After Scarout's powerful Aerial Ace, Alex wondered what should be his next strategy to catch this Pokemon. But then, he saw the Qwilfish tied to make itself smaller and he cringed in horror. Now, this would make weakening this Pokemon a bit more trickier and more difficult.
"Return, Scarout!" he held out a Pokeball. At least he could do this now, since he knows that if his Fearow keeps fighting, he would faint this Qwilfish and that wouldn't be what he wanted to do.
With his eyes on the deflated Pokemon and his hand on his pocket, he carefully thought about his next plan of move. Is there a way to make this Pokemon weaker? He thought cautiously. Then, he slowly pieced his idea together and tossed out another Pokeball. Shouting and giving an order, he yelled "Go, Saurobix! Use Sleep Powder!"
Out from his Pokeball, his matured Ivysaur came out. He plant dinosaur looked at the Qwilfish, but not after squinting his eyes. So there is where the Pokemon was! The grass type focused and released a cloud of green powders in the water Pokemon's direction.

The Qwilfish squirmed and looked up in time to see the trainer recall his Fearow. Then...nothing. The Poison fish bobbed back up to the surface and glared at the boy venomously. What was it going to do now? It was badly wounded and alone. With a sigh it watched the stranger pull out another Pokemon, this time a Grass/Poison type. The angry and vengeful Qwilfish leaped out and rammed its quill filled body into the saur before landing back into the water. What happened next it didn't expect at all. A small cloud of spores poofed out of Saurobix's back and enveloped the wild Pokemon, causing its eyes to flicker before it drifted off into blissful sleep.

With the Qwilfish putted to sleep, Alex was finally readied to catch this wild water balloon fish. He double checked the water/poison Pokemon to make sure it was asleep. With its buoyant body bobbing gently on the water, the trainer withdrew a blue and gray colored Poke Ball. This capture device was designed to increase capture rate for aquatic and insect Pokemon.
Aiming his toss to the sleeping foe, Alex tossed the Net Ball and hoped for successful capture. It shouldn't be though, according to his estimation. Still, he felt an intensity from the atmosphere. His breath was heavy and slow.

The Qwilfish rolled over slightly in the water as Alex pulled out a Net Ball, completely unaware of the impending capture. It jerked awake at the contact of the Poke Ball, but was too drowsy to put up much of a fight. The Net ball shook Once… Twice… Three Times… DING! The Poke Ball dinged, signaling the capture of the Qwilfish. With the Qwilfish successfully captured, Saurobix used his vines to grab the Net Ball and returned the Pokemon to Alex. The trainer was happy, and completely rushed with adrenaline of excitement for this capture. Certainly this water/poison Pokemon wasn't the typical grass or bug type he would capture, but poisonous water Pokemon brings up an interesting topic for him. Though mainly the topic was how the isolated poison could react to give a medicine or something.
He stretched again after this long battle. Today had been a long day for him with fishing Pokemon and battling. He returned all of his Pokemon, and tossed out another Old Rod again. He had hoped to see another one of that Poliwag again.

Another Poliwag took interest in the fishing rod, but this one fell for the bait. It bit down and pulled before being launched out of the water by a swift tug and landing on the bank. The tadpole rolled to its feet and looked around it curiously, eyes stopping on the trainer. "Poli?" The wild Pokemon burst into tears on the spot. "Waahaaahag waag wagggg." It curled up and sobbed more, embarrassed to be so frightened at the prospect of battle. Eventually it tried to pick itself back up and get some courage, but all it managed was a sniffle and a pathetic look. It hoped the trainer didn't have anything too scary looking, but it was determined to face its fears. It wanted more than anything else not to be terrified anymore.
A wild Poliwag (level 11) wants to prove itself! Choose a Pokemon to battle?

Looking at another Poliwag that he had hooked up, Alex was readied to battle. "Go, Spiden! Start off with a Night Shade!" Alex shouted, ordering his multiple legged Pokemon to start off with an attack.
The lady spider glared at the Poliwag as her eyes glowed dark red. Spiden began channeling her dark and creepy powers from within, and then, she proceeded to fire the eye-beams toward the water Pokemon. Alex watched calmly, but still hoping to weaken it just enough to capture the wild Pokemon and not fainting it.

Apparently the Poliwag was tougher than even it realized. Speed was on its side as it fired off a Water Gun attack in an almost panicked way and knocked Spinarak back. Then when the arachnid attempted a Night Shade, no matter how hard she tried, her foe was still standing. The wild Poliwag's confidence was starting to build, despite how nervous it was around something so creepy and crawly and red-eyed. It kept a good distance between it and Spiden, and tried not to shudder. "Poli-oli!" Spinarak glared and shifted around, keeping her opponent on their toes.

What Alex thought initially a shy and baby Poliwag had demonstrated a surprising amount of confidence. He actually didn't expect most people or Pokemon to enjoy the sight of a bug Pokemon, let alone a crawly Spinarak.
He folded his arms, trying to relax himself. The anxiety of worrying about fainting this Poliwag was killing him, figuratively! Well, at least with Spiden, he would have more control on the damage, he supposed. He looked at the Poliwag with a concerned look on his face, forehead a little wrinkling, eyes narrowing, and still arms folding.
"Alright, Spiden, go for another Night Shade!" he yelled as he nudged his head to the Poliwag's direction. Spiden tiptoed on her legs and moved herself a little forward, humming "Spin-a-rak.". And then, her eyes glowed red just like before and readying another eye-beam.

The Wild Poliwag's turn came up again as it used another water gun, it inhaled heavily to take in as much water it could, and soon it let out a stream of water that knocked Spiden backwards on the battle field. It took Spiden a few moments to stand back up on its many feet but managed to do it successfully. After hearing Alex call out for another familiar move it was time for the Spinarak to attack. Even with the Poliwag's confidence it was going to need a lot more than that. Soon the Spinarak created the attack and sent it forward at the Poliwag terrifying it quiet a bit. The shadow was quite menacing and could easily scare baby pokemon, but Poliwag seemed to have one thing that others didn't and that was confidence. It would have sent most baby pokemon fleeing from the battle at the sight, as they probably would have thought of the Night Shade as some sort of monster or even a ghost. The Poliwag shuttered at the site of the shadow and soon it slammed into the water pokemon. More health was taken away from the Poliwag as it seemed to be on its last leg for battle. Whatever was going to happen next round, might determine the end of the battle.

For Alex who is usually afraid of ghosts, he handled his Spinarak's spree of Night Shade quite well. Though that was probably because he can touch the spider Pokemon. Seeing how the last two rounds had turned out, he came to conclude that his Spinarak was probably a little slower than the fast-swimming Poliwag.
Thinking how there might be a demand for Poliwags, Alex put his hand in his backpack and withdrew an empty Pokeball. The aspiring doctor tossed the Pokeball toward the water Pokemon, and hoping for it to be captured. He kept himself quiet, not wanting to disturb the baby water Pokemon...

The Poliwag was shivering from fright from the Night Shade attack. It was certainly scared and ready to flee at any moment. That was before Alex had pulled out a pokeball and the little Poliwag was materialized into the ball. It was so scared it didn't even fight being captured, it knew that it may have a better life rather than battling all the different pokemon that came through these waters.
The Pokeball wobbled once... twice... three time before it sat still. CONGRATULATIONS! Poliwag has been captured! With the Poliwag captured, Alex returned his Pokemon and also picked up the captured Poliwag's Pokeball. He stretched his arms, thinking it had been a long day of this fishing and battling. He felt hungry now, and decided to take a break. Walking back to Violet City, he enjoyed himself another savory meal of noodles. The slippery strands of carbohydrates moistened by flavored soup running through his mouth was satisfying. Not to mention, the warm meal was energizing him again. He felt much more refreshed, and readied for the second part of today's battling.
However, on his return to the Fishing Jetty, he had noticed a commotion of a rare electric Pokemon spawning in Route 32. His curiosity took the course of his action once more, and he lurked quietly on the grass to spot for one.
Indeed, there was an Electrike, sleeping, and camouflaging with its green furs on the grass. Alex walked closed, hoping to not disturb it from its slumber. He hoped he could get one good look of this non-grass type Pokemon.

Electrike's nose wiggled as Alex came closer. It's ears twitched then perked up, one eye popped open. Then it lazily growled at the curious human to go away and turned over grumpily. The Pokemon knew people were looking for it, and it hoped this kid didn't attract too much attention. Its keen ears heard a few more muffled steps in the tall grass as the trainer crept closer. The hound sent out a small jolt of electricity towards his feet to scare him off. It had been separated from its pack, and was too busy feeling sorry for itself to bother with anyone. It grimaced and pressed its face into the earth, the very picture of abjectness. So what if I overslept and the pack moved on without me. Who needs them anyway. This wasn't the first time the wild Electrike had gotten into trouble because of its love of sleep. The pack was quite sick of putting up with it.

Soon after he walked closer to inspect the rare Electrike, the canine Pokemon awoke! As the wild Pokemon moved slightly with electricity running from its legs, Alex took a few steps backward and then just sat himself down. Could he... try to pet this thing? Or was it dangerous? It looked like he could either bite his body off or send him into a Shock Coma.
Well, technically the Pokemon wasn't going anywhere, but Alex was still terrified of getting shocked, and getting a medical emergency right now was not on his list. He withdrew a Pokeball and clicked open a Pokemon, a Fearow.
"Hey, Scarout, Aerial Ace on the Electrike" he ordered his Pokemon. However, his big bird was just standing on the ground, with his red talons clutching the grass and dirt. Was his trainer seriously thinking of having him attack a more type-advantageous Pokemon? The bird cawed and just glared at the Electrike. Scarout was still getting used to his new form.
Also, being a large bird now, Scarout had already saw the view of Route 32. He just didn't feel like flying up to attack yet, if the electric Pokemon is not moving.
