbled on the beach. The Magikarp would have been more agile in the water than in the ground. It just rested there on the ground gasping for air. Somehow it just barely hung on. Battle
Wild Magikarp | Level 10| Health : 3/21: 14%Status : Normal Magikarp used Splash....it did nothing! Scarout | Level 15| Health : 41/41: 100%Status : Normal Scarout used Peck!

Looking at how the Magikarp flopped, he had no intention of catching this one, let alone to sell it. Instead, his intention was to train his Pokemon.
"Alright, Scarout stand back, and Spiden, use Constrict!" he ordered and pointed at the Magikarp, hoping his bug Pokemon would understand.
Indeed she did, the spider fixed her head toward the Magikarp and fired a few times, the bundles of bug strings were flying fast toward the fish! As soon as it lands, she would pull the string to... choke the Magikarp or strangle it... Whichever word would fit the description better! Interestingly, the string used for Constrict is just slightly less sticky than a String Shot or Spider Web.

OOC: Spinarak used Constrict, and my interpretation of what it should be. (which is sting shot but less sticky?) Sacred, you wrote Spiden but it's actually Spearow using Peck lol. Though this time, the Spinarak is the one finishing the battle. Heads up to next mod.

Scarout moved back, watching his teammate take over per Alex's instruction. The curious bird decided it'd be interesting to observe Spiden's fighting style.
Magikarp splashed frantically as Alex's Pokemon spun out webs, wrangling the wild karp and gripping it tight. She yanked the silken cord, squeezing hard, choking the fish till it went limp. "Spina Spinarak" The arachnid chanted in victory, moving her legs to express satisfaction. With a deft snap of the string, she tossed Magikarp back out into the water. The fish woke up as it hit the waves, its gaping face appearing startled as it swam away quickly. None the worse for its adventure, though adding to the spider's experience.
Spiden looked around, ready for another battle. Then she crawled over to Alex and peered up at him inquisitively. Spiders often showed a rather morbid sense of affection, but this one quietly accompanied her trainer. At least for now.
Spiden is the Winner! Spinarak gained 2 levels and grew to Level 16! +1 Happiness! Spiden wants to learn the move Night Shade, delete a move? Scarout gained 1 level for participating and is now Level 16! +2 Happiness! Saurobix gained 1 level with Exp Share and is now Level 17! in case you're curious, Spiden got a critical hit

Alex watched in horror as his Spinarak yanked and choked that Magikarp... So that is how Spinarak uses Constrict. Thankfully this move wasn't the most powerful move to take out an opponent. Alex rubbed gently on the spider's back, where it would show the Spinarak's mood.
Scarout on the other hand, was ignoring his trainer as usual and being his lonely self. He stood on the deck, and curiously and casually pecked on the water as if to see if he could catch anything on his own.
Alex moved away from his Spinarak and cast his Old Rod on the water again, seeing if he could catch something else, or even, to train his Pokemon.

OOC: LOL, I usually don't calculate critical hit if normal hit is enough to faint a Pokemon. Thanks? and Night Shade replace String Shot

The rod went into the water again and just sat there for a few minutes before a long came a Magikarp that was just as stupid as the one before it. It's eyes latched onto the sight of the bait attached the string, and impulse took over its body as it swam towards it. The Magikarp began to butt its head against the rod, causing it to shake slightly. Magikarp wasn't too sure if it wanted to bite down on the object in front of it just yet, vaguely in the back of its head it could remember the teachings from its mother. She had warned it never to bite down onto things that came from the world above the water, for it would spell danger for it. Yet...it couldn't see the danger in the thing before it, it looked so harmless and it was hunger. Surely just one bite from it wouldn't do it any harm, and with that idea in mind the Magikarp bit down on the lure. After doing so it began to struggle against it, trying to shake itself free from the hold that had now been placed upon it. Oh no! It had made such a big mistake it just had to get free, it just had to! The more it struggled against the lure the more of tug the rod began to give in Alex's hands, until finally he pulled the Magikarp out from the water. It began to mindlessly flop on the ground, waiting for the punishment it would reserve for being so silly. A Level 9 Magikarp wants to get back into the water!

Alex pulled his Old Rod as it had caught something else again. Pulling the rod from his hands, he lifted another Magikarp out of the water, also flopping on the deck. He sighed, these things seemed to be in every body of water possible. But then he wouldn't complain because these things are easy for Pokemon training.
Looking at his Spearow and tilting his head to the Magikarp's direction, Alex ordered his bird Pokemon to attack once more. "Scarout, Peck again please?"
The bird nodded and took the sky again, readying for another peck.

The Magikarp flopped on the deck as it now knew why it's mother had always told them not to bite on the hooks. As it flopped it tried to get back to the water. To no avail did this happen. Instead, it had been hit by a beak and flown onto the deck more. Scarout was not playing games with the weak little fish as it had dove from the sky and landed it's attack square on it's fishy body.
Shaking his head he tried to get the fishy smell from his nostrils. The magikarp tried to talk to the bird telling him to knock it off but all that happened was his gills flapping searching for the nonexistent water on the deck.

Seeing how powerful his Spearow was becoming and how weak this Magikarp was, Alex pondered for a second if it would benefit him to end the fight with his Spinarak at all. Looking at how the fish was flailing weakly, he thought there was no way to do that.
Tossing another Pokeball into the fray, he shouted, "Casilk, finish this Magikarp with Gust! And blow it back to the water please!"
Out from the Pokeball, a butterfly with purple and yellow color flapped his wings, shouting "Beaauuu~". Then, he winked at the female Spinarak before flying up high and prepare for a gust to blow the damn fish back to the water.

"KARPKARPKARP KARP KARPKARPKARPKARP KARPKARPKARP KARPKARP KARPKARPKARP KARPKARPKARPKARP KARPKARPKARPKARP KARP KARPKARPKARP KARPKARP-!" It started out quiet, then grew louder in panic as Beautifly appeared, even louder when the Bug Pokemon started to attack, and then it began to fade as it flew off back into the water, the sound disappearing altogether when it plopped beneath the surface.
Beautifly flapped his wings a few more times then landed. He couldn't help but think about how easy that had been, but he was happy to show off in front of Spinarak.
There were ripples then Magikarp poked its head up briefly, looking a little dizzy. "KARP." The fish shook its head and took off, appearing happy to be back in the water. It's fin leaving a trail in its wake.

After fishing one Poliwag and two Magikarp, Alex was beginning to feel tired and bored. He laid down his Old Rod on the deck, with the bait end not touching any water. He stood and stretched his body. This fishing thing was a little too athletic for him since he's not used to pulling up such heavy Pokemon! But they're only the first stage!
He returned all of his Pokemon but his Spearow, hoping that the brown bird would evolve to a big Fearow soon. He stretched again while standing. Meanwhile, the Speaorw just stood on one of the wooden stakes holding the fishing deck together, and just looked away, looked inland.
Alex continued his stretching activities...

OOC: -replacing Peck with Aerial Ace -swapping Cacnea with Combusken -and I would like to request Breeder Beth even though I have no idea why dafuq she'll be in a fishing jetty -of course, im fighting with spearow and combusken -and for RP only, Spearow is the only Pokemon outside of Pokeball now
