Putting aside Voltorb's inability to even hold a musical instrument, Venom had to admit, he was impressed by the Ball Pokemon's level of determination to see its dream through, regardless of its circumstances. If anyone knew about making seemingly impossible dreams a reality, it was the ninja. So, he knew what he was talking about when he responded to Voltorb's angry outburst. "I respect your level of ambition, Voltorb, but those are just words! And I'm afraid your actions down here in this tunnel won't be enough! If you want to make your dreams a reality, then you have to get stronger! You have to do what we, Team Toxic, are doing! Because only strength can help you overcome all the odds, whether your dream is to become a Poison type master or a famous musician!"
Every word that came from Venom's mouth with filled to the brim with heart and passion, and the rock and roll music that continued to come from his phone made for the perfect background music for his speech. The Poison type trainer was also pleasantly surprised to learn that this Voltorb was also a fan of Roxie's music, just as he was. Clearly, this Electric type had good taste. While they waited for Skorupi to make her move, both Venom and Voltorb continued to jam out to the rhythms of the Poison type rock star, with Venom banging his head back and forth and Voltorb shaking his entire round body. Unfortunately, like the saying goes, all good things must eventually come to an end. The moment Skorupi resurfaced and struck Voltorb with a super effective shot was the end of the jam session, even as the music continued to play through it all.
"I hate to spoil the fun, master, but we have a battle to win! For what it's worth, I do hope this Voltorb learns something from the defeat it's about to endure!" The Scorpion Pokemon spoke loud enough to make her voice heard, even over the music. Even though she was enjoying the music herself, the taste of victory was still far sweeter. At least to her. Never one to deny the wishes of his beloved Poison type Pokemon, Venom gave Skorupi her next command of the battle, but still refused to stop the music, figuring that both was still possible. "You're right, Skorupi! At the end of the day, we came here to get strong enough to take on Whitney! And we're not leaving until we are! So, use Dig again!" That was all Skorupi needed to hear, tunneling her way underground once more, doing some headbanging of her own once she was underground and out of sight.

Voltorb got all charged up at Venom's words. "My words aren't just words! I practice every day! I will make rock and roll music! I will be the best. I don't need arms or anything! Tch. Why do you humans always underestimate use pokemon?" it loved that music. It wanted to make that music. Just because it was a lone voltorb in an underground tunnel didn't mean it would never achieve its dreams. In frustration, it rolled towards the skorupi again, slamming into the scorpion before it could retreat underground. "I won't lose here. I won't give up on my dreams. I'll be famous one day. I'll make the loudest, best music that everybody has ever heard! It'll be BOOM ROCK! Yeah. Music only us voltorbs can make. And you will all be jealous and praising how awesome I am." Of course, as it ranted and rambled, it didn't notice the skorupi emerge and slam into it from underneath. The poor little volorb was flung to the side, too dazed to continue arguing or battling.

Having secured another victory for Team Toxic, and gained more power for herself, Skorupi faced her defeated opponent and offered it one more piece of advice, even if it couldn't actually hear her in its dazed state. "Don't ever lump my master in with the rest of his kind. He's never once looked down on us. If you're really serious about making your dreams a reality, then you'll need a good, strong master just like him. Many Pokemon may not like this, but it's the truth. Humans and Pokemon can never truly reach their full potential unless they work together as equals. For what it's worth, I sincerely hope you too can find yourself a good master to call your own someday." Once she was done with her speech, the Scorpion Pokemon offered Voltorb a bow of gratitude, just as the song coming from Venom's phone finally ended.
"And hey, when you finally do make your dream a reality, you can be sure that we'll be at your first concert. Team Toxic will be looking forward to it, Voltorb. Best of luck." Venom smiled down at the Ball Pokemon, offering it a bow of his own, and putting his phone away for now, having gotten the need for tunes out of his system for the time being. After that, Skorupi turned back towards Venom, crawled over to him, and climbed up onto his left shoulder. "That was good, but I'm still not satisfied. And I'm betting Toxel isn't satisfied yet either. Let's find some more wild Pokemon to fight, master. Or better yet, some other trainers." Skorupi said with an eager grin spread across her face, knowing that a trainer's Pokemon would likely prove to be far more of a challenge, and therefore, more enjoyable to face in battle.
Keeping his smile and giving the Poison/Bug type a few gentle rubs under her chin, the ninja responded to his companion's plead for a greater challenge with some eagerness of his own. "You read my mind, Skorupi. The greater the challenge we face, the quicker we can finish up our work down here and finally get to our long-awaited gym battle against Whitney. So, let's hope the next foe we find actually has some bite to back up their bark." With that, Team Toxic was off once again, hiking through the underground tunnels in the pursuit of strong opponents to battle and train against. If all went as planned, Skorupi would reach the target level in just two more battles. As for everyone else, that would take significantly longer, admittedly. Fortunately, Team Toxic had all the time in the world.
OOC: I'll pass on having Skorupi learn Pin Missile. Thanks though.

Looking for more training opportunities, Team Toxic continued to traverse the dark and humid Goldenrod Tunnel looking for a trainer or a Pokemon. Not far from them was a Koffing who was floating up in the air, as high as the tunnel allowed. It was more fidgety than what a floating Koffing would look like, and it was gassing up on and off, releasing burst of smoke as response to its emotion. "Oh my gosh! I can't believe a date is happening! What am I going to say? Where are we going? What should we do? What should I bring? How should I smell that day? Kerosene? Propane? Nitric Oxide?" The Koffing grumbled to itself as it stared at a wall with some metal reflection, trying to concentrate and to prepare for its date coming up. "Would the west exit be a good spot? Or the east exit?" It muttered and mumbled and swayed to itself, examining its reflection in the mirror to prepare itself. The nervous Koffing might drive itself silly overthinking about this date!

In their continued pursuit of opponents and experience, Venom and Skorupi were a bit surprised when a rather large group of wild Pokemon and a few humans ran right passed them, all of them covering their mouths and coughing up a storm. Naturally, this caused both trainer and Pokemon to raise one eyebrow each, their curiosity rising steadily. "Well, that was odd. Wanna go see what it was all about, master?" The Scorpion Pokemon asked her trainer, still clinging to his shoulder and eager for another good battle. Not even needing to be convinced, Venom quickened his pace, heading straight into the area that all those humans and wild Pokemon just fled from. "If it can cause that many people and Pokemon to flee, then whoever or whatever is behind this must be quite formidable indeed. Definitely something worth looking into, Skorupi."
As the ninja answered his Pokemon friend, he was already mentally trying to figure out what the cause of this strange turn of events could be. However, as Venom and Skorupi rounded another corner, they discovered the answer, coming face-to-face with an expanse of tunnel filled with thick, toxic gases. Thankfully, given Venom's immunity to all forms of poison and the fact that Skorupi herself was a Poison type Pokemon, neither of them was bothered by these gases in the slightest. Honestly, it was basically the same as oxygen to them. The only real difference between their expanse of tunnel and the rest of Goldenrod City's underground is that their vision had become rather obstructed. Still, they both recognized these gases right away, since Team Toxic had a Poison Gas Pokemon of their own among their ranks.
Now that they knew it was a Koffing, Venom ventured further into the tunnel, searching for the source of the rampant air pollution. Thankfully, given how much the wild Koffing was talking to itself, it was a relatively simple task for the Poison type trainer to follow the sound of its voice. Still, the things that Venom heard the floating ball of gas saying were a bit odd. Of course, he knew that Pokemon fell in love and produced eggs, but dating? Whatever happened to instinct and such? Well, whatever the case, Venom wasn't here to judge other being's lifestyle choices, and instead began thinking of what to do next. On the one hand, Team Toxic needed all the training they could get. But on the other hand, he and his Pokemon couldn't just beat up a lovestruck Pokemon for no good reason. Especially a Poison type.
Surely there must've been some kind of middle ground, but what could it possibly be? After about a minute of pondering, Venom turned his gaze over to Skorupi, remembering that not too long ago, she laid her first egg. Noticing her trainer's stares, Skorupi quickly put it together, and started blushing, looking and sounding very uncomfortable. "H-Hey! What are you looking at me for?! You know I only laid that egg to satisfy a debt! And although that Scizor was strong and shiny, he was definitely not my type! So, can we please move on and never mention this again?!" After her little outburst, Skorupi turned away from Venom and folded her claws, with a face that was almost as red as the offspring she produced.
With his eyes considerably wider than they were a moment ago, the purple-haired trainer took some time to process all of this, before lowering his head and apologizing to his beloved Pokemon. "I'm sorry, Skorupi. I didn't mean to upset you. Still, if not you, then who do we know that would be good at dealing with matters of the heart?" Having never been in love himself, Venom was rather clueless on the matter, looking and sounding kind of lost. Luckily for him, Skorupi did have someone in mind, having gotten into some girl talk with this scaley friend of hers. Leaving Venom's shoulder and crawling into his bag, Skorupi found the Great Ball she was looking for and pressed the button on it, letting the Pokemon inside out right in front of the ninja. The noise and flash of light snapped Venom right back to reality, as the Pokemon that materialized before him turned out to be Team Toxic's one and only Fang Snake Pokemon, Seviper.
"May I please have some context here?" Seviper looked up at Venom and Skorupi and questioned them in a polite, but mildly snide tone of voice. Crawling back onto Venom's shoulder, Skorupi is quick to answer, looking down at her scaley companion. "We need battles and experience, but this Koffing has a date, apparently. Mind helping us find a solution, Seviper?" With that, Seviper turned towards the floating ball of nerves, gave it some thought, then began to smirk, seeming to have come up with a solution to this little dilemma. "Leave this one to me, darlings. I believe I have just the solution you're looking for. Watch and learn." With plenty of confidence in her voice, Seviper slithered over to the wild Koffing, cleared her throat, then addressed it, while Venom and Skorupi looked on from the sidelines.
Stopping just a few feet away from the nervous Koffing, Seviper looked up at it, saw that it was a male, and addressed him in a kind and sympathetic tone. "Nervous about your date, darling? I know it's none of my business, but you really shouldn't be. I can't speak for all females, but I myself admire a male with confidence. And if you find yourself lacking in that department, I often find that a good battle can be a good confidence builder. Not to mention a good way to calm one's nerves. And if I may be so bold, I'm willing to offer you my services as a battle partner. And please, don't worry about your date. I promise this battle will be quick, and my trainer back there has plenty of potions and other healing items that can fix you up in no time at all. So, what do you say, darling?" Seviper gestured to Venom as she spoke, then waited for Koffing's response. Once the battle was on, she immediately let loose with a Flamethrower attack, then another one immediately after, showing Koffing that nervousness was nowhere near as painful as a stream of flames from a large snake's mouth.

As the koffing 'paced', changing up its output of smog to try and make itself smell the most pleasant it could to its date, it was approached by a trainer and a gaggle of pokemon. It stared for a moment. Baffled. Then its gaze dropped to the seviper that offered some advice in that sultry hiss trademark of snakes. (Okay, maybe it wasn't sultry, but koffing had romance on the brain and this was a very lovely snake who was being very helpful. Koffing's senses were a bit addled.) "O-oh? Confidence, you say?" Koffing echoed. Hm. "And you think a battle might be good for my nerves?" The koffing pondered the offer for a bit. "W-well, who am I to turn down a lady's fine advice! Thank you. I'm sure this is just what I need to make this date go wonderfully!" Assuming it didn't sleep through it after getting knocked out cold. But it didn't think of that. Instead it prepared an attack...only to GET LITERAL FIRE BREATHED IN ITS FACE! "Woah! H-hey now, I didn't sign up for my whole body to be exfoliated with fire." The nervous Koffing smacked the Seviper to try and get her to chill. But nope. MORE FIRE! In the span of two moves, the poor, lonely Koffing was scorched and dropped to the ground, dazed. Then again, it was hard to be nervous while taking a nap.

As soon as Koffing hit the ground, and his smog slowly dissipated, its scent was quickly replaced by the smell of something burning. In this case, it was Koffing himself. With the air now clear, Venom and Skorupi were able to see Seviper's handy work, but they both seemed rather surprised and confused by the outcome. Wasn't Seviper supposed to help this wild Koffing? How exactly was this helpful? Seeing the reactions of her trainer and comrade, the Fang Snake Pokemon nervously scratched the back of her head and giggled a bit before speaking. "Oh dear. It seems I may have gotten a little carried away. That's my bad." Still, in spite of this rather awkward turn of events, Seviper was still pleased to have gain some more experience. Even if she herself still didn't have a love interest to call her own.
"Uhhh...It's fine, Seviper. You did succeed in calming that Koffing's nerves and getting stronger. So, I believe we can safely call this another victory for Team Toxic. Well done." Venom addressed his Pokemon after shaking off the confusion, praising her for her efforts before calling her back to her Great Ball. Still, this whole situation didn't really teach the ninja anything about romance that he didn't already know, which wasn't very much to begin with. While it was true that romance wasn't necessarily needed for Venom to make his dreams a reality, at least part of him did still hope that he'd be able to unlock the secrets of romance himself one day. Of course, to do that, Venom knew he'd have to find a girl. Hopefully, one that loved Pokemon as much as he did. But that could wait for the time being.
For now, there was still plenty more work to be done for the gang of Poison types. But before moving on, Venom approached the scorched Koffing, pulled some berries out of his bag to help with the burns and restore some of the Poison Gas Pokemon's lost HP, then turned and ventured down another tunnel. "Life can be confusion and kinda scary at times. Huh, master?" Skorupi asked her trainer in regard to everything they had just witnessed, still clinging to his shoulder as he strode through the underground tunnels. "It sure can, Skorupi. But don't worry. I've said it before, and I'll say it a thousand times more. Whatever life throws at us, Team Toxic will face it together." The purple-haired trainer said with a smile and a nod, and Skorupi was quick to return both, not even the slightest bit afraid of the future with her beloved trainer around. It may have been a different kind of love than the kind Koffing had felt, but it was still very powerful all the same.

<Koffing? I'm here. I'm ready for our date...Koffing? Where are you?> The gulpin floated down the tunnel, looking every which way for the charming koffing they'd agreed to go on a romantic wander with. They recalled Koffing being so easily flustered and nervous when asked, but Gulpin didn't want to believe they'd been stood up. Maybe koffing was just running late. Ran into a trainer or something. Oh no. What if they'd been CAPTURED! Worried now, the gulpin floated faster, looking around for that familiar form, hoping they weren't right. That their adorably sweet date wasn't in some trainer's pokeball, doomed to be trapped forever in one of those THINGS, forced to battle every day against its will. They were just too gentle hearted for that life. Fretful, Gulpin kept floating until they smelled kerosene and fire. W-what? Please no. As they drew closer to the smell, they spotted a trainer and SAW RED. <WHAT DID YOU DO TO KOFFING?! YOU CAPTURED THEM DIDN'T YOU? Venom and Skorupi were so baffled by all things romantic in nature that they had completely forgotten about the arrival of Koffing's date, and that she'd likely be very angry upon seeing the Pokemon she loved in his current state. True, Venom had left behind some berries for Koffing to eat once he came to, but he seriously doubted that would be enough to quell the rage of a lovestruck Pokemon. And he'd be right. With the big mouth Gulpin was famous for, it was impossible for the poisonous pair not to hear the female Gulpin's voice when she yelled at them in a fit of rage. They hadn't even left the site of the previous battle when they heard the new and very angry voice, as the ninja came to a complete stop and slowly turned around to face the source of said angry voice. Straight away, both Venom and Skorupi could see that Team Toxic had screwed up.
"What?! No! We didn't capture that Koffing, I swear! He's right over there! See?!" Venom frantically pointed out the unconscious Poison Gas Pokemon to the Stomach Pokemon, hoping that it would give her at least a little peace of mind. But if the purple-haired trainer was being honest, he knew that seeing the Pokemon she loved laying on the ground, badly injured, and covered in burns and ash would probably only stand to worsen her attitude. "Save your breath, master. It's clear that this Gulpin is definitely not in the mood to talk things out. I know we're the ones at fault here, but if she wants a fight, I'll be happy to oblige." Skorupi cut in, then quickly skittered off of Venom's shoulder and down onto the soon to be battlefield, narrowing her eyes at the other female Poison type immediately after.
After taking another look at the angry Gulpin, and letting out a very heavy sigh, the Poison type trainer realized that his Pokemon was right. So, with no other options, Venom prepared himself for battle as well. "You're right, Skorupi. Although it wasn't exactly what Seviper had in mind, a battle did technically help calm Koffing's nerves. So, hopefully it'll do the same for his girlfriend. Use Dig, Skorupi!" Venom still had very little to go on about romance, but he still hoped that this whole situation would still somehow end well for Team Toxic and the two wild lovers. And if Skorupi was being honest, she was actually kind of excited, as she tunneled her way underground. Her previous bout with a wild Gulpin was cut short when Toxel threw a Great Ball and captured the Stomach Pokemon, but this time around, it was just her, Gulpin, Venom, and the still unconscious Koffing.

The Gulpin's tiny eyes looked over to where the Koffing was, and was still shocked. Sure, her date Koffing wasn't captured by a human, but it was unconscious, which was second worse thing to happen! "WHAT DID YOU DO? Oh Poor Koffing! I will avenge you! We were supposed to have a great time and get to know each other more! I was going to ask Koffing what his favorite berry is!" The Gulpin cried both sadly and madly. It turned toward the human and Skorupi and was ready to brawl. However, the Skorupi dug underground quickly, which left the Gulpin even more frantic. "WHERE DID YOU GO? COME FIGHT ME and don't be a coward!" She yelled angrily, and began spitting sludge everywhere on the ground that it thought the bug type would show up. When it ran out of sludge to hurl from its mouth, the bug type appeared and caught the poison type off guard, making it wobbled around haplessly on the ground. "Ouch! That hurts!" The Gulpin took a few seconds to readjust itself back on the ground. "Did I took out the trash before I leave?" The Gulpin mumbled, as if forgetting something. Although Venom was a novice when it came to romance, he still felt very bad about ruining the planned date night of the two wild poisonous Pokemon. His feelings of guilt and regret only got worse when he heard Gulpin talk about their plans, but what could the ninja possibly say at this point? He doubted an apology alone would be enough to make this right, and although he did meet Celebi back in the Ilex Forest, he himself was unable to travel back in time and undo the mistakes of his past. On an unrelated note, if Venom could travel through time, he did have a rather long list of things he would do that hopefully wouldn't screw up the time frame or destroy the present or future in any way. And speaking of the present, Venom did the only thing he could think to do at this point in time. The Poison type trainer lowered his head, bowed before the Stomach Pokemon, and spoke to her in a very apologetic tone of voice.
"I know it may not change things between us, Gulpin, but I am truly sorry for ruining your romantic endeavors with this Koffing. For what it's worth, I do hope the two of you get another chance and find the happiness that you both deserve in this world." Venom hoped that his words would do something to improve Gulpin's mood at least, but before he could even hear Gulpin's response, Skorupi resurfaced and struck her with a super effective Dig attack. "Ya know, I may not know much about romance, but I do know that it's not very ladylike to spit!" The Scorpion Pokemon made use of one of the lessons she got from Seviper, throwing some trash talk Gulpin's way while she was trying to remember whether she took the trash out or not. Skorupi may have also spoiled her trainer's efforts to make peace, but if she was being honest, she didn't really care all that much.
"Master, I know how you feel about all of us Poison type Pokemon, but here's a lesson for you! All of the people and Pokemon we cross paths with over the course of our journey are nothing more than steppingstones on our way to our ultimate goal! I know that's a rather bleak way of looking at it, but at the end of the day, we have to defeat all of them to make ourselves strong enough to make our dream a reality! And if we are able to pull that off, all Poison types, including these two, will thank us one day!" Skorupi didn't really realize it herself, but the term of the day was "tough love". She, Venom, and everyone else on Team Toxic loved all Poison type Pokemon and wanted to give them a better world to live in, filled with the respect they truly deserved.
Sadly, in order to make that happen, they needed power. The kind of power that only came from defeating other Pokemon in battles. Knowing that very well, Venom raised his head, set aside his feelings of guilt and regret, and put his game face back on, determined to see this and all other future battles to the end. "Thank you, Skorupi. My friend. I suppose I too need a reminder every now and then. It pains me to do this to other Pokemon, especially Poison types, but I'm afraid it's a necessary evil on our part. Now, how about we finish this up and make you even stronger? Use Dig again!" With her trainer's fire stoked, Skorupi gave him a grin and a nod, burrowing her way underground for a second time. After all, if Team Toxic didn't do this for all poison kind, who would?

"As if! Like an apoligy could make things right now, my dear dear koffing, beaten up by some brutes!" The gulpin wailed and stretched a bit to look worried at their potential mate. Right until Skorupi criticized her behavior, then she glared at the other female. "Oh come on, I thought better of a fellow female than those stereotype expectations on how to act!" the green trash eating pokemon snarled, "I'm not going to try live up to some ridiculous beauty standarts set by someone else! I'm me and if you can't handle that, get lost!"She turned a loving look towards the koffing which had begun to stir, "that's why it's perfect, it loves me for who I am," she said dreamingly and sighed. When it looked back at its opponent, Skorupi had disappeared underground again. "Oh no! nononono!" The gulping exclaimed and spat more sludge out, doing her best to cover the whole area so that the scorpion pokemon would dig into it and get stopped. It didn't work, Skorupi simply bursted through, not caring at all at the poison which just slid off her scaled and she sent the gulpin flying, and landing right beside the koffing, so the two of them could have a good time together still, hopefully. Once again a poison type had unwillingly helped Venom and his team to grow stronger, which would help them in their quest. The question was if this was really necessary? If the poison type pokemon knew of their goal, surely they would line up eagerly to battle them and help them grow stronger, simply since it would in the end benefit themselves? "Get lost?! You're the one who appeared before us!" Skorupi yelled from underground, bursting back up to the surface a few seconds later and striking the final blow against the wild Gulpin. The Scorpion Pokemon then took a moment to eye the defeated couple, calming down and saying only one more thing before turning back towards her trainer. "For what it's worth, I am glad that you've found someone that makes you happy. I have someone like that too. He's brave, strong, reliable, and always puts others before himself." Skorupi suddenly found herself smiling as she spoke, referring to the one and only Venominon Ouroboros, of course. In her eyes, he was the greatest guy that any species had to offer.
After returning to his side, Skorupi climbed back up Venom's body and took her place back on his right shoulder, as the two of them smiled at each other for a moment. "You make me happy too, Skorupi. You all do. I'm the leader of Team Toxic, and there's nothing else in this world that I'd rather be." The ninja then gave the Poison/Bug type a few gentle rubs on top of her head, causing her to blush slightly. Venom then turned to face the unconscious Koffing and Gulpin again, withdrawing a few more berries from his bag and placing them down in front of the poisonous pair. "I wish you both all the best. And I thank you for your help in our cause." Both Venom and Skorupi offered the wild Poison types a bow of gratitude, then stood up straight again, as Venom turned and ventured down another tunnel, hoping to find some more wild Pokemon, or better yet, some other trainers to face in battle.

After Venom 'reunited' the gulpin and koffing by battling them both until they inevitably laid beside each other like a scene from Romeo and Juliet (poisonous not poisoned!), recovering their strength before they went on their date, their bond likely forged into something stronger and more intimate by those lost battles... Venom headed down the Tunnel. While he had seen mostly pokemon down here thus far, the tunnel wasn't without people. Certain stretches were even known for being jam packed with trainers looking for a fight. He would catch sight of a voltorb rolling along and go to confront it for a battle as he had been doing...but as he did so, he would enter that stretch of the tunnel where trainers gathered. A couple glances his way. Some looked cool and disinterested, maybe having won (or lost) a battle recently and were resting their teams. But one fellow in half a charizard costume, his dress-shirt untucked and wrinkle, leapt away from the wall, eager for a battle. (The voltorb rolled away out of sight). "YOU! YOU THERE! WE HAVE MET EYES WHICH MEANS WE MUST BATTLE!" He grinned, looking a little manic and like he was living off of no sleep and five cups of coffee before lunch. The man then pulled out a pokeball and sent out his slowpoke. "Now choose who shall face the superior psychic pokemon!"

Right from the start, Venom and all of his Pokemon knew that this training mission they were on was going to be a long one. But still, by this point, having seen most of the wildlife the Goldenrod Tunnel had to offer, they were beginning to grow rather bored. Be that as it may, they weren't about to just give up and go challenge Whitney before they felt like they were ready. Team Toxic just wished that something exciting would happen to spice things up. Even if only for a few brief moments. At first, it looked as though their wish had gone unanswered, as they encountered yet another wild Voltorb. Still, a battle was a battle.
So, when the Voltorb rolled around a corner and into another tunnel, Venom quickly followed it, with Skorupi still clinging to his right shoulder. But then, as soon as they rounded the corner, the ninja and the scorpion were met with a rather pleasant surprise. While Venom still didn't care for the presence of other human beings, especially so many, he was actually quite pleased with this development. The Voltorb may have gotten away, but Team Toxic had plenty of other potential opponents to choose from, keeping their eyes peeled as Venom ventured down the crowded tunnel. All the stares they got did make the poisonous pair feel a little uneasy, but they both did their best to simply ignore them. That is, until they glanced at a member of the crowd who stuck out, dressed in pieces of a Charizard costume, earning themselves a very loud reaction from the cosplaying trainer.
As he walked out and called them out, Venom and Skorupi took a closer look at the man in the costume, seeing that life in the big city had definitely gotten to him, to say the least. But when he said the words "superior Psychic Pokemon", both Venom and Skorupi instantly narrowed their eyes at him and his Dopey Pokemon, taking those words as an even bigger challenge than his request to battle. "So, that's how it is, huh? Looks like we've got a Psychic type specialist here, master. Leave this one to me. I'll show them what Team Toxic is all about." Skorupi said to Venom in a very serious tone of voice, never taking her eyes off Donald's Slowpoke for even a moment. Truly, this was shaping up to be another step in Team Toxic's mission to prove Poison type supremacy.
"Go for it then, Skorupi. Start off with Bug Bite." Unlike Donald, Venom was perfectly calm and composed, accepting the cosplayer's challenge and fulfilling Skorupi's request to battle his Pokemon at the same time. After a nod of confirmation, Skorupi skittered down off of Venom's shoulder, but didn't stop there, heading straight for Slowpoke with her fangs bared. "I'm not sure who's more delusional! You or your trainer! If you can even understand me, here I come, Psychic type! Ready or not!" When it came to battling Psychic, Ground, or Steel type Pokemon, Team Toxic definitely didn't mess around. If this attack landed, it would cause Donald's Slowpoke some major damage. Still, despite the type advantages on both sides of this bout, neither Pokemon felt any fear whatsoever. Skorupi because of her overwhelming determination, and Slowpoke because, well...it was a Slowpoke.
