The pokeball flew through the air, gracefully and almost in a serene slow motion. Despite the angst and irritation of all those around it. Even with it's blurred and distorted vision Magnemite saw it coming, but it was to fast for the magnet pokemon to evade! Elinia watched with hope as the pokeball struck Magnemite and sucked up the pokemon with a flash of red light and clattered to the ground rattling a little. The red and white sphere shone in the center where the button was with a red light.
The ball shook side to side as the Magnemite within began to struggle and try and fight it's way out. All eyes were on the ball there was tension in the air, only thickened by the hot suffocating sun's rays. The ball shook violently side to side, not rolling over but almost.
It luched side to side and it paused for amoment. Only to shake again and again.
It seemed like forever that the little ball shook side to side refusing to let out that soft little ding..when finally
There was an explosion of white light as the pokeball broke apart! Magnemite appeared in the air! An electrical charge appeared around Magnemite and it fired a thunder shock at Elinia, she was able to dodge in time as the strike zapped into the ground leaving a slightly charred area. On the ground, it's singular eye looked towards the moving blur, as the magnets that kept it propelled charged with energy. Magnemite wasn't quite out of the battle yet, even if it was quite nervous about the whole thing.
Elinia was quite nervous as well, she had a good feeling that if one of those shocks hit her in her current state there would be massive damage. Never the less she held her ground, waiting for Sarai's next command, she wasn't about to let this Magnemite get away with that terrible noise.

sarai smythe ”Keep... keep moving around, Elinia....” Sarai puffed, unsteadily taking the umbrella Maloren was holding up for her and raising it above her head. She passed the grip of the thing to her left hand, digging into her bag again with the right. Her hand gently shoved Genevieve aside, ignoring the mewed complaint from the kitten pokemon in order to procure another pokeball. She knew that this wasn’t the perfect time to be trying this, but she couldn’t afford to wait- one solid hit would likely leave Elinia unconscious or worse. Thumb depressing the button, she hurled the ball overhand with an almost lackluster gesture, hand flopping loosely after the throw. ”Come on....” She half-groaned impatiently. Her body was already untensing after the horrendous noise the magnemite had put out, but her head was outright killing her and she was starting to just want to get this over with. The metallic pokemon was, to be frank, being a bit of a pain in her ass, and she really didn’t need that on a day with weather like this. Sarai deliberately took long, slow breaths as she stared, waiting to see if this pokeball would work while the sentret she had been directing nervously shifted back and forth a few small leaps, ready to dodge like mad if this proved ineffective as well. Elinia was feeling mighty nervous, and she could see Maloren every so often, the meowth twitching now and again beside Sarai’s feet, repeatedly stopping himself from rushing to help.

Magnemite charged up another thundershock, the magnets at it's side cackled with raw power as it was floating there. A loud humm building up as it zeroed in on Elinia, only to be struck by the pokeball and sucked inside with a red light. IT fell to the ground with the same clatter it had made the last time, and the same soft red light as the ball shook violently side to side. Magnemite wasn't going to let it's self be caught! As the sphere shook and wavered with the struggling Magnemite inside.
Shaking side to side back and fourth back and fourth as it tried to contain the pokemon the pokeball quivered a little. Finally and to the relief of all, it let out a soft and lazy ding as the light faded and the Magnemite contained!

sarai smythe Sarai sighed deeply as the light finally pinged off of the pokeball, indicating the final capture of the magnemite. Arms extended to catch Elinia as the furret launched herself at the purplette, shaking a bit from the tension and relief that the battle was finally over. That had been extremely dangerous, but she’d trusted her trainer- and Sarai had managed to come through for the fluffy pokemon despite the horrible sound that the magnemite had been emanating. ”I’m sorry, hon’.” The short woman murmured, hugging Elinia to herself and burying one side of her face in the squirrel-like pokemon’s fur, heedless of the way this left the furret’s tail atop Bilani’s head. ”That was a pretty big risk, and I’m really glad you were willing to take it. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”Crouching down, Sarai set Elinia on the ground next to Maloren, smiling at the two. ”You two have been working pretty hard- thank you for that. Why don’t you take a break, okay? I’ll call you back to me after a while, but for now you should go spend some time relaxing.” As she spoke, Sarai dug into one of the two pockets on her coverall-skirt, pulling out a regular pokeball and a ‘super ball’. The two fuzzy pokemon looked at her curiously. ”Sin? Sin sin riit?”Are... are you sure you’ll be alright? The smaller of the two chittered, but looked to her partner as he put a paw on the end of her tail. ”Niyaou.... myah miyaa niao.......”She’ll be fine. We should go and relax... and play with the shiny, shiny.... The feline drifted off, his eyes glazing slightly as his mind wandered. Elinia drooped, puffing out a small breath of air and shaking her head at her companion’s antics. She turned her attention back to Sarai, placing one dainty paw on the woman’s knee. ”Sinsin.”If you’re sure.Sarai smiled down at the fuzzy brown pokemon. ”It’s alright, I’m not upset with either of you or anything. I just don’t want you getting too stressed out. You’ve both done a lot. It’ll be fine.” So saying, she triggered both balls, recalling the pair of pokemon in a dual flash of crimson light. She turned her attention to her duffel, preparing to dig in it- but Genevieve’s head was already there, both front paws and her fluffy tail wrapped carefully around the strange cylindrical object. ”Oh! Good, thank you., Genevieve.”Carefully untangling the device from the skitty’s white silken scarf, she attached Maloren’s ball to one end of it, twisted a knob, and pressed the button that caused the ball and its contents to vanish. The same was then done with Elinia’s pokeball.... followed by a long, level stare at the pokeball sitting a few feet away on the ground. ”I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a big pain....” the trainer muttered to herself, considering her device for a moment. She could, she figured, always just send the pokemon away right off the bat. It wouldn’t be hard. ”Dgoo! Dgoo!”Okay so! Now what? Cyclone chirruped, fluttering in to land on Sarai’s right shoulder, careful not to knock the umbrella aside as she flew into place. The trainer grinned ruefully, tucking the device into her bag and raising her hand to briefly stroke the pidgeon pokemon’s chest feathers. Yeah, she -could- do that, but... well, that wouldn’t be fair or nice of her. And not after she promised- especially not after she promised. Even if nobody else knew, she would, after all. That decided, she nodded sharply to herself, raising a questioning ”Pi?” from the tinymouse pokemon perched on her head, Zonde carefully clinging to her hair. Sarai chose not to answer, instead walking over to the ball and gently lifting it with her free right hand. ”....after all, what can I call such a headache but Megrim? Megrim, come out.” She tossed the ball a short way, then pulled a small green towel out of her duffel bag as the ball released its contents. The magnemite deserved a bit of a wipe off after all the dust and dirt that had been flying around. ----------------------------------- MagnemiteName: Megrim Gender: Genderless Level: 9 Attacks: Metal sound, Thundershock, Tackle Ability: Sturdy Nature/Personality: Saying that Megrim isn’t sure about this is something of an understatement. It had just been irritated that the trainer it saw had shade when it didn’t on such a hot day. The battle to capture Megrim was rather vicious, and the pokemon is still fairly confused that its new trainer isn’t holding a grudge over the pain its Metal Sound technique apparently caused her in the ears. The magnet pokemon is still half-waiting for the other shoe to drop, being a bit of a cynic. Megrim is also really wary of Bilani, having been dished out with a hefty helping of weakening and a couple of -really- disturbing leers during battle. Still, this caution and confusion are at least a bit productive, the pokemon tending to go to great lengths to prove to Sarai that she doesn’t need revenge on it. Eventually, it may get the hint, though. --------------------------------- Several minutes later, Sarai continued down the path of Cherrygrove, her umbrella now floating in the air overhead to provide shade not only to her, Cyclone, Zonde, Bilani and Genevieve, but also Megrim, the magnet pokemon using its magnetism and levitation to hold the umbrella up from underneath. As they trekked about, though, sounds of some kind of merriment reached their ears, though Sarai winced slightly, the indigo-haired trainer’s hearing not quite recovered from the earlier battle, ears still sensitive. ”...cheering?” The trainer half-questioned, turning to look in the direction of the noise. ”....is that a ferris wheel? What is that, a carnival?”Sarai looked at her friends, glancing from Cyclone to Genevieve, and then looked down to Bilani- and suddenly grew a bit of a sly smirk. ”....you know what, c’mon Bilani. Let’s find you something tasty to sink your teeth into.””Iiiiile?”Wait, you want me to bite something? The tan crocodile perked her head up a bit on hearing that, jaws opening slightly. Curiously, the umbrella seemed to shift slightly in response, bobbing a bit in the air. Sarai glanced up at the magnemite holding the umbrella up, but a quiet, digitized ”Mitey.” Was the only answer, Megrim trying not to draw too much attention to itself.
((So, that’s Elinia and Maloren to the ‘box’, and Megrim in the team. Temporarily suspending the thread to go to the Unova Festival- once I’m certain of what I’m going to be coming away from that with in all, I’ll want to pick this thread back up.))

sarai smythe ”I still want to know where you got that from.””Chu~ p’pi!”I told you, it was just lying on the ground! Came the small voice from Sarai’s left shoulder, the pichu there clinging to a small pinkish gemstone, its uncut surfaces reflecting light randomly. Three feet worth of tiny claws clung to the thankfully sturdy cloth of the young woman’s black shrug, Zonde’s remaining front paw holding the little stone to his chest. Cyclone, displaced from her preferred perch, was roosting atop Sarai’s head and taking a bit of a nap- energetic though she might be, the bird still needed a rest -sometime-, and now appeared to be that time. It was, however, something of a mystery that she managed to remain in place atop Sarai’s head with no hint of a nest nor any of her toes tangled or linked into anything. For all that the bright yellow mouse seemed out of place on Sarai’s black outfit and the brown pidgey moreso, the kitten draped over her left shoulder simply seemed not to belong, from the shiny white silk scarf that draped down past Sarai’s bust to the pink-and-tan coloration of the kitten herself, there simply was nothing goth about a skitty without some kind of makeup or dye on it. Her attention, though, was fixed on the tiny canine frolicking around Sarai’s feet and yapping occasionally in good cheer. Brenna was so -excited-! They were -outside-! And -walking-! The terrier-like pokemon simply couldn’t keep herself still, sniffing and licking at darn near everything, in between bouncing at the edge of Sarai’s black skirt and trying to lick at her feet. It didn’t even seem to matter to the lillipup that her trainer was wearing massive, heavy black boots covered in buckles and white leather straps- she was just so gosh-darn happy she couldn’t contain herself. ”That -was- a nice festival, though. But! Time waits for no pokemon but Serebii- and we’ve got things and people to meet. Or discover, depending.” She chuckled a little to herself as she walked on. ”Some may even be tasty, right Bilani?””Guooooo...”That would be a very delicious thing to find out.... The sandile agreed, her jaws hanging slightly open as she watched the road ahead. So far, they’d encountered a number of tasty things- especially at the Unova festival, where Sarai had apparently procured both tauros jerky -and- bouffalant jerky, to the reptile’s great glee. Megrim declined comment, bringing up the rear with Sarai’s umbrella ready and floating lazy circles around the levitating magnet pokemon- as well as a couple of tin cans and a few loose nails and screws from somewhere. The rate at which its magnetic field accumulated junk was pretty impressive- but Sarai had been putting it to decent use, occasionally stopping to gather the bits of flotsam and dump them in a recycling bin... when those showed up, anyways.
((Oh, and please pass my Eviolite to Zonde to hold so his defenses are actually worth noticing. <3 ))

The ground in the middle of the street in Cherrygrove began to ruffle, and sink inwards. A hole appeared in the street a moment later! as the ground fell inwards with a fair bit of noise. The hole was roughly the size of a basketball if not just a little bit bigger, also round like a basket ball, but what came out of the hole was certainly no basket ball.
A small pokemon peeked it's head out of the hole. The top of it's head was covered in a hard and tough looking skin, roughly the color of sand and dirt, with a round shape to it. The pokemon had deep colored eyes that sparkled in the sun light as it curiously sniffed the air, it seemed to be merely curious about this little town and the events that it's people were going about.
The small pokemon climbed out of the hole and stood up on two leg's and continued to sniff the air, it's lightly colored under belly poked out, and it's round armored back was covered with dirt and dust from the tunnels. The pokemon had two small forearms that had little sharp claws on them.
Generally this pokemon wasn't out to bother anyone, not at all just enjoying the day and exploring the small town of Cherrygrove and it's pleasant scents. However it did seem to have at least some battle experience just from a glance, it seemed to be at least near the top of the pokemon in the area from size of it. Although like most of the pokemon around here it was clearly young.
It hadn't noticed Sarai or her team, or if it did it paid them no heed the question of the day was.. would Sarai leave the Sandy colored pokemon alone? or try and engage it in conflict?

sarai smythe Sarai almost squealed- almost. A sandshrew! She’d been hoping- the little pangolin pokemon were somewhat shy usually, but not all that hard to run across- it was getting one to stick around, she understood, that was the problem. Especially when things were wet, like with all the rain the other day. The purple-haired woman made a shushing motion to the pokemon with her, not that they were being terribly loud at the moment. This was a very healthy-looking sandshrew from what Sarai could see, no obvious blemishes or scars- and apparently fairly brave. Taking heart in that, Sarai stuck out a foot and ever-so-gently pushed Brenna forwards. Hopping towards the pangolin slightly, the puppy turned, cocking her head upwards at Sarai. ”Go on, Brenna...” Sarai nodded, gesturing loosely towards the sandshrew with one stripey sleeve. ”Give it a try.”Panting, the lillipup gave a short yap of confirmation, then turned back to the pangolin and scampered over with an eager ”Harf! Harfharfharf! Harf!”Hey! Hey! Waitwaitwait! Not stopping to give the round pokemon time to react, she leaped up, bouncing off of the brick pattern on the back of its head and landing in front of it. Eagerly, the lillipup trotted around to face the sandshrew. ”Harfharf harf! Harf! Harf! HarfharfYIPharfharf!”Hey, hey, look, look! Hey! Battle! Mommy says I should challenge you to a practice fight! Wannafightwannafight?”...mew miao?”Are you sure about this? Genevieve questioned, looking from the puppy to the trainer and back again. Surely Sarai could tell that Brenna wasn’t a match for something as tough as that sandshrew? The trainer lifted her hand to gently scritch the kitten behind the ears. ”I bet you’re worried, huh, Genevieve? Well, it’s alright. I just want to give Brenna a chance to learn a bit about how this works- she’s young, but lillipup are fairly strong pokemon usually. At the worst, this will kerb her enthusiasm a little bit- I’m not going to let her try and win this fight all on her own. That wouldn’t be very Mommy of me, would it?” The trainer chuckled softly as she stroked the kitten’s head. ”P’chu pi piii?”Then... who’s going to go out to handle the fighting? Zonde wondered, straight black tail wiggling a little as he lay there across Sarai’s shoulder. Sarai just scritched Genevieve behind the ears, watching to see what the sandshrew would do.

Sandshrew stumbled forward a step when Brenna bounced off of it's back, the sudden surprise caught it off guard but quickly it was face to face with a strange pokemon. Definitely not from around here, it was loud hyper and friendly. Sandshrew blinked a little at it's enthusiasm and turned it's head to spot the trainer that the dog pokemon belonged to. The little Sandshrew turned back to the dog and curiously leaned forward sniffing the Lillipup lightly.
A battle? wouldn't the puppy rather play a game of chase or something? then again a trainer had sent the puppy over so a battle was the most likely outcome. This puppy was not the first time a trainer had sent a pokemon after Sandshrew but judging by the number of pokemon she had, this new girl would be much stronger then the other trainers. Ears twitching a little, the little pokemon looked at the dog.
It seemed like she would wet her self with excitement so a battle was probably unavoidable, with a surprise movement getting back down the hole was possible. However this little Sandshrew wasn't much for running away out right away even if it wasn't really looking for a fight today. Lowering it's head and scratching behind it's ears before dropping to all fours and looking at the hyper dog. This Sandshrew was a lot more relaxed and content, generally easy going on days like this.
Sandshrew waited for the strange foreign pokemon to get ready, it didn't want to strike first and attack the seemingly well meaning ...and most certainly exuberant little dog when it wasn't ready to fight back.

sarai smythe Brenna yapped several times excitedly as the sandshrew stayed, lowering itself to all fours. ”Harf! Harf! Harf! Harf!”Oh boy oh boy a battle a battle! The puppy cheered, bouncing back and forth excitedly, short tail wagging energetically in the air. She was ready she was ready she was soooooooo ready! Sarai laughed at the puppy’s antics, calmly walking around to the far side of the sandshrew to stand near the excited lillipup. ”Alright, alright, don’t shed your coat in excitement, honey.” She smiled down at the little puppy, then gave the sandshrew a small curtsey. ”Thank you for agreeing to battle with us.”Zonde blinked at his trainer, cocking his head to one side with a flop of his kite-shaped ears. She was certainly being formal about this, wasn’t she? It was the first he’d seen anything like this out of the indigo-haired woman, and it was very interesting to see. He wondered what it meant, and if Bilani and Maloren had seen Sarai like this before. It changed her whole nature to see her act like this- he had to wonder if she was acting, or maybe she was acting the rest of the time? Bilani remained quiet, still chewing on a mouthful of jerked meat. She would have commented if not for the mouthful- or at least taken a nip at Sarai’s sleeve. The trainer’s left hand continued smoothing and petting the fur on Genevieve’s face as she gestured towards the sandshrew. ”Let’s open this up with a leer, shall we, Brenna?”Hopping twice in place, Brenna let out a short yap, then started making ‘grr faces’ at the sandshrew, almost managing to display teeth past the moppy bush of fur on her face.

Sandshrew gave Sarai a polite nod in return for her gesture of thanks. It wasn't often for a trainer and wild pokemon to be on such polite terms when it came to battles, but this Sandshrew was a bit different anyway. Sniffing the air again, and ears twitching Sandshrew listened as the hyper active little dog got orders from her trainer.
Sandshrew moved quickly when Brenna got her orders and struck quickly. Rushing forward on all fours bouncing as it moved, Sandshrew closed the gap between them in a few movements taking Brenna by surprise. There was a blurr of movements and she was struck with a scratch attack that hit her quite hard causing the little dog to let out a loud yelp and tumble backwards rolling a little. Dirt and dust became kicked up from the Lillipup's tumble.
After striking Lillipup Sandshrew braced for a counter attack, by lowering it's self to the ground and digging it's claws into the ground. However Lillipup's counter was a leer and a piercing gaze shot through the haze of dirt in the air. Sandshrew was a little unnerved the leer, after the way it had struck Brenna she did have reason to be quite mad, as she lowered Sandshrews defense!
However she herself had taken quite the blow in the initial stage of combat. There was a definet panting from her side after the exchange, and she winced a little while walking to the side. There was a slight falter in her step though it would hardly impede the battle. Still Sandshrew didn't take it's eyes off of it's foe.

sarai smythe ”Good, good! Good holding your ground, Brenna.” Sarai encouraged the little lillipup. She could see that Brenna was a bit hurt already, likely she wouldn’t be able to handle but one more scratch from the pangolin in the midst of the road. Despite this, she remained calm- and continued to look pleased, as well she was. She’d been worried Brenna might have taken a harder hit from the sandshrew in this first exchange, and was glad to see that the puppy was sturdier than she’d feared. Zonde continued watching with his head tilted from Sarai’s right shoulder, and Cyclone rousted herself enough to cast a curious black eye on the battle. She couldn’t help but wonder if she would be called in on this, but it was more idle than anything else- She knew that she’d be ready if anything started happening. She wondered if perhaps this sandshrew was at the top of the heap, so to speak, as she had been back near New Bark Town. Genevieve purred steadily at the gentle, precise handling of her facial fur by the purplette, distracted from the question of Brenna’s safety by the wonder of long fingernails on spots just behind the ears like there and there. She really wasn’t sure how Sarai had learned to handle cats so well, but the trainer clearly knew exactly how to keep the tiny feline on her shoulder happy and calm. The skitty tried to knead with her front paws, but the material of Sarai’s sleeved shrug was too tough for her to really get a rolling motion going, especially when tiny claws kept catching in bits of the fancy design worked into the cloth. Megrim watched in silence, the magnemite apparently amusing itself with the bits of metallic flotsam it had collected, orbiting them this way and that first around itself, and now around the umbrella that it was also levitating. The one large eye of the metal pokemon was narrowed to halfway in focus as it moved the bits in more and more complex sets of loops. ”Time to try a tackle, Brenna! Give it everything you’ve got!” Sarai directed, pointing in the sandshrew’s general direction. ”Let’s see how well you can strike it!”

Brenna and Sandshrew rushed towards each other, both pokemon charging all out, Brenna's head lowered and aimed for Sandshrew while the little pokemon leaped into the air with it's claws out stretched. Sandshrew struck first with a blur of movement it's claws hit Brenna hard causing a loud yelp and launching her backwards with a critical hit! Brenna tumbled and rolled along the ground before coming to rest on her belly legs sprawled out and her head rolling around from a daze. The poor Lillipup fainted!
Sandshrew was shocked for a long moment that seemed like forever as it stared at the fainted Lillipup! After a moment it snapped back to reality.
Sandshrew let out a little cry and rushed over to the puppy, it hadn't meant to hit her so hard! She seemed there was no major damage just a knock out but regardless of that guild wracked the wild pokemon. Carefully sniffing the fainted puppy making sure that she was going to be okay there were even little tears in the pokemons eyes. Standing up on all fours Sandshrew looked at the ground in front of Sarai in an apologetic manner wiping it's eyes, it hadn't meant to hurt Brenna but it gotten carried away even if it was a battle!
The little shrew really hadn't meant it, and Brenna seemed like she could have taken the hit..still it didn't alleviate the guilt

sarai smythe Sarai blinked a few moments at what had just happened, the lillipup taking a rather hard hit from the sandshrew’s fortunately fairly blunt claws and getting knocked about. Carefully, she walked over to Brenna, crouching down over the puppy and scooping her up in gentle hands, staying silent the whole while. That had -not- been what she intended for the lillipup’s first outing in battle, and to be honest, she was a little upset about it. Not at the sandshrew, though. The pangolin seemed genuinely remorseful about the abnormally hard hit it had dealt out, to judge the way it was downcast, head lowered in apparent sorrow. Cradling the dazed little puppy close to her bosom, Sarai let out a soft sigh. ”Well, that wasn’t what I’d been hoping for at all....” She said softly, gently stroking the puppy’s back. It didn’t look like Brenna was seriously injured, nothing seemed broken on a cursory inspection, so Sarai opted to hope for the better and simply keep careful watch over the puppy until she could recover. ”Genevieve.” She said quietly, the kitten pokemon carefully hopping down from her shoulder with a perfunctory ”Mew.”Got it. The stocky trainer backed up a few steps away from the sandshrew, allowing the kitten and the pangolin some space. ”As for you....” She spoke to the sandshrew, ”I’m not terribly mad at you..... but I think you might need some help gauging your strength to avoid accidents.... I’m not sure if that was carelessness or you got carried away.” Sarai tilted her head a bit, Cyclone cooing in mild irritation at the tilt of her perch but otherwise staying in place atop the trainer’s head. Bilani looked up as best she could at the puppy, her vision mostly filled with Sarai’s arm for the moment. The sandile swallowed her mouthful of now very thoroughly chewed jerky, but didn’t seek to fill her jaws again immediately, instead peering up for a few more seconds, then looking out into the battle. ”Iiiiiiile iiiii guoh....”Make something more delicious, Genevieve. The ground-type said, black eyes staring at the sandshrew and the kitten. ”I think I can help you learn what you need to avoid such things happening again.” Sarai continued. ”Please allow me to prove this in battle. Genevieve?””Miaaaaau.”I’ll take care of this. The skitty mewed, daintily raising herself up on all four feet in preparation. ”Tackle.”

Sandshrew nodded to Sarai and looked to the little Skitty a little lower on the defense but otherwise it was primed for a fight. This little Skitty seemed tougher then the dog, and if Sandshrew wanted to stand a chance against her it would have to go all out no matter what had just happened. Looking at the Skitty and sizing her up Sandshrew let out a huff and stood ready.
Genevieve moved first the little Skitty rushed Sandshrew with a tackle and hit the shrew head on in the gut. Taking the hit hard, it let out a grunt of pan as Genevieve pushed it back taking Sandshrew off of it's feet and pushing it several meters. It would have kept pushing however with a great amount of effort it was able to dig it's feet into the ground and stop the little kitten's charge. Slowing it down and down leaving drag marks in the ground until the pair came to a stop Sandshrew pushed on the skitty. Panting a little as Sandshrew looked down at Skitty having stopped the charge.
It swung with it's claws with a blurred motion scratching hard and fast her hard with a scratch attack along the head causing the kitten to react with a hiss and to dance backwards a bit getting out of Sandshrews range. Both of the pokemon were roughly evenly wounded by the exchange, had it not been for Brenna lowered Sandshrews defense it would certainly have an advantage over this Skitty. Instead Sandshrew was forced to drop to all fours and walk carefully along the side as did Genevieve the two pokemon circled one another waiting to make the next move. Sizing one another up the two pokemon observed each other carefully...
This Sandshrew was careful about it's movements as it watched Genevieve making sure not to give her an easy opening to attack with. Wild Battle!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

sarai smythe Sarai kept Brenna close in her arms as she watched Genevieve and the sandshrew slowly circle one another. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked on, judging the pangolin and the kitten carefully. That was a rather tough sandshrew, she surmised, and ceased to be surprised that it had accidentally knocked Brenna for a loop. With that kind of power and sturdiness backing it up, the sandshrew had to be quite strong, probably enough to take on most trainers that could be found in the area. Genevieve paced steadily, keeping her slit-eyed gaze even on the rodentlike pokemon opposite her. Only the briefest glance was given to the trailing end of her silk scarf, to ensure it would not drag in the dirt that made up the road here. This was, after all, a battle- and the kitten could ill afford to turn her attention fully from the pangolin for even an instant. Stopping her circle suddenly, she crouched and made as if to pounce the other direction in a feint- then resumed her steady circling. Waiting.... waiting.... ”Again!” Sarai declared abruptly, slightly startling Zonde. ”Tackle!”Megrim hovered slowly around her head as she directed the skitty, losing a few bits of metal rubbish to Bilani on a particularly low sweep, the sandile happily (and noisily) chewing on a screw and the poptab of a can. ”Hhhhht!” Genevieve challenged the sandshrew, lowering her shoulders and raising her hindquarters. ”Hrear!” With a small snarl, she launched herself forwards, ears folded back to protect them from the impending impact.
