RUBY Ruby had finally managed to arrive at New Bark Town after arriving in Olivine City and avoiding the grass as he wanted a fresh start when he started his journey. After making a tough decision on what to choose for a starter Pokemon, between the beautiful Squirtle, the cute looking Charmander or the ugly looking Bulbasaur. He decided to settle for the ugly looking Bulbasaur in remembrance of his Feebas who taught him that the beauty was in the eye of the beholder. So now he had a team of Poochyena, Skitty, Ralts, Mudkip and a Bulbasaur, but the two he wanted the most would be another Feebas as this time he wouldn't reject it because of its ugliness, and a Castform but those would be very difficult to obtain so he would have to look into finding substitute for them. A good substitute for the Feebas would be a Magikarp as people do say that they are the opposite of each other since Milotic is a beautiful Pokemon for contests, while Gyarados is a powerful Pokemon for battling. So it would be useless for entering contests with and it would reveal that he wasn't a weak battler like he always make it out he is. But then again back in Hoen he did have a Pokemon that he only used in extreme emergencies so he could keep 8t in the back as a last resort in battles. So what would be a good substitute for Castform as not many Pokemon have a gimmick that involves the weather but he had heard of some Pokemon in Unova that could so maybe he should travel there to catch one then return to the Johto region to start his journey. One of Ruby's poke balls levitated out of the compartment and slammed into him and then traveled towards the grass. Ruby walked over to his Poke ball and grabbed hold of it. "Okay, Rara. I will stay in Johto." He placed the poke ball back into its compartment and finally entered the grass ready to find his first Pokemon of the region.

Look at this beautiful day! Sun was shining. Birds were singing. The skies were clear and void of any signs of rain. Which meant that this wurmple couldn't be happier! With winter far behind, it eagerly gobbled its fill on berries and fresh green leaves. It munched, munched, munched until it was full and then munched some more. Spring was a season of plenty for little bugs like itself. And perhaps that fullness made it lazy or bold, because as it wiggled its way to a new bush to devour, it didn't try very hard to avoid the humans on the path.

In fact, it practically squirmed right under Ruby's feet, oblivious to the fact it was almost stepped on, too focused on delightful treats!

RUBY As soon as Ruby stepped into the patch of grass he felt something move away from it. "What was that?" He looked in the direction and didn't see anything or anyone so he looked up to see if it was a flying type and didn't see any traveling from his direction away so he looked down and noticed the culprit happily eating away. "So it was you then." Ruby looked around but didn't see anyone watching him. "Let's do this quick so no one see me." He pulled out a poke ball. "Regardless of the effects of time, the coolness that this body encompasses never changes. Carrying with her the tough Intimidate, this is the Pokemon Poochyena - Nana" Nana appeared in the grass. She raced around the Wurmple and stopped in front of it ready for battle. "This will be a tough battle since I have nothing to face a bug or poison type and Rara doesn't know a psychic type move yet so we will start with you. Nana use Ice Fang." Ruby ordered. Nana charged forward and bit down on the Wurmple while a white mist starts to seep out of her mouth. If the bite lands, the 8nside of Nana's mouth starts to glow light blue brightly and ice starts to form from her mouth and expands outwards around the Wurmple's body.

As Ruby monologued to himself about the tough battle ahead, the hungry wurmple just watched and shoved a leaf in its mouth. Crunch crunch. It would have happily continued its way to the bush to keep eating even more tasties when suddenly, the poocheyna was sent out. The worm shivered, startled and a little scared.

<H-hi? Do...you want a leaf? Hungry? I'm hungry. Are you hungry? There's plenty of food out here so please don't eat me.> It shrank back, timid in the face of such a big, scary pokemon. Why was it lunging? What was going on? AH! The wurmple tried to scramble away, but icy fangs plunged into its wiggly body. <S-so cold! It's like winter in your mouth!> It kept thrashing until it slipped free and then whirled, spitting out sticky webbing to try to slow that poocheyna way down!

RUBY Ruby didn't really pay much attention to the Wurmple as he called out the entrance monologue for Nana that he had previously used for her mother since habits were hard to get rid of especially when he was a coordinator. Nana looked on fiercely at the Wurmple knowing it was going to be a tough battle no matter as she wasn't exactly strong at the moment, so she just hoped that she could intimidate the opponent enough to not attack her. "What are you a scaredy Skitty? I'm not hungry and I do not want to eat you. I would rather eat a Pokemon like a Mareep or a Houndour. I prefer my prey to have some meat on them." She growled and fiercely as she could, but if a stronger Poochyena or even a Mightyena heard her then they would laugh in her face. "Drat that failed." Nana walked back over to Ruby deciding not to continue the battle after her failed frozen status being inflicted. "Don't you want to finish the battle?" Ruby asked. Nana shook her head. "Come on you are doing so well." Ruby complimented Nana. Nana shook her head once more. Ruby slapped his face since he knew exactly where Nana got her attitude from. He pulled out a new poke ball. "Regardless of the effects of time, the toughness that this body encompasses never changes. Boiling with raging Torrent, this is the Pokemon Mudkip- Mumu" Mumu appeared on the field. Mucus dripped onto the ground from his nose. "Mumu, use Water Gun." Ruby said. Mumu released a spiral of water from his mouth at the Wurmple.

"Because I'm small?" the wurmple tried nervously, Nana might also be rather small but to the wurmple she was very big and intimidating, and the growl sounded like it was one of a tiger which made it shake from fear, even though it had no idea what a tiger was. The string shot seemed to work as Nana turned away and the little worm sighed relieved, it perked up, time to more eating!

Right until another strange pokemon appeared and since Mumu clearly had its focus on the small worm, it got nervous again. "There is plenty for share!" It called out and chose to back it up with a string shot, better slow them down so that it could get away, this was way too much excitement for its taste, and it took away time from eating!
Mumu didn't really need to move much to do what ordered and a blast of water toppled the wurmple who disappeared into the grass. Had it been clever and just stayed hidden the battle had been over then, but it wasn't, all it wanted was to run away and it was sure they were going to follow it.
It's head popped up from the grass and another string shot followed, it was a direct hit and glued Mumu's mouth shut! There, that should stop the water and give the wurmple a chance to get away.

RUBY "That is none of my concern whether you are small or big. You just don't look like a good meal to me. I doubt you would make a good snack for me." Nana called out while she walked back over to Ruby. Truth be told the wild Pokemon looked more like a meal for a vegetarian Pokemon and not for a Pokemon who likes to eat meat. Nana looked on interested when Mumu got sent out since he was the stronger Pokemon out of the two of them. Mumu sniffled some of the dripping mucus as he looked at the Wurmple. It didn't know why his trainer had sent him out since the wild Pokemon didn't look particularly strong compared to himself. Mumu looked back and saw that Nana was stood next to Ruby. He turned back to his opponent as he listened to his trainer's orders for the Water Gun. "Mumu return." Ruby said. Mumu disappeared into a red beam. "Nana, time to finish this." Ruby ordered confident that he could finish it with one more attack. Nana trotted forward seeing that the Wurmple was now seriously weakened. "Nana use Ice Fang." Ruby said. Nana charged forward and bit down on the Wurmple while a white mist starts to seep out of her mouth. If the bite lands, the inside of Nana's mouth starts to glow light blue brightly and ice starts to form from her mouth and expands outwards around the Wurmple's body.

Wurmple shivered. The way that Nana spoke to it was scary. It twisted its head back to the towering trees just behind it and spied some all caterpillars sneaking into holes within their trunks to hide. It would give anything to trade places with them at this moment. “Oh…I definitely wouldn’t make a good meal at all!” Wurmple nearly screeched in a high pitched voice, unable to control the anxiety that wrapped around its heart. “So maybe…you should consider sharing berries with me, not bodies?” It pleaded.

Wurmple fired a long string of sticky web, wrapping Nana’s feet up. Nana struggled for a moment, temporarily slowed by the caterpillar’s sticky strings. While she struggled, Wurmple used the opportunity to pelt her with more of the thin adhesive, wrapping it around her mouth to hopefully keep her from chomping down on its delicate body. Nana struggled through the strings, breaking enough of them off to rush after Wurmple and bite down on the small bug’s body.

It was freezing cold! The ice that spilled from Nana’s lips and coated her teeth burned against Wurmple’s tiny flesh. It shivered and wiggled in vain. It needed to escape from this torment and flee far away! Though the fight was short lived, as the small reddish-pink bug would eventually fall limp inside of Nana’s large jaws. All it could hope and pray for now was that Ruby and Nana would leave it alone. I…am too…small…to eat… It’s last thoughts, before fading out of consciousness. Just…leave me…here…to…my…fate…

RUBY Nana rolled her eyes as the Wurmple shivered over the way that she had spoke even though she was trying to M point out the fact that she didn't want tomeat the bug, it didn't seem like her point was getting across to it. She smiled gently when she heard that her point had finally gotten across to the wild Pokemon. "That is what I have been trying to say. I just want to get strong like my mummy as she told me that Ruby doesn't like to battle, so I need to be strong for his sake." Nana let out a slight sigh of frustration at the mention of changing the meal. "I don't want to share any berries with you and I don't want to eat your stupid body either." She insisted. Nana started to get to work on the string wrapped around her feet with her teeth hoping to rip it t9 shreds so that she can put a end to the battle. She was so distracted by the string wrapped around her feet, she failed to notice until it was to late and her mouth was strung shut. Luckily she had freed one paw, so she used the free paw to work at the string on her mouth, once that was freed she went back to work on the string on her feet but this time she was much slower than she felt than when she had started this battle. Ruby watched as the Wurm0le fell from the combined might of Nana and Mumu. He didn't see the point in catching it since it was a common Pokemon in Hoen and he wanted to get more rare Pokemon for his team until he found a Castform and Feebas for his team. While he continued to search for some new Pokemon he saw some kids surrounding something so he made his way over to the group and saw that they were making fun of a funny dressed Swablu and a pink Skitty with a heart shaped tail. Ruby sent out Nana to scare the group of kids away. The two strange Pokemon rushed over to Ruby and wouldnt leave him alone. Ruby decided to head to Cherrygrove City to report the incident. He couldn't find a officer so he headed to a Pokemon centre to get them checked over, he got told by the nurse that they were abandoned and gave him balls for both of them for him to be their new trainer what he gladly accepted. Ruby returned to Route 29 to continue his training.

Another day of spring was blooming beautifully in the New Bark Town area. Brand new green leaves adorned the mighty trees, pretty flowers bloomed on bushes, and tall shimmering grass growing wildly in any ground it could touch. Were it not for routes manually maintained by people, the dirt and manicured route would be destroyed by grass overgrowing in the area. A soft breeze shook the area, but not frequent enough to make the area considered windy. The breeze shook the bushes and wafted the aromatic flowers in the area.

A sudden chirp in front of Ruby disturbed the idyllic scenery. A lone Pidgey was hopping around a pile of fallen fruits and was territorial to protect its catch of the day. "Hey! I was here first! Go get your own fruits!" The bird chirped back boldly, trying to scare and to intimidate the human away. They're usually up to no good!

RUBY Just as Ruby left the Pokemon centre he saw a young boy shouting at a Pokemon egg calling it stupid, useless among other things. He made his way over to the boy. "What's the matter?" Ruby did wonder what the problem was. The boy explained that he had the Pokemon egg for ages and it didn't appear to be close. "Do you have Pokemon with you as you do need them to hatch the egg." Ruby explained. The boy told Ruby he had no Pokemon as the egg was given to him by his older brother and it was going to be his first Pokemon. "How about I take the egg with me and bring it back when it is hatched?" Ruby suggested. The boy accepted the offer and exchanged numbers with Ruby. Ruby carried the egg in his hands in a way where he could swap to a single hand easily I he needed to use any of his Pokemon. He did have a feeling of familiarly with the egg but he couldn't place a finger on it since the egg was quite plain looking. Maybe he could phone his parents to see if they had any idea on what the egg was or if he should just leave it as a surprise since I wasn't his Pokemon to begin with. Ruby's worries were soon broken when he heard a sudden chirp in front of him. He looked down and saw the wild Pokemon. He pulled out a poke ball. "With the effects of time, the majestically that this body encompasses increases. Synchronizing with the others, this is the Pokemon Ralts - Rara." Rara appeared on the ground and looked at the Pidgey as it spoke to them. "That isn't hard since we are from Hoen. I am not interested in your fruits. But I am in interested in a fight." Ralts held out the poke ball. "Rara return." Rara disappeared into her poke ball. Ruby swapped the poke ball with a different one. Pidgey puffed up its feathers and flapped its wings wildly at its side. The humanoid-shaped Pokemon with its large red horns and thick green ‘hair’ was obviously lying so that she could get closer to its fruit. Pidgey had been around the block enough times to know a liar and a thief when it spotted one. “Of course, you’re not. Next you’re going to tell me the sky is red, huh?” It scoffed, scratching nervously at the ground with its sharp claws. “This is my last warning to buzz off. If you refuse…well, you asked for it.”

The thought of fighting wasn’t really Pidgey’s first instinct. It was nervous to see how ready and itching for a fight the small Ralts seemed willing to be. Hoping to intimidate Rara and scare her off, Pidgey puffed itself up as much as possible, hoping to look even larger and more intimidating than ever before. Once it finally worked the courage up to attack, it rammed into…a strange looking blue fish-thing? What? Where’d the other challenger go?! “You’re not trying to help the others steal my fruits, are you?” It asked Mumu skeptically.

Mumu blasted Pidgey in its moment of confusion. Hosed down with water and dripping wet from head to talons, Pidgey shook itself profusely. It tried to dry off as much as possible, completely disturbed that this strange new opponent was just that willing and ready to drench someone. “Now just look what you’ve done to my beautiful feathers! It will take all day to fully dry out! A true crime!” It slammed into Mumu’s side with all of its might and rubbed itself against him, hoping to use Mumu to help dry itself off some. It’s the least this mean spirited Pokemon could do for it!

RUBY Rara knew that she had no chance of winning this battle against the Pidgey if it came to that. She just hoped that her trainer had some plan on how to keep her healthy and win the battle. Rara hadn't been in a battle with Ruby so she had no idea what his battling style was right, all she knew was that the parents of herself and the three other Pokemon that he had brought to the Johto region were all very strong. "I am telling the truth. And everyone knows that the sky is blue and not red. Who told you that?" She had no idea why the Pidgey was being so aggressive for. "All I want is to be a part of my first battle with Ruby so prepare yourself." As Rara disappeared into her poke ball she wished that she could have remained out in order to observe the battle to see how she could improve for her next battle, but that wasn't meant to be. Before Mumu could even do anything following being sent out to the battlefield, he got rammed into by a light brown feathered Pokemon who then accused him of doing something he wasn't even doing in the first place. "What are you on about. All I want is some medicine to help with my problem, or for this darn dripping mucus to go away." Mumu said. Mumu smiled gently when he had finally launched his attack on the rude Pidgey causing it to drip from the water. He sniffled up some mucus as the wild Pokemon dried itself as much as possible, since he was facing a flying type Pokemon then the best option was to face it with long range attacks. "What about you. I come out and the first thing you do is slam into me. If you don't want to be attacked back then don't..." Mumu started to say but then he got slammed in the side by the Pidgey. "That does it!" He called out. "Mumu, use Water Gun." Ruby said. Mumu released a spiral of water from his mouth at the Pidgey.

The pidgey rolled its eyes, "riiiiiight, of course you do," it said sarcastically but at least disappeared so that the bird's fruit was not threated anymore, at least as long as the human left as well. It puffed out its feathers annoyed when another pokemon were sent out in place of the ralts'.

It shot Mumu an angry look, "because you're with that human of course! That means you are in on the scheme and are nothing but trouble! He's the one starting all of this and I'm just defending myself!" It snapped, it puffed itself up proudly, "These are my fruits, and I told your human and that green haired friend of yours that they were and they should leave, your human decided otherwise, so now I'm teaching you a lesson!"

The bird ran forward but Mumu had had enough, a powerful blast of water and the pidgey rolled over in the dust and laid still. The fruits were free for the taking, if they were alright with bruised ones of course. Should Ruby feel like having a stubborn and sprearow like pidgey on his team, it wouldn't struggle against the capture.

RUBY Rara looked on frustrated as it didn't seem that the Pidgey was even listening to what he had to say. "Besides, Ruby makes the food for everyone him self. So he doesn't need to take any of your fruit." She called out as the wild Pokemon disappeared with the fruit. Mumu dripped out mucus from his nose as he thought of the best way to get the Pidgey to calm down as it was obvious that it was agitated over something but couldn't understand what it was even about. "Are you some kind of an idiot? A human can't understand what a Pokemon is saying. So the only one who understood you was the one sent out before me and I can guess that they are also not interested Un your fruit. But the one thing that I do know for definite that you are a hot headed bully who needs to be taught a lesson." Mumu said as he glared at the Pidgey, but it was a humorous sight with the mucus dripping down from his n9se. "You started it by Tackling me. If you don't like it then don't attack me as I hate being dirty." He was not going to be backing down from this battle no matter what. Mumu rolled his eyes as he listened to what the Pidgey told him. "And I have told you that none of us are interested in your fruits. We are not thieves and will not take your fruit. Ruby walked over to Mumu and pulled out a brush and started to brush his water type to get rid of all of the dirt. He then returned his Pokemon and searched for a new Pokemon.
