Sandshrew and Genevieve watched one another carefully, neither of them making a move until the last possible second. As the two pokemon stalked one another carefully. Creeping towards one another slowly, both knew that one mistake here would cost them the battle! Sandshrew remained calm eyeing the kitten, though small it was certainly able to hold it's own.
Without warning Genevieve hissed folded her ears back and lurched forward and took off into a tackle attack! She charged forward, Sandshrew reacted by rolling to the left as Genevieve rushed passed it. The kitten continued running however! she turned hard making a U turn and running at Sandshrew tackling it from behind. Letting out a grunt of pain as it fell forward, Sandshrew curled up and rolled forward absorbing the momentum as a ball. Quickly getting away from it's foe, the shrew uncurled and spun around to face her.
There was no time wasted as Genevieve was rushed in a counter attack, Sandshrew leaped at her slashing it's claw with a scratch attack! Her reaction was to duck and run under the airborn ground pokemon, narrowly avoiding the attack, however Sandshrew landed rather gracefully and turned as she ran to escape striking her in the back with scratch attack! Both pokemon were panting and clearly at the half way mark of this battle, yet neither could gain a foothold over the other.. Wild Battle!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

sarai smythe Sarai nodded to herself as she observed the battle, judging the states of both pokemon involved. ”I’d like to think I’ve proven my point now,” She said, gesturing with her free hand to Genevieve who appeared in about the same condition as the sandshrew, despite being not only younger and theoretically weaker, but not as durable or powerful in physical combat to begin with. ”With the right understanding of how to handle things, I can form strategies that not only work with the pokemon I am guiding, but allow them to battle with less risk than some others. It’s not perfect,” She said, looking down at the lillipup in the crook of her arm. ”But I like to think it lets me do better than I would otherwise.”Genevieve kept all four paws braced on the dirt path, tail carefully lifting the end of her scarf away from the dry and dusty ground. This was hard- but not as hard as she’d thought. Either she was stronger than she thought (possible, but unlikely), the sandshrew wasn’t as tough as it ought to be (again, not likely, but possible), or Sarai had decided what to do with this in mind (very likely). She shifted downwards slightly, bracing herself. She’d not be able to handle two more such hits, and she wanted to prove that, being older and more experienced than Brenna, she could avoid taking such an especially hard hit as the puppy pokemon had. Zonde, perched on his trainer’s shoulder, looked up at the pidgey settled down atop her head, and then back to the puppy. Carefully clinging to Sarai’s shrug with his hind feet, he reached out a forepaw to pat and gently scratch at the head of the injured canine, trying to soothe her a bit. He really wasn’t sure it would help any, but anything was better than nothing. Sarai nodded very slightly to herself so as not to disturb the roosting Cyclone, and sunk her hand into her bag for a moment. ”Of course, one cannot discount the element of”-Her hand lashed out, sending a red-and-white sphere spinning towards the pangolin in a nearly straight line, aimed dead for the rodentlike pokemon. ”Surprise~!”

Sandshrew was struck with the pokeball without warning, it let out a light squeak and was sucked up into the sphere. The glowing red light of the pokeballs button went out with a soft ding before the thing even landed on the ground! Sandshrew had been captured! sarai smythe Sarai sighed with relief, stepping out towards the now quieted pokeball. She crouched down as Genevieve straightened herself up, the skitty’s crescent-moon face looking up at her with a sort of anticipation. ”Well done, Genevieve. Thank you very much. Please look after Brenna for a few moments.” Gently setting the puppy down beside the kitten, she gave Brenna a brief parting pat, the canine rousting herself enough to give the gentle hand a brief lick. Sarai’s sleeve belled out around her arm a bit as she picked up the ball, simultaneously withdrawing the odd cylinder from her bag. She placed a gentle kiss on the sphere, in the midst of its red side, and then stuck it to the end of the rod- and a press of a button sent the ball away for the time being. ”Sorry, Parzifal, but I’m not ready to work with you just yet.” She rose to a stand again, Megrim hovering behind her and looking on with curious eye. Her expression was at once relieved and serious, hands moving to her hips as she stood in thought. Zonde stayed close to her head, one little paw on the indigo-haired trainer’s ear. ”P’chu pi pi?”Is everything alright? He asked, watching her blue-gray eye with both of his black ones, not in a position to look her straight on. The only response he got was a gentle hand scritching at the top of his head, fingernails finding That Spot just at the base of the rodent’s ears. Sarai turned slowly, carefully not disturbing the pidgey roosting on her head- it would have occurred to an onlooker to briefly wonder how she could stand having a bird that size on top of her head and why her neck wasn’t strained, but only until they noticed just how much hair was rising in that high ponytail to hang behind her in a huge, shaggy mass. She returned to the two pokemon on the ground, Genevieve gently fending off Brenna’s curious nose with the puffballish ends of her tail. Sarai crouched, scooped the two up, and then turned to head back the other way across town. She was sure she’d heard of ekans showing up in this area, and that would complete everything she wanted to find to train from Cherrygrove itself..... ...though that would leave the region to the North still completely unexplored yet. That would be interesting.
((Genevieve will drop Foresight in favor of Attract, and Parzifal is to be sent straight to the ‘box’. I am staying in Cherrygrove itself and would like to request that an Ekans please appear, as this is the fifth page. I’d also like to know if the ‘five page’ thing also means that it happens again at pages 10 and 15 and so on?)) SandshrewName: Parzifal Gender: Male Level: 8 Attacks: Scratch, Defense Curl, Sandattack Ability: Sandveil Nature/Personality: Chivalrous. Parzifal, despite having been one of the stronger pokemon in Cherrygrove itself, is relatively peaceful, and detests bullies and those who get their way purely through force. He always acts with calmness and dignity, and endeavors to respect opponents just as well as his friends... while still not being adverse to beating the snot out of them. Curiously, he does not distinguish between males and females- that is to say, he is equally respectful to both genders of pokemon and people, and does not give greater deference or allowances to anyone based on their gender. He -is- slightly sensitive about the shortness of his arms, but tends to express his upsetness with a person or pokemon by refusing any attempt to converse or interact.... beyond the necessary calm, respectful treatment.

(double postin because I didn't realize you requested a Ekans)
Slithering between the streets of Cherrygrove was a snake, purple in color with a yellow under belly it made it's way through the town. Tongue flicking out and tasting the air to get a sense of where things were. Moving between buildings slowly not quite avoiding people but certainly not drawing any attention upon it's self. It was silently moving seeking it's target through the town and stalking it. It's prey had many companions of that Ekans could tell from the scent of the air and the different moisture's their bodies had left behind.
As it moved it could sense the tremors in the ground from the walking, there was a human a heavy one weighed down by many pokemon with the prize Ekan's sought on the very top. As the Ekans moved without leaving a trail on the ground it moved. Occasionally it let out a light ssssssss sound from the depths of it's throat however it was faint and hard to hear.
Eventually it came upon the human with pokemon piled upon her, Ekans eyed the prize at the top. Pidgey, curling slowly up into a coil while she walked on ahead and then suddenly springing outwards towards her! Ekans lunged at Sarai's head and the Pidgey that was there. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa It cried out as it flew towards Sarai's head. There was a loud cry and feathers flew into the air as the snake pokemon landed in front of Sarai onto it's belly, spitting out a mouthful of feathers as Cyclone hovered in the air having only barely avoided the Ekans spring attack! level 6 appeared

sarai smythe Sarai stumbled a bit as a pale purple shape flew over her, partly out of surprise and partly from Cyclone’s pushing off from the top of her head. The stout trainer caught herself quickly though, not allowing Genevieve, Zonde, or Brenna to fall- though Bilani got shaken up a bit by the time heavy-booted feet found the ground. ”Gwogoh gogoh!”Argh that’s bitter! What the burnt food?! Bilani croaked out in angry surprise, lifting her snout to give Zonde’s flailing forepaw a boost back up to the trainer’s shoulder. A low rumbling built up in her throat as black-on-black eyes spotted the snake, the little crocodilian baring her teeth a bit more than usual in her irritation. Moments later, though, she was glad to have her nictating membranes though, the layer of translucent skin snapping into place as sand and dirt practically exploded from the ground. Cyclone was more than startled and annoyed, she was outright angry. Such a surprise was nothing that -she- wanted to experience right now, she’d been roosting in relative comfort and wasn’t going to have any of this. The bird wheeled into the air in an upwards spiral making nearly a half a circle before the snake managed to even land and begin spitting out pinfeathers. Lucky to have lost no tail nor flight feathers to the surprise attack, Cyclone dove down, dark eye sharing a glance with her annoyed and startled trainer- and then she initiated her Sand Attack, diving near to the ground and throwing dust and grit up in all directions. Sarai whirled to face away from the sudden dust devil, taking a little sand in her hair as a fair exchange for none in her mouth nor the faces of the three young pokemon she carried. Oh, she’s good- Cyclone must have been paying a lot more attention than I thought... Sarai mused as she waited for the sand to die down so she could see what would happen next. She’d take stock of the situation before directing the pidgey further.
((That's a Sand Attack from Cyclone- both an automatic response and the first command Sarai would have given anyways.))

Cyclone began to flap her wings hard kicking up a storm of sand in all directions, but mainly blowing it towards the Ekans. A thick cloud rose up into the air as Cyclone's wings pounded the air kicking up the sand to Ekans, the snake hissed and closed it's eyes tightly clamping it's mouth shut and curling up to protect it's self from the sand attack. To little to late, as a burning blurring sensation affected Eanks eyes and sight, the snake pokemon hissed angrily as the dirt subsided.
Unable to open it's eyes all the way, the angry pokemon was blinking furiously and rapidly trying to clear it's eyes. HAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa It growled out, opening it's mouth wide allowing a volley of glowing white needles to shoot from it's mouth to Cyclone! Agitated at the one who disturbed her comfort Cyclone veered to the left and dodged the barrage of needles, Cyclone let out a mocking call to the blinded foe angering it further.
It's target proved to be much stronger then it had seemed at first. Still it wasn't going to just win, no flying bird type would get a victory without a real fight! There would be no backing down, as Ekans raised it's head above it's coiled body. Angered that it had missed the Pidgey but not about to surrender it's self to rage. As Cyclone moved left to right in the air strafing a bit to make sure she was no easy target, her movements were tracked despite the blurred vision from the sand attack.

sarai smythe ”Arf arf! Arararar rrrrawf!”Snake! Snake! There’s a snake here! Brenna yapped out excitedly, squirming in Sarai’s arms and struggling to get free. Sarai kept a careful hold on the puppy, taking a few steps to get out of range of Cyclone’s sandy gusts before turning back again. She’d worry at her hair later, right now she had more important things than sand to concern herself with. ”Pipi! P’chu pi piiii?”Again! Doesn’t this seem familiar? Zonde asked, looking from the mass of airborne dust and grit to the face of his trainer and then back. He tilted his head as he considered the mess that was being made of the battle area. Sarai certainly didn’t go easy on the terrain- at least not in his opinion. Sarai, meanwhile, simply grinned, making a show of stroking the head of the excited puppy in her arms. ”Myeeees... Just as I desire! Mufufufufufu!” She chortled evilly, doing her best to appear as dark as possible. Which, mind, she pulled off- just not in the way she probably intended. ”Nyaaaau....”Um... no. Genevieve mewed, leaning forwards to give Sarai a look of squint-eyed consternation. ”...doesn’t work?” Sarai inquired of the kitten, glancing from her to the pichu on her far shoulder and then down to Brenna. Getting a shake of the head from each of the three, she shrugged and decided to go for something else entirely. Releasing her left hand from Brenna, she spread out her stance, pointing dramatically. ”NOW!” She shouted at the top of her lungs, ”HIT IT IN ITS WEAK SPOT WITH A SAND ATTACK!””DGOOOOOOOOO!” Cyclone called out, swooping down again for another pass, prepared to brake hard by backwinging in just the right way to kick up another whirl and spray of sand and dirt in the Ekans’ face.

Cyclone wasted no time and beat her wings again with renewed vigor as she flapped hard and fast kicking up more and more sand at the Ekans. Hissing and spitting as the sand flew at it's face once again, into it's mouth and eyes lowering it's ability to detect it's foe and hit them as well. Cyclone was quite happy with the results as her small sand storm died off and her wings returned to their normal pace, Ekans was coughing up a little of the sand.Cyclone continued to flap her wings hovering in the air, ready to act again. However the angry Ekans was not about to let this Pidgey get the better of it, and reaching deep inside it's self Ekans fired off a volley of glowing white needles that took Cyclone by surprise and struck her hard digging in to her skin and then disapearing! a slow purple flush could be seen in her chest where the needles had struck as poison surged through her veins as she let out a cry of pain. Watching Cyclone just as she watched Ekans they stared at each other not giving one another a bit of ground. The snake wanted to size up the trainer that owned Cyclone but this was a game of chicken and the first one to look away between the bird and the snake would be the one ot pay for their mistake.. sarai smythe Sarai frowned as Cyclone hovered in place, clearly fighting the pain of the poison injected by the ekans’ poison sting attack. Still, the bird wasn’t making any concession beyond a slight droop and stronger, faster flap of wings. Impressed, Sarai blinked a few times and took the stare-off as an opportunity to turn a few moments' attention to Brenna. ”Harf! Harfharfharfharfharf arfarf yapyapYAPyap harfharf!” Bad! You poisoned Cyclone I’ll get you for that I’ll stop you I can stop you I have to stop you to help Cyclone and I’ll make you stop or ELSE! The puppy ranted furiously- not so much in anger as in desire to do whatever she could to help/protect the larger bird, who she saw as somewhere between friend and sibling. The purple-haired trainer was having a right time of it, getting her grip on little puppy legs over and over again until she finally gave in and inverted the poor pup, hanging Brenna by her feet briefly to get her attention. As the puppy pokemon immediately quieted, Sarai righted her and held her close. ”Cyclone!” She called out to the battling bird, ”Can you hold out a little longer?”As if to show indignance, the bird puffed herself up a bit, feathers ruffling out and seeming to inflate her to nearly double her original size even as she fluttered in place. ”Dgiii dgoo? PDGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” Can I keep going? WATCH THIS!!! Came the cry, part coo and part screech as the bird lowered herself almost within the ekans’ reach- and then began flapping all the more furiously, soon slapping the ground with both wings and throwing not just dust and sand but small rocks and chunks of dirt into the air, all in a massive spray in the snake’s general direction. She may be poisoned, but that would never stop her from doing her best- and she was bound and determined to show it! ”Guogoh gogohhhhh ile!” Now -that- is a tasty sand attack! Bilani grunted, impressed by the sheer volume of dirt that the bird was polluting the air with. If ever there was a bird to respect, this definitely was such a bird, the sandile decided. Just look at that sand fly!

The sand attack blasted again, once more Ekans was faced with an onslaught of sand and first, even a small number of tiny stones bombarded the snake. A stinging itching and even burning sensation, everywhere the sand attack blasted it. Filling her foe's eyes with sand as Cyclone flapped and pounded her wingswith all of her might, it was even a little tiring to a point slowly her pace began to slow as the sand attack ended Ekans hissed and spit as it's accuracy had been lowered!
Cyclone took a deep breath as she rested a little from the constant flurry of sand. Even if she was a large Pidgey this was alot of effort, nothing she was unable to handle of course. She would show this Ekans not to underestimate her kind.
Hissing angrily Ekans leered at Pidgey, letting waves of contempt flow from it's blurred eyes onto the flying bird. Cyclone was unnerved just a little as an icy cold shiver ran along her spine and it became more difficult for her to focus on defense! lowering her defense stat! I It's vision was terrible now, Ekans was blinking constantly trying to clear the sand from it's eyes but not really making any headway.
Unable to resist anymore as the poison in her body took effect and her flight faltered a little as the pain caused her body to seize up and she fell a little before catching her self in the air. Wild Battle!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

sarai smythe Sarai nodded sagely as the snake pokemon was engulfed in yet another wave of sand and grit, smiling at Cyclone. Opening her arms, she dropped Brenna to land on her feet, the little puppy immediately bouncing towards the battle. ”Cyclone! To me!” She called out, holding her left arm out so that the bird pokemon could have a place to land, her right hand digging into her shoulderbag and coming up with a small jar and an equally small full bag. Shaking it briefly, she shifted a little under Cyclone’s weight as the bird landed on her arm, sidling her way along to Sarai’s shoulder. She was puffing a bit now from the poison, looking sickly and glad of the chance to rest- not only was she a bit worn, but slowing down would slow the spread of the poison in her body. Brenna charged forewards into the fray, bouncing all about- but quietly. She was mostly the same shades of brown as the Pidgey, after all, and there was always a chance that the snake wouldn’t be able to tell the difference- provided it could even locate the pup accurately through all the sand in its eyes. She scuffed this way and that across the dirt with little paws, kicking up bits of it here and there around her just to confuse the issue further. She could not, however, stop her tail from wagging, the puppy pokemon excited to be getting into a battle again. She did keep in mind the previous fight, however, and would be wary of a counter-charge this time. Maybe if she came in from the side? Sarai opened the jar, Zoren leaning down on her other shoulder with a curious ”Pipiiiii?” The stuff in the jar smelled a bit sweet- a lot like a pecha berry, in fact. The rodent blinked a few times as the purplette scooped a daub out with the first two fingers of her right hand, squirming a little when Genevieve had to dig into her hair a bit with all four paws in order to make it to the top of her head, where Cyclone had been previously. Once there, the kitten curled up and looked down from on... well, not all that high. But high enough to satisfy her desire to be higher than the others anyway. Stowing the jar carefully with a little help from Bilani (who oddly did not try to devour the container despite its smell), she dipped her fingers into the pouch and deposited that as well, leaving her with a small mass of birdseed-laden paste on her hand. She carefully mixed the stuff together and scraped it off her fingers into the palm of her left hand, holding it up so that Cyclone could reach it. ”D’goo?” What’s this? The pidgey inquired curiously, cocking her head this way and that. ”It’s a remedy, Cyclone. Eat up- it’s nowhere near fast enough for battle, but it’ll help you feel better before too long.”As the pidgey carefully consumed her medicine from Sarai’s left hand, the trainer stabbed her right out towards the snake. ”Tackle!”Stifling her urge to yap excitedly in reply, Brenna kept herself to action, swiftly skirting around the snake in an attempt to come at it from the side. She’d make her mommy proud! [/center]

Ekans could feel the vibrations in the ground as the puppy jumped around excitedly, it's foe was no longer that obnoxious bird. However it was difficult to tell what exactly it's foe was between the blurred vision and the erratic movement it was making, Ekans was quite baffled as to what it's foe was, however it's determination to not back down and never lose was as high as could be. Mouth opening wide Ekans fired a volley of glowing white needles towards Brenna! They gracefully tore through the air as they moved to the dust clouds tearing through the clouds and striking the ground missing Brenna.
Ekans hissed angrily that it's attack missed, trying to locate the moving energetic puppy. It's head followed her while trying to follow the dog's movements as well as it was able despite the hindrance of the sand. It was very hard to see, all the shapes of the world blurred into one collage of or tan colors each object losing it's own individuality.
Brenna countered as she rushed to Ekans her little paws pounding the ground while the young hyper puppy moved in to tackle. She lunged forward her heard lowered as she impacted her foe. Knocking Ekans backwards as it cried out in pain dealing a heavy blow Ekans was knocked completely off balance and fell backwards and banging into the ground from the eager pups heavy tackle attack! sarai smythe ”Alright, Brenna! Good job!” Sarai cheered, pumping her right hand in the air, then glanced at her left to see that Cyclone had eaten the entirety of the birdseeded mash. Smiling, she licked her palm clean herself as Brenna skittered about a bit, the puppy moving back and forth through the dirt, blending well with her coloration and just generally making things difficult for the ekans. Zonde leaned his head into Sarai’s neck after a moment, apparently either wanting to cuddle up a bit or to take a nap, she wasn’t sure which. She did, however, gently lift the pichu down to her bust, right hand gently on the mouse’s back so she could take advantage of her corset (and curves) to keep the tinymouse pokemon close and relatively comfortable. Lowering her voice from the previous shout, Sarai visibly calmed herself, her stance relaxing as she placed her feet closer together, taking up slightly less space. Smirking with the right side of her mouth, one slightly feral-looking canine shown by the partial grin, she gestured again with her left hand. “One more, Brenna, give it a good firm Tackle.” ”Harpharpharp!” The puppy pokemon yapped, this time heading straight for the purple snake, set on slamming straight into it and thereby giving the snake a good, hard shot to the face. That would get the rest of the fight out of it, she hoped.
