"Yes! It's destiny! You will face me, Donald! And me and my pokemon's psychic powers will grow, and in the end I will learn how to unlock charizard's psychic abilities!" He rambled while flailing his arms around wildly. The closest trainers moved to a more safe distance, to not be entangled in this mess. "And I will grow wings!" Donald declared gesturing to his own back, and several of the other trainers present groaned. They clearly had heard that before, and didn't think much of it. "Toxic is good, it's good, good," Donald agreed a bit confused, "you need to break down before you can rebuild! Better! Greater!"As Skorupi appeared Donald raised his arms and bowed his head forward a bit so that the charizard shaped hat looked directly at the poison type. He swished his fake tail back and forth and hissed, but then paused and lifted his head thoughtfully. "No.. no that is not right. Not right at all."He took the stance again, waved the tail back and forth and growled threateningly. He raised his chin thoughtfully and then made a half shrug, "better."Skorupi was already over at the very slow slowpoke, who didn't seem to really realize she was there, or what her intention was. She bit it several times and got no reaction what so ever. She scurried back and probably thought if she should go for another attack when Donald raised his hand, "wait! Give him time! Pondering needs time and his enormous brain has lots of things to process before he has time for something as mundane as an attack!" Donald explained vividly. Finally the slowpoke opened its mouth, "sloooooooooow," it whined painfully. "It's just dumb and slow!" One of the other trainer gritted through his teeth, Donald ignored him. "Hmm, hm hm hm, not good, not good at all. No, no we cannot have that, disable it we must," he mumbled and Charmer.. didn't do anything really, but Skorupi realized she suddenly didn't know how to bite! "Isn't he great? Charmer is the greatest tricksters on this side of the forest, except perhaps his sister," Donald said proudly and then winked to Venom and made a movement with his elbow as if he was nudging the other trainer, although he wasn't at all close enough to touch him. "Keep a good eye on your pokemon as well, he's a charmeur and can woo any female!" He bragged, the slowpoke just laid where it had been and stared blankly ahead of it. As they listened to Donald's horribly delusional rants and shouts, both Venom and Skorupi were admittedly a bit surprised, having never come across a human quite like this one before. Thankfully, the shock and confusion only lasted for about ten seconds, with both of them regaining their composures quickly enough. Still, Venom couldn't help raising one eyebrow at the cosplaying trainer, starting to wonder if perhaps he wasn't simply cosplaying at all. "Uhhh...Master, I think this guy's lost it. Or maybe he never had it. I can't really tell." Skorupi commented on this rather disturbing display with an uneasy expression upon her face, wishing that she could do as the other trainers in the area had done and back away from him some more. This wish grew in intensity when Donald bowed to her and she looked into the eyes of the Charizard hat he wore, with her stinger aimed right at Donald's real head, ready to strike him right in his real eye if he got any closer to her.
"Back off, you weirdo! Get any closer and I'll show you why Poison types can be far more terrifying than you could ever hope to be!" The Scorpion Pokemon threatened him, although much like his Slowpoke, she doubted that Donald could understand a single word she was saying. "Calm down, Skorupi. If this fool lays so much as a finger on you, I'll deal with him personally. For now, just focus on his Pokemon." The ninja spoke to Skorupi with a much calmer demeanor than she had, but he still gripped a set of three shuriken in his right hand, ready to toss them Donald's way if he made any moves that said ninja didn't like. This was more than enough to calm Skorupi's nerves, as she breathed a quick sigh of relief, knowing that her beloved trainer had her back once again. From there, the battle was on, but between Donald's reactions, his Slowpoke's nickname, and the comments from the peanut gallery, this battle was quickly becoming far more ridiculous than Team Toxic would prefer.
"WHAT?! Like heck he can! He is SOOOOOOOOOO not my type! I wouldn't fall for him for all the Payapa Berries in the world!" And just like that, Skorupi lost her cool yet again, glaring daggers at Donald and his Dopey Pokemon, extremely uneasy and insulted by the very idea of being swept off her tiny legs by such a slow Pokemon. Especially when that Pokemon was a Psychic type of all things. Skorupi's reaction caused Venom to sigh and shake his head from side to side a few times, able to maintain his own composure with ease, thankfully. "Oh well. I suppose it can't be helped. We may as well make use of your fury then, Skorupi. If Bug Bite won't work, then use Feint Attack!" Bug Bite may have been disabled, but Team Toxic had far more ways of dealing with Psychic type Pokemon than just one, which was bad news for Donald and Charmer.
Not that either of them could fully comprehend the danger they were in at this moment. "With pleasure, master! These freaks are going down!" Channeling all of her fury into her next attack, Skorupi suddenly vanished from sight, disappearing into the piles of trash that littered the ground all over this tunnel. And while Venom waited for his Pokemon to strike, he thought about making small talk with Donald and maybe try and get him to see reason. However, the more he looked into the other trainer's eyes, the more the Poison type trainer felt as though his words would go in one ear and out the other. As such, Venom chose to save his breath, but still kept a good hold on the shuriken trio in his hand, fully ready to act if Donald turned out to be even more mentally unstable than he has appeared to be so far.

"I see. Yes, yes. Deception. Betrayal. Charmer, you must...we must...yes, I see clearly what must be done," the maniac muttered aloud, clenching his fists with a sense of finality. The other trainers were back to talking amongst themselves, only idly paying attention to Donald being Donald. Given their behavior, Venom might be able to ascertain that the babbling man in a charizard costume wasn't exactly dangerous as much as possibly delusional. They weren't acting like he was violent and would about to cause trouble, as much as they found him annoying and were curious if THIS would be the battle that would snap him out of whatever weird headspace he was in. Someone actually yawned. "If we are to unlock the psychic powers of charizard we must overcome this challenge!" One of the girls rubbed her face while another patted her shoulder with a snicker, "Your friend is a freak." "Oh shut up. He's...Donald..." "Freak shooooow." The girls started bickering. Of course, the skorupi didn't have any issues sneaking up and striking the slow moving 'poke. He even rolled over from the force of the impact, unblinking for a loooooong moment before letting out a "Slooooooooooow" in response. Suddenly, the skorupi was picked up by some unseen force...and SLAMMED hard into a wall. OUCH! Well, that hurt. As the battle went on, both Venom and Skorupi found themselves with more questions than answers regarding Donald's strange behavior. The cosplayer may have been...off, for lack of a better term, but was he actually a danger to himself or others? Based on the reactions of the trainers around them, Venom began to wonder if perhaps Donald was merely an oddball and nothing more. This theory was further supported by the bickering girls that the ninja noticed out of the corner of his eye, as it looked and sounded like one of them was Donald's friend. Surely, if Donald had someone who cared for him enough to defend his honor, then he couldn't be all bad. And if Venom was being honest, he did at least understand the costumed trainer's desire to discover new things about the Pokemon he held dear.
And so, the Poison type trainer put the shuriken in his hand away, but still kept his eyes narrowed at his opponent, just to be on the safe side. It was unclear if Donald really could understand his Pokemon the way Venom could understand his, or if he had some psychic powers himself, much like Sabrina, the Psychic type gym leader of Kanto. But given that he didn't really have a way to prove or disprove any of this at this time, Venom decided to give good old-fashioned communication a try. "As far as this world of ours is concerned, the only Psychic type moves Charizard can learn are Rest and Reflect. Of course, I have a Dark type Grimer with me right now. So, who can say? There might be a Psychic type Charizard somewhere off in another region. Although, if such a Pokemon exists, I doubt you'll find one around here."
Feeling a bit of sympathy for the cosplayer, Venom spoke to him in a calm and compassionate tone of voice, knowing all too well how it feels to be an outsider who always gets looked down upon and laughed at. And while that was going on, Skorupi took a hard hit from Charmer's Confusion attack, but got right back up and continued to glare at him. "Yeah, I felt that. But you'll have to do a lot better than that if you wanna keep me down!" Even after taking some pretty serious damage, the Scorpion Pokemon and her claws and stinger were still sharp and ready for another attack. With that, her trainer refocused himself on the battle, and gave her the order to do so. "Looks like Poison has the upper hand over Psychic this time. Finish Charmer off with another Feint Attack, Skorupi!" Without missing a beat, Skorupi vanished from Donald and Charmer's field of vision once again, disappearing amongst all the trash and other debris for a second time, planning to strike her foe with another super effective shot very soon.

res "You see. You understand!" Donald declared when Venom conceded that technically charizard COULD learn psychic moves. "One day, I will unlock that power. That knowledge. I will show the world its might by uncovering those deep, hidden secrets of the mind." "Hey Krissy, why is he so obsessed with charizard but has two slowpoke?" asked one of the guys. The friend of Donald's sighed, "He's...studying the evolutionary connection between slowpoke and charmander...in order to unlock the psychic potential of a pokemon with minimal psychic powers...He thinks that every pokemon that is related to a psychic pokemon has that potential somewhere deep. DEEEEEEEP inside of them." Every stared at Krissy, who stomped a foot, "What? We've known each other since middle school, okay? You learn a few things about a person..." She then crossed her arms and stuck up her chin. "And if you have a problem with that, I will make it a YOU problem. Got it?" Huff. Donald was gloriously oblivious to his friend vouching for him. "Charmeeeerrrr. Noooo." He returned his slowpoke, who, after being smacked again, took a solid minute to flop over. Defeated. "Dazzler, my dear, you're next! Help me show them your glory!" ooc// Bug Bite disabled 2/4

It was strange. Donald's rantings seemed insane or delusional at first, but as Venom continued to listen to him and raised an eyebrow, he began to wonder if maybe the cosplayer was onto something. Neuroscience wasn't Venom's strong suit or anything, but through his studies of Psychic type Pokemon, since they were the natural enemies of Poison types and all, he learned that vast areas of both the human and Pokemon brain remain unused. The ninja had no idea where to even begin with it himself, but if someone were actually able to tap into those unused sections of the brain, then perhaps it would be possible for beings other than Psychic type Pokemon to access those same abilities for themselves. It was then that Venom was reminded of an old saying. "Don't judge a book by its cover". Despite his rather strange attire and mannerisms, perhaps Donald was actually a genius ahead of his time. Unfortunately, it was impossible for the Poison type trainer to say at this time. Especially with all the murmurs from the peanut gallery and all the shouting from Donald's female friend that followed. While Skorupi was finishing off Charmer, Venom decided to take a moment to glance at this female friend and was actually a bit moved by her intense loyalty to her friend. Did she also see the potential in Donald's ambitions? Either way, that kind of friendship and devotion was a lot rarer than most people would think, and Krissy's words and actions would not go unrewarded. As soon as he was given the opportunity to do so, Venom spoke up, giving those he deemed worthy a warning. "Skorupi, Donald, Krissy, I advise you all to cover your ears in exactly one minute." With that, the purple-haired trainer grabbed a certain Pokeball from his bag, then waited for the moment to arrive. In the same of exactly one minute, Skorupi finished off Charmer, Donald called Charmer back to his own Pokeball, and Venom called out the Pokemon that was inside the Pokeball he just grabbed from his bag. As it turned out, it was once again time for the Poison type trainer to feed Toxel, his precious Baby Pokemon. And given what happened the last time he did this, Venom knew exactly what would happen once Toxel manifested in his arms. Skorupi remembered the last time too, flinching as soon as she saw Toxel, quickly covered her ears, then gave Donald and Krissy another warning of her own. "It's Toxel! You two best do as my master says now!" Venom and Skorupi hoped that the two humans would heed their warnings, even if they couldn't understand her, as Toxel voiced her need for sustenance in a very effective manner. "WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Letting out a very loud cry, Toxel used her Metal Sound, sending extremely powerful soundwaves out in all directions. Growing up around plenty of Zubats, Golbats, and Crobats, Venom was used to sounds like this one and was completely composed the entire time. Skorupi gritted her fangs and kept her ears covered though, waiting for the assault on her eardrums to end. All the other people and Pokemon around them weren't so lucky though, as the sound blasted through their heads and shattered a few lightbulbs and other glass objects in the area almost instantly. Venom hoped that Donald and Krissy had chosen to take his advice, and after a good minute of torment, he finally gave Toxel what she wanted, grabbing her bottle from his bag and holding it up to her mouth. The Baby Pokemon stopped crying instantly, contently sucking on her bottle and drinking the formula inside, causing her trainer to smile down at her. Skorupi uncovered her ears as soon as she saw this, breathing a sigh of relief. "Phew!...That kid's evolution cannot get here fast enough. Let's just hope it does before we all go deaf." As annoyed as the Scorpion Pokemon was, she still couldn't help smiling at her tiny teammate a bit herself, finding her to be more than a little adorable. Skorupi's comments caused Venom to chuckle a bit, as he turned his gaze over to her while continuing to feed Toxel. "She'll evolve when she's ready, Skorupi. In the meantime, we still have a battle to finish. You can take a break for now, but could you please call Grimer out for me? As you can see, my hands are kind of full at the moment." The ninja asked his Pokemon in a friendly tone of voice, not daring to stop feeding or let go of Toxel for even a second. Seeing that her trainer really needed her help right now, Skorupi crawled over to him, then up his body, and into his bag, finding Grimer's Great Ball and pressing the button on it. The red, white, and blue orb the burst open, sending the Alolan Sludge Pokemon out onto the battlefield, but she was far more focused on Toxel than her opponent. "AH! Oh my Arceus! It's little Toxel! She's so cute I can't stand it!" Grimer looked up at her infant companion with sparkles in her eyes and a big smile upon her face, but Toxel didn't even notice her or her kind words, far too focused on her bottle to really notice anything else. Then, once Donald sent out his second Slowpoke, Dazzler, Venom, Grimer, and Skorupi all turned to look at her, seeing right away that she was stronger than Charmer. "Another Slowpoke, huh? That works out perfectly for a Dark type like you, Grimer. Let's start off with Poison Fang, then right into Bite." Between Grimer's Poison Touch ability, and the likelihood Poison Fang had of poisoning the foe, that would be a good start to this new bout. And Bite was a no-brainer, super effective against Psychic types like Slowpoke. "Just leave it to me, master! Be sure to watch your big sister closely now, little one!" Grimer addressed both Venom and Toxel, then began to make her way over to Dazzler with her mouth wide open and her fangs bared. OOC: Running Shoes used. Also, thanks for the update, Pixel, but Donald's second Slowpoke is supposed to be level 25. Just wanted to give whoever mods this thread next a prompt. Thanks.

Upon being advised to cover their ears, Krissy did as she was told, then yelled at Donald to do the same. He hesitated, but listened to his friend. What was going— SCREEEEEEEEEEEE —on...? oh... A baby pokemon. The other trainers responded as well. Many covered their ears too at the cue, but a couple who weren't paying attention or were listening to earbuds were left with ringing ears and started swearing at the noise. "That noise...babies crying hurts my focus! Dazzler, use yawn! Return the peace and quiet so that I may properly unlock the true might behind your psychic abilities." While he meant to use yawn on the screaming baby (that was being pacified by a bottle), Dazzler of course had a grimer literally trying to bite a chunk out of her side in a multitude of ways. With a long Sloooooow of delayed pain response, she yawned right into the grimer's face. And got chomped again for her daring. She didn't respond to Donald's cries to Yawn the baby, just staring off blankly as the grimer puddled onto the floor, asleep. Seeing the reactions of all the people around him, both Venom and Skorupi couldn't help snickering at least a little, finding their distress rather amusing. Of course, Venom's main focus was on Toxel, knowing that as a baby Pokemon, she required constant attention. That being said, there was still a battle going on, and he was still the trainer of these poisonous Pokemon. However, it seemed as though Skorupi was one step ahead of her trainer this time. Seeing that Grimer had fallen asleep, the Scorpion Pokemon started digging through Venom's bag once again, searching for an item that she knew would help in this particular situation. All the while, Toxel continued to chug the contents of the bottle, until it was finally empty about thirty seconds later.
With that, Toxel removed the tip of the bottle from her mouth, and began to actively scan her surroundings, taking in all the new sights and sounds she saw. "Hey, Skorupi, could you please find me a-" The ninja started to ask Skorupi to grab another item for him, but she cut him off, crawling back out of his bag and holding the requested item in her claws. "Chesto Berry. I'm way ahead of you, master." She said with a helpful smile upon her face, as Venom glanced at her and gave her a smile of gratitude, along with a tone to match. "Thanks, Skorupi. Now, it looks like Grimer could use it. You know what to do." Venom had taught him Pokemon well, or at least most of them, as Toxel still had a long way to go before she could be in any Pokemon battles, especially in a place like this.
"Yup. I'm on it." Skorupi gave her trainer a nod, then skittered down off of his once again, carrying the Chesto Berry over to her slumbering teammate. "Rise and shine, Grimer! You've got a battle to win!" Upon reaching the sleeping pile of toxic sludge, Skorupi tossed the berry into her mouth, then quickly backed off. The blue and white berry slowly slithered down Grimer's throat, before being dissolved in her highly toxic body. Once that was done, the Sludge Pokemon's eyes shot wide open, as she quickly rose from her slumber and took a quick moment to collect herself. Literally. "Woah! What the heck?! How long was I out?! Is the battle over?!" Grimer had become rather frantic, having fallen into a deep sleep and been roused from that sleep all in the space of three minutes.
Thankfully, she wasn't alone at this rather puzzling moment, as the voice of her trainer snapped her out of it right away. "Only about three minutes! And nope! But it looks like Dazzler is on her last legs! So, let's try another Poison Fang, Grimer!" Venom gave Grimer her next set of orders, and all eyes were on her once again. Even Toxel's this time. That was all the motivation Grimer needed to not only finish this battle, but to put forth her best effort in doing so as well. More than anything, Grimer wanted to make a good impression on the Baby Pokemon. "Right! Just leave it to me, master! Wish me luck, Toxel! You little cutie pie!" The Poison/Dark type smiled lovingly at the Poison/Electric type, then turned towards Dazzler once more and proceeded to slither over to her again, her highly poisonous fangs ready to take another good bite out of the Dopey Pokemon.

"Now that your grimer is bedazzled by my Dazzler, she will stun you with her majesty. Her focus. Her POWER!" Donald cried out. The slowpoke stood there as Grimer dozed, watching with a vacant expression. It was easy to pop a chesto berry into the grimer's mouth and rouse it from its brief slumber. But before it could attack, the slowpoke opened her mouth and loosed a decently powerful water pulse. It sent the grimer staggering, but fortunately, did not leave behind nasty confusion. That meant the grimer was free to attack and end the battle with one more devastating poison fang. CHOMP! It took a solid minute, but Dazzler let out a pained 'slooooow' before tipping over. Defeated. Donald gripped his charizard hat in shock, "NO! MY SLOWPOKES!" Krissy sighed, "Donald..." "How will I ever recover—" "Donald, I'm going to get a burger from that place you like on Main." Donald perked up, "Oh? Immediately distracted from his plight." "Yeah, and like...Charmer and Dazzler just looooove their ice cream, right?" "They do..." "Then like, let's get some food into you all so you can focus on that charizard research of yours." "RIGHT!" And just like that, Donald ran off, some money falling out of his back pocket as he joined his friend. She shook her head and pat his back. Out of the tunnel they would go.

As soon as Dazzler fell to the ground, Grimer gained a proud smile upon her face, very pleased with her victory for a number of reasons. She leveled up, bested a Psychic type, and did so with Team Toxic's youngest and cutest member watching it all unfold. Truly, there wasn't anything that could spoil the Alolan Sludge Pokemon's good mood at that moment. However, all of Team Toxic were quite flabbergasted as they watched the exchange between Donald and Krissy that followed the battle. And before any of them could get a word in edgewise, the cosplayer and his female friend were gone. And just like that, Team Toxic was left more than a little dumbfounded, taking a full minute to process everything they had just seen and heard in such a short span of time.
"I know that I'm still learning all the phrases and sayings that humans like to use, but I believe the correct term used to describe those two would be "flakes". Is that right?" Skorupi was the first to speak up, trying her claw at a bit of slang, even if she didn't fully understand it herself. "Well, at least their bond is strong. That's always a nice thing to see." Grimer was the next one to speak up, doing so with another satisfied smile on her face, with a happy tone of voice to go along with it. Then, much to the shock of Venom, Skorupi, and Grimer, Toxel spoke up too, finally saying her very first words. "...M-Master...Toxel wants to play...Toxel wants to play too."
All eyes were on the Baby Pokemon after that, with collective gasps escaping from the throats of Venom, Skorupi, and Grimer at the exact same time. Once the reality of this momentous occasion sunk in, all three of them smiled at the young Pokemon, as Venom began to gently tickle her stomach with three of his fingers, causing her to giggle uncontrollably. "Oh, you wanna battle too, Toxel? I admire your spirit, little one, but I'm afraid you're still too little for that. But don't worry. You'll get your chance one day. And when that day comes, I know you'll do great." The ninja stopped tickling Toxel after that, calling her back to her Pokeball for a little nap. After that, Venom did the same to Skorupi and Grimer, thanking them for their efforts in their most recent battle, then continued to venture down the crowded tunnel, searching for Team Toxic's next bout.
OOC: I'll pass on having Grimer learn Toxic. Thanks.

As the two flakes scurried off into the sunset together, the other trainers in the hall were eying Venom up, as if contemplating challenging him next. When two trainers meet eyes they're supposed to battle after all. But as soon as a couple of them pushed away from the wall, they each in turn froze, paled, and power walked in the OPPOSITE direction. What in the world? One of the non-trainer girls tried to grab her boyfriend's arm, to figure out why he was leaving, only to startle and scream. Then she bolted. There were a collection of murmurs and people started to clear out, clearly unsettled by something. As the trainers thinned out and Venom suddenly found himself alone, a chill shivered down his spine and something...licked him. From the base of his spine to the back of his neck. It left him covered in gooseflesh and temporarily stunned, a wicked laughter filling his ears. A nasty but familiar smell permeated his nostrils. A gastly. Apparently this one was a prankster and was being a menace. As he recovered use of his limbs, he would be able to turn to see the ghost, who was formed now, no longer invisible, and was laughing in delight at the mayhem it had caused. Given his continued distaste for humanity, Venom would've much preferred it if some other trainer approached him for a battle, rather than the other way around. Still, that's not to say that he didn't try to initiate a battle himself, glancing at nearly every single trainer he walked past, as he continued to stroll down the underground tunnel. The Poison type trainer came to a stop when a pair of trainers began to approach him, already preparing himself for another bout. However, when they suddenly changed direction, Venom narrowed his eyes and raised his guard, sensing that something was off. And then, when the female trainer screamed, Venom's suspicions were confirmed. Quickly piecing it all together, Venom knew that there was only one Pokemon native to his area that could cause such strange phenomena.
Still, rather than verbally announce it, the purple-haired trainer held his ground and waited for the hidden Pokemon to make a move against him first. Still, even with all of his ninja training, even Venom didn't expect to be licked all the way up his spine, shivering from head to toe as it happened. Be that as it may, this also further served to verify his suspicions. Venom knew that this was a Gastly. He didn't need to smell the scent of its gaseous body to know that by this point. Unable to move for the first few seconds after being licked, the ninja glanced behind himself as best as he could, addressing the wild Gas Pokemon in a calm but mildly uncomfortable tone.
"Yes, yes. You got me. Very well played, Gastly. Unfortunately, playtime is now over. This isn't the first time I've been paralyzed by a Lick attack. And much like poison, it gets a little easier to deal with every time." The second he broke free, Venom turned around, then jumped back from the Gastly, quickly grabbing a Great Ball from his bag and activating it. "Sorry to call you back out so soon, Grimer, but I could use a hand here! Or should I say, some teeth!" With one good throw, the Alolan Sludge Pokemon was right back out on the battlefield, looking all around with some very obvious surprise and confusion on her slimy face. "Huh? Another battle already? Or do I get to cuddle with little Toxel? Oh, I'd just love that so very much!"
Grimer's shock and confusion were quickly replaced by a big smile and some sparkles in her eyes, imagining getting the opportunity to cuddle up with Team Toxic's Baby Pokemon. As he listened to her say and do these things, Venom figured that that might make some good incentive for Grimer at some point later on, making a quick mental note of it. But in the here and now, Poison type trainer and Pokemon had other matters to tend to. "If that's what you'd like as a reward, you'll get it once we finish our training, Grimer. So, with that in mind, go use Bite attack on that Gastly, if you'd be so kind. And if it dodges your attack, try again with another Bite attack." Venom pointed out the wild Gastly for Grimer, regaining her attention, as she turned to face the floating Poison/Ghost type. "If a snuggle with little Toxel is on the line, then I definitely won't lose this battle, master! Just leave it to me!" Grimer slithered over to Gastly, then stretched her body made of sludge up to the prankster, going in for a super effective Bite attack.

With cuddles on the line, the alolan grimer was extra motivated to do well! The gastly snickered and bobbed, laughing at its mischief. Humans were such fun! But awe, this one wasn't running away screaming like normal. Less fun. <Huh. Humans usually don't recover so quickly from a lick...but you're a strange human, huh?> Gastly observed with a snicker. <Hm? Oh. A battle. Boo. I don't wanna battle. I wanna spook humans.> A bit of a pout. Which meant it really didn't put put too much of a fight when bit. A couple glancing strikes from the ghost would only mildly extend the encounter, as it was obvious it wasn't really trying to win. Just get away. Upon getting bit, it made a dramatic noise, <Oh noooooo. I have been defeated. I must...go...recover my strength elsewhere. Curse you. Yadda. Yadda.> And poof. The ghost vanished, retreating through the ventilation to go find someone more fun to bother. (There wasn't any way for it to win that fight anyway. It was better this way.) Down the hall, Venom would hear another person yelp in alarm. At least the ghost had moved on.

Venom fully expected that battle to be an easy one, but he didn't expect this Gastly to have such a nonchalant attitude. Normally, wild Pokemon put up more of a fight in situations like these. Still, the ninja chose not to dwell on it, shrugging his shoulders when he heard the yelp echoing through the underground tunnels. "I suppose that Gastly could also be considered a flake itself, but no matter. We got what we needed from it, and it sounds to have made a full recovery already. So, in a way, both sides of this battle were winners." Venom decided to try putting a positive spin on this outcome, showing very little concern for the humans that Gastly had chosen to terrify next. It seemed he was rather nonchalant himself at that moment.
"I guess that's good, but that Gastly still scared away all the other people and Pokemon in the area, master. That must mean that we're moving on, right?" Grimer turned to face her trainer once the battle was over, questioning him in a knowing tone of voice, as the answer was fairly obvious. "Indeed. Our training is still far from complete, and we won't make much progress without any trainers or wild Pokemon to battle. So, return for now, Grimer. Nice work." The Poison type specialist answered the Sludge Pokemon's question, then called her back to her Great Ball before placing it back into his bag for later use. With that done, there was nothing left for Venom to do but run as fast as he could, bound for a new expanse of tunnels and hopefully Team Toxic's next bout.

As Venom ran down the tunnel, he would catch sight of a familiar Electrike. While all pokemon tended to look similar to each other, this one was CLEARLY the one he'd fought before (the one he saw racing its own shadow before drowning it in a sludge wave by Salandit). There was even a little dampness from that sludge still clinging to the ends of its fur. It was running, running, running, just like before, but when it saw Venom, it yipped in alarm. Then braced itself in...challenge? <You again! You stopped me from catching that other electrike last time. You owe me a race! NOW RUN!> And off zoomed the electrike, sparking as it wound around Venom's legs to provoke him into chasing it before bolting off in a different direction. <Keep up, loser!> The [LV 24] Electrike is back to race you!
